Mai opened her eyes to a sight she thought she'd never see again. She began to smile as she took a few steps forward, looking around.

"Mai!" A voice shouted before she was engulfed in a set of arms that almost resembled her boyfriend's. Mai jumped in surprise. "Mai I missed you." The voice crooned as a face nuzzled into her shoulder.

"G-Gene...? What are you doing?" She asked.

"Hugging you because you're back." He said. "We need to celebrate." He declared. Gene pulled away and held her at arms' length with a cheerful smile on his face. The he released her and clapped his hands once and a bunch of party stuff appeared. Mai looked around at everything then turned back to Gene with an amused smile.

"I take it that you're glad that your brother is gone?" She asked.

"He kept telling me what to do." He pouted. Mai laughed.

"Well, I have to say, it is nice being back in my body." She replied.

"And what a fabulous body it is." Gene proclaimed. Mai frowned and furrowed her brows. She walked closer to him and jabbed a finger in his chest.

"Just what do you mean by that?!"

"I may have kinda teased Noll a little with it..." Mai raised an eyebrow, wanting more of an explanation. Gene let out a nervous chuckle and gulped.

"Gene." She warned.

"Okay, okay, I may have made myself look like you and...and danced around in nothing but bra and underwear." He confessed. Mai's eyes widened in horror.

"What?!" She shrieked. Gene just looked away from her ashamed. "Why would you do that?!"

"It seemed like a fun idea at the time?" Mai's eye twitched in irritation.

"I see." She said witheringly.

"I mean it's not like he hasn't already seen you in just your bra and underwear." Gene dared to keep talking.

"What?!" Mai snapped. She was fast reaching the point where she was going to hit Gene. The man held his hands up in defense. Mai was glaring at him, demanding an explanation with her eyes.

"Hey, he was in your body! He's seen a lot!" Gene exclaimed. Mai blushed bright red when she realized this. Gene blinked, stepping forward to get a better look at her face.

"You just now noticed that?" He inquired in disbelief. "You've seen him too you know..." Mai squealed in embarrassment and hid her face on hearing that. Sure she knew it was true but Gene said it so brazenly.

"Don't say it, don't say it!" She cried, shaking her head.

"I mean I bet you especially enjoyed looking at his..."

"NOOOO!" Mai shouted. She then covered her ears with her hands. When she dared to lift them away again Gene was still going.

"...and of course I bet you loved..." She slammed her hands back over her ears and shut her eyes. She tried removing her hands again a few moments later. "...and then of course there's his..."

"GENE! Stop it!" She yelled.

"I was just talking about his car." Gene replied confusedly. Mai paused, recalling what he said before blushing madly.

"Oh." She said dumbly. To be honest she hadn't heard a lot as she had kept covering her ears so he could've mentioned Naru's nude body to begin with and then moved on to safer things she might have liked such as his car and apartment.

"What did you think I was talking about?" Gene asked as a smirk formed into his lips.

"N-nothng, nothing at all." She blushed.

"Uh-huh, suuuuure." Her boyfriend's brother smirked even more, looking more like his brother. Mai pouted as a natural reaction to the smirk. She crossed her arms and looked away from him. "Now what have I done?" Gene asked.

"You're being mean to me just like your brother!"

"I'm not...am I?"

"Yes!" Mai replied after she shifted her gaze back onto him and puffed out her cheeks. Gene looked away from her sadly. "...Maybe not as much." Mai added after she thought about it. "But you're still being mean!" He let out a forlorn sigh.

"Sorry..." She just gently patted him on the shoulder.

"On a different note...do you know about...um..." Mai stuttered.

"Know about what?" Gene asked.

"Me and Naru...?" Gene suddenly perked up and looked all ears for what she was going to say next as it involved his dear, sweet baby brother the idiot scientist. Mai blushed deeply at the expression on his face. 'He's too excited about this...' Of course it was Naru they were talking about so maybe he had a point.

"Well?" Gene probed.

"Well, you see...Naru and I...we..."

"Uh-huh, keep going."

"We...uh...well...that is..."

"What?" Gene demanded irritably. "Had wild, rampant sex and have agreed to just stay friends? Went skinny-dipping in the shower again? Ran naked down the street as soon as you realized you were yourselves again? What?" Mai's eyes widened considerably with her blush getting even deeper. She shook her head vehemently.

"N-No! Of course not! We're da... Wait. In the shower again? How do you know about that?" She demanded.

"I was spying on Noll." He answered simply.

"YOU WERE WHAT?!" She screamed in utter embarrassment.

"Hey, I was on your side you know, I even chewed him out for it." He defended.

"Oh my God..." Mai groaned, hiding her face behind her hands. "Naru knew too?! Why didn't he tell me?!"

"He was probably angry that I had called him on it." Mai lifted her head with a glare directed at him.

"What were you even doing spying on us anyways?!" She bellowed.

"I wasn't exactly spying on you, I was spying on him and you just happened to be there. Besides I found it entertaining how he was dealing with being female." Mai let out an annoyed and frustrated breath. "What are you so annoyed about?" Gene asked.

"About..." Mai flailed her arms around. "Everything you just told me!" Gene let out a sigh. He wished he hadn't told her but he wasn't going to lie to her or bend the truth.

"Anyways...what were you going to tell me before?" Gene alluded, really wanting to know what happened between this girl and his brother.

"Oh, that...well...um..."

"Yes?" Gene prodded. Mai sighed.

"We're...dating...now..." She mumbled.

"You are?! Congratulations! So he's finally seen the light." Gene rambled. "Let's celebrate."

"W-Whaaat?" Mai blinked as she twirled around when Gene walked past her. Gene hadn't seemed to hear though as he was humming merrily as he poured out some drinks. He handed one to Mai when she came up to him. He'd decorated it with so many twirly straws and little umbrellas that it looked more like a decorations factory exploded.

"Um...what is this?" Mai asked pointing to the drink. He just gestured at a wide array of bottles next to him in answer. Mai raised a brow.

"What?" Gene asked. The girl reached over and got one of the bottles. She looked at the label. She gave Gene a 'really?' look. "What?" He repeated.

"With the way you prepared the drinks it looked like it was a martini or something." Mai replied.

"That's because I'm shaken not stirred Baby!" Gene quipped. Mai couldn't help but burst out laughing at that. Gene grinned and encouraged her to drink what he had given her. Mai lifted the glass to her lips and took a small sip. It was really yummy whatever Gene wanted to call it.

Mai gave a lopsided grin. "Is this what you did with Naru then?" She joked wholeheartedly.

"Did what now?" He asked as he blinked a little owlishly.

"This." She gestured to the drink in her hand.

"When?" He maybe regretted giving her the drink now, she didn't make much sense after drinking juice.

"Gene!" Mai exclaimed. "When Naru was here...being me or whatever! Duh!" Gene made an 'o' with his mouth then frowned.

"No, of course not, why would I?" Mai lifted a brow in amusement.

"I was kidding." She rolled her eyes again. Yep, that confirmed it, no more juice for her.

"Let me just take that..." He slowly began to reach for the glass.

"No, mine!" She pouted as she turned away from him.

"Maaaai." He warned slowly. She hugged her drink closer. Gene still tried to take it though. Due to her twisting away from him his hand landed somewhere it shouldn't though and a loud slap could be heard resonating through the astral plane. Silence followed. Gene clutched his cheek with the hand that had offended her.

"Pervert!" She screamed.

"Well it's not like I meant to!" Gene pouted, his cheek still stinging. "You kept moving!"

"Only because you kept trying to take my drink."

"That's because it was making you act crazy!"

"How?" Mai demanded.

"You weren't making any sense!" Gene retorted. She scowled at him. She couldn't believe he touched her! Especially there, those were Naru's. "Don't you tell Noll." Gene ordered as he gave her a sideways glance.

"Why not? You were the one grasping my boobs." Mai snapped.

"It was an accident!"

"How is giving them a good squeeze after your hand landed on them and paused for a moment an accident?"

"That did not happen!" Gene flabbergasted, denying it.

"Really, I think I know what I felt." Gene scowled and crossed his arms. "Don't frown at me when I've caught you out. Does Naru know his brother is a pervert?"

"I am not! Stop imagining things!"

"I'm not imagining anything."

Gene narrowed his eyes. "It's probably time for you to wake up."

"What, trying to get rid of me now you've had your way with me?"

"Had my way with...?" Gene's eyes widened. "How many times do I have to tell you it was an accident?! A-c-c-i-d-e-n-t!"

"It wasn't, you squeezed them deliberately and I felt it."

"Maybe you just wanted to feel it!" Gene retorted. Mai slapped him again. Again, silence surrounded them. Until Gene broke it.

"Will you stop that?!"

"Stop what? Slapping a pervert?" Gene glared at her, holding his cheek again, causing him to look a lot more like his brother. "Don't you glare at me. Naru's don't work and he's a pro so you don't stand a chance at intimidating me."

"Time to go, Mai." He continued to say. He walked towards her and gave a small push on her forehead, a thing he did when he had to force Mai out of a dream.

"I'm so telling Naruuuuuu..." She shouted as she fell back into her body and out of the astral plane.

Mai woke up with a jerk. Naru was still sleeping peacefully beside her with his arms around her. Careful not to wake him, she slowly sat up and leaned against the headboard. She was still seething mad at Gene. How could that pervert do that?! He didn't even apologize! Mai crossed her arms and glared at the opposite wall to the one she was leaning on. As soon as Naru woke up she was totally telling him. Although it's not like Naru can do anything about it anyways. Still being able to vent to someone who had experience of the problem might help and as Naru is the only one available who knew Gene then it made sense to talk to him about it.

Mai sighed and glanced at Naru. He looked so happy and peaceful. She reached over and gently brushed his bangs out of his eyes. He didn't even stir. She would never have believed Naru slept so hard and was hard to get up if she didn't see it with her own eyes. It made her smile. She had learned so much about him within the past week. Things that made her love him all the more. She did wonder where they would be at today if they hadn't switched bodies.

She surmised that she would most likely be sat in her tiny, cold apartment wishing for company and waiting on Naru to call her into work for some random reason and Naru would most likely be scarfing takeout and thinking he was being normal and social when he wasn't. Mai silently giggled at the thought of what Naru would be doing, but then her smile slowly dropped when she remembered her apartment. 'That's right... I was only staying here until we switched back...' She thought as realization struck her.

She felt something in her gut tighten and a lump form in her throat. She didn't want to leave, she didn't want to go back to her lonely existence where she only saw people if she was at school or work. She wanted to stay here with Naru and drink tea and cook for him and help him with other chores. But she doubted Naru would want her here all the time. He probably thought she had worn out her welcome already and she was now really annoying.

Mai bit her lip. She should probably go home today. Tears started to trickle down her cheeks. She tried to fling herself from the bed and to the bathroom as quietly as possible before she started sobbing loudly and making herself look foolish. She didn't want to wake Naru up with her crying or for him to see her cry. Unfortunately her foot got caught in the duvet and she fell ungracefully to the floor with a loud thump. Wincing, Mai prayed that Naru didn't wake up. Luck was not on her side though and a sleepy looking Naru peered down at her from the bed.

"Mai, what are you doing?"

Mai quickly wiped her eyes. "Oh, umm...I just tripped trying to get out the bed."

"Uh-huh and you were getting out of bed why?"

"Bathroom." She instantly lied.

"I see and the reason you were crying was...?"

"C-Crying?" Mai laughed nervously. "I wasn't crying."

"Mai, I'm not stupid even when I'm only half awake."

"...Are you sure about that?"

"About me not being stupid? I'm positive, now tell me why you were crying."

"I already told you I wasn't." She insisted, still not looking at Naru. She had her back turned towards him from when she fell. Naru let out a sigh.

"Mai, I want to help so will you please tell me what has bothered you so much that you were crying?" He asked in a more gentle tone. Mai half-pouted and half-frowned, not knowing what to do. She wanted to tell him but what if he thought she was being whiny and selfish? No, she couldn't do that. She couldn't risk him telling her she was stupid. "Mai?" She could hear the rustle of the sheets and knew that he was moving closer to her.

Naru sat down behind Mai with his legs either side of her then he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him gently. Mai mentally sighed and placed her arms on top of his, leaning more into him.

"Please tell me Mai. I won't judge you or call you stupid, just please tell me why you were upset." Mai hesitated a bit, glancing up at him. There was a look of sincerity on his face and he held her a little tighter in order to reinforce how serious he was about it.

"I...I have to..." She murmured, saying the rest in incoherent mumbles. Naru nuzzled his face a little closer.

"I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that last part." 'Because you weren't supposed to...' Mai thought. Naru gently prodded her in the ribs to get her to repeat what she said. The girl sighed.

"I have to...leave today..." She shut her eyes dreading for when he was going to agree.

"Who told you that?" Naru asked confusedly.

"You said that we'd only live together until we switch back...and we have. I know I've already over stayed my welcome..."

"Mai shut up. That is not true, you would never overstay you're welcome, how else would I get tea?" Mai glanced behind her to look at his face. He couldn't be serious about the tea part right? He looked deadly serious though. Mai frowned considerably. She couldn't believe the only reason he wanted her to stay was so she could make him tea. She should just leave because of that reason.
