Minoko hummed, forehead pressed down on her notebook. She looks up and sees Present Mic writing four sentences on the board. How boring. She thought as her eyes scanned the room. Minoko watched as Hagakure was making a not so subtle tower out of her things. Faintly she could hear Jirou snicker from behind her, telling Kaminari off for nearly falling asleep. She could also hear the person beside her, Mina, clicking on her pen absentmindedly. And by the looks of it everyone else thought so too.

"Alright!" Present Mic said, putting the chalk down and facing them. "Who can tell me which among these sentences is wrong?"

Minoko read over the four English sentences. It was the fourth one. Minoko is pretty fluent in English. Ever since she was given a phone when she was 13, she's exposed herself to western media, and picked up a lot. She raised her hand.Morning classes really are boring. Compared to yesterday, anyway.

"Yeah! Kaeda, take it away!"

Minoko stood up, "The fourth one. The 'that' and 'all' should be switched around, or you can remove the 'that'. The sentence should be 'Tell me all you know'."

"Correct!"

Afterwards, they were dismissed for lunch. Minoko stretched her body as Kirishima called for her. "Coming," she said, stuffing her stuff back inside her bag before following the redhead out.

She fell into step with Kirishima and Kaminari. "Oh, and I know you've talked but never really had an introduction," Kirishima started, "this is Sero Hanta," Kirishima gestured to the other male that he had invited.

Sero waved at you, "And your bird girl, Kaeda Minoko?" he asked.

"What a way to be remembered," Minoko sighed. "It's nice to meet you, Sero," she smiled at him.

The four of them arrived at the cafeteria and fell in line. Despite the amount of students, the queue moved quickly and the place was able to fit them all with tables to spare. Minoko sat beside Kirishima and in front of Kaminari as she hummed in delight. "They weren't lying, Lunch Rush's food is delicious," she said, taking another bite of her Katsudon.

Kaminari nodded, "You said it. Youknow," a mischievous smirk made it to his lips. "There's this sweets shop—"

"No thanks," Minoko smiled.

"Busted," Sero took a sip from his soup, watching the scene in amusement.

"Shut up! Who's side are you on?" Kaminari elbowed Sero before facing back to Minoko, "You didn't even let me finish! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I don't give it away to just anyone!" he protested.

"I literally just heard you ask Ashido and Hagakure the same question earlier," Minoko said, recalling the blond asking them consecutively when he arrived this morning.

Kirishima brought food up to his mouth,"Busted."

"Oi!"

Minoko took a look at their schedule.Hero Basic Training. There was no teacher listed under it so the class sat in anticipation. The clock ticked as time passed by when the door slammed open. "I AM WALKING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

Minoko jolted as All Might slid into the room.

"It's All Might!"

"He's wearing his Silver Age costume isn't he?"

Minoko smiled at all the excitement. All Might walked to the middle of the room, "I will be teaching Hero Basic Training. In this subject, you will learn all the basics that comes with being a hero," he said. "Let's get to it! Today we will be doing…" he pulled out a card with the word 'BATTLE' on it. "Combat training."

"But first!" All Might pointed to the wall as it opened up revealing suitcases with numbers on it. "Costumes made based on your quirk registrations, and requests you've sent in before the school year started!"

Minoko stood up as she and the rest of the class went to grab their's. "After you change, gather at Ground Beta!"

"Ah! Kaeda! Your costume looks good!" Ashido exclaimed.

Minoko looked down at her costume. It consisted of a black bodysuit with a purple cloak that reached 'til her elbows, purple knee high boots, plus her white quirk canceling gloves. Along with this, she wears multiple accessories so it would be easier to use her quirk. These include a black choker, purple hair clips, gold earrings and necklace, and black bracelets. She also has a white utility belt with first aid in it. "Thanks!" She said, "My mom made it."

"Your mom?" Jirou asked.

"Yeah," Minoko nodded, as she secured the utility belt around herself. "She works at a Support Tech Company, and she insisted that she'll make my first costume."

"That's so cool!" Hagakure exclaimed, "You must know your way around inventing then?'

Minoko laughed, "You'd think that, but I've made things in my mom's workshop explode multiple times."

"Isn't it heavy though?" Uraraka asked, "You kinda have a lot going on," she giggled, pertaining to all the accessories she has.

Minoko shook her head, reaching for the cloak, "All my clothes are made up of lightweight materials that when you move, there will be hardly any difference in speed." She then reached for the necklace, "These aren't very heavy either. They're made of fake gold, and the bracelets are plastic. I just need stuff to use my quirk on at any moment."

"Ribbit," Asui started, "I think we should get going."

Yaoyorozu agreed, "I can hear the other's already heading there."

The seven of them left the locker room and towards Ground Beta, where they found their classmates gathered. All Might stood in front of them, "They say clothes make the man," he started. "Be aware that from now on, you are heroes!"

Everyone started chattering about. "Kaeda," Kirishima greeted, letting out a sound of amusement, "You look really manly!" He gave her two thumbs up.

"Aah, you girls really made an entrance," Kaminari said.

"You two don't look bad either," she said, observing their costumes.

"Thanks!" Kirishima exclaimed, punching his hands together.

Kaminari brought his thumb and index finger up to his chin, "I know," he grinned.

Minoko felt a hand on her shoulder, "You're boosting their ego too much," Jirou said, leaning on her a bit.

"For this class," All Might started, catching everyone's attention. "You'll be splitting into ten teams and will be engaging in indoor battles as heroes and villains."

"Will there be a threat of expulsion?" Uraraka asked, a reasonable worry after yesterday.

"How do we determine a winner?" Yaoyorozu followed.

"Is this cape stylish?"

A hand shot up, "How would we be splitting up? The teams would be uneven as there are 21 of us," Iida asked."Why are there even 21 of us?" he added. "Doesn't UA take in 36 from the normal entrance exams and 4 from the recommendations then splitting them into 20 students each class?"

"To answer your questions," All Might started, "No, there will be no expulsion happening. In this exercise the villains will be hiding a prop nuclear bomb inside one of the buildings. To win, the heroes have to capture the villains or retrieve the weapon within the allotted time. Meanwhile, the villains have to protect the weapon or capture the heroes. Yes, it is." All Might looked over to Iida.

"As for young Iida's question…Principal Nedzu was impressed by the batch of recommendation students this year and wanted to take 5 in instead of the usual 4. To be fair with the normal examinees, he decided to take in an extra student from that group as well. Both classes should have 21 students, unfortunately, one of the recommendations students switched schools last minute and the principal just let the arrangement be.

"As for how you are being split up, there will be one team with three members and their time limit will be increased or decreased depending if they are playing hero or villain." All Might brought out a box. "And to decide the teams, we'll be drawing names!"

"Drawing names?" Iida asked skeptically.

"Pro heroes often need to create makeshift teams with other agencies," Midoriya said, "so maybe that's why."

"I see," Iida bowed, "Please excuse my rudeness!"

"It's fine," All Might said, "Let's do this quickly!" He began drawing names.

In the end, Minoko ended up in the three person team with Ojiro and Hagakure as villains. She followed the others to the observation room to watch the first battle. Team A, Midoriya and Uraraka, as heroes versus Team D, Bakugou and Iida who were villains.

Minoko watched as Midoriya and Uraraka entered the building through a window. Meanwhile on the other monitor, she could see Iida clearing out a room after Bakugou started blasting himself through the hallway. The class exclaimed as Bakugou appeared at where Midoriya and Uraraka were in an instant. Midoriya managed to push Uraraka down with him, avoiding Bakugou's explosion.

"A surprise attack."

"That's so unmanly of him!" Kirishima exclaimed.

"It's still a strategy," All Might said as he wrote stuff down on his paper. "They are in a battle after all."

"And Midori did a good job dodging it!" Mina said.

Minoko nodded at the girl's comment, "He has really fast reflexes," she said. "He didn't even hesitate."

"He's going for it!" Kaminari exclaimed, making everyone draw their eyes back on the screen.

Bakugou rushed forward, preparing for an attack when Midoriya grabbed his right arm, throwing him over his shoulder. "He predicted it," Minoko mumbled.

They continued to watch the battle, except, there wasn't much battling going on. "What's Bakugou even saying?" Kirishima said, "I can't tell when there's no mic on the cameras."

"He's talking with Iida through an earpiece," All Might explained. "You can bring that, the blueprint, and this capture tape." He pulled out the item and showed it off as an example. "Wrapping your opponent with this will show that they're captured. Wrap both of them in it, and it'll be a win for you."

"The heroes have fifteen minutes and don't know where the weapon is," Minoko pointed out, eying the timer on another monitor.

"They're seriously at a disadvantage!" Mina exclaimed.

"A hero is one that can overturn any situation," All Might said, simply. "Plus Ultra!"

"Monsieur, Bakugou is…" Aoyama eyed the screen.

Ah. They're really giving it their all,Minoko thought as she watched the Midoriya and Bakugou fight while Uraraka went on to find the weapon. Midoriya managed to run through the building and lose Bakugou. A scowl was plastered on his face as Bakugou searched the building.

Not seeing any progress, Minoko's attention shifted to another monitor.Uraraka found the bomb. She watched as the girl hid behind a pillar, wary of Iida who was standing in front of the weapon.Eh?"Uraraka...she's laughing?" Minoko tilted her head.

Mina scooted closer to her, "Oh, she is. I wonder why she's laughing."

"Well," Hagakure started from where she was on Minoko's other side, "Iida being the bad guy's kinda funny. Think about it, Mr. Prim and Proper, cackling as he prepared his evil monologue."

This earned a stifled laugh from the two, "Hagakure," Minoko laughed.

"Stop! You're making us imagine it!" Mina exclaimed with a laugh of her own.

"Ah," Minoko caught sight of the monitor, "She's been spotted."

Distracted by Iida's grand gestures, Minoko hadn't noticed that Bakugou had found Midoriya until All Might had yelled for him to stop. "What is he—"Minoko was cut off by the building rumbling.

"This is a class, aren't they going overboard?" Kirishima exclaimed.

Within this time, Uraraka decided to make her move. "She can make herself float?!" Kaminari exclaimed. They watched as Uraraka floated on top of the weapon and made the 'release' symbol with her hands. She slowly descended towards the weapon when Iida took it away.

Meanwhile, on the other monitor, Midoriya sat up and faced Bakugou—who was once again saying something that they couldn't hear.It would really be nice to have sme context right about now,Minoko thought, just as All Might warned the blond about having to stop the exercise if he tries something too dangerous like that again.

They watched as Bakugou went to attack Midoriya again. With the gap on the floor, I don't think Midoriya will be able to dodge. He probably thought that too as the boy had pulled his arm back, readying for a punch. Bakugou, however, managed to dodge by blasting himself above Midoriya, then making another blast to propel himself close enough for his left hand to direct an explosion to Midoriya's back.

"He doesn't look like the type who uses his head," a low voice suddenly said, "but he's oddly detailed."

Todoroki…Minoko listened to his words. This is one of the guys we're up against later.

"He changed his course with a camouflage blast and fired another one immediately after."

Yaoyorozu nodded at him, "Firing an effective blow while canceling inertia requires fine adjustments on both hands."

"So you're saying he's a genius?" Kaminari grimaced, "Great, what a bother."

Minoko couldn't help but stare at the two.Recommendation students are in a whole other league.

"This is just lynching at this point!" Mina exclaimed as Bakugou continued to reign a barrage of attacks at Midoriya. "All he has to do is wrap him up in the capture tape!"

Words of disapproval echoed in the room. "Running away is unmanly, but I can't blame him," Kirishima frowned at the monitor. "But it's strange…"

Yeah,Minoko thought, remembering yesterday's ball throw.Bakugou may have the upperhand with his fighting skills, but with a quirk as powerful as his, Midoriya should at least be able to keep him at bay.

Bakugou was shouting at Midoriya again, before running towards him, an explosion readying in his hands. Midoriya didn't waste time and ran towards Bakugou as well, right arm reeling back. Realizing that Midoriya was also going to attack, she knew this wasn;t going to be a pretty sight. "Sir," Minoko called out, looking at the teacher who was watching with a conflicted look on his face. "Shouldn't they be stopped?"

"This isn't good!" Kirishima exclaimed.

"Both of you—" All Might cut himself off, intently listening to his earpiece.

In the corner of her eye, she saw movement from one of the other monitors, but she hadn't had the chance to look as Midoriya redirected his attack.Upwards?!She shifted her attention to Uraraka's monitor and found the girl holding on to a detached pillar, swinging it forward to blast a bunch of debris towards Iida. Distracted with avoiding the attack, Iida wasn't able to stop Uraraka from jumping over landing perfectly on the weapon.

That was their plan this whole time?!

"The hero team, WINS!" All Might announced.

It's just as he said,Minoko thought as she watched Midoriya drop to the floor. The heroes managed to turn the situation around.

Everyone was staring at the monitors with a mixture of awe and confusion. "What happened? They won, but they can barely move," Kaminari pointed out, eyeing Midoriya who was on the ground, and Uraraka who looked like she was going to be sick. "Meanwhile the losers have barely any damage."

Minoko watched as Midoriya was taken away to the infirmary on a stretcher by helper robots. It's unfortunate, but these are all casualties in actual battles.

All Might retrieved the three students and they were all standing in front of a monitor announcing the results of the first match. "Now that it's over," All Might started, "We have this battles' MVP, Young Iida!"

"Eh? Me?" Iida exclaimed.

Asui tilted her head, "Not from the winners, Ochako or Midoriya?"

"Hmmm, I wonder why," All Might said. "Can anyone tell me?!"

Yaoyorozu's hand shot up, "It is because he adapted to the situation the best. Bakugou's motivations are purely for personal benefit, and as you said earlier his large scale attacks are foolish. Meanwhile Midoriya's plan was way too reckless as evident by his injuries. Uraraka was too carefree and lacked alertness, her final attack was way too violent that if this wasn't training and the weapon was real, it would have been too dangerous to use."

She then looked over to Iida. "Iida was prepared for the enemy, even taking his time to clear out the room, as well as for the fight over the weapon." At this point the boy was buzzing with pride and joy. "The heroes only won because this was all under the circumstance of training."

"I would also add that Young Iida was too stiff, but you are correct!" All Might exclaimed.

Yaoyorozu is amazing,Minoko thought as she straightened her posture. But for some reason I feel like I should be watching my every move now. Aah, this after battle evaluation is making me nervous.

"Now, shall we move on?" All Might asked. "Next Battle, we have the heroes Team B, and the villains, Team I!"

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, we're gonna have Minoko's battle next chapter!

TRIVIA!!

Despite all the purple she has, her favorite color is blue. Her mom just liked the idea of her costume being similar with her eyes (because her eyes is the only thing they physically have in common).
