As the newly merged Noah walked a few more steps forward, Kenna was able to make out the outfit. The tall, lean figure wore a long, red robe, with hearts on his shoulders and iron clad braces on his biceps. The arms of the coat seemed to meld the most peculiar set of cuffs; white, yet feathery-one could not tell if they were merely bracelets or sewn into the coat itself. His boots were very form-fitting, hugging his calves like a second skin, as they rose up to his knee caps. The apex of his head appeared an inky black, but was even more unique was from beneath the black, blonde hair extended down nearly to his ankles. He, like the other Noah, had dull gray skin, but his stigmata were absent. His golden eyes were laden in darkness, the bottom looking like running mascara, while the top looked like a sharp thorn. He seemed to have black lips.
A laugh from Jasdevi split the silence in half, "Yes, take it all in. Gaze upon me, for I am the last image you'll see before you eyes close for all of eternity."
A growl emanated from Kenna's throat, "What do you mean by that?"
"I mean that by staring at me, you and the others won't have a chance of living, now would you?" Jasdevi smirked, and walked towards the violet-haired exorcist and the group. He then stuck out one of his hands, and slowly traced the female exorcist's chin until the fingers almost touched the end of it.
Kenna felt her heart pacing faster, her nails biting into her palms, causing crescent shaped wounds. The anger was boiling inside her because of yet another Noah flirting with her, and Kanda having to witness it. "Yes...I see it already. You're going to make a nice addition to the family."
The exorcist's multicolored eyes widened at the blonde-haired Noah's statement. "I will never be part of your screwed up band of misfits!"
Jasdevi laughed, "There's nothing you can do to stop it, girlie. Your future was planned before you were even conceived. And besides...now we'll have another beauty in the family, aside from Lulu Bell." He let no words escape the shocked woman's mouth as he drew the apex of his left finger along the outer portion of her jaw bone, offering her only a sneer afterwards. The Noah knew that he was angering her, he could feel the fury boiling up inside of her. It amused him, brought music to his ears.
With one final chuckle, he stepped away from Kenna, and stuck out his hands, two lavender colored auras soon emerging in them, "Now then, let's get onto the battle, shall we?"
The group got into their fighting stances. Kenna dug her heels into the ground for sturdiness and balance, ready to see what the merged Noah had in store. She shut her eyes, feeling the flames rushing inside one eye, the silent waves of the ocean in the other eye. She glanced over at the other exorcists, who had their Innocence activated as well. With a nod, they charged towards Jasdevi, but were blown back when a star emerged from Jasdevi's hands. The 18-year old girl turned around and see Krory, Lavi, and the others wounded and trying to get up.
Kenna's eyebrows furrowed in sorrow, she wanted to reach out and help them, but instead felt the surging pain of the huge star being put on her back. Kenna screamed in pain as the electricity dove into her arm muscles. Jasdevi smirked as he rested one of his fingers on one of the tips of the stars, turning it to where he can see Kenna suffering from the sudden attack.
"Ohoho, that was too easy." He convulsed. "You guys really think that you could just charge at me and beat me to death? Is that what you exorcists really thought?" No words escaped Kenna's mouth, the laceration from the star was keeping her from doing that. She could only attempt to turn her head to see Jasdevi while he slowly walked around the star. He allowed his boot to make a clacking sound as he faced the female exorcist once more.
"Now what shall we do with you, Kenna?" Jasdevi grinned, then rested his hand on his chin, trying to create an evil plot in his head. He offered a smirk to the idea that popped up. "Ah yes, we'll turn you into a bomb." He faced the pillar a few feet away from them, and pointed at it. "A bomb...that will be used to blow up the entrance to the next obstacle!"
Kanda felt his heart sink when he heard the feminine-looking Noah say that. They're going to use Kenna to blow up the door?! The dark blue haired man felt the anger boiling up inside of him, and unsheathed Mugen. He stood up, only having a little trouble due to his wounds. As his sword radiated a blue aura, his eyes flashed at the Noah and dashed towards the star. The Noah's eyes widened in shock when the star was sliced in half, and soon shattered to pieces. The violet-haired exorcist used her hands and knees to land onto the floor so she wouldn't face-plant it.
"Tiedoll's disciple..." Jasdevi was at a loss of words.
Kanda gritted his teeth, aiming Mugen towards the Noah, "Of course it's me, you idiot! Why were you planning to morph Kenna into a bomb and use it to keep us here for eternity?"
Jasdevi was not at all scared by Kanda's question, a laugh only escaped his mouth, "It's to pay for her mocking us, calling us brats! You, her, and the others had underestimated us, in terms of attack and defense."
The 18-year old man growled, "Why, you-" He swung Mugen at Jasdevi, only to get a bone-crunching blow to his stomach, causing him to fly back and skid against the tiled floor.
Kenna and the others gasped, "Kanda!"
Silence then filled the room as Kanda's body just stood there, motionless. Kenna's multicolored eyes were glassy from the tears emerging in them. Kanda couldn't be dead from that attack...just like that. He can't be. Kenna rested her elbows upon the floor, feeling the tears running down her face. She could only hear the sound of muteness, no sound was heard...except for the sound of Jasdevi's shoes tapping against the floor.
"Aaaw, is the exorcist sad?" Jasdevi cooed. Kenna's eyes widened, her eyebrows furrowed in anger to the question. Her arms trembled as she got up. She then unfolded one of her hands. A sword mixed with fire and water soon emerged from it.
"You..." Kenna could already feel that statement from Jasdevi sting her eyes. "Why, you little..."
Jasdevi smirked, "That's what Tiedoll's disciple deserves for spoiling our plan, exorcist, let alone you spoiling it too!" Kenna didn't say a word, she only aimed the sword closer to Jasdevi, almost at the tip of his throat. Beads of sweat started to run down from the Noah's temple, he could see that saying more remarks like that would only add to the anger that's boiling up inside of the female exorcist.
Kenna glanced over and saw that the group was up and ready. She then flashed her eyes upon Jasdevi, and inched the sword away from his neck. She walked back towards the group, and they soon discussed plans with each other; their tone was low so the Noah couldn't hear them.
"Okay, so what do we do now?" Lenalee questioned. "Kanda's badly hurt, and won't be able to get up at this rate."
Lavi thought that over, "...Well, we could fight off Jasdevi by ourselves."
"How will that work?" Kenna locked eyes with the junior Bookman. "Those annoying brats will just block off our attacks."
"Not if we split up."
Allen's sudden idea caught the group by surprise. "And what do you have in mind for that, Allen?" Krory asked.
A smirk sheltered upon Allen's lips, "Well, we've fought Jasdevi before right? But the plan did not work out as planned. I say that Lenalee and I become a team, Krory and Kenna become a team, and Lavi will be there whenever one of us is seriously injured. He will replace one of us if that happens."
Everyone let that sink into their hands, then nodded in comprehension. They then got into their units, and waited for Allen to begin. The white haired man waited for the sound of Jasdevi's boot tapping impatiently against the floor, then they all locked their eyes on the Noah.
"I've been waiting for about five minutes now!" Jasdevi gritted his teeth. "What were you guys talking about, per chance?"
A grin crept across Krory's face, "It's none of your business...brat."
Jasdevi watched as the teams dug their feet into the ground, and charged towards him. The merged Noah went to thrust his left arm forward, but ended up getting kicked in the stomach by Allen, and being sent up into the air by Lenalee's high kick. Blood expelled the Noah's mouth.
Kenna and Krory then looked at each other, and with a single nod, they made their appearance. With the sword still in her hand, Kenna pierced it through Jasdevi's chest, hearing a scream of agony come from Jasdevi. The vampire exorcist sent the final blow by bending his right arm, slashing the feminine-looking Noah's back, then kicked him towards the row of book shelves before them.
Jasdevi crashed right into them; books fell to the ground, dust emerged from the aftermath. Allen, Lenalee, Kenna, and Krory sighed in relief. This plan was working out the way they thought it would. If they proceeded on with it, they will be able to defeat Jasdevi for good.
But soon enough, they took that back. Jasdevi's left hand emerged from the rubble, clinging onto one of the shelves. He slowly stood up, his eyes flashing upon the now joined group. With a single movement of his boot, he jumped over the debris, but almost face-planted the floor due to his injuries. His teeth now bared, he ran towards the group, and with a thrust of his right arm, sent a wave of power at them.
Kenna's eyes widened as she was caught off guard by the attack, as well as the others. They skidded against the ground, small clouds of dust appearing, then disappearing into thin air.
Jasdevi almost lost his footing as he clasped a bleeding wound with one of his hands. "That...sure took some guts...to split up like that." he laughed. "But that still won't be able to kill me off, you know."
Krory growled, "And what do you mean by that?"
No words came out of the Noah's mouth, only another wave was sent at them. Thankfully, they dodged it, and charged at the Noah.
A series of battling occurred before Jasdevi was badly wounded and almost out of breath. The same went for Allen and the others, but they weren't that much damaged. Only a smile appeared on the Noah's lips, trying to hide the surging pain from his wounds. With a swift movement of his hands, he slashed at the group. Allen, Lavi, Lenalee, and Kenna were able to miss it, but the attack slashed Krory right through the chest. Blood escaped Krory's mouth, some of it dripping onto the floor. A sharp exhale came from the group. Krory was able to maintain his balance, even though the huge wound on his chest was slowly oozing out blood.
Seeing that he finally managed to hurt one of them, a sick, twisted chuckle came from Jasdevi, but was stopped short by one of his strands of long, blonde hair being pulled on by Kenna, the other one being pulled on by Krory. The two then held Jasdevi against the shelves on books by wrapping one of their arms around the Noah's waist.
"Allen! Lavi! Lenalee!" The two called out. "We'll take it from here!"
Lavi's eyes widened, "What in the world do you guys mean? We spread out the plan, and put it into action a few minutes ago. Why...?"
His statement was cut short by the sudden sound of the floor shaking beneath them, pieces of it starting to break. The group then realized that room is starting to go down.
A growl came from Jasdevi as the strands of hair turned into spears at the tips, stabbing both Kenna and Krory in the chest, "Let go of me, you freaks!"
Allen felt his heart sink at seeing Kenna and Krory getting hurt by the Noah, blood dripping from their mouths due to the piercing pain of the hair spears stabbing their flesh.
"We all...can't...stay here and fight Jasdevi together!" Kenna shouted to the group between coughs of blood. "We all need to split up and move on!"
"But you guys are getting injured!" Lenalee spoke up. "There's no way you two will be able to fight them without our assist-"
"ALL THE MORE REASON!" They yelled in unison.
"Krory and I can't hold onto this nuisance for much longer. We need you guys to go on without us...and take Kanda with you!"
The vampire nodded in agreement, "Besides, the room is starting to go! We will all die here if we get caught in the rubble!"
Allen's eyes widened, "But...Kenna...Krory...we can't..."
"Just go!" Kenna tried to yell between the pieces of the ceiling starting to come off. "We'll...be fine! We believe in you!"
Then in unison once more, "NOW GO!"
Sad at seeing Kenna and Kanda sacrificing themselves to save the group from getting hurt, Allen wanting to reach out in help them, but was stopped by a large piece of the floor falling down in front of him, causing a large cloud of dust to emerge from it. As Allen heard the group calling out Kenna and Krory's names, he let his bangs hide his grey eyes for a minute, thinking over what they had said.
He started to remember how many exorcists that he had befriended sacrificed themselves in terms of danger, and how depressed he felt when he saw their lives taken away from them right before his eyes. A lump appeared in Allen's throat, one that was caused by the feeling of determination and nervousness. He looked up, his eyes gleaming with confidence. Kenna and Krory...are right. he thought to himself. We need to move on, and believe in ourselves. We...need to believe in each other.
After the rubble subsided, the room oddly went back to normal. Kenna and Krory were lying motionless on the floor, the wounds on their backs slowly oozing blood. Jasdevi, on the other hand, was fine, and free from the two exorcists' grasp.
He then scanned the room, seeing that the rest of the group was gone, including Kanda. "They're...gone." was all Jasdevi could say before allowing a demonic laugh to escape his lips. "They're gone! Gone, gone, gone! And they left their two comrades behind and fled! Incredible!"
He then let the laughter subside as he looked over at the pillar, seeing that the doors on it were still open; the light escaped from it like the rays of the sun do on a nice, beautiful morning. A smirk crept open his face as he walked towards it. "I can't expect to let them get away and leave those two brats here. I'll just get rid of them, and do the same for the rest-" his sentence was cut short by a flask of akuma blood hitting his back, then landing on the floor.
He turned around, his golden eyes widening as he saw Kenna and Krory standing up, despite the wounds hurting them. Krory removed the akuma blood from his lips with a swift movement of his hand.
"You're not going anywhere with us in your way...brat." Kenna smirked, an orb slowly emerging in her hands.
Jasdevi let his eyes relax as he looked at the two exorcists. "Guess I will have to kill you guys off once and for all, eh?"
