'Knock, Knock, KNOCK'

Large mahogany doors opened soundlessly, letting out the cool air of an a/c.

Stepping in cautiously, the female figure closed the door with a soft click, and stood before the grand red-carpeted staircase.

Gripping her luggage closer to her she walked up the stairs slowly, her eyes darting here and there as if trying to find something or more specifically someone.

"Is anybody home?"

Hearing no response she twitched, 'I can definitely sense the presence of at least three beings, but….where?'

Deciding to keep walking, she came upon a long hallway filled with doors, the walls seemed to be decorated with beautiful patterns of complicated designs and the floor seemed to be clad with the same red carpet of the stairs.

She also noticed that besides the imposing chandelier that hung from the ceiling, there wasn't much light. Well, apart from the sole lit candles that appeared randomly along the way.

'I wonder if I should just choose a room now. Or maybe not…'

Shaking her head slightly she deemed it best to instead see if she could find any of the brothers, however the longer she peeked into every room in her way only to find it empty, the more she grew irritated.

'TSK! I am the guest of this damned household! Not only is their door open without a care, but do they not have enough sense to come and greet me, damn it?!'

Gritting her teeth, her eyes flashed.

Having had enough she decided to instead find the living room, maybe they would be there?

Back down the stairs she easily located it, her flawless sense of direction was truly something if she did say so herself.

Putting her bags down next to her feet, she let herself fall on the couch with a heavy 'thump'.

Staring intently at the wall across her she sighed, 'some vampires these brothers are, I could have been a thief for all they knew!'

Leaning back she decided she would have to wait for them to come to her, closing her eyes and quickly falling asleep.

Walking down the stairs was none other than Reiji Sakamaki, back straight and steps perfectly accounted for.

His dark black-purple hair was tied back in a low pony tail, thin oval glasses dangling from a silver chain; he sighed pausing slightly in his steps to pat down his loose long-sleeved white dress shirt and reached into the pockets of his tight black dress pants to take out his small cooper pocket watch.

"Already 7 in the afternoon and that useless good-for-nothing still isn't back yet."

Resisting the urge to growl, he made his way to the kitchen-

And made a double-back right after taking notice of the slumbering figure lying down on the couch, what?

Making sure to mute his steps he took a closer look, it was a female.

One clad in a soft grey-blue dress, and despite sitting down he could tell the clothing accented her curves and the layered turtle neckline modestly covered her neck and chest. Trailing his eyes up her neck towards her exquisite features framed elegantly by straight midnight blue hair that faded to grey at mid-back, full bangs perfectly cut right over her eye lids.

Not quite paying attention to his actions he reached out and touched her cheek, running his fingers gently from her right cheekbone to her chin and just as he was about to continue, the abrupt grip on his wrist snapped him out of his trance.

Looking up quickly he met a pair of strange amber eyes, where the edges of the iris were thinly colored silver.

"May I ask who you are sir?"

Flustered he scowled, swiftly breaking out of her grip and standing to his full height. Looking at her from the bottom of his nose he cleared his throat.

"No, as a matter of fact, seeing as you are the stranger in this household, I believe the correct courtesy would be for you to state your name and business."

Seeing her blank stare, he put on his glasses and waited.

She sighed and stood, immediately noticing that he towered over her a good 12 centimeters. She mentally shrugged, oh well what could she do?

'Say a quick spell and make him the size of a mouse!'

Lightly scrunching up her nose she spoke,

"My name is Garbera Vivika Revida Phenex Nyrith; I come from a remote part of Europe and on behalf of your father Karl Heinz I am to serve as this year's Sacrificial Bride or for as long as it is that I last anyways."

Making a small curtsy, I lifted my hand and offered him to shake it. Pushing up his glasses with a glint he accepted.

"I see. Well first of all Miss Phenex, how old are you?"

Frowning, her eyes seemed to darken.

"No please, just Vivika is fine."

Noticing the change in demeanor, he chose to investigate it later.

"Fine, then Miss Vivika, I repeat; how old are you?"

Picking up her suitcases, she looked him over and gave a small smile that didn't quite reach her dim amber eyes, "I am the same age as you, I believe."

Raising a brow he implored her with a look, "Oh? And what might that be Miss Vivika?"

Meeting his gaze she answered, "If everything is as I have been led to believe, that would be 16."

Taking mental note of her choice in words, he wondered.

"Hmm, it would seem you are correct."

Bowing slightly, he put his hand to his chest, "I am Reiji Sakamaki, the second oldest son of Karl Heinz. As you seem to be very well informed I am led to think that you are aware of my other five brothers, yes?"

She nodded, "Yes, of course. In order it would be Shuu, you, Laito, Kanato, Ayato, and Subaru, correct?"

He seemed impressed, "Correct, I admit that it's surprising for you to know all of this information. Previous brides have proved to hold little to no knowledge over their transferring to our residence nor hold enough competence to grasp their situation."

Vivika chuckled, "Honestly I don't blame them, anyone would be cautious while being around much less living with actual vampires."

Seemingly deep in thought, he hummed absentmindedly.

"Now if it isn't too much trouble may you show me to my room? I would very much appreciate getting some rest, if that's alright."

Reiji fixed his glasses and nodded, "Ah yes, it'd be best to put introductions off until later, as some of my siblings seem to be missing. Follow me."

And with that he led the way up the stairs, sensing but choosing to ignore the lingering stare that weighed on his back.

'He's not what I expected, though I haven't met the oldest brother yet… I already think Reiji is better suited for the position to the throne…'
