Ch. 35 Happy Days

[Two months later]
Elizabeth and I have been living together for two months now. It has been amazing. That's not to say every second is pure bliss. About a month ago we had a huge fight.
The fight was my fault. There was a new threat. A man we had little information on. He made threats directly at Elizabeth and Carly. I just couldn't let that slide. Johnny and Francis assured me they would take care of it. I just couldn't let them.
I had promised everyone including myself I would keep Elizabeth safe. I also couldn't let anything happen to Carly she's my best friend. I was gone for three days straight. I knew Elizabeth would be angry. I wasn't prepared for how angry.
Elizabeth had a bag packed by the door. She said I needed to take sometime and think. I asked where she was going but she didn't answer. I soon found out Elizabeth was with her family. I followed soon after hoping to get her to forgive me. I was willing to do anything. Finally after a week with Audrey's help Elizabeth agreed to come home. Carly quickly told me I needed to hand over the enforcer title completely. I knew she was right. Johnny happily stepped up.
I worked hard to get Elizabeth and I back on track. Once I did get us where we were better I knew she was my forever. Carly and I went and picked out an engagement ring for Elizabeth. The ring is from Italy simple yet beautiful.
Sonny helped me make dinner. We made lasagna, garlic bread, and salad. I also opened a bottle of wine. I lit the candles on the beautiful table Carly had set for us. I turned on some music and waited.
Elizabeth came in. She was shocked. She asked if she could shower before dinner. I kissed her and told her to go ahead. An hour later she came down the stairs. She was wearing a beautiful purple dress. She looked so sexy yet sweet.
We talked about our days. She kept asking what the occasion was. I was about to propose when Carly busted in. Elizabeth laughed a little as she looked at my annoyance.
"What do you need Carly?" I asked hoping she'd quickly leave.
"Did you like the ring? What colors are you going with?" Carly shouted.
"What are you talking about?" Elizabeth asked as I cursed under my breath.
"Oh no uh got to go." Carly said running out the door.
"What was she talking about?" Elizabeth asked.
"Crap I need to make sure I lock the door." I said.
"Jason are you going to propose?" Elizabeth asked.
I was so annoyed. I worked so hard. I sighed all my hard work ruined. Then I got an idea. I told her to go get dressed for a ride. She looked confused but agreed to go.
Elizabeth came down the stairs. She was wearing black jeans, red shirt, and her leather jacket. She followed me out. We got on my bike and took off.
I knew where to go. She smiled as I pulled up at Jake's. I lead her in. We went to the same table. Though I had met Elizabeth before that night in August I got to know her that night. She became my friend that night.
I slowly bent down on one knee. She smiled at me. I was nervous. I couldn't remember what I had planned to say.
"Elizabeth I love you. You are amazing." I said.
"I love you too." She responded.
"Will you marry me Elizabeth?" I asked nervously.
"I would be happy to marry you." Elizabeth answered crying.
(Elizabeth's point of view)
[One week later]
Sonny is having an engagement party for Jason and me. Most of Port Charles was going to attend. Jason wasn't happy but, he agreed for the Quartermaine to attend. I promised to run interference. Emily also promised her family would behave.
"You look beautiful." Jason said as I came down the stairs in my emerald dress.
"Thank you and you look great also." I said looking at his black suit.
"We should get going." Jason said.
"Yeah it isn't polite to be late for your own party." I responded as we both laughed.
We arrived at Jake's. I was shocked. There were cars everywhere. We walked in the whole place was decorated. Sonny and Carly greeted us first. After hugging them both I made my way to Nikalos and Emily.
"We have a surprise for you." Emily said.
"Okay." I responded.
"Come on." Emily said grabbing my hand.
"Hello Dear." Grams said.
"I though you couldn't be here." I said hugging her as I saw my brother and sister as well.
"We wanted to surprise you." Grams said.
"So have you set a date yet?" Sarah asked as I hugged her and Steven.
"Some time next year. Probably in the Spring." I answered.
"Are you happy?" Steven asked.
"More than ever before." I answered.
"Then I'm happy for you baby sis." Steven responded.
"Steven I was hoping you'd walk me down the aisle." I said.
"I'd be honored." Steven said.
"And Sarah would you be a bridesmaid?" I asked.
"I'd love to Liz." Sarah responded hugging me.
"I'm still working on your parents. I'm so sorry they are being stubborn." Grams said referring to the fact that my parents have disowned me.
"Grams Elizabeth will have the person who raised her there. Before we came to live with you Nanny's raised us. You are our parent Grams." Sarah said.
"She's right Grams. My parents haven't been here for me in years. When I was raped, when I lost Lucky, when we were attack by the imposter you were by my side." I said hugging her as her eyes filled with tears.
"Sorry to interrupt but Edward has Jason cornered and I can't find Emily." Carly said.
"Oh shoot. I'll talk you all later." I said quickly walking towards Jason.
"Now Jason you don't want to put that young lady in harms way." Edward said.
"Mr. Quartermaine I have never felt safer than I've been with Jason." I responded.
"You can't approve of his job." Edward said.
"Leave her alone." Jason said.
"No Jason I want to answer him." I said.
"Go ahead Elizabeth." Edward said.
"While I don't want Jason in danger I would never tell him to get a new job. Jason is smart, strong, and brave." I said seeing Jason smiling.
"Edward you promised to behave." Monica said interrupting us.
"She's brainwashed anyway." Edward shouted walking away.
"Congratulations to you both." Monica said smiling.
"Thank you and thank you for coming." I said nervously.
"Jason I just wanted to tell you I love you and I am so happy to see you happy." Monica said to Jason.
"Thank you." Jason mumbled sounding shocked.
"Can I hug you son?" She asked softly as Jason nodded.
"Thank you Jason." She said.
Thank you for inviting us." Alan said smiling as he came up.
"You're welcome." I said.
"Son we will always love you. I am so proud of you." Alan said looking misty eyed.
"Thank you." Jason whispered.
"Sorry to interrupt but Sonny is about to do his speech." Emily said.
"Oh no we better get over to Edward. He's trying to talk to Carly." Monica said running off.
"Wow." Jason mumbled.
"That was interesting." I said.
"My parents have never said anything like that." Jason said seeming in shock.
"You called them your parents." I said smiling.
"They're acting like it. The way parents should be. I hope it last." Jason said.
"Me too especially since I don't believe my parents will ever." I said as Sonny started to speak.
"Thank you everyone for being here. Jason is like a little brother to me. I have never seen him as happy as he is with Elizabeth. And Elizabeth has become a little sister to me. I love you both. Carly and I wish you both every happiness. And we will always be here for you both." Sonny said as everyone clapped.
The rest of the night was fun. A few of my friends from school showed up. They were all imitated by Jason. We spent time with our family and friends. I was exhausted as the night ended. I knew a new chapter in my life was beginning.
[One week later]

Today Elizabeth and I set the date for our wedding. It will be March 5th. I was shocked by everyone saying it was too quick. That was almost four months from now. Elizabeth explained what all went into a wedding. Though Elizabeth and I had planned to have a small wedding Audrey quickly changed that. I couldn't blame her though.
