Prologue
Plum IF
Natsuki Subaru, a manga, video game and eternal broke fan, finds himself in a whole other world, in the blink of an eye.
As he walks through the lively streets of a medieval city, he sees a young girl crying, sitting on the edge of a sidewalk. He immediately feels compassion for her and decides to help her. He thinks that maybe this is his first mission as a hero of this world!
Subaru: "Hi! What's wrong? Did someone hurt you?"
He crouches down in front of her and reaches out his hand with a kind smile. The little girl looks up at him. She has a face covered with tears and dust. She seems scared and lost. At first, she hesitates to accept his hand, but he speaks to her in a soft and reassuring voice.
Little girl: "I'm lost, I was with my mother."
Subaru: "Okay…"
He hesitates for a few seconds. Wouldn't this be just a waste of time? Her parents are probably just ordinary people… No, I don't have the right to think about such a stupid question, I'm the hero of this world so I'm going to help her.
Subaru: "I'll help you find your mother. By the way, what's your name?"
Plum: "Thank you very much! My name is Plum Risch and you?"
Subaru: "My name is Subaru Natsuki, always broke, always penniless!"
Plum bursts out laughing, charmed by his humor and frankness. She forgets a little bit about her fear and sadness. She is adorable with her green hair and blue eyes. She looks like she's about 10 years old.
Plum: "You're funny! Where are you from?"
Subaru: "Uh… it's complicated."
He doesn't know how to explain to her that he comes from another world. He wonders if she would believe him or if she would take him for a madman. He decides to change the subject.
Subaru: "And you? What are you doing here?"
Plum: "I came for a walk with my mother. But I got lost in the crowd."
She lowers her head, looking sad. She remembers the moment when she let go of her mother's hand to look at a shop window. When she turned around, she didn't see her anymore. She searched everywhere, but without success. She started crying, hoping she would come back.
Subaru: "Don't worry, we'll find her. She must be very worried about you."
Plum: "Yes…"
She looks at him with gratitude. She feels that he is sincere and that he really wants to help her. She thinks that she is lucky to have met him.
Plum: "You are very kind."
Subaru blushes slightly.
Subaru: "It's nothing."
He gets up and holds out his hand.
Subaru: "Let's go!"
Plum: "Yes!"
She takes his hand and gets up too.
They leave together in search of Plum's mother, feeling more and more close to each other.

First of all, I am very grateful for your interest in my story. I would like to add that I have only seen arcs 1 to 4 (anime) and that I have read arc 5 on the web novel.
