A/N: Last of the boredom to overtake me for a while…woot. And it's a short message in a little one shot. Yay.
OOOOOOOOOOOO
Calli yawned as she stretched on the couch backstage of a photoshoot for the WWE. Being on the road with Drew was still as new to her as her chosen name. The others had readily accepted that she had become Calli and her dead name was well, dead. Though Ron never really called her more than his "Boo-thang" which brought a smile to her face. Every single time.
"He doesn't look angry enough," she commented about Drew when the photographer's assistant looked over at her. "I thought he was supposed to be pissed about having to fight Sheamus and the Brawling Brutes for a chance to take on Reigns."
"She's right," the photographer decided, overhearing. "Show me more anger, Drew. ANGER! RAGE!"
Drew delivered and the photographer praised him heavily. Calli made faces behind the photographer to see if she could get her Superstar boyfriend laughing. Drew flicked a smile in her direction and relaxed when the photographer called the shoot.
"Can I get a couple with my Calli?" he asked, gesturing at her with his heavy sword.
"What?" Calli squeaked, draining of what color she had in her skin.
"The WWE Universe has yet to see her as she truly is," Drew explained to the photographer when he arched a brow. "Name change. New look. Proper self as she saw fit to be. It'd be good publicity."
Calli worried her bottom lip. Say no. Say no. Say no.
The photographer smiled. "Of course!" He waved for Calli to come forward. "Come, Calli, come!"
Calli slowly peeled herself from the couch and walked over to her boyfriend. She looked up at him with worry in her eyes. Drew gently brushed back a stubborn strand of hair from her face and caressed her cheek.
"It's all right, love," he promised in a gentle growl.
"I hate being in front of cameras I'm not good at being in front of them."
"Don't pay attention to the camera at all. Just focus on me and act natural."
Calli made a small face. "Easier said that done. Especially when there's a freaking camera on us at the moment!"
Drew sighed and shifted his sword in his hand. The light glinted off the metal and caught Cali's attention immediately. She ran her hand lightly over the polished metal.
"Pretty…"
"You've always been a fan of weapons," Drew commented with an appreciative smile,
"Started young…daggers and the like…"
"Now you're playing swords…"
Calli's eyes lifted to his. "We're still talking about weapons, right?"
Drew winked and held her closer, resting his forehead against hers. "A gentleman can hold some secrets…"
"Good thing you're not a gentleman then, you Scottish brute!" Calli teased, pushing him back while managing to steal his sword. She laughed,. "Mine now!"
Drew laughed as she tried to get the sword back without leaving the set or hurting her. Calli tossed the sword playfully to the photographer's assistant and then tripped her boyfriend. Drew tumbled down and ro9lled onto his back. Calli straddled him and sat on his stomach, leaning over him to look into his eyes.
"Dork…" she purred.
"Love," Drew said, glancing at her lips.\
"Say please," Calli ordered gently.
"Please…"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Calli shook her head as she looked at all the options of ice cream at the shop that Drew took her to after the shoot. There were so many and so many were weirdly named. It confused and overwhelmed her.
"Hey, try the Golden Sunset," Natalya said, appearing at her elbow. "If you love vanilla ice cream as much as I know you do, you'll love that one."
Calli nodded and relayed her order to Drew because there was no way she was going to talk to a stranger. Her eyes turned to Natalya.
"What are you doing here? Besides getting ice cream, I mean?" she asked, shoving her hands into her pockets.
"Out for a friend date with Randy," Natalya explained, gesturing over at a table. "He looked so lonely, so why not?" Her eyes looked at Calli's, hard. "You all right, Calli?"
Calli nodded, looking at Natalya's nose rather than at her eyes. "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know. You seem kind of nervous….and tired? Chica, are you sleeping okay?"
"Yes. I really am. Schedule's just been crazy lately. What with Drew having so many matches all of a sudden." She shrugged. "The whole thing will even out eventually."
Natalya didn't look completely convinced and couldn't do anything about it either because Randy called out to her. The Diva gave Calli a one-armed hug and then took off. Calli let herself breathe with one of her friends gone.
She's getting to be as bad as Mark is about reading me, Calli thought, putting on a smile when Drew brought over a giant cone.
"Sharing, are we ?" she guessed.
Drew wiggled an eyebrow and started walking with her. Calli and he took turns eating the ice cream. Calli knew he wanted to say something, but was holding back.
"Out with it, you Scottish brute!" she ordered, jumping in front of him. "I want all of it! Right now! Spill!"
Drew sighed and draped his arm around her shoulders, guiding her down the street. "Calli, I'm worried about you, love."
"Why?"
"You haven't been to therapy in weeks. And I feel like it's my fault."
"Nu-uh! I went – I went, um…" Calli wracked her brain. "When was the Panama City fight again?"
"Exactly. Love, you haven't been actively participating in therapy in weeks. There are years of trauma that have to unpack. And a therapist could help you."
"I know, I know, but…"
"We could get you set up with an online therapist. There are plenty of telehealth programs that are out there for people who can't come into offices easily."
Calli ducked her head. "That sounds like a plan."
Drew sensed her discomfort and squeezed her. "There's no fun in facing all of this all over again, Calli, I know. But you can't bottle it up inside and let it fester." He gave her a small smile. "Or write it all down in dozens of journals that you stuff into totes…"
Calli made a face. "Call me out, why don't you?"
"I'd rather pull you closer and kiss away your troubles," Drew said, brushing his nose against her cheek.
Calli turned her face and kissed him quickly before dancing out of his reach. Mischief lit up her eyes. "Come back to the hotel room with me, Drew. I want to watch a movie with you."
Drew arched a brow and followed behind her, clearly interested…
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Calli kissed Drew, moaning softly as he kissed her neck and downward. She knew better than to hope that he would do more than kiss and touch her,. He hadn't done so yet. Their makeout sessions kept getting hotter and hotter, bordering on dangerous, but he controlled himself. And boy did Calli hate that control.
Drew lifted his eyes as he parted from her, the question lingering deep in his dark eyes. Calli wanted her eyes to scream 'yes', but he simply kiss her one more time and slid away, straightening his clothes as he did. Calli felt disgruntled and wanted to pounce on him, demand that the touches return and deepen, but she was never brave enough.
"That was…fun…" she muttered, sweeping a hand through her dark hair.
Drew nodded, looking distracted by an internal war. "Yeah, fun…" He glanced at her. "Are you hungry, love?"
Calli crossed her arms and shook her head. "Nope."
"Calli. You have to eat. I don't recall you eating since that poptart from breakfast and ice cream doesn't count."
"See? I ate today."
"You need to address that with your therapist at some point. This aversion to properly feeding yourself."
"Bossy."
"Calli."
"Scottish brute." Calli pushed herself off the bed and walked over to the adjoining bathroom. "If you want to get food, get food. I'll make myself eat it. So you and the world will be happy. Okay?"
Drew muttered something under his breath as he reached for his phone. The little Goth turned around and glared at him.
"Say that again, I didn't quite hear you!"
Drew rolled his eyes. "Moody."
"That's why I need therapy, right?" Calli demanded, crossing her arms.
Her boyfriend was silent, which was answer enough. Calli growled and stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her.
The Goth jumped onto the vanity and sat there, staring at her reflection in the mirror without really seeing it. So many thoughts were raging through her mind. She sat there, feeling hollow and feeling everything all at once. It was too much to process on her own…
I need help…I need someone who understands how to dissect all of the different things going on with my thoughts and emotions…someone who actually knows what they're doing…because I sure as hell don't…
The door to the bathroom opened and Calli looked over. Drew peeked at her, almost shyly. Calli motioned him forward.
"I'm not going to bite," she said.
Drew gave her a look.
"Much."
Drew walked into the room and Calli made grabby hands. The Scot embraced her and held her close, stroking her hair soothingly.
"Drew, I need help…"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
