A Disgrace of the Family
Chapter 1
Myrcella Baratheon trembled as she sat in the bathroom as she took the pregnancy test. She could barely breath, though she was in this condition for a long time.
Myrcella was a beautiful girl of sixteen years old, with green eyes and golden hair. She was the second child and only daughter of businessman Robert Baratheon and his wife Cersei Lannister, inheriting her mother's looks. Due to her beauty, Myrcella was considered popular among her peers. However, the popularity also came from her sweet and kind nature. She was like an angel.
For a long time, Myrcella suddenly began to feel odd. She began throwing up and she did not like it at all. To make it more dreadful, the poor girl suspected what the reason was.
'It's been two months since Bran and I… no, it can't be. Gods, no…' she thought, panicking. The boy she was referring to was her boyfriend, Bran Stark. The thing was that her father Robert, and Bran's father, Eddard Stark, were friends since college. Obviously, this led to their children getting to know each other. Stark's older daughter, Sansa Stark, was immediately infatuated with Myrcella's older brother, Joffrey.
The golden-haired girl felt pity for Sansa as she didn't know what kind of person Joffrey was. Joffrey was a bully, finding joy, and even, pleasure, from tormenting his siblings, cousins, classmates – anyone who couldn't stand up to him. This led to Joffrey display possessive behaviour over Sansa, bullying her, abusing her and cheating on her. In the end, Sansa managed to break up with Myrcella's prick of a brother, and finally be free. Last what Myrcella heard was that she was now happy, dating Willas Tyrell and already in college, while Joffrey remained in school after failing his exams.
However, the break up led to a huge scandal. A rift was formed between the Starks and Baratheons, with the Lannisters, Cersei's family, also glaring at the Starks. However, that didn't stop their children from interacting with each other. Bran and Tommen remained close friends. At the same time, Bran and Myrcella also began a romantic relationship. They became close when Sansa still dated Joffrey, but after the break up they became even more closer. Around two months ago, they finally gave in to pleasure, having their first with each other.
Now, Myrcella feared the possible consequences. With the door locked, Myrcella turned over the test, and exhaled heavily in dread. The test was positive.
'Gods… I-I'm… I'm pregnant…' Myrcella mentally panicked. The poor girl collapsed onto the floor, grabbing for her head. She was pregnant. With Bran's child. Myrcella was in panic, feeling a headache. What was she going to do? What would her family say?
Her family's reaction is one of the things Myrcella feared most. Due to the rift, she and Tommen were forbidden to interact with the Stark family, let alone having a relationship with any of them. Still, that didn't stop Bran and Myrcella spending time together, for they loved one another.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and Myrcella almost jumped when she heard her younger brother, fourteen-year-old Tommen, calling through.
"Cella, are you done there?"
"Yes, I am" she answered, quickly grabbing the test, hiding it. Myrcella quickly left and let Tommen in. She returned to her room, locking it before collapsing onto the floor again. Taking deep breaths, the girl attempted to calm down.
'Breath in and out… breath in and out…' she told herself. 'Let's tell Bran first.'
Since she was wearing her underwear only, Myrcella dashed towards her closet. Opening it, she began grabbing the first clothes she could find and put them on. Myrcella then grabbed for her phone and wrote a message to Bran, asking to meet with her.
Before she knew, the golden-haired girl stood at a park where she and Bran had their picnics. Taking a deep breath, Myrcella stood and waited. It didn't take long for her to see Bran, smiling widely as he approached her.
"Hi, Cella." he greeted her cheerfully, giving her a peck in the lips.
"Hi," she bit her lip. Bran immediately noticed that his girlfriend was distracted and worried.
"Is everything alright, love?" he asked.
"Bran…" Myrcella whispered, tearing up. She then broke into tears as the boy with medium-length brown hair pulled her into a hug. He was frightened, and concerned.
"What is Myrcella. Tell me?" he begged.
"Bran…" she stammered. "I'm pregnant."
Myrcella closed her eyes, tears still streaming down her cheeks. Suddenly, she felt Bran wrapping around her even tighter.
"What are we going to do, Cella?"
"We?" she asked shocked, opening her eyes as she felt Bran smiling softly.
"This is our child." he said. "I'll follow you, Myrcella."
"I… I want to keep the baby." she finally told him.
"I'm with you."
Myrcella broke down into tears again, but this time out of happiness. Bran was with her, and together they would face the difficulties and consequences no matter what.
What mattered now is to tell their respective parents.
Myrcella froze as she saw the amount of cars present at the Baratheon Mansion. She has just returned from her meeting with Bran. They decided to keep the baby and raise it together. Bran returned to his home mansion of Winterfell to tell the family, while Myrcella returned home to do the same. From the amount of cars it was clear that her extended family was present.
There were her paternal uncles; Stannis and Renly, with Stannis' family; his wife Selyse and daughter Shireen, while Renly was gay and didn't have any kids. Then there was her family from her mother's side; the powerful Lannisters, who owned gold mines and banks. First was the patriarch, the great and powerful Tywin Lannister. He was very rich, but also very strict and demanding, not only of his children, but his grandchildren too. Myrcella somewhat feared him. Especially now when he would discover her pregnancy.
Next were her maternal uncles; Jaime and Tyrion. Both of them really cared for her, apart from her mother, who pampered Joffrey, ignoring his flaws, especially when it came to bullying his siblings. In fact, Myrcella prayed that her two maternal uncles would support her.
Entering the mansion, she already found her whole family, dressed properly, while she wore jeans and a shirt. Her mother was the first to speak.
"Gods, Myrcella!" she exclaimed. "Where've you been? Why are you dressed like this?"
"Sorry," she apologised. "I needed some… fresh air."
Myrcella stared at her family, noticing the disapproving look of her grandfather.
"Well then," Cersei said, shaking her head. "Go and quickly get dressed. Dinner is almost ready, and we're waiting for you."
"Actually, there is something I need to tell you." the girl told her, getting the attention of her mother. "It's urgent."
As if asking for defence, Myrcella approached Jaime and grabbed his hand. Jaime noticed this and felt concerned for his niece.
"Me and Bran," she began. "We've been dating…"
"You were going out with the Stark's second son?!" Cersei almost yelled, but was silenced by Stannis. Robert was already drunk, even if dinner wasn't served yet.
"And… I'm pregnant… with his child…" Myrcella spoke, increasing her grip on Jaime's hand. She tensed, waiting for her family's reaction. Her father was the first to react as he roared with laughter.
"Well, who would have foreseen that!" he laughed. "My daughter has fallen for a Stark boy."
Myrcella mentally groaned as Robert wasn't helping. Joffrey made it worse as he sneered. "Congratulations, for what, being so desperate to get fucked that you chose the ugly nerd Bran Stark."
Myrcella, Tommen and Tyrion glared at him.
"Joffrey, that's enough!" Cersei snapped at her firstborn. Myrcella hoped that her mother would support her, but her hopes were gone when Cersei gave her an angry glare.
"Myrcella, why didn't you tell us earlier that he took you by force?" she asked. "We should call the police and press charges…"
"He didn't rape me!" Myrcella cried in a mixture of rage and hurt. "It was consensual."
"Still, he shouldn't have impregnated you," her mother continued. "We must get rid of that mistake immediately."
Myrcella froze, not believing what she just heard. Her mother was considering an abortion, killing the baby inside her. Her baby. Myrcella clenched her fists.
"No."
"What?" Cersei asked.
"You will touch the child." Myrcella muttered. "It is my baby, and I'm keeping it, whether you like it or not."
"Myrcella, you don't know what you thinking right now." Cersei said. "I'm trying to help you fix a mistake…"
"The baby is not a mistake!" Myrcella shouted at her mother.
"Myrcella, listen to your mother" her Uncle Jaime spoke, and that hit it. Myrcella looked up, tears forming in her eyes from the feeling of betrayal. In anger she slapped Jaime's hand away.
"You said that I could trust you!" she cried at the golden-haired man. "That you would help me! But it seems I've trusted the wrong uncle."
"That thing is a consequence of a sin!" her Aunt Selyse yelled. Myrcella groaned. Selyse would obviously interfere with her preachings due to being a fanatic of Rhillor.
"Safe your preachings for your oldest nephew, aunt." Myrcella almost snarled.
Tywin, who sat still, finally spoke. "Watch your tongue, child" he sternly told her. "You will do an abortion and that's it."
"I'll not murder an unborn child!" Myrcella protested.
"I will not allow bastards flow in my blood." Tywin told her. Myrcella wanted to scream. She wanted to throw something at her grandfather, for now, she felt like she really hated him. He was always like this with everyone, as if he was in charge. He also never smiled and Myrcella doubted that he even cared for anyone.
"Is that what your father told you when you got Grandma Joanna pregnant before you wed?" she cheekily asked, causing Tywin to blush in rage at the mention of his beloved wife.
"Myrcella, that baby…"
"Is a blessing!" the girl cut off her mother. "And if you do not get it, than so be it, you won't see it. Never."
"She must be punished!" Selyse raged. "In the name of the Lord of the Light!"
"Don't tell me how to deal with my daughter, you stupid woman!" Cersei snarled back. The two sisters-in-law really despised each other. A quarrel began and soon everyone forgot about Myrcella and her pregnancy. Seeing that their family was distracted, Tommen led Myrcella to the door.
"What are you doing?" she asked her brother.
"I'll get you out of here," he answered as he took the cash for a taxi cab. "Where do you want to go? To Bran's place?"
"Yes." Myrcella answered, smiling at her brother. At least he was the one who supported her and her relationship with Bran. As the taxi drove towards Winterfell, the mansion of the Starks, Myrcella broke into tears, feeling hurt and betrayed by her family, who may now consider her a disgrace and nothing more.
