Ch 31

Today was the day they would take down the King. Vegeta, Trunks, and Uub were making their way down from their rooms and onto the main floor where they discovered the King in his chair being served on by his slaves. Trunks cringed at the disgusting display along with his father.

"It's good to see you all considering you've been quite scare around here lately," said the King. "It's unseemly."

"Well," Trunks smirked, "there is a good reason for that," he said as 3rd class soldiers appeared pit of thin air along with Gohan and Goten.

The King rose from seat. "What is the meaning of this?" he yelled. "What are all these low class saiyans doing in my castle?"

"Father, your reign of terror is over. The saiyan way of life has stepped out of the darkness of old traditions. You are not suitable to rule your own kind. You should have stayed on our home planet and let it die with you."

"How dare you!" yelled the King. "Soldiers!" he demanded as his saiyan army surrounded the 3rd class army.

"We're ready for you, make no mistake," said Timor as he prepared for battle.

The battle was intense and a lot of casualties as expected in war. The 3rd class warriors were winning as Vegeta, Trunks, Uub, Gohan, and Goten moved through the King's warriors like butter in search of the King, who went missing during the battle.

"Where is he?" asked Uub.

"Outside the castle," said Trunks as they made it outside to see the King powering up as he looked angrily at them. "He's been gathering his power."

"He's not the only ones with power," Gohan smirked as he powered up along with his younger brother, Trunks, Uub, and Vegeta.

"My only family conspires against me and with the low class no less," said the King. "I will wipe you all out if it's the last thing I do!"

"You were never my family father. My family is right beside me," said Vegeta.

"Is that so? Well I believe some of your family is still here," said the King.

"What are you talking ab—

"Dad!

"Papa!"

Two of the King's strongest guards held Bulla and Pan tightly in their grasps.

"Pan," said Gohan.

"Bulla," said Vegeta.

The King laughed. "Now I know the rest of your families got back to earth on a ship and as soon as Vegeta's mate disables the shield, you will all die!"

"Y—you knew about our plan all along, didn't you?" asked Goten.

"Yes," he said in disgust, "and I knew all along that my grandson's mate was you. Of course I wanted to kill you right away. I'm sure every saiyan soldier would, but I will kill you make no mistake as my grandson watches."

"Let them go now!" demanded Gohan. "If you harm them, I will—

"You'll what? My guards will snap their necks before you can even get to them," said the King.

While they were distracted, Goten disappeared from where he stood.

The sound of the guards snapped necks made the King aware of what was happening as Goten took his niece and Bulla a safe distance away from danger.

"Looks like you have no leverage anymore," smirked Trunks.

"All of your guards are dead," said Vegeta. "And now you must follow them," he said as he powered up.

"What would your mother think Vegeta, killing your own father?"

"You've caused a lot of suffering during your rule. I believe she would see this as justice."

"None of you will leave this planet alive!" screamed the King as he began to power up for battle.

While the battle was going on, Goten looked over his niece and Bulla to see they have suffered little damage. He looked back to the battle.

"We're ok Goten," said Bulla. "Go help our families."

"I should stay just in case the King decides to pull something. They would never forgive me if something happened to both of you."

Keeping an eye on the battle, things were looking good on their end. The King was weakening, but he was rising to every occasion Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, and Uub were throwing at him, but he knew it wouldn't last long. He was growing tired, but his pride wouldn't push him on.

"Goten!" Bulla screamed as Goten looked to the battle to see that Uub, her mate, was in danger. Goten went right into action and blocked the King's attack on Uub and quickly grabbed onto him as he ducked for cover beside Bulla and Uub.

"Is he all right?" asked Pan as Bulla placed her mate's head on his lap.

"Yeah, he has some burns, knocked unconscious. He'll be all right," Goten said as he peeked back over their hiding place.

His son, grandson, and Gohan surrounded the King on all sides. He could tell by the look in their eyes that they would not stop until his death, and he would not let them destroy him as a smirk came to his face as he began to power up further, an evil laughter surrounding his transformation.

"So, what do you think of your old man Vegeta?" he laughed. "You have no hope to beat me now!" Trunks and Gohan smirked at Vegeta, who nodded at them before powering up far beyond any level his father could hope to achieve. He watched in horror as his son surpassed him in transformation. "Wh—what is this?" the King demanded.

"Super Saiyan 4," said Vegeta.

"N—no that's impossible. It's nothing but a myth," said the King.

"Not anymore," said Trunks. "My father worked hard to get to this transformation along with my mother, who helped him believe he could reach the next level and beyond. Love does exist and even though your race didn't believe in it, my father proved his own race wrong."

"And you love that filthy low class saiyan?" asked the King.

"He has more class than anyone here," said Trunks. "Yes, I do love him. He's my mate, and you killed yours because you're a selfish, cold hearted, bastard."

"And what makes you think you won't do the same grandson? Your blood runs through my veins," said the King.

"That's enough!" yelled Vegeta as he blew his father away into the wind. There was nothing but the King's ashes on the ground when Vegeta was done with his father.

A silence followed the explosion until multiple footsteps their way. Looking away from the explosion, Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks came face to face with Timor and his saiyan army.

` "Prince Vegeta."

"Timor."

"Your mother would be proud."

"What will you do know?" asked the Prince.

"Knock down the castle and rebuild. Will you, your family, and friends stay and help us?"

"Our place is not here, it never was."

"You defeated your father. Why not stay and rebuild your kingdom your majesty?"

"My mate and my life are back on earth. While being a saiyan is a big part of me, there is more to life than being a prince. It was my past and a past that led me down a horrific road. It's time for me to look towards the future, but I wish you luck in your future endeavors."

"You are welcome here anytime," said Timor as he looked passed the prince to see Pan and Bulla seek the comfort of their loved ones while Goten smiled at the sight.

"Goten," said Timor.

"Thanks for all your help Timor," said Goten as he held out his hand, which Timor proudly shook.

"I should be thanking you for helping me and my army grow stronger. We could have not defeated the King's army without it."

"I'm not the only one who helped," said Goten.

"Modest as always," said Trunks as he smirked at his mate, who blushed.

"You must be Trunks. Goten speaks highly of you and your family," he said as he looked at the lavender-haired man and back to Goten. "There is something deeper between you."

"Goten is my mate," Trunks said as Timor's eyes widened. "On your planet my decision to be with him would result in his torturous death but this is a new time. I was born on earth. All I grew up with was the love and unconditional support of Goten."

"Your families came together to defeat a ruthless King. I believe I can look past your preferences at leave you all to go back to earth."

"Thank you Timor," said Trunks.

As Timor and his people left Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Bulla, and Pan, they realized that all the space pods had been ruined during battle, but Goten wasn't worried.

"I'm sure Bulma has deactivated the ki shield," said Goten. "I'll use instant transmission to get us back to earth no problem."

"Are you sure chibi? You used a lot of energy today," said Trunks.

"Yeah, I'm fine Trunks," he said as Trunks gripped his shoulder while the others gripped his other shoulder and back.

Goten took a breath in, closed his eyes, and took a breath out as his finger lied on his forehead, sensing Mount Paou in his mind, he disappeared along with his family and friends from the new saiyan planet. Opening their eyes, smiles graced their lips as they spotted their loved ones waiting for them. A new face was back home and Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Uub, and Bulla were surprised.

"Hi everybody, nice to see you all back safe and sound. Chichi filled me in on the details."

"Goku," said Trunks, Uub, and Bulla.

"Kakarott," said Vegeta.

"Father," said Gohan.

"Grandpa!" said Pan.

Goten didn't know what to say. He'd sworn he left his father out of his mind once he left. He still felt a sense of abandonment and anger for his father's selfish ways. He didn't want to be here anymore. He felt like running, but he was exhausted from using the instant transmission technique back to earth. He knew he wouldn't get very far and watched as everyone greeted him while he stood a distance away.

"Goten."

"Hey Vegeta."

"I need distance. Can you help me? I'm kind of feeling faint," he said as he felt his feet give way but not before Vegeta wrapped Goten's arm around his shoulder.

"Fine, I won't ask any questions," he said as he flew Goten a few miles away from their friends and family.

Leaning Goten against a tree, Vegeta stood away from the tree, looking over a cliff.

"H-how can he just do that? Appear out of nowhere like everything's ok?"

"It is in a saiyan's blood to become stronger, especially in full blooded saiyans. Kakarott hasn't experienced the true life of a saiyan from childhood. Perhaps he is making up for it."

"I see the pain in my family's eyes every time he leaves. When he comes back, they forgive him and I don't know why," he said as he wiped the tears falling down his face.

"He wasn't around for the first seven years of your life. Everyone is different. Perhaps you are more different then your family."

"I know it's selfish. Maybe that's why I'm so different. I wanted him to stay and raise me and spend time with me but saving the world is more important. I know that, I've been a part of that but when there's peace, he still leaves."

"Goten." Goten turned his head that was leaning on the tree to see his big brother. "What's going on?"

"I can't deal with dad right now Gohan, and you know why."

"Grow up Goten! You have to accept—

Goten used the tree to help him stand as he leaned against it. "I don't have to accept anything. You have no idea what it's like to grow up seven years without a father. I can't just get over it like you mom, Pan, and Videl. He left me with an abusive mother who took out her anger and sadness on. I had to comfort her when she cried on the bathroom floor, and I felt I had to take the beatings she gave me in order to help get through it. What happens when he leaves again? I've seen the pain in your daughter's eyes, I've comforted her, and I've said nothing bad about him to her because he's Pan's hero. I have nothing left in me to forgive him."

"Chibi!" Trunks rushed over and took his mate in his arms. He looked to Gohan. "Why are you upsetting my mate?"

"Take Goten home Trunks," said Vegeta. "He needs rest."
