The Next Day

05:00 a.m.

She was running, running as fast as her little 11-year old feet could carry her.

She had to be fast, very, very fast if she didn't want to get caught!

Already feeling the load of adrenaline weighing down on her frail body, she blinked the unwilling tears back hard, a small spreading smile making its way to her tiny plumb lips.

It didn't matter if she was caught! No! They should be the ones that cowered in fear before her! After all she had done it!

She had successfully fulfilled one of her goals! As her speed seemed to increase, glaring silver eyes glowed- and still she wasn't finished…

No! There were still more left…and she would make sure that every last one of them met their catastrophic end…

Dull amber eyes slowly opened, and blinked three times lazily. Looking around the room in a slow analyzing way, so she was still here? A Cheshire smile curved her plumb light red lips as she stood from her bed and made her way to a large wall mirror.

It was still dark out- though she knew the vampires were most likely still deep in sleep, as she stopped in front of the clean mirror she carefully observed her profile bathed in the moonlight. She was bare foot, clad in only a white nightgown; the outline of her lithe body could be made out.

Immediately she noticed the physical improvements as her wounds were gone; 'at least the most recent ones', she thought as she ran her hands over the deep scar right over her navel.

Brushing her fingers through her mid-back silky blue hair with fading grey ends, she smiled; 'I wouldn't have minded it if it had been cut shorter'.

For a moment she paused, amber eyes seemingly looking through the reflection in front of them, frowning at the feeble little girl that appeared.

With a long tangled mess of dark knee-length hair, thin blood covered body, and chain bound limbs, she hissed.

Resisting the impulsive urge to destroy, she took in a large breath.

It's alright; she was here now, far, far away from that prison.

'No, you know that's not right. Though far away you may be, you will never be free! Or have you forgotten the iron that binds you? Hahahahee!'

She flinched, trailing her eyes over the metal that was placed securely on her ankles, her wrists, and her neck resembling a choker. Touching it lightly she had the urge to laugh; if she wanted they could be played off as accessories, though Reiji was too observant to fall for something like that.

'Either way I will deal with it when the time comes.'

Deciding the best thing to do would be to get a shower she grabbed a few necessities and walked out.

'Now where is the bathroom?'

Roaming through the halls in silence she sighed, maybe she should ask?

But the only one she could ask was Reiji, as he was the only one she had met, and the only one whose room she could locate, as she had made sure to remember his unique presence.

'Ah~ I suppose I've no other choice.'

Making sure to avoid any other aura but his, she quickly made her way to him.

Hearing a set of light knocks he groaned softly, who in the world? He knew for a fact it couldn't be any of his brothers, not only was it too early, but they wouldn't bother trying to knock.

Scrunching his brows in annoyance, he made his way sluggishly over, opening the door he leaned against it and spoke in a heated question, "What the hell do you want?!"

When he heard no response he openly glared at the person in front of him only to mentally take a step back.

'Vivika!'

Quickly fixing his posture he made to push up his glasses only to realize that he wasn't wearing any. Hearing her abrupt chiming giggle he averted his eyes fighting down the heat on his face, "Well? Miss Vivika?"

"Oh, I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep, Reiji. I only wanted your assistance in the bath."

He choked, "What-?!" 'She wanted him with her on the bath?!'

As if sensing his dilemma she hurried to fix her mistake, "Oh! No Reiji not like that! I just need directions to the bathroom, if you wouldn't mind."

Quietly letting out a breath he cleared his throat.

"I'm really sorry for awakening you-"

"No, I am at fault for neglecting an obviously needed tour."

He closed the door in her face and came back an instant later, dressed in the same clothes as yesterday, glasses perched upon the bridge of his nose.

"Follow me."

As they made their way through long hallways that she'd yet to see, he spoke.

"May I ask why you are up at such an hour Miss Vivika? I know it's common for humans to wake up during the day, but is it not too early?"

At this she chuckled, "Yes, I suppose that's true. However I'll admit to having no sense of time. I assure you I will not always wake up at this hour."

He hummed in acknowledgement.

'No sense of time, hm?'

Pausing in front of twin doors, he turned.

"Here we are Miss-"

"Please stop with the 'Miss', just call me Vivika."

Fixing his glasses with a glint, he gave a small nod.

"Alright, Vivika you may bathe in here, if you need anything else just find me."

Before she could respond he'd disappeared, holding back a smile she stepped inside.

'Thank you, Reiji.'

Back in his room, Reiji laid down slowly on his bed, why was he being so lenient with her? She's nothing more than a human, a blood bag, food!

Yet he couldn't stop his mind from wondering to her, to the curves of her perfect figure that had been visible by her thin nightgown, and to the odd metal bands around her ankles, wrists, and neck.

Why would she wear such things?

Why did he care?

Rubbing the bridge of his nose he sighed, 'How troublesome.'

Fresh out the shower she sighed in content. 'Taking a shower is nice, calming…'

Unconsciously she let out a giggle and walked back to her room clad in only a light blue towel robe.

'I'll dress, and then head downstairs to see if I can hopefully find some food.'

Standing once more in front of the tall mirror she checked her attire for the day; a pretty silk collared casual white dress with long lace sleeves, and a full skirt reaching just above her white stoking covered knees with a unique hemming design at the bottom. To match she wore a set of shiny white dress shoes with small heel; brushing her hair she put it up in a high, neat pony tail with a silk white ribbon, making sure to brush her bangs as well.

It's not that she meant to be perfect or anything, she just figured she liked to dress herself up, it was comforting.

It reminded her of-

'Knock, knock.'

A visitor? Wasn't the sun just starting to rise? Why would anybody be awake?

Though frowning she opened the door, "Yes?"

Only to find it completely empty… she could tell that someone had been there, but judging from the remaining essence it wasn't Reiji.

Maybe it had been one of the brothers?

'No, the aura feels different than that of a vampire's.'

Maybe she should feel scared, but really she felt an adrenaline of excitement run through her veins in a sharp throb.

She let out a breathy giggle, "I love mysteries~"

'However, I think I'll put this on hold until Reiji gives me that tour, for now what I would like is some food…'

And her stomach grumbled as if on cue, ah!

Slapping her hand over her tummy she hissed, 'I forgot that I don't know where the kitchen is! I could ask Reiji, but I wouldn't want to interrupt his rest again'

Sighing she closed her door and sat down on the bed, 'looks like I'll have to wait until it's time for them to wake up.'

Looking out the window to the rising sun, she let out another sigh.

'I shouldn't complain, at least I know that I'll get something soon, unlike before…'

Lost in past memories, her eyes along with her thoughts darkened.

Absentmindedly rubbing her iron clad wrists, she smiled an eerie smile.

'Soon…'
