"Hi, Sooooniiiiic!"

Sonic the Hedgehog winced upon hearing his name being drawn out by that familiar voice. He recognised it all too well. A knot tightened inside his stomach at the cringy sound of it. The hedgehog closed his eyes and let off a sigh, preparing to turn around to face the one who wanted his attention.

"What is it, Amy?" he huffed. "What d'ya want from me this time?"

"Oh why would I want anything from you, Sonic … when I have my boyfriend right here beside me?"

"Huh?" Sonic's ears twitched at the word Amy had used, which to his surprise was not referring to him. "Boyfriend?"

"Uh huh. I have the best boyfriend ever, Sonic! Turn yourself around and say hi to him!"

Knowing he needed to see this for himself to believe it, Sonic swung around to face Amy with her new boyfriend - and pulled a bewildered face when he saw who it was.

"Shadow?!"

Sure enough, the black hedgehog was standing in front of the blue one. A deep glare on his face as usual as his arm was being clung by the pink one.

"Yep, Sonic! Shadow and I are now a couple!" Amy giggled. "It's only natural that someone as cool and good-looking as him would wanna go would with a cutie like me!"

Sonic smirked, able to see perfectly well what Amy was up to. "Is that right?"

"Oh, Shadow." Amy swooned nuzzled up to the Ultamite Life Form. "You're so tall, dark and handsome!"

Shadow said nothing. The deep scowl remained on his face.

"Tall? Yes! Dark? Definitely! Handsome?" Sonic stifled a giggle. "That's debatable!"

Amy stole a quick glance towards Sonic before turning back to face Shadow. She locked gazes with the black hedgehog as she fluttered her eyelashes at him.

"Looking into your eyes, Shadow, is like peering into a pair of shiny Chaos Emeralds."

"Is it?" Sonic snickered. "I'd say it's like looking into two flames of rage!"

"Hmph!" Shadow grunted, not showing any interest in looking into the pink hedgehog's eyes.

Amy made her way slowly around Shadow. She stood behind him, wrapping her arms around his body before resting her head onto his shoulder - where she could observes Sonic's reactions.

"You're incredibly romantic, Shadow, the way you're always taking me for rides on the back of your motorcycle."

"There's nothing romantic about making a lot of noise and contributing greenhouse gases!" Sonic shook his head. "Running is much more environmentally friendly - not to mention I'm faster than that hunk of junk motorcycle of Shadow's!"

"Hey!" Shadow burst out. "Don't you dare call my motorcycle junk, Sonic - or I'll be using it to run you over!"

"No way!" Amy squealed, jumping out from behind Shadow to jump defensively in front of Sonic. "You're not doing that, Shadow! You won't be hurting my-"

The pink hedgehog cut herself off, realising she had nearly let out her love for Sonic. She glanced back over her shoulder to see the smirk on the blue hedgehog's face. Realising she had dropped her act for a moment, she ran back over to Shadow, embracing him once again as she put a look of love back onto her face.

"I mean, you don't want to be running over Sonic if I'm on the back of your motorcycle," Amy said, putting on a flirty tone. "You wouldn't want to traumatise the most precious person in your life. Would you, Shadow?"

Shadow averted his gaze to Amy, narrowing his eyes at her.

"The most precious person in my life?" he snapped. "She's gone! How can you bring Maria into this-"

"Forget Maria!" Amy burst out irritably. "What about me, Shadow?!"

"Hmph!" Shadow turned away from Amy, a repulsed frown on his face. "I don't care about you! Not now, not ever!"

"Ouch, did you hear that, Amy?!" Sonic jeered, unable to hide how amused he was. "Your boyfriend says he doesn't care about you! Sucks to have someone you love not feel the same, doesn't it?"

Amy's pink face turned red with rage. Her shock the angry expression on her face from one male hedgehog to the other. She was furious that Shadow had let her down in her ruse to make the one she loved jealous - and was extra annoyed that Sonic hadn't shown one bit of envy.

"I HATE YOU BOYS!" Amy screamed as she whipped out her giant hammer - before using it to hit Sonic and Shadow.

The blue and black hedgehogs were whacked on their heads by the pink one's weapons. Both let out cries of shock and agony as they were knocked off their feet. They lay flat on their spiky backs on the round, where Amy proceeded to beat them both with her hammer.

"Hmph!"

Raising her nose into the air with her eyes closed, Amu marched irritably away with her hammer held over her shoulder - leaving two battered and bruised hedgehogs laying on the ground where she had attacked them both.

"Ugh…" Shadow groaned as he rubbed his sore head. "Amy is such a huge pain!"

"You said it, Shadow," Sonic murmured, agreeing with his rival for once. "You said it!"
