CHAPTER 4: FALLOUT
"YOU ARE A SADISTIC BITCH, VIOLET!"
Those were the words spoken by Tracy after the savage humiliation of Charlie Brown. She was livid at what she had done, ruining her date with Charlie Brown by calling her jealous ex and telling him about them being together.
"In spite of the status quo, which is bullshit in its own right, there are girls who like Charlie Brown!" Tracy growled. "Hell, there are MANY people who like him! I like him! Yes! I LIKE CHARLIE BROWN! How fucking hard is that to believe?!"
"Because it's Charlie Brown," Violet said, without a shred of remorse. "He is to be hated. Nothing more, nothing less. He's a loser, no. The king of losers. He fails at everything he does. He's weak, cowardly, as you just saw right there. Had he not been cowardly, he would have fought for your honor against Blake here."
"She has a point, babe," agreed Blake. Tracy immediately kneed him in the groin. Blake immediately fell and held his crotch in pain.
"You shut your fucking mouth, asshole!" sneered a fuming Tracy. "YOU'VE done enough damage tonight! For the last fucking time. WE. ARE. THROUGH!" Turning back to Violet, she said, "I don't expect you to apologize for what you've done. Hell, at least you were up front and honest about being a heartless bitch! Most would just stab you in the back! Still doesn't make it right, though!"
"Tracy's right!" agreed Schroeder. "Violet, you've done some shitty things to Charlie Brown in the past, but this is possibly your worst! You knew full and well how jealous Blake here was when it came to Tracy, and you used that to your advantage JUST BECAUSE your hatred for Charlie Brown overrides any good reasoning you may have! Hell, not even Lucy, as awful as she is to him, wouldn't do that to him!"
"Hey!" protested Lucy.
"Blake, did you know Violet planned this?" asked Linus.
"No, I didn't," groaned Blake, still hurting from the kick to his groin. "Had I known it was just a ploy to humiliate Brown, I never would have agreed to it, even if Tracy was with him."
"I find that hard to believe," said an apprehensive Tracy. "I'll take that statement with a grain of salt, given how you did act tonight!"
"I honestly didn't know Violet planned this out," said Blake, now standing up, but still holding his crotch from the pain. "I just thought she was looking out for me."
"Well, you helping her humiliate Charlie Brown, intentional or not, is probably the least of your problems now, Blake," said Franklin. "Because since you vandalized his car, the police will probably be involved now."
"Shit!" cursed Blake.
"Couldn't have said it better myself," quipped Linus. "Speaking of Charlie Brown, I promised to check up on him. I will see you guys later."
"Goodnight, Linus," said Frieda.
"See you at home, little brother," said Lucy. And Linus left for Charlie Brown's home.
"Well, don't let what happened to Failure-Face ruin this night!" said Violet, trying, but mostly failing to salvage her party. "The night is still young. Pig Pen, cue the music back up!"
"Fuck you, Violet!" sneered Pig Pen. "I may be dirty and dusty, but even I have principals. And I've always said I have clean thoughts, which you obviously don't. I'll send you my bill for services rendered." And Pig Pen, who had already packed his gear during the confrontation, left.
"Great, now I need a new DJ," said Violet, pouting. "Does anyone know where I can get a DJ on short notice?"
"Forget it, Violet!" said Schroeder. "Not only is this party a bust, ANY future party you throw is!" And Schroeder followed Pig Pen out. "Yo, Pig Pen, you need a lift, dude?!"
"Deuces, baby!" said Franklin, and he took his leave with his date. Soon everyone started leaving in droves. Some even had parting shots for her.
"I may not like the bum myself," quipped Thibault, a kid who once kept Charlie Brown's baseball glove because he thought Charlie Brown thought he was better than him, "but even I wouldn't have done what you've done to him!"
"You always have to be so mean to him, Violet!" cried Frieda. "Would it really kill you just to be decent to him once?! You don't have to like him, but at least give him the respect he deserves!" And Frieda left.
"Charlie Brown's a blockhead, but even I know when too far is too far," said Lucy. "Tonight, Violet, you crossed that line even I wouldn't have crossed." Lucy then followed Frieda. By then, all who were left were Patty, Tracy, Blake, Julia, the blonde friend who was on Violet's side, and Shermy.
"Is what they're saying true, Violet?" asked Shermy. "Did you plan to have Blake hurt Charlie Brown, just to see him humiliated? I'm not saying what he did was right, because it wasn't, but not only did you hurt Charlie Brown, but Blake will be arrested by the police any time now for not just this, but vandalizing his car. I just went out and I saw what was done! The windows are all smashed up! There's shit all over the car, human and dog! The tires are slashed! Sugar in the gas tank!" Turning to Blake, he said, "Dude, you really did a number on his car!"
"I was pissed, okay?" said Blake.
"Still no excuse, man," sighed Shermy. Turning back to Violet, he continued. "As for you and I, Violet, as of tonight, we are done! I'm leaving you."
"So, you're choosing that blockhead over me?!" cried Violet.
"If you mean I'm choosing Charlie Brown, one of my closest friends since childhood over someone who hates him with every fiber in their body, then yes, Violet! Him over YOU! Sayonara, baby!" And Shermy grabbed his leather jacket and took off on his motorcycle. Tracy had one last thing to say before she left.
"Violet, I, too, am going over to Charlie Brown's house, to let him know I had nothing to do with what happened to him tonight," she said to her. Turning to Blake, she said, "And I have just one last thing to say to you. If you truly didn't know she planned this out, you have to do the right thing and apologize to Charlie Brown for what you done, not only stripping him in front of everyone that was here, but the horrendous job you did to his car! While it won't mean our getting back together, because you've already burned that bridge BEFORE the events of tonight, but maybe it would help me regain a shred of respect for you. Can you at least promise me that?"
"Sure, Trace," said Blake, now ashamed of what he had done.
"Okay, is everybody done now?!" exclaimed Violet. "Because now that my party has been ruined, I need to clean up the place before my folks get home!"
"Sure, Violet, I'm done," said Tracy, eerily calmly. "Just one last thing I need to say before I go."
"And that is?"
"Oh, just this." And Tracy decked Violet with a punch to the face, making both Julia and Patty's jaws drop. "That one was for Charlie Brown, bitch!" And she then took her leave and left for Charlie Brown's home.
