Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans.

As she sat on the edge of Titans Tower's rooftop, swinging her legs from the edge, Raven stared out towards the sunset. The hood of her cloak was pulled up over her head to partially conceal the downhearted look on her face.

It was not uncommon for the young half-demon to be so broody, but today, she had been especially gloomy. Try as the other Titans might to cheer her up, all she wanted was to be left alone. That was why she had gone up to the top of their home, where she intended to be all by herself.

That was not to last, however, for Raven was about to receive some company on the roof.

A bird flew down from the sky. It descended towards where it had spotted the young superhero sitting by herself. It perched itself gently onto her left shoulder, where it began to whistle a calm, gentle tune.

Underneath her hood, Raven's ears perked up. She turned towards where the tweeting was coming from - and pulled a face upon seeing the small bird that was on her shoulder.

"Hey!" she exclaimed. "What d'you think you're doing on me?"

The bird remained in its place. It stayed on Raven's shoulder as it continued to chirp out the melody it was making.

"So you're a song bird, huh?" Raven asked, managing to half smile. "Well your voice is better than that of someone I know who I happen to live with in this tower. Their singing is awful."

Seeing the girl's heavy gaze starting to face, the bird continued to cheerfully chirp. It wasn't able to make the gothic music which she enjoyed, but as long as it could get her to smile, that was all that mattered.

Raven watched the bird. She couldn't help getting the feeling it was trying to cheer her up. Despite herself, she couldn't help but find that a sweet gesture from such a tiny creature

Once it reached the end of its tune, the bird took tiny footsteps to walk off Raven's shoulder. It disappeared from view behind the back of her neck - before another animal came onto her left shoulder.

"Hey!"

Raven's eyes filled with astonishment at the sight of the tiny kitten which was now on her. Her gaze lit up underneath her hood; the first time any joy had been visible in her face all day.

As it peered at the girl with a tilt of its furry head, the kitten began to paw away at her hood, trying to pull it down and away from her.

"Now, little guy!" Raven laughed as she took the kitten in both hands to hold it up before her. "You leave my hood alone! I can't wear it if you slash it to pieces with your claws!"

The kitten stared up at Raven as she held it before its face - which it began to nuzzle. It brought a laugh out of the darkly-dressed teenager as it rubbed her pale skin with its furry head, its petite body vibrating as it purred happily.

"Good boy!" Raven chuckled as she gently scratched behind the feline's ears. "Good kitty!"

The kitten stopped nuzzling Raven. It stared at her with wide eyes - before suddenly throwing itself out of her hands, leaping straight towards the half-demon.

No sooner had Raven's face filled with surprise than she was knocked straight off her feet. She lay flat on her back on the roof of Titan's Tower - where a sloppy tongue began to run across her face.

"Hey!" Raven cried, unable to hold back her laughs. "C'mon! Stop it! Cut it out!"

The puppy which was now on top of the Raven continued to lick her face. It kept her pinned down as it showered her with tender affection. Its tail pounded against the surface of the rooftop as the canine wagged it happily.

"Okay, okay!" Raven giggled. "I'm feeling better now! You've managed to cheer me up!"

The puppy stopped licking Raven as soon as its ears picked up the words it wanted to hear from her. It jumped off her to allow her to sit upright. It fixed its shining eyes onto the girl, panting softly as it continued to wag its tail.

Raven smiled warmly. She was indeed feeling a lot better for the first time that day. She had the animals who had comforted her to thank for that. They had managed to lift her out of the abnormally low mood she had been in all day.

"Thank you for being here for me and cheering me up…" Raven murmured as she lowered her gaze towards the puppy. "…Beast Boy."

At once, the puppy changed before Raven's purple eyes into the shapeshifting superhero who she'd just said the name of.

"How'd you know it was me?" Beast Boy asked, smiling.

"C'mon!" Raven laughed. "It could've only been you! I don't know any other puppies, kittens and birds that are green!"

Beast Boy chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. No matter how good he was at changing into different animals, he was completely unable to change his color that made him stand out among the other Titans.

"Well as long as you're feeling better now, Raven," he said. "That's the main thing…"

"I sure am…" Raven nodded, taking her hood down from over her head - before pulling the hero who had used his superpowers to comfort her into a hug. "Thanks to you, Beast Boy…"

Warmth instantly spread through Beast Boy. He smiled as he wrapped his own arms around Raven to embrace her in return. It was nice, he thought, for the two of them to have a genuinely heartfelt moment like this. The pair of them were often bickering and rubbing one another up the wrong way. It was rare touching moments like this which showed they truly cared for each other.

As the sun continued to set over the city, the pair remained locked together underneath the twilight sky. Then Raven pulled away so that she could send the grateful look on her face towards Beast Boy once more. She was still smiling as she turned away from him, preparing to go inside the tower to join the other Titans.

"Oh, by the way, Raven," Beast Boy said as a thought suddenly struck him. "When you said you know someone in Titans Tower who has an awful singing voice, you weren't talking about me, right?"

As she at the door leading into the tower, Raven peered over her shoulder towards Beast Boy - as she shot a smirk in Beast Boy's direction. "Maaaaybe…"

"You couldn't have been!" Beast Boy cried, his voice raising. "My singing voice is totally amazing!"

"Is it?" Raven asked dryly as she shut the door behind her, leaving the titan who she'd successfully wound up now that she was back to feeling like her normal self.

"Raven? Raven?! Raveeeeeeeeeeen!" Beast Boy wailed, throwing his anguished shouts of Raven's name from the rooftop of Titans Tower to be heard all over Jump City.
