Chronicles of the Drowned City
C.20: Of Clubs and Crossbows...
"Wow, that injury looks bad..."
"But we got what we need for it." Cia nodded, still examining the now bandaged wound. She has to admit though, the girl at the clinic did a great job at patching the Wilding up.
The Guild is currently loafing about inside their bunk at the inn. The cost for a stay now has risen again, but it was well worth the money. They have more space, and even though there's still only 2 beds, it's big enough for two members to sleep on each that they won't have to risk suffocating to death while getting a good night's rest.
Chitose, as usual, is inside her own special little room, messing around with, as usual, animal parts.
It's the first time she's worked with shells, and frankly, she's enjoying it quite a bit. Combining shell and skin sure is great, but then again, aren't shells originally supposed to cover skin? Eh.
This is also the first time the Ninja's not surrounded by so much animal blood. Sure, some small splatters here and there, but nothing much.
Outside, it's a damn heavy storm. Lightning flashed as the sound of thunders roaring filled the air. The rain pounded at the ground mercilessly, dampening everything around it, the once calm winds turning into a deadly gale, pushing everything out of it's way, the clouds rolling in the sky like a restless black sea, white flashes occasionally coming from within it.
It made explorations in the Labyrinth impossible.
And once again, the dailiy activity in Armoroad has come to a stop. Not even the animals roaming about within the city dared to come out in such a heavy downpour.
Zakharia lied in bed, Ribu next to her, asleep, the Zodiak feverish, the Wildling still recovering from her wounds.
Rudollf and Guad lifted the girl's clothes up a little, revealing the bandaged area that is the girl's bite wound. Carefully, with the help of Cia, they peeled off the bandages and applied the salve onto the wound, noticing that the wound had gotten better, thanks to the salve and Cia's healing qi. Blood no longer leaks out of the wound, not even a small droplet. All that's left is the blood caked around the wound, which Guad proceeded to clean off carefully with a wet cloth.
Yuki and Adisa attended to the feverish Zakharia. Her wounds have recovered mostly, and her fever has gone down a bit, as opposed to yesterday where she was practically burning.
Getting a bowl of cold water, Yuki dipped a piece of cloth inside it, letting it soak in some water before he squezzed the excess water out, dabbing the girl's face carefully with it.
At the sudden contact, the Zodiak stirred awake, the first person she heard being Adisa.
"You ok there?" asked the Princess. The Zodiak merely nodded, a hum escaping her mouth, as if saying yes.
She felt a hand grab hers as well, and also something damp being placed on top of her burning forehead.
She reached out an arm to it, realising upon contact that someone had put a cold, damp cloth on her forehead. It eased her a little, cooling down her body slightly.
Yuki leaned on a wall, looking at the now concious girl. He sighed, wondering when they can get back into the Labyrinth so they can get the rest of those herbs.
But safe to say, he is relieved to hear the girl is still alright, all things considered.
Heinrich, meanwhile is down at the inn's lobby, talking a two people.
"So... you want to join our Guild...?" The two people nodded, a boy with orange, spiky hair with a surprising lack of armor for what looks to be a close combatant, and a girl with long, ebon colored hair, belts and various kinds of ammunition and arrows on her, a giant crossbow right beside her.
Heinrich contemplated their offer for a moment.
Well, they do already have about nine members.
But these people do look like competant fighters. They could be useful to the Guild.
But then again... could they really manage this many people at once?
"Well, how 'bout it?" The girl asked. Heinrich gave their offer some more thought.
Well... the boy seems competant enough... and they will need ranged fighters soon.
Hmm...
"Well...," Heinrich began,"I suppose you could." Both people's eyes brightened. Really? Yes!
"Alright! The name's Evita, Arbalist! And-"
"I'm her bro, Orion, Gladiator!"
"Nice to meet'cha!" they both said in unison. Heinrich just blinked.
Huh. Siblings. He... didn't expect that, to say the least.
"Oh, uh... alright... We'll uh, get you signed in the Guild tomorrow, when the Guildhouse opens." The two siblings nodded. Heinrich then led them towards the Guild's bunk.
Once they got to their bunk, Heinrich opened the door, letting the two new members come in right before he himself did.
"Uh... they're our Guild's newest members." Both siblings gave a slight nod, and so did the others.
"Hi, uh, I'm sorry if things aren't looking so good with us right now. I'm Adisa, a pleasure." The Arbalist nodded.
"Nah, it's ok! I heard this Guild's gone through some pretty tough hell. Say," Evita then produced a bag from within one of her many bags,"here. For you guys."
Cia, upon seeing the bag, took it carefully and opened it, revealing medicinal herbs.
Just enough for her to make Zakharia's fever medicine.
"Whoa, thanks! Can you read minds or something? This is just what I need right now!" Yuki quietly smacked himself on the face.
"Haha, nah, girl, I got no telepathy skill or anythin'~ I just happened to find those," Evita clarified. Cia nodded, then got out of the bunk, saying something along the lines of "mortar and pestle".
"Well, anyway... we'll do what we can here, so I hope we won't be a hindrance to ya'll!" said the Arbalist.
Both siblings then unloaded their things, tucking it away in one corner of the room. Once they're done, they went over to the two wounded girls, helping the others tend to them.
Well, now that's 11 members! Hopefully things will get better from here on out...
