Hey guys! Who's ready for a birthday party? If you figured out my last message, both Yuna and America have the same birthday. Yeah, what a coincidence. Kristina, Penny and Aria are also going to sing for this chapter! Yay! Let's get on with the story!

Chapter 21: Happy Birthday!

I was surprised to find Penny and Aria at the door when I opened it. Ruby looked at the two chinese girls curiously. That's… odd. I mean I do get visits from Penny now and then but Aria? What is she doing here? She was crossing her arms, staying silent.

" Um… what's up?" I asked.

" Hello Kris." Penny said as she stepped in with Penny. " We have a favour to ask you."

" What favour?" I asked.

" Aria wanted to do something for someone. She thought if she did something nice to someone here it would help her get along with others." Penny said.

" Hey!" Aria exclaimed. I smiled, I'm glad to know Aria is trying to get along with others.

" Aria, calm down. It's not much." Penny said before talking to me again. " So she talked to Denmark about whether we could do a singing performance for America's birthday party coming up along with the rest of the members of ' Awesome band'. So we need another person, the two of us can't do it alone. Would you like to join?"

" A performance? Why would you want me?" I asked.

" Aria suggested you since you are pretty good at singing. She also wants to try to have good terms with you." Penny said.

" That's not true!" Aria exclaimed. " Kyanna's too soft, Bec's not interested- she's too violent anyway- Bryan's busy, so is Alyan and the other can't sing or I can't really face." She then glared at me, blushing. I guess she's embarrassed. I just smiled. Maybe she doesn't really hate me after all. Since she went through all this trouble to get me in.

" Okay. I'll join, what's the song?" I asked.

" ' Birthday' by Katie Perry." Aria said.

" I like that song! It's appropriate for the occasion too." I said. " So when do we rehearse?"

" Tomorrow at Poland's." Aria said. " Memorise the song before you come over, we are already figuring out which part each one of should sing since we already know the song. Later on, we have to rehearse with Prussia and Denmark. We''l figure out the choreography and costumes later. Come on Penny, let's go."

Aria swiftly walked out the door. Penny seemed like she want to ask me something. But then she turned and left with Aria. Penny closed the door behind her. Ruby blinked, looking at the door then at me. I looked at Ruby, I understood what she was trying to tell me and said " I have no idea. Aria seems to try and be friends. I wonder if she's changing."

Ruby gave a loud meow and ran off to find Sandy, whom she came good friends with. I then went to my room to learn the lyrics of the song. I wonder why Aria is trying to be nice. Maybe she wants to change or something. Well I don't know what's going on in her mind. America's birthday party huh? That's on the fourth of July. Oh my gosh! Yuna's birthday! Her birthday is on America's independence day! I better prepare a gift for her!

" Hey Kristina! Can I have five minute of your time?" Jao Lan said as he approached to me during the world meeting. We weren't progressing much as usually, everyone seems to be doing their own things. Germany was getting angrier by the moment. Brandon and Ariel had to take turns on calming him down.

" What for?" I asked.

" Since America's and Yuna's birthdays are coming up, I would like make a short movie for them. I need you for both of them, since you are good friends with the both of them." Jao Lan said.

" Sounds like the time you forced us to do our Skype chat movie." I said. I shivered at the memory. Jao Lan had added a fake clip of Steve ' confessing' to me in a weird voice. Steve and I nearly killed him, Jao Lan did take out that scene afterwards.

" It won't be like the last time. I promise." Jao Lan said.

" Fine… let's get it over with." I said. Jao Lan then held up in camcorder. The lens aimed at me and Jao Lan said " Okay, first say good things about America and then wish him a happy birthday."

" Um… good qualities? Hm…" I said. Honestly, it was hard to think of any good qualities. I took in a deep breath and said " Okay! Got it."

" Alright, starting… now!" Jao Lan said.

" Hey America! You are pretty awesome despite your egoistic attitude, you are a hero sometimes. I'm glad I have such a good friend! Happy birthday America!" I said before putting my hand in the air to cheer. Jao Lan stopped the recording and said " Okay, that's good. Now do the same for Yuna."

Yuna huh? That's easy. Jao Lan started the video and I said " Hey Yuna! You are my best friend ever! I can alway count on and rely on such a fun, mature, smart friend like you! Thank you for being there for me. Happy birthday Yuna!" Then I ran around in a small circle cheering. Jao Lan looked at me weirdly before stopping the video. Jao Lan said " Okay, that's good. What was that random part for?"

" To show my excitement." I said.

" Hey Kristina." Vietnam said as she walked towards me.

" Oh Vietnam! Just in time! Can you help me with a short movie?" Jao Lan said.

" Not again…" Vietnam murmured.

" It won't take long. I'm doing it for America's birthday present." Jao Lan said " You are a good friend of his right?"

" No." Vietnam said.

" They have a insultive friendship, just think of you and Alyan and you get it." I said.

" Oh. Okay that's fine too." Jao Lan said. " Can you help me?" Vietnam was silent for awhile and said " Fine."

" Hey Kris." Penny said as she went up to me. " Rehearsal's after the meeting. We're going to Denmark's place. Liang Hao said he would keep our performance a secret."

" Oh, okay. I'll be there!" I said. " You are seriously good in singing!"

" Thanks." Penny said. " You are really good too."

" It's nothing." I said. " How are you coping here?"

" I still miss my family… but it's really fun here!" Penny said. " I wish my older sister could see me."

" Older sister?" I asked.

" Yeah. Her name is Mei. Mei is such a nice sister. I wish I could be as active as her, but I am no where near as smart or athletic." Penny said. " She is always there for me." I could see tears pour from Penny's eyes.

I patted her shoulder. Then I said " It's okay… I miss my family too." I could feel the tear collecting near my eyes. " You will see Mei again."

" I hope so… how long are we going to be here?" Penny asked.

" I don't know, I think soon." I said. Penny smiled, but it was a sad smile. She took a few steps. I could see hurt… and guilt. Poor Penny, what has she done to deserve this.

" I'm sorry I got you into this Penny." I said. She shook her head and said " You can't control your own feeling right? I know how that feels. It's okay. I'm fine." I sighed, that's a relief. Then she walked off.

" Ha ha! I bet you can't beat me!" Prussia exclaimed.

" No way! I'll win for sure!" Denmark exclaimed. I sighed. How in the world did we get from performance practice to pen battles? Just because I thought them the game doesn't mean they have been trying the past thirty minutes playing it. Aria was annoyed by the disruption.

Denmark flipped his pen on the table, trying to knock Prussia's pen off the table, but the pen ended up falling. Prussia laughed out loud and exclaimed " Kesesese~! You killed your own self!"

" Oh shut up! I'll beat you-" Aria couldn't take in anymore. She stood up straight and yelled " Oi! Are you going to help us rehearse or not?"

Prussia and Denmark jumped in shock and then Denmark said " Sorry… we got carried away."

" But I still beat you!" Prussia said.

" I demand a rematch!" Denmark exclaimed. Aria glared at the two of them. Denmark stammered " A-after p-practice."

" Thank you! God Kristina why did you teach them the game?" Aria said.

" They were bored while you were busy doing the last minute choice on our costumes." I said. " Do I really have to wear a skirt?"

" Yes and you will." I groaned internally. You'll see the costume later. I mean it looks good but I have to wear a skirt. While rehearsing our choreography while singing, Penny suddenly feel down when she tried to step in for her solo. Aria and I quickly rushed towards her. Then Aria and I asked nearly around the same time " Are you okay?

" Yeah… I'm fine. I think I just got tired." Penny said.

" Your depression is really getting out of hand." Aria said.

" Depression?" I asked. I looked at Penny. I could see her face was disturbed. I wonder what's going on.

" Do you want to talk about it?" I asked. Penny went into shock and said quickly " No! I'm fine, really!"

" That doesn't sound good frau." Prussia said as he went over. Denmark followed after him.

" No… I'm fine." Penny said.

" If you always say you're fine, you are going to feel worse." I said. " Trust me." Penny was quiet. Then she asked. " What do you do if the guy you like likes someone else?"

I was quiet for awhile. Why is Penny asking me this? Isn't this personal. Aria was quiet. She didn't want to answer. Then Aria said " I told you, don't try to get over it. I mean you still have a chance and he might notice you."

" Penny, why are you asking me this?" I asked her. Penny looked at me and said " Because you experience it with Liang Hao and I. I want to know what you thought of it."

I was silent for awhile and then I said " Penny… I was jealous. I admit I was upset but I never want to have bad thoughts about you, since you are so nice. I was so upset that I decided to be the victim and let you two be. I am the third wheel. Good thing is that I got over him. I suffered it myself, because I knew whatever I saw in Liang Hao was one sided."

" How did you know it's one sided?" Penny asked.

" The moment Liang Hao confessed that he likes you, I knew I lost." I said. Penny frowned and hid her face. Aria patted her back and said " Penny… there is still a chance."

" No there isn't! He likes her and she might like him back! And here I am being some jealous, depressed girl! I feel bad!" Penny exclaimed. Denmark and Prussia walked away because they believe they should be in this mess. Penny nearly cried. I hugged her. Penny looked at me. Then I said " Maybe… you have a chance. I don't know what the situation is but there might be. He's probably in a confused state as you are. If that girl he likes returns the feelings, confess. I think confessing helps let it all go. That's what I did." I said. Penny was silent. Then she stood up and said " I don't feel any better, but we should practice."

" Yeah, we should." Aria said as she got up. I did so too. Then I asked Aria " Hey Aria… do you still hate me?"

Aria looked at me and said " No, not really. I mean you are okay, just weird."

" Weird in definition basically means different. Everyone is different so everyone is weird." I said. Aria blinked and said " I guess I'm weird too."

" Friends?" I asked.

" Friends I guess." Aria said.

" Kesese~ now that everything's good, shall we get on with the music?" Prussia said as he put on the strap of his electric guitar. Denmark got behind the drums and spin his drumstick around.

" Yes, we'll start from the transition to Penny's solo." Aria said as she went to position. We haven't even started with Penny's solo when Liang Hao barged into the room, slamming the door with a loud bang! We all stared at him. Liang Hao didn't notice but went and asked Denmark about his pen. Then he tried to flirt with Penny. I had to chase him out of the room then.

Yuna looked up when I called her. I smiled brightly. Yuna was sitting on the couch playing with Sandy. I clutched the green wrapped up present in my hand behind my back and said " Do you know what day it is?"

" My birthday." Yuna said, trying not to sound excited.

" Ding ding! Happy birthday Yuna!" I exclaimed as I reveal the present. Yuna smiled got up and hugged me. Then she said " Thank you Kris!" Then she took the present. " Can I open it?" I nodded.

Yuna opened the wrapped neatly, peeling off the tape and unfolding the creases. Then she pulled out my gift. I had thought of giving her a book this year but I realise everyone else would be doing that. So I decided to give her something similar yet it's not.

Yuna smiled brightly as she looked at the creative cover. I had stuck picture of ourselves and our friends on the cover, decorated with cut out flowers and unique shapes. In the centre was the picture of all the ambassadors in anime form, our photobomb picture. Yuna opened the notebook and run her hands over the yellow pages.

" Thank you Kris! I love it!" said Yuna. I smiled and said " Glad you like it."

" It's Yuna's birthday?" Romano said as he entered the room. I saw Junior trying to reach up for the notebook.

" Yup! It is!" Yuna said.

" Well Happy Birthday then." Romano said " Sorry for not bringing a gift."

" It's okay, you didn't know." Yuna said.

" I wouldn't have bothered. Where's Junior?" Bryan asked as he went in. I picked Junior up, Junior tried to scratch my face. I passed Bryan his cat and Bryan greeted Yuna with the usual happy birthday.

" We didn't forget!" Italy said as he went into the room with his present. Spain followed after him. " Ve~ here's mine!"

Yuna took Italy's present, thanked him and opened it. It was- you guessed it- a book. On it's plain red cover was the words in brown: Call of the Wild.

" Oh… I already read this one." Yuna said. Italy frowned. But then she said " It's okay, I had to borrow this book from the library, I can reread it!" Italy cheered then.

Then Spain stepped forward and pulled out a small box, just the size of her hand. Then he said " Here is your present birthday girl, open it." Yuna nodded, blushing, before opening it. It was a black box, with a black cover on top. Yuna opened it to see a beautiful pink corsage. The flower was of a pink carnation with the tips of the petals stained red. Yuna gasped and picked it up. Then she turned it over to see a metal circle and around the middle was a pin and a hairclip.

" I know you like to read but I thought you would like something different this year. How do you like it?" Spain asked.

" I love it!" Yuna exclaimed.

" Want me to help you put it on?" Spain said. Yuna blushed, but then she nodded. Spain took the corsage and using the hair clip, he pushed Yuna's hair aside and clipped it up with the corsage. Yuna gave a big smile. Wow, she looks great!

" Yuna! Oh my gosh! You look awesome! Just like a spanish girl!" I exclaimed.

" Ve~ you look very pretty~!" Italy said.

" She looks the same as she was before." Bryan said.

" You have no taste." Romano said. Sandy meowed to compliment Yuna. Yuna blushed even more.

" Wait… isn't today America's birthday too?" Bryan asked. We were all quiet. Then Romano asked. " You were born on America's birthday?"

" We like to joke around how the whole of America is celebrating her birthday." I said.

" Ve~ America said he's hosting a party to celebrate it today! We should get ready!" Italy said before running out of the room. Yuna was about to remove the corsage before I said " Wait, don't remove it!"

" Why not?" Yuna asked.

" It is a gift right? You should wear it to the party. You look good in it." I said. " Well I should go and change. You guys can leave without me."

" Why would we leave without you?" Spain asked.

" It's a surprise!" I said.

" Um… you sure?" Romano asked.

" Sure!" I said. Yuna looked at me, she knew something was bothering me. And she's right, something is bothering me. My costume.

" Okay… come on bastards, let's go." Romano said as he walked out. They all went out and I sighed, now I can change.

I finally found Aria and Penny next to the stage after walking around America's house for 5 minutes. I pulled down my red slik skirt down, I hate skirts. Good things I am wearing dark green three quarter thights. My costume is a long-sleeved tight green shirt with a white half-jacket which cloth is like lace together with the skirt and tights. I wore black flats and in my hair which was tied in a side ponytail, a clump of ribbon in my hair. It was the type you see in very fancy presents.

" There you Kristina!" Aria said " Where have you been?"

Aria was wearing a bright pink hairband in her hair, which was let down and neatly done. She wore a sleeveless peach dress that does down half her thighs and has a brown belt. She wore black translucent thighs with red flats.

" Sorry, America's house is pretty big." I said.

" At least you are here." Penny said, giving me a big smile. She looks nice too. She wore a white blouse with a skirt with black tights. She also wore fake small angel wings with a ribbon like mine in her hair, tied in a ponytail. She wore black flats too. She didn't look ridiculous, she looks really pretty surprisingly. Aria thought the wings were a bit much but Penny insisted, after my support. Now she looks like a mini angle ready to go to a costume party. But other than my huge bow and Penny's wings, Aria really stood out. I wonder if she planned this all along.

" You know the plan right?" Aria asked.

" Yup, oh. Here's America now!" I said. I saw America go up on stage. He was wearing a black suit with a blue shirt inside and a red tie. Prussia and Denmark were behind him, getting their instruments ready. Then America put the strap of his bass over his shoulder and spoke through the microphone " Hello ladies and gentleman! Welcome to my awesome hero party! To celebrate the hero, me, me and my awesome band will perform for you!"

" Woah woah America. Not yet." Prussia said, smirking. Good, Prussia is going on with the plan.

" Eh? Why?" America asked.

" Because someone is going to give you a present." Prussia said.

" Cool! Where is it?" America said as he looked around.

" You have to get off stage for that." Denmark said.

" What? But I am the hero!" America said. I quickly then went on stage, went to America and said " Come on, you heard him. Get off the stage."

America looked at me, blinked, and suddenly laughed! I then exclaimed " What's so funny?!"

" What are you wearing? Ha ha ha!" America laughed.

" It's a costume okay! It's ether this or a dress!" I exclaimed. Aria and Penny got on stage. I then pushed America out of the stage and said " Come on! Let's go!"

" Okay okay, I'll get off." America said as he got down stage and to the audience. I smiled and took my place on stage. I looked at the audience. Many countries and ambassadors were here. Yuna gave me a thumbs up and I smiled. Aria took the microphone and spoke " Hello everyone. I'm Aria, that's Kristina and Penny. We are going to do a little performance as America's birthday present. You two ready?"

Prussia gave us two the mikes and we nodded. Then Prussia and Denmark started to play to the music. Penny and I clapped to the music as planned. Then Aria started to sing:

Penny and I started dancing to the song as Aria continued to sing her solo, I could hear the crowds cheer loudly for us. America's face was full of surprise but excitement too:

Aria and Penny stepped back. Oh, it's my solo, I took in a deep breath. We did our choreography moves as I sang. I was nervous but I closed my eyes and imagine it was practice:

The crowds cheered for us as we sang our chorus. I felt relieved, good thing I made it through that the chorus Aria and I stepped back for Penny's solo. Penny looked nervous but I smiled a warm smile. Penny took in a deep breath and sang and Aria and I bounced to the beat:

Then we continued with the chorus. Prussia and Denmark seemed to be enjoying themselves. Aria did the back up voice, which was suppose to stand out. I didn't mind. It was pretty hard to sing. I let her have the spotlight. When we finished, people cheered. America went up on stage, wide eyed. Then he exclaimed " Woah dudes! That was awesome! Thanks!"

" No problem! Thank Aria though, she was the one who planned all this." I said. Aria jumped in shock.

" Alright, thanks Aria!" America praised. Aria nodded in approval and we went off stage.

" Anymore surprises?" America asked. Then Jao Lan went on stage, took the microphone and said " There is one more surprise America. Well that's what I think. You know it's also Yuna's birthday?"

" It is?" America asked.

" Come on stage Yuna!" Jao Lan called. I saw Yuna walked towards the stage, walking up and asked Jao Lan " What are you doing? And Kris! Wow! I thought I'll never see you wear a skirt voluntarily!"

" It's a costume!" I complained.

" She really needs to be more like a girl." Aria commented.

" Yeah! Seeing Kris like this is priceless!" America exclaimed.

" Oh shut up." I grumbled.

" Anyway, for both of you, I got two short videos for you! I'll show Yuna's first." Jao Lan said. Then he took out a remote and press something on it. The room went dark, there was a huge commotion. Then we saw a screen it up and it had the words: Yuna's birthday gift.

Then there were videos of Yuna. Some scenes was Yuna talking to me, some of her laughing, and so on. Yuna glared at Jao Lan, I guess she didn't know Jao Lan was videoing her. Then there was a caption throughout those scenes: This is Yuna. then a black screen came on with the words : What do we think of her.

I saw a video of myself. I gasped, what?! I was the first one to be shown! Then I heard my voice say " Hey Yuna! You are my best friend ever! I can alway count on and rely on such a fun, mature, smart friend like you! Thank you for being there for me. Happy birthday Yuna!" Then there was the scene showing me being completely crazy, I blushed in embarrassment. I felt Yuna hugging me and she said " Thank you!"

" Welcome." I said smiling. Then there was a video of Riana. She said " Yuna is a great friend who a a bundle of fun and I hope she will achieve her dreams. Happy birthday!" there were several other short videos. Ariel, Tasha, Alyan, Syrian, Alisha, Bryan… even Jao Lan! Jao Lan had stated how Yuna was boring but yet fun. Yuna glared but smiled at Jao Lan then.

There were even some countries who were in the video: Italy, Romano, Hungary, Japan and so on. But the one that I got excited about was Spain's. When Spain's video started, Spain had said " Good things about Yuna?"

" Yeah, quick! It's recording!" Jao Lan's voice shouted. Spain jumped in shock and I swear in the video he blushed. Then Spain said " Okay okay, calm down. Yuna is a nice girl who is very hardworking, smart and put's people's needs before her's. She's also pretty, caring and pulls through many troubles. She has helped me many times. Thank you Yuna for all you've done. Happy Birthday." Then Spain gave a wide smile. Wow. That was deep. I looked at Yuna, she was smiling and blushing. Aw, that's cute!

Then another video came up, it was titled ' America's birthday present'. It was like Yuna's video, there was a video of America doing stuff before there was a black screen of what we think of America. England's video was first.

" America? He's an annoying guy who never listens to others. Wait you said good qualities?… Well he is a good brother and I'm glad he's doing well. I wish him a good in-" Then England coughed out blood. Jao Lan in the video freaked out and exclaimed " Are you okay?!"

" I'm fine… happy birthday…" England coughed. America laughed at that one. I could hear England exclaim from the audience " Hey! Don't laugh!"

There were several other videos from different people: Japan, France, Russia, Prussia, Denmark, China, Italy, Jao Lan, Liang Hao and so much more. Even my video was in there. America hugged me after he heard my comment. Ouch! His grip was strong!

Then I saw Vietnam's video " America is a plain stupid, egoistic guy who only cares about himself. Stupid idiot. But he is a good person despite of that and actually does have a heart help others in his own way. Not bad I guess, thanks for being my friend, or frienemy or whatever you call it. Happy birthday America."

" What?! I didn't know that was going to be shown in public!" Vietnam exclaimed from the audience.

" Hey Viet!" America called out, Vietnam blushed. " Thanks!" Vietnam remained quiet, blushing.

" Alright, now we can get to my awesome band!" America announced as Yuna, Jao Lan, Aria, Penny and I got off the stage. Yuna then grabbed my shoulders and said " Thanks for that video!"

" Hey! You should be thanking me!" Jao Lan protested.

" Okay, thank you. But did you have to say such insults along with the good qualities?" Yuna asked.

" It's true!" Jao Lan exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. Jao Lan didn't get it. I went to search for some of my friends. I saw The axis and Holy Rome in one corner. I went to them.

" Hey guys!" I called out.

" Ve~ Kristina! You looks so pretty!" Italy said, I blushed and looked down at my clothes. Right… I'm still wearing my costume.

" I'm going to change soon." I said.

" Why? You look nice in it. I-I mean there's not a problem with it right?" Japan said, blushing and looking away." I am just not comfortable with skirts…" I said.

" You are really good at singing." Holy Rome said.

" Thank you. Why don't you mix around with other people, make new friends?" I asked Holy Rome. Holy Rome blushed and said " I-I am not comfortable around people."

" An introvert huh? It's okay, I'm sort of one too." I said. Germany and Japan looked at me surprised. What? I hardly mix around with people around me unless they talk to me. Then I said goodbye and went to change into my old clothes: A beige hoddie, a red scarf headband, a white shirt with printed feather designs on the front and black track pants with slippers. Ah… that's better. I went out to talk to various people. I found Hungary teasing Vietnam about her video commenting on America.

" That was so nice of you!" Hungary said.

Vietnam snorted and crossed her arms " I just did it for the video…"

" But you were so sincere!" Hungary said.

" Hey guys!" I said.

" Hey Kris, good performance." Vietnam said.

" Thanks, Aria planned the whole thing. I just joined in." I said.

" Why are you wearing those clothes?" Hungary said " You looked nice in the skirt and bow!"

" It's not me." I said. " I feel uncomfortable in it."

Then the music in the background stopped. Those on the dance floor, like Jao Lan and Tasha, stopped dancing and looked at America. America, Denmark and Prussia got off stage. I guess they are having a break. Boy was I wrong.

" Hey guys! Who want to play truth or dare?" America asked. Oh no, not again. I was about to run away when Hungary grabbed the hood of my jacket and exclaimed " We three are playing!"

" Not again!" I cried out.

" We'll play." Scotland said. Ireland and Wales nodded in agreement. We all sat in a big circle, with me sulking. There were the Axis, the Allies, Holy Rome, Romano, Romania, Spain, Prussia, The baldics, Russia's sisters, the ambassadors, the asia group, the nordics and a few other countries.

" I wonder why Kristina is so reluctant." Yuna asked as she sat next to Viet.
