Chapter Thirty-Six - Nicknames

Draco Drake Dracosis,

Yes you noticed your wonderful nicknames well, I am going to keep trying though, any preferences?

You might be glad to hear that I did actually go to the library and looked up your posh Old English words (any other hidden talents in language I should know about). You might be surprised but really Malagrugrous was NOT the easiest word to find, git. Hermione was so happy though. We found a lot of great old books on the magical culture and its history. Though you might not be interested in it, Mione and I took an extra hour scamming the books. I can't believe they don't tell us anything on all that culture. Never mind that, I am really offended actually that you believe I never visit the library! I mean okay so yes previous years I didn't, but I did tell you I am doing extra credits now for Defense, it's sooo interesting. Perhaps becoming an auror will not be my only options after Hogwarts.

Have you got any plans for after Hogwarts? Going to charm your way through charms *wink wink (whahahah…. Okay I know Ron would have liked this joke so don't give me that look, I know the look your giving me now, stupid eyebrow).

Oh before I forget, you really must stop bringing all those sweets with my delicious (not too sweet) tea! You know I need to eat healthier, and the food at Hogwarts is really not helping. Everything is so starchy. Remus, and if I remember correctly you as well through a very demanding letter, forced me to promise to try eat wholesome carbs only and lots of veggies after these summer revelations. Sooo is there nothing savoury that can "compliment" our tea?

So I am really not sure how to mention this, but what do you mean that it is so difficult being friends with me? Something I did wrong?

See you tonight (probably),

Harry

p.s. Grabbing on to my challenge of singing so quickly... quite Gryffindor-ish of you

Dear Harrison,

Imagine how much you would like being called Harrison, multiply that number by one thousand and eleven, then you might get close to my dislike for the nicknames you have so 'graciously' provided me. Draco is the only option, thank you.

My father has been preparing me for a life in business and politics, yet I have dreamed of inventing my own potions and spells as a master in both. As you know, I'm brilliant like that. If only it would be possible. And so i will probably follow in my fathers' footsteps. You however should not become an auror if you ask me, a worthless profession if you have fought the Dark Lord your whole life. Would you honestly want to continue fighting the bad guys? A tiring job.

I adhere to your dislike for starchy food, but I must admit, we do not have this at the slytherin table, so I don't understand your hatred towards my perfectly chosen sweets. So no, I will not change my sweets for anything savoury.

Do not start with blaiming yourself for my awfully timed remark about being your friend. I have been thinking about our friendship a lot, and as you might understand, my father will not appreciate me suddenly being friendly, let alone conversing, with you. However, after last night, I have decided I am going to say I use our friendship to my advantage, and I have send my father a letter that I will be using you to gain more information for the dark side.

Please, understand this is the only way. I know it is not ideal, but with the Dark Lord reciding at home, it is my only option.

Sincerely,

Draco
