We don't own Ghost Hunt!

Later on that night Mai and Naru were sitting on the couch together. Mai's arms still ached from having to carry all the stuff from her apartment. The stupid jerk didn't even offer to help her. Still, he had allowed her to have a nap and had ordered some take-out for dinner. She guessed that made up for it...a little. And how he had remembered what her favourite foods were she didn't know. She didn't think he knew things like that or even paid attention to them. She guessed that goes to show her. It made her smile that he was that thoughtful or at least could be. He could really confuse her sometimes. She decided to shrug off her confusion as it would just make her head ache in the end.

Mai shifted a bit so she was a little closer to Naru. Naru turned his head towards her when he felt her move. Mai paused and gave a sheepish grin. Naru lifted an eyebrow at her.

"W-What?" Mai asked.

"I was just wondering what the sheepish smile was for." Naru replied. Mai bit her lip and shrugged. Naru found Mai's behaviour rather amusing. She was trying to act like she hadn't moved closer to him. It made Naru smirk a little. She really was something. It made him realize all the more why he loved her. He truly did. That feeling made him smile even more. He couldn't wait until they switched bodies again. He wanted to prove to her how much he loved her. He wanted to kiss her more than anything right now...

Maybe he could try, he could just go for it and see what happens...No, they really needed to sort out their arguing problem first. But...who knows how long that could take?! He bit his lip. No...he shouldn't do it. At least not right now. After he had made his mind up he relaxed a little knowing a decision was made. But he still wanted her with him—close to him. Honestly, he didn't want her to leave his side.

Mai shifted again so she was even closer to Naru. Naru had to hold back a smirk. He thought her actions right now were really cute. If only he was in his body then he'd wrap his arms around her. He felt a little sad that he wasn't in his own body. He's so small and fragile in Mai's. He wanted to be back in his own body so he felt more able to protect her. It was just wrong the other way around. He didn't want Mai protecting him anyway, it made him feel even weaker than he currently was. Although...he did beat that guy up at Mai's school. That was pretty awesome. Naru really did smirk this time. It was the one thing about being a girl he'd enjoyed the most. Ha, he imagined what he could do to that guy in his body. Thinking about that really made him smile.

"Why do you keep smiling and smirking to yourself?" Mai questioned with an eyebrow raised.

"I was just thinking about something." Naru said.

"Obviously." Mai teased with a smile.

"Am I not allowed my own private thoughts?" He asked. At Naru's sudden snappiness, Mai raised both brows. "Sorry." He apologized. Mai gave a nod but didn't say anything. Naru let out a sigh. "I really am sorry. I didn't mean to be so snappy."

Mai shook her head. "It's fine." He gave her a grateful smile. "Ne, Naru..."

"Yes Mai?"

"We have to go to the office tomorrow, right?" She asked.

"Yes, we do. What are you getting at?" Naru replied in confusion.

"We still haven't gotten our revenge on Lin for telling Monk and Ayako about our living arrangements you know." She simply replied as she gave Naru a sideways glance with a smirk. A shrewd look came over Naru's face as he was reminded of this fact.

"No, I suppose we haven't have we?" He inquired with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Mai smirked as she shook her head.

"What do you think we should do?" She asked.

"Hmm, to be honest, what with all that's been going on I haven't really thought about it." He admitted. Mai nodded in understanding.

"I haven't either." She said. "But maybe we'll be able to now!"

"Have you got any suggestions?" Naru questioned. Mai thought about it for a bit. Her face was scrunched in concentration.

"Not really..." She said dejectedly. "I mean you know him better than I do."

"That's true." He conceded.

"Have you thought of anything yet?" Mai asked.

Naru sighed and shook his head. "Not at the moment." They both let out a sigh of frustration. What could they do to Lin...? Maybe they could do something to Lin's precious laptop. Naru visibly smirked at the thought. 'It's perfect.' He looked over at Mai to tell her. But he found that she had a smirk on her face too. He lifted an eyebrow at her.

"I'm guessing you thought of something too by the look on your...my...face." Naru stated.

"I did." Mai confirmed. "You go first though. What's your idea?"

"Lin's laptop." He replied shortly. "I know for a fact that he would go crazy if something happened to it."

"I was thinking the same thing." She said. "But what do we do to it?"

"For right now we should just take it. Then we can decide on what to do with it later. We can't let Lin suspect it was us who took it though... We need to blame it on Yasuhara somehow."

"How though?" Mai mused. "...And why Yasu?" She asked him thoughtfully.

"I'm not sure yet and because he is the only other person who works in the office." Naru answered.

"Hmm, true." Mai nodded and crossed her arms.

"Do you have any idea how we could do it?" Naru questioned.

"About taking the laptop or blaming it on Yasu?" She questioned.

"Both." He replied.

"Well..." She began. "What if we get Lin to go on some kind of errand for you...well me? And we'll tell him that we'll be late coming into the office though so he knows we won't be there and only Yasu's there. While Lin's off doing the errand we'll go to the office and get his laptop. But we'll just have to distract Yasu so he won't know." She planned out.

"Hmm, sounds good but how do we distract Yasuhara?" Naru asked. "Also we should probably be wary of any hidden cameras in Lin's office." He informed.

"Ehh...you'll probably have to be the one who distracts Yasu." Mai said sympathetically. "Why does Lin have cameras in his office?!" Naru let out a sigh at the first part before explaining the answer to Mai's question.

"He has cameras in his office for times such as these when I need to take my revenge on him."

Mai cocked an eyebrow. "This isn't the first time you've done this?" She didn't think Naru was the type to do this, especially on his own.

"Of course not." Naru shrugged.

"R-Really?!"

"You forget who suggested we get revenge on Lin in the first place." He informed. Mai closed her eyes as sighed, realizing he was right.

"Wait!" She said in semi panic suddenly remembering something from a few weeks ago. "You...you don't have cameras in your office...do you?" She asked nervously.

"No...why?" Naru questioned confusedly.

"Oh, no reason..." She said feeling relieved. Who knows what Naru would've done if he found out her and Monk snuck into his office some time ago while he was out. "Just wondering is all." He gave her a suspicious look. Mai innocently shifted her gaze to everything in the room except Naru.

"Mai...?" Naru asked.

"Hmm?"

"Why did you want to know if I have cameras in my office?"

"Well you said Lin had them...so I just wondered if you...had them too..." She answered while still not looking at him.

"However that makes you sound like you're guilty of something and want to make sure there's no evidence. That wouldn't be true now would it, Mai?" He questioned. "And when you answer make sure you look me in the eye." He added. Mai pressed her lips together. She didn't turn her head towards him but she did move her eyes on him so she was looking at him.

"Nope." She said, making the 'p' pop. "That's not true at all."

"Really?" He asked in a silky voice. A voice he was trying to use to entice the truth out of Mai. She finally turned her head towards him and gave him a 'seriously?' look.

"Naru, that's not going to work on me with you using my own voice." She stated giving him a blank look. Naru just pouted. Mai smirked and let out a laugh. That made Naru pout more. "But I can do it." She purred in the silky voice Naru had tried to do. Naru swallowed slightly. Mai smirked and moved her face closer to Naru's.

"Uh...M-Mai?"

"Yes Naru?" Mai crooned as she moved even closer.

"W-What are you d-doing?"

Mai just smirked at him. 'He's blushing!' She thought. He was also blinking rapidly. She grinned somewhat seductively at him. Naru opened his mouth as though he wanted to say something then closed it again a few times. He wasn't sure whether to back away from Mai or not. Part of his mind was yelling at him not to while the other was screaming to move away since he didn't know what would happen. It made him freeze as he was so confused. 'Maybe this would be a good chance to finally kiss her!' A voice somewhere inside his head said.

He half liked that idea but the other half was worried about any repercussions and also they still hadn't sorted out their fighting so maybe now wasn't a good time after all. Before he had come to a conclusion, Mai already pulled away from him. 'Damn it!' Was the only thought that entered his mind. Mai chuckled at the expression on his face. Naru scowled at her.

"What?" Mai asked knowingly. He just shook his head. Smiling, Mai poked his cheek. Naru tried to grab her finger as her poking was annoying. But Mai was too quick for him. It made Naru huff and try again. Finally, after countless pokes and trying to grab Mai's finger, Naru was able to get it.

"Ahh, ow, ow...I'm stronger than I look." Mai complained as she rubbed her finger after Naru had released it.

"I've noticed that too..." Naru mused as he stared at his hand thoughtfully. "It's handy." He concluded.

"Hmm...I guess so." Mai agreed. "Since I found out I have strength that I didn't know I had, maybe I won't need protecting from everyone now."

"Don't get your hopes up." Naru declared as he frowned at what she'd said. Mai frowned also.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Exactly what I said. I wouldn't get your hopes up about not being protected from others." A disbelieving sound escaped her lips.

"Why not?" She asked curiously, furrowing her brows together.

"Because I wouldn't be able to rest unless you were protected." Naru informed. Mai's eyes slightly widened; her heart skipped a beat.

"I...um...I don't know what to say." She admitted faintly. Naru glanced at her. She looked like she was going to cry. He felt a twinge of worry began to build up in his chest. 'Why is she crying?!' Then he saw the smile on her face also. 'Oh...it's happy crying...' He figured out.

Mai was still feeling overwhelmed at the amount of care Naru was admitting he had for her. Never in a million years did she think he would before today. In fact sometimes she swore he was a robot. He always tries to act like he has no emotions. It can be so irritating. "Ahh...um, sorry..." She apologized.

"It's okay Mai." Naru replied. "But I meant what I said."

"That really means a lot coming from you Naru." Mai smiled. She then decided to hug him to show how happy she was. Naru was a little stunned at the sudden hug at first. Eventually he started to hug her back though. He couldn't help but do it.

"Um...Naru...I think we need to stop now." Mai stuttered.

"...Why?" Naru questioned, although he did have a suspicion as to why.

"The...um...the 'problem' has returned."

Naru paused before pulling away from Mai just enough so he could look at her. Sure enough Mai was right. He averted his gaze upwards and saw Mai had her eyes closed and a little blush dusting her cheeks.

"Sorry." She apologized. He wanted to laugh. It's not like she can really help it all that much. It was also nice for her to prove to him that his body was normal in every way. Truth be told he actually felt relieved it was since he never had 'that problem' before. But he had a feeling that once they switch back, he'll be experiencing it a lot more often...

He wasn't sure whether that would be a good thing or not.

"It's...fine, Mai." He assured. Mai still looked worried about what had just happened though. 'It's more embarrassing than last time...!' Naru put a hand on her arm to get her to look at him. Hesitantly, she finally did as told. "It's fine." He insisted with a genuine caring smile when he had her attention. Mai took a deep breath and tried to calm down to get rid of 'the problem.' She nodded at what Naru had said.

"You better be glad you don't have this problem..." She mumbled under her breath.

"I have a feeling I might after we switch back." Naru replied. Mai looked at him in surprise. "What?" He asked.

"Ah...n-nothing..." She stated, trying not to blush. Naru lifted an eyebrow at her. Mai shifted her gaze away from him once more as she tried to avoid his gaze.

"Mai?" He questioned as he was starting to grow concerned by her behaviour. Mai inwardly groaned. Did he really not know what he just said?! Or maybe he was unashamed of what he had said, that was also a possibility. It was unlikely but still a possibility. 'Okay, it doesn't matter! Just forget about it!'

Naru let out a yawn. Hearing him, Mai glanced at Naru.

"If you're sleepy you should go ahead to bed." She said.

"It still hasn't been changed." He replied. Mai was so very close to smacking her forehead on her palm. He couldn't have done that while she had been gone or something? She stood up and sighed.

"Alright, fine, I'll go change it." She declared before going to the bedroom. Naru followed after her. When he got in there she was already taking the sheets off. He went over to help her. Mai didn't say nothing though. She knew telling him to 'let her do it' would just make him stubborn.

Naru grabbed the pillows and began trying to work out how to take the covers off. Normally Lin or Madoka would do this for him as they knew how single minded he was when it came to work. With much effort though, he was able to do it. He decided that rather than embarrass himself further by attempting to strip another part of the bed he would go look for some clean linen to put on the bed instead.

Mai smiled as Naru left the room. She'd found it rather entertaining watching Naru fight with the pillows. And now she knew why Naru didn't want to change the bed—he didn't know how. She almost laughed at that. But it seems the great Naru can't do any housework whatsoever. How he was still alive she didn't know. Apparently he must be very dependent on Lin...and the takeaway company. Maybe it was a good thing she was here after all. The man was hopeless. Starting tomorrow she would make sure there were fresh groceries and home cooked meals in this apartment. Naru appeared back into the bedroom a few moments later. His arms were full of all kinds of things. Mai raised an eyebrow and went over to him.

"Naru, why did you think we need a rubber ducky?" She asked. "And a loaf of bread? And..." She took another look at the things he'd brought. "...Why on earth did you think we need a box of eggs?" Naru also looked down at the things he brought and bit his lip before shrugging. Mai shook her head. What was she going to do with him? What on earth made him think they would need any of this? She let out a sigh before going to find the linen cupboard. She beckoned for Naru to follow her so she could show him what he was supposed to get. She pulled out the items she needed and showed them to Naru who was blushing. She smiled.

"It's alright to make mistakes Naru..." She said. "It's how we learn." Naru still just looked embarrassed from his earlier mistakes. Mai put a hand on his shoulder. "Come on, I'll teach you how to change the bed." He sighed and nodded before following her back to the bedroom. Mai placed the pile of bedding on a chair. And then she proceeded in telling Naru what to do. Soon enough they had accomplished their task. Even though there were a few dodgy moments here and there like when Naru got trapped in the duvet cover. But other than that things went nicely. Mai collected all the dirty laundry, deposited it in the washing machine then returned to the bedroom and let out a sigh.

"There," She told Naru with a small smile. "Now you can sleep."

"Would you sleep with me?" He asked.
