A/N: The only excuse I have for not updating since July *hides* is major writer's block for this story for some reason. This chapter is quite short but I just had to get something out there just to get myself back into this story. Thanks to anyone still sticking with this fic, hopefully more frequent updates will be coming!
JJ let out a huge sigh as she flopped down onto the mattress staring at the hotel room ceiling. They were flying out first thing tomorrow morning and she couldn't wait to get home. The adrenaline from the past week had worn off now and she was exhausted. She was in pain from her two bullet wounds and her whole body ached generally due to all the cuts and bruises she has sustained in a short space of time. She was desperate for a shower, but she knew she wouldn't be able to do it on her own and there was no way she was asking anyone on the team for help. JJ let out a groan of frustration when there was a knock at the room door. JJ grumbled to herself quietly as she struggled to get herself up and out of the bed. When she opened the door she was not even surprised to see Garcia standing on the other side.
"Oh gumdrop, you look horrible." Garcia said with concern.
JJ rolled her eyes as Garcia bustled her way into the room. "Thanks for that Pen." JJ drawled out sarcastically.
Garcia just rolled her eyes back at JJ. "You know what I meant." Garcia said with a raised eyebrow. "Right come on then." Garcia said impatiently.
"Uh, come on then what?" JJ asked confused.
"Strip." Garcia said bluntly.
JJ's eyes widened in surprise. "You're not really my type Pen." JJ teased with a smirk.
Garcia just huffed, in playful annoyance. "You need to get cleaned up and you can't do it on your own so…" Garcia trailed, waving her hand motioning for JJ to take her clothes off.
JJ's immediate response was to reject Garcia's help but after a moment of consideration she realised she was extremely grateful that her best friend was here right now, so uncharacteristically she accepted Garcia's help instead.
Everyone was on the jet the next morning on the way back to Virginia when JJ felt her phone buzzing in her pocket indicating a call. JJ slipped discreetly to the back of the plane where she would have some privacy.
"Jareau, not secure." JJ mumbled quietly, her eyes glancing down towards the front of the jet where the team were.
"When are you able to talk Jareau?" the voice on the other end of the phone got straight to the point.
"An hour or so sir." JJ replied knowing they would land soon.
"Expect a video call at your residence at 10am." The man said simply, his voice serious before he abruptly ended the call.
JJ's brow furrowed in confusion. It must have been pretty important if she wasn't getting the couple of weeks off she was told she was getting yesterday. The call had made JJ anxious, the tone of his voice indicated the seriousness and importance of what she was about to be told. JJ spent the remainder of the flight restless and apprehensive.
JJ got back to her flat just after 9.30am, Garcia offered to stay with her but JJ knew she couldn't be there when she received the video call so she had politely refused but thanked her friend anyway. JJ waited anxiously for half an hour before the call came through her computer, JJ answered it quickly revealing the President's face on the screen.
"Secure sir." JJ greeted him knowing that would be his first question.
"Good." He nodded his face serious. "I'll get straight to it then." He began. "We're assembling a task force to capture Osama Bin Laden. We believe we have enough Intel to locate him. I want the best agents on this task force, you're one of them Jareau." He said, his face stoic.
JJ was stunned. Osama Bin Laden? That was huge. He really wanted her on the task force. "I appreciate you involving me sir." JJ managed to say.
"I am aware of how big this is, there is no pressure for you to be involved but I want you to be." He explained.
There was no doubt in JJ's mind that she wanted to do this. Fighting for her country like this was what made JJ so driven. "I'm in 100%, sir." JJ replied quickly.
"I don't have to tell you how top secret and confidential this is." The President said knowingly.
JJ nodded. "I won't let you down sir, you have my word." JJ reassured him.
"Good. The mission won't go ahead right away, we still have to assemble the task force. Sit tight for now and I'll be in touch." He said before disconnecting the video call.
JJ leaned back against the couch still in a state of shock and disbelief.
A/N: I thought of the Osama Bin Laden plot for this fic long before 200 aired, or before 200 was even revealed as being a JJ centric plot.
