The beginning of a road trip

Three pairs of eyes, varying in color, watched the events of the meeting unfold before them. Things had escalated very quickly, but they always did when it came to the meetings of the nations of the world.

Each respective group of nations was having individual arguments that all blended together in the meeting room. England proceeded to inform America of how idiotic all of his ideas were, while Japan and China argued over past events. The two Asian countries were part of the few that argued in a somewhat civilized manner, quite the opposite of the way Greece and Turkey screamed at each other.

It seemed that all the nations in the room just wanted to be mad at each other, there were a few arguing over current events which involved a lot of angry yelling at America as was usual for the North American country.

Though, Russia for some reason didn't seem to be all that interested in the meeting, as he was preoccupied with the task of moving closer to Canada. Romano however, noticed and made Prussia sit on the other side of Canada as a sort of makeshift Russia barrier.

The pointless arguments continued on for a full hour. While dealing with this the three friends also made sure that Russia stayed a respectable distance from Matthew. The Canadian sighed and laid his head down on the table. "I could really use a break from all of this."

Romano nodded his agreement. "Cheh, dealing with these bastards gives me a headache." Prussia rested his chin in the palm of his hand. "It does get tiring." He muttered, eyes darting to the Russian nearby.

The trio fell into silence for a few moments, before Canada spoke up again, his voice barely discernable over the yelling in the room. "We should take a vacation. Just get away for a while and relax." Lovino raised an eyebrow. "That sounds nice, but where would we go?" Canada shrugged. "We can work something out."

Prussia hummed. "It actually sounds like a pretty good idea. A little change would be great."

"Let's go to my place after the meeting and talk about it more." Lovino said to his friends, and both nodded in agreement.

When the meeting finally ended the group of friends stood and left the building, each one of them still wary of Russia. "He's so fucking creepy." Romano muttered.

Prussia nodded. "Ja, and he's obsessed with birdie, for some reason." Canada shrugged. "At least he isn't sitting on me anymore..."

A short cab ride later, the trio entered Lovino's house and settled down on the couch.

"So we've got to pick a place to go first." Prussia pointed out as he made himself comfortable.

Romano nodded. "We should go to one of our countries, that way at least one of us will be sure of where we're going."

"How about Birdie's place? It's huge so there's got to be something interesting to do." Prussia pointed out.

Romano glanced at Matthew, and the Canadian nodded. "There are tons of things we could do in my country. I could take you guys site seeing." He smiled a bit.

"Road trip!" Prussia exclaimed with a grin. Canada smiled and chuckled lightly, a road trip with his two friends should be nice right?

A few weeks later all of the planning had been done, each one of them had packed and cleared their schedules for a weekend road trip, give or take a few days. Canada of course would be the one driving, and had chosen the places that they were going to visit. Both of his friends trusted the Canadian to take them to interesting places, so everyone climbed into Matthew's car in good spirits.

Prussia sat up front in the passenger seat, grinning to himself and looking out the window, with Gilbird perched upon his head. Romano sprawled out in the backseat, with Kumajiro resting on his lap.

"So where to first Birdie?" Prussia asked, settling back in his seat. "I was thinking Niagara falls." The blonde responded, as the car moved down the road.

"That's a huge waterfall isn't it?" Romano said from the back, receiving a nod from his Canadian friend. "Mhm, there's a great view of it, and other things we can do."

"Cool." Prussia grinned and switched on the radio, searching for a station with his music he liked. After a solid twenty minutes of moving between stations, Prussia groaned loudly and gained the attention of his two friends.

"What's wrong with you bastard?" Romano questioned, while he stroked Kumajiro's soft fur. He had been a little apprehensive about the polar bear cub, but Kuma proved to be extremely docile.

"These radio stations suck!" Gilbert whined, and shot a glare in Canada's direction. Canada pouted. "My radio stations aren't bad."

"Yeah they are." Romano piped up from the back seat. "Half of them are in French too; I can't deal with that for much longer." Canada frowned slightly. "You do realize that I speak French….and a good deal of my people speak it as well."

Romano shrugged. "I can't change the fact that I hate the language." The Canadian sighed and focused on the road.

"As I was trying to say," Gilbert interrupted breaking the silence. "The music on your stations sucks! And I refuse to go on this trip without awesome music." Canada resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "I have music on my phone." He pulled out the device and handed it to Prussia.

The albino immediately began going through his playlist, but froze and looked up at his friend. "So…the music on this phone is what you usually listen to?" Matthew furrowed his brow and nodded. "Well yeah…why?"

Prussia stared at Canada for a moment. "The type of music you listen to says a lot about you as a person…" Gilbert pressed play and Burn by Elie Goulding began. Matthew's face flushed. "U-um…" Romano looked up from the back seat. "This is what you listen to Matteo?"

"I just happen to like that song…there's nothing wrong with that." Matthew mumbled. Prussia scoffed. "Just that song? I think you mean every song that she's ever made, because that's what you have on your phone." Canada blushed darker. "H-hush there's nothing wrong with her music…"

Romano chuckled from the back seat, but didn't say anything. Gilbert fell silent as he began going through his friend's playlist again; calling out the names of various songs and groups he had on the device. Most of the things he called out received a snort from Romano and another comment from Gil that caused Matthew to blush darkly.

Gilbert did actually play a few songs from Matthew's phone, the few which he actually liked. After a while Matthew actually did get tired of being picked on for his choice of music. "Why don't you play something? Instead of criticizing my choice of music."

Gilbert shook his head. "I bet Roma will hate all of the music that I have." Romano sat up. "You don't know that. Play it." Gilbert glanced back at him. "My music is pretty hardcore, mostly rock or rap…I don't know if you can handle it." He pulled his phone out. Lovino quickly snatched the device and went to his playlist, he snorted. "This is hardcore?" He pressed play on Let her go by Passenger.

Matthew chuckled a little from the driver's seat. "That's a nice song." Gilbert huffed. "It's a good song okay."

Romano rolled his eyes and began to read out the various groups on Gilbert's phone much like the albino had done to Matthew. "Hm looks like we have some Panic at the disco, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, Green day, Fall out Boy, Three days grace, and The Fray…really hardcore potato head."

"You're skipping over all the hardcore bands!" Gilbert whined, as Romano chuckled. "It's basically the same things that Matteo had…you know minus the Elie Goulding and Bruno Mars." Canada pouted again. "Can we just stop making fun of each other's music and find something that all of us like…"

Gilbert looked at him. "Is there anything that all three of us like…?" Matthew pursued his lips. "There has to be something right?"

The rest of the ride was spent trying to find music that all three friends actually liked fairly well.

A/N: I'm sorry to say that all of my chapters will probably take this long to come out, due to the struggle that is school work. But I'm still striving to update more often. Each review and favorite I get encourages me to write more so thanks for the support guys. I'd love to hear what all of you think the perfect song for these three would be n.n The songs and groups used are some of the music that I personally listen to, and I kind of feel bad that I don't know Canadian, Italian or German groups to use…but tis all I've got.
