There was a rapping at Kenna and Tiaoshi's door the next morning. Kenna, who was in the bathroom, brushing her teeth, quickly spit out the water she was swishing with and answered the door. To her surprise, it was Lavi.

"Lavi?" Kenna's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What are you doing here at this time of day?"
"Komui needs you, Lenalee and I in his office." The eye-patched man explained. "He will let you know what the emergency is when we get there."
Kenna sighed, "Okay. Hold on a second." Quietly closing the door, she took a couple of minutes to finish brushing her teeth and get into her suit, then followed the orange-haired man to Komui's office.

"Oh, there you are!" the head officer exclaimed when the two arrived. "I was wondering what was taking you so long."
Kenna yawned, still a tad sleepy, "I was getting ready after eating breakfast." She then looked around at the room, which was cluttered with books and papers as usual. "Anyways, what is the rush?"

Letting out a deep sigh, Komui stood up, and fixed his glasses. Grabbing a book beside him, he flipped through some pages, then stopped at one page that was unfamiliar to Kenna.

"I need you two, including Lenalee," he nods over to his sister, who is sitting on the couch, "To go to Germany. The Noah have come back, and are trying to find out something that we don't know of, probably Innocence or something else."
"...The Noah?"
"Lavi will inform you about them when you three get there. But be careful in Germany. The Noah have arrived in there, along with other akuma, so if you see them, you'd better watch your back, because that could mean trouble."

The brunette let that confusing, but easy to comprehend statement sink into her head, and then she nodded, letting the chief know that she understood.

"Okay, then!" Komui clapped his hands, completely changing the subject and his mood. "Then you guys will set off. You three won't need the boat this time, but something else."

"A train? A car?" Kenna wondered.
Komui looked at Kenna. "Have you ever been to Germany?"
"Yes, but only when I was little. Why?"
Kenna did not have to let Komui answer that question. Her eyes widened, and she sighed. She would have to teleport Lavi, Lenalee, and herself to the European state. "Alright. I get it."

She then nodded over to Lavi and Lenalee. She took hold of Lavi's hand with her left hand, and Lenalee's with the opposite hand. Closing her eyes, the trio disappeared from the room, no longer in sight.

_

Kenna, Lavi, and Lenalee were standing outside by a German bakery when they arrived. The brunette casted her eyes upon the scenery, feeling suddenly warm and happy.
"...It's been a long time since I've been here in Germany." The brown-eyed girl smiled. "So many memories."
The black-haired woman looked at her, "Yeah, same here. Allen and I had to do a mission here three years ago. I really didn't try much of the food here, but with Allen's usual appetite when he's around food, he says that it was really good."

Kenna let a laugh escape her throat. After a few minutes with the trio just standing there, doing nothing, Kenna's eyebrows knitted, her face assembled in agitation. The mentioning of the Noah was nagging at her mind. She then casted her eyes upon Lavi, and gave him a weird look, since he somehow had a bagel in his hands, chewing on it.

"What?" Lavi asked. "I was just hungry."
Kenna exhaled. Lavi was reminding her of Allen now. "..Lavi, what are the Noah, exactly?"
Taking a second to finish off the rest of his bagel, Lavi stifled a burp, "They are a group of fourteen humans whom have had the so-called 'Noah gene' inside them, which is activated in their bodies. They follow the will of Noah, and, of course, the Millennium Earl. Every so often, a gene within any normal human, called the 'Noah gene', awakens, turning that human into a Noah, causing them to fall under the influence of Noah's hatred and memories stored within their blood." He took another second to let out another belch. "They're also known as the descendants of Noah, the ones that survived the Great Flood-or documented in the Cube of Innocence as the 'Three Days of Darkness'. And to state a fact, the Millennium Earl is one of them."

Kenna felt a little dizzy, trying to let all of that information rest inside her head. "...Ah, okay." She then looked around, "So where do we go to find the Innocence? That must be why Komui sent us here, right?"
A brief moment of silence passed by, and the orange-haired man and Lenalee gave her a serious look, one that was of concern.

"I don't think so." Lenalee said, pursing her lips. "...It's something else."
Seeing that Lavi and Lenalee didn't want to talk about the discussion further, Kenna let the question subside.
All of sudden, the group head footsteps, and a girl with dark-blue,spiky hair appeared. She had her school uniform on, which was a laced shirt at the sleeves and neck, with a bow surrounding the top of the shirt. She wore a short skirt, and purple and pink striped socks. Her eyes were an unusual purple.
Lenalee's eyes widened; she somehow seemed, to Kenna's surprise, able to recognize who that girl was. The black-haired girl then resented to her normal expression, having noticed Kenna looking at her.

The spiky-haired girl noticed the trio near the bakery, and waved. Kenna, confused and a little nervous, waved back, but Lenalee gently put her hand on Kenna's arm, and put Kenna's arm down. The brunette gave her a baffled look, but Lenalee gave her a look that Kenna understood, one that said, Don't do it. Kenna sighed.

The girl that was standing a few feet away from them, sighed and walked away, throwing a piece of bubble gum into her mouth. As the trio watched the weird-looking girl go out of their sight and into the busy streets, letting bubbles escape from her mouth, Lenalee and Lavi looked at Kenna.

A couple beads of sweat ran down Kenna's face, "What?...Did I do something wrong, guys?"
The other two exorcists shook their heads, "No, not at all."
"It's just that...that girl looks familiar." Lenalee added.
"She does?" Kenna said, her eyes widened in surprise.

Lenalee nodded, then smiled, changing the subject. "...But let's not worry about it now. Does a stroll around Germany sound good to you guys?"

Kenna and Lavi both nodded, and the trio set off.

During their walk around Germany, Kenna and Lenalee stopped by a few markets, running into people along the way, and talked to them for a while. Lavi, on the other hand, was ahead of them, buying all sorts of treats from other German bakeries.

After the trio was done with their tour, they sat down on one of the benches. Lenalee looked somewhat bored, her eyebrows furrowing in annoyance to hear the sounds of Lavi eating right next to her. Kenna was feeling the same, too, wondering why Komui sent them on this mission. Like Lenalee said, it wasn't to gather Innocence, it was about something else. Thinking back to what happened earlier, Kenna thought about that one girl, and the unusual appearance she had. Resting her chin on her hand, the brunette played that scene again in her head. For some odd reason, she could sense that the girl wasn't like the other humans in this city...she was somehow different than them. That spiky, dark blue hair, and those scary- looking eyes made Kenna feel uneasy. Drips of sweat ran down from her forehead. Why was she sensing this? Could that girl be not what Kenna thinks she is,which is a normal human?

"...Kenna." Lavi said, breaking Kenna's train of thoughts. "Are you okay?"
Kenna's brown hair moved swiftly with her as she turned to look at the orange-haired man, "I'm fine. Why?"
Lavi rested his hands on the back of his head, "Well, you looked nervous about something, not to mention that you were staring off into the distance."
"Staring off in the distance...?"
The 18-year old nodded, "Yeah. Is something bothering you?"
Kenna thought for a minute about what she was sensing, and felt like telling Lavi what she was thinking about, but then decided to object that; she didn't want Lenalee and Lavi worried about her. "No, not at all."

Right as she said that, the sound of canons getting ready to fire got the three exorcists' attention.
They quickly stood up, and saw that a horde of level two akuma were surrounding them, and got ready to battle, with Kenna activating her powers.
Lenalee's boots began to unwind, and the teal aura from before began to radiate from the diamond embedded on her shoes. With her boots now a few inches above her ankles, she soars into the air.
Lavi, on the other hand, takes a small hammer out of his pocket, and spins it in his hand.
"Big hammer, little hammer, grow, grow, GROW!" The orange-haired man demanded, his hammer listening to his commands. The hammer, now as humongous as a giant, almost knocked Kenna off her feet when she saw it.
How in the world did he just do that? Kenna wondered.

The trio then fought off the akuma. Lavi was having an easy time defeating them with his hammer, but Kenna on the other hand, wasn't. For some weird reason, the orbs and bolts that she sent at the akuma weren't working; they only kept on bouncing off of them. Kenna felt that guilt from before come back, and she gritted her teeth. What was making her feel this way?

All of a sudden, one of the akuma lifted up its arm, which was in the shape of a cannon, and shot a huge fireball right at the brunette, catching her off guard. She went flying back into the sky, blood expelling from a huge wound caused by the evolved demon.

The impact stopped when Kenna hit hard into an old tower, small parts of the building falling off as Kenna slid down to the ground, badly wounded.
After Lenalee and Lavi finished off the rest of the demons, they both looked around.
"Kenna?" Lenalee called, seeing that Kenna wasn't there. "Kenna!"

There was no response.

"Dang it..." the brunette muttered to herself, looking at her hands, which were bruised, and small amounts of the aura shooting out of them. "...That stupid...akuma...caught me off guard...now my powers...are gone, and my Innocence...is useless..."

"Did you say Innocence?" a voice asked, making Kenna jump and cast her eyes upon whom the voice came from.
It was no other than the spiky-haired girl from before.
That thought from before raced into Kenna's mind as her eyes met with the girl's. Beads of sweat ran down Kenna's face, "Y-Yes..."
The girl stuck out her hand, "Then let me help you, ma'am, and I will enable your powers again."

The brunette goes to ask if the girl is positive, and with a nod from the girl, she disappears with Kenna, the loud scream echoing from the tower and shooting Lavi and Lenalee in the ear.

The two exorcists look in the direction of where the scream came from.
"Oh god..." Lavi's face turned into one of horror, "Don't tell me that the Noah captured Kenna..."
Lenalee didn't say a word. They both go to find Kenna, but another horde of akuma appear, and knocked the two exorcists out.

The brunette felt dizzy as she started to come to. She looked around, noticing that she wasn't in Germany anymore, but in a different realm of some sort. The air was a hazy mixture of purple and pink, and there was no walls, except for the one in the far left corner. The brunette suddenly felt woozy, and she started to close her eyes, drifting off into the darkness again, but a sudden giggle made her return back to her senses.

She went to move forward, but pain quickly shot through her body, and her back slammed into the barbed wire behind her. She heard the sounds of metal clanging, so her eyes cast upon her body, which, to her surprise, was chained up. The young woman then looked at her hands, and gasped in horror. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, needles going through them, but oddly was not causing any blood to expel out. Kenna's eyes shot open, and she looked away from the horrible sight, hearing that devious chuckle once again shoot through her ears.

Kenna quickly lifted her head up, only to come face-to-face with the girl from before. She inhaled a sharp breath of air. What in the world was she doing here? And how did she get here?

"Oh, I see you're awake." The spiky-haired girl said, slowly walking over to the exorcist. "You exorcists aren't as smart as you're cracked up to be."
Kenna's eyes widened in anger, "...You! What did you do to me?!"
The girl chuckled. "What did I do to you? I helped you out."

The brunette growled, "You did not! You tricked me, you little brat!" She then looked around, her hair flying with the direction of her head, "And where is Lavi? Lenalee? What have you done with them?!"

"Well...see for yourself." With a fluid-like gesture of her hand, she motioned to her left, and the brunette gritted her teeth in anger when she saw her two fellow exorcists in the huge barriers.

Lavi's hammer laid to his side, broken in half. He looked kind of a comatose, his eyes were wide open, which sent chills down Kenna's back.
Lenalee, on the other hand, was lying face down on the ground, seemingly unmoving. She appeared dead. Maybe Lavi was trying to protect the black-haired woman, but he didn't succeed.

Kenna then shot a dirty look at the Noah. "How could you do such a thing?...And who are you anyways?"
Ignoring the brunette's primary question, the girl giggled. "Do you really want to know?"

Kenna watched in astonishment as the girl's skin suddenly transitioned from a healthy flesh to that of a dull gray color. A wreath of crosses then emerged along the girl's forehead, disappearing near the apex of her temples. Having Lero in her hand, she threw it in the air, then caught it, resting it along her shoulders.

"I'm Road Kamelot, the Noah of Dreams. I am one of the true apostles of God, the descendents of Noah."

The true apostles of God? That thought ran through Kenna's head. She remembered Lavi telling her about the Noah, how they were the descendents of Noah, the Noah's ark...but the true apostles of God? How can that be?

Kenna didn't bother to say a word, she gritted her teeth in anger, and went to lean forward again, but the pain from before shot through her, and threw her back against the wall.
"You do know that you can't break those chains, exorcist." Road chuckled, a sinister grin coming across her face.
"I-I can't?"

The Noah nodded, "Your powers are going to be useless against it, and so will your fellow friend's anti-akuma weapons. They won't even put a dent on those chains, let alone the needles."
Hearing Road mention her powers, Kenna's eyes widened. "My powers? What do you mean they're useless?"

"It's for me to know, and for you to find out, brown-eyed girl." Road smiled as she walked over to the Earl's throne, and plopped down into it. She looked like a little kid pretending to be a king or a queen, due to the size of the huge throne.

Kenna growled, her anger was rising now, almost to 100 percent. She clenched her fists, and screamed in pain as the needles dug into her hands. When she unfolded them, she saw only small amounts of her Innocence escape from her hand, then disappear into thin air.

Kenna's eyes filled with tears, born of anger. She realized that Road didn't help her enable her powers, they were still disabled. And those needles were keeping her from enabling them. The brunette then looked down at the ground, her hair flowing with her. She closed her eyes, and concentrated, conjuring a misty blue aura around her. She then let her mind take charge and threw the attack at the Noah, but it didn't work; the aura disintegrated before it could even hit the girl.

"Nice try." Road said, crossing her legs, waiting for the next move that Kenna might send.
The brunette could not take it any longer. She tries to lean forward from the wall one last time, but then small candles, with sharp tips, were propelled at Kenna, and penetrated her upper chest, pinning her to the wall.
Short gasps of air came from her throat; crimson liquid leaked from her wounds. Kenna tried to breathe, but the candles dug into her flesh, making that impossible to do.
She suddenly heard an insane laugh came from Road as she walked towards the female exorcist.

Leaning down to meet eyes with Kenna, Road smirked, then, to Kenna's surprise, hugged her across the waist.
"You amuse me." Road said. "I think I'll keep you here."
Kenna winced in pain, but growled when she heard Road's words. She didn't want to be here for eternity with this little brat.
A demonic giggle came from the Noah's throat, "It gets lonely without another human here."

Confusion set inside Kenna's heart. Road was a human, just like she was? ...No wonder the brunette was getting that feeling from before. When she and her friends first encountered the Noah, she got that sudden feeling about Road being a normal human being. Even though she was part of the Noah, one of the descendants, she was one of them. But another question suddenly came into her mind: Why was this Noah partnering up with the akuma?

As she went to ask this question, a sudden blow shot through Kenna's ears, and she turned to see Road, smoke penetrating from her face as she fell to the ground. Kenna gasped in horror. Did the Noah just commit suicide?
After a few minutes passed, Kenna felt a tug at her sleeve and saw as Road got up, and Kenna held back a scream, seeing Road's face. It was no longer one of a dull gray color, but of one that was crimson, her skin was gone. Flesh replaced it, and Kenna could see the eyeballs and teeth of Road.

"...So would you like to join us, Kenna?" Road smirked, her voice somehow creepy, a mix of her normal voice and one of a monster's.
Kenna went to object, but then saw as Road's face quickly went from all muscle back to its default skin tone again. She then heard Lavi coming to, along with Lenalee.
The young bookman dug his fingers into his head, scratching at it. His eyes were no longer a milky white, they were back to normal. Lenalee's arms shook as she sat up, still feeling a little dazed.

They both looked over at Kenna, but due to still being a tad conscious, the brunette was only a blur to them. But as they rubbed their eyes, their mouths dropped open in horror. They saw Kenna sitting on the ground, with the chains around her, the needles piercing her hands, and the candles digging into her chest. Road was no longer clenching Kenna's sleeve, she was back on her feet, with a candle floating beside her.

The orange-haired man felt anger flow inside him, and went to reach for his hammer, but saw that it was split in two. Lavi felt baffled, not knowing how that happened. The black-haired lady's hands throbbed, clenched in hatred at seeing Road again, the Noah from her past. She then closed her eyes, and let her Innocence invocate, but her boots somehow malfunctioned, and didn't unwind as usual. She gasped, and attempted it one more time, but failed again.

Kenna looked up at Road, a growl coming from her throat. The Noah tapped its foot on the floor, waiting for her answer. "...Well?"
The brunette closed her eyes, feeling them change as her frustration grew inside her. Her hair started to flow quickly, as if there was wind blowing in the realm. Small amounts of fire started to crackle, and slowly emerged into her hair, turning it from her normal brown color to a fiery-like orange, rising up into the air, and moving like wildfire. Her turtleneck underneath her exorcist suit turned from a sky blue to a crimson red, and her skirt transitioned into a jet black color. Claws started to emerge from her nails, and when she opened her eyes, they were no longer matching her brown hair. They now matched her orange hair, but instead of it looking like a normal human's, it was demonic, her pupil an odd milky white.

A sudden roar came from Kenna, and making a gasp appear from Road's throat, she slashes through the chains, and splits the needles in half. She then stood up, and conjured two fireballs in her hands.
"What makes you think a brat like you would want me to join the Noah Clan?" The exorcist's voice was a mixture of her own and a demon's, almost sounding like Road's a few minutes ago.

Road's eyes widened, and she stepped back a few feet, astonished at Kenna's transformation. Lavi and Lenalee stared at Kenna in surprise.
"Whoa!" Lavi shouted. "Talk about getting furious! She just turned into a live fireball!"
"Oh, I wouldn't say that." Lenalee smiled. "That anger must've made her unleash a new form of her Innocence."
Just as she said this, the barrier that was holding them shattered, and they landed safely on the floor.

Lavi glanced over at his anti-akuma weapon, and looked confused; his hammer was one again, like nothing even happened to it in the first place. Lenalee looked down at her boots, and seeing that Lavi's hammer was restored, tried to attempt invocating her Innocence once more. Seeing the teal aura come from her boots, she sighed in relief, then the two got into their battle positions.

"Hey, Road!" Lenalee said, causing the Noah to turn and look at the now conscious exorcists.
Road, still shocked from Kenna's transformation, smirked, "Long time, no see, exorcists. It looks like you two got through the barrier." She sighed. "Oh, well. I was planning of keeping you guys here too with your little friend here, but that won't happen."

Right as the Noah finished her sentence, a huge ball of fire hit her in the back of her head, making her stumble and hit face-first on the ground. Kenna then morphed the fireball in her hands from an orb to a huge bolt. Before Kenna could even propel that at Road, Lavi and Lenalee rushed over.

Hearing their footsteps, she quickly turned, her eyes widening in surprise, "Lavi? Lenalee? How did you guys break through that barricade that Road created? And how were you guys able to move again?"

The two exorcists looked at each other, then smiled when they met eyes with Kenna.
"Let's just say it was all thanks to you, Kenna." Lenalee said, putting her hand on Kenna's shoulder. "You broke through those chains and needles, even though they looked like they were impossible to destroy."
"And it was your anger that reactivated your powers, brunette." Lavi laughed a little. "I've got to say, that's one of the most powerful emotions."

A slight smile came from Kenna's lips, "It is. To be honest, I've had this form for a few months. It's not a new understanding of Innocence, it's one of my powers. I will explain it later after we finish this unruly child off."

Turning to face the Noah, who was holding the back of its head in pain, they got ready to battle. A smirk came across Road's mouth, and she pointed up to the sky, candles coming down and floating around her.

"There's no way you're going to get out of here, fellow exorcists." Road said, a demonic giggle coming from her throat. "Not with these candles in your way!"

She then pointed to the trio, and the candles propelled at them. Lavi took the first turn; he muttered a few words, and a row of holographic stamps surrounded him. Choosing the one that stood for fire in Japanese, the stamp then duplicated itself onto the ends of Lavi's hammer.
"Fire stamp!" Lavi yelled, and the candles turned into ashes.

Road sent more candles at them, but the trio kept on getting rid of them easily. Seeing that she had no more weapons left, she gnarled, but then an idea came into her head. Letting a insane laugh escape her throat, she snapped her fingers, and a horde of akuma came in.

Looking over her shoulder at the demons, she nodded over to the three exorcists. The akuma instantly obliged, and charged at the trio.
Lenalee bent down on one knee, and flew into the air. Seeing an akuma coming towards her, she thrusted her leg forward, breaking it through the akuma's head, and watched it disintegrate. She then looked over at the orange-haired exorcists, "I'll take care of these four! You two handle the rest!"

Understanding her command, Kenna and Lavi nodded, and turned to look at the rest of the akuma. The fire stamp still blazed on Lavi's hammer, so he thrust it forward, hitting it smack right in the demons' faces, watching them scream in pain as they disappeared.
Kenna, who still had the bolt in her hands, threw it at another row of akuma, the demons instantly exploding when the bolt sliced through them.
After a few more akuma came, only to be defeated by the exorcists, Road yawned, and got up from the throne.

"Well, that was a bore." Road's expression went from a happy one to an uninterested one. "It was fun watching you three suffer and scream in pain, and send those candles and akuma to end your puny lives...but it became a real bother." Sighing, she started to walk away from them, and stopped when a door suddenly emerged from the floor. It looked more like a wardrobe, to be honest, with the doors designed with purple and black diamonds, gold outlining the outside of it. The door slowly opened as Road went to set foot inside.

Taking one last look at the exorcists, she smirked, a demonic giggle coming from her throat, "May we meet again, if the Earl assigns me on another fun mission." She then casted her eyes upon the brunette. "And the same goes for you, too, Kenna."

Kenna's heart stopped when she heard Road say her name. How did she even know Kenna's name, since Road has not even met her before? The brunette watched as Road turned away from them, and disappeared. The female exorcist went to ask a question to the Noah, but then felt her head spinning. The room suddenly started to spin while the trio stood still. The realm that they were in started to disappear right before their eyes, and in the blink of an eye, they landed back in Germany again.

The trio looked at each other in astonishment, confused of what just happened. Relieved that the incident with Road is over, Kenna took hold of Lavi and Lenalee's hands, and the trio teleported back to the exorcist headquarters.
