Sven gasped as Zane threw him into a wall. He could see Kenji watching the fight. But what angered him was watching the Zurui guy holding Mika. "I'll be leaving now." He said calmly towards Zane and Kenji. "Come home later and I'll see you there." He turned and walked off.
"Mika!" Sven called after him angry. Zane smirked and Sven gasped as Zane's foot dug into his back. "I should just kill this bug."
"Enough." Kenji stepped forward. "Mika is heading home, no need to keep fighting him."
"Back off brat!" Zane growled and pushed Kenji away.
Sven glared and tried to reach his suitcase. I have to… save Mika!
"SVEN!" A gun shot sounded and the pressure came off Sven's back. "You okay Sven?!" Train called.
Sven got up and noticed Zane nursing an injured arm. Train had his gun pointed at Zane. Kenji was perched on a tree branch. "Where did he take Mika?!" Sven yelled.
"Why would I tell you?" Zane smirked.
"She's heading home!" Kenji growled. "Where she belongs." Kenji jumped off the branch and started to run away.
Zane growled, but followed. "Sven!" Eve called and jumped off the branch and started to run away.
Zane growled, but followed. "Sven!" Eve called and rushed to his side. "Are you okay?"
"I…. Mika…" Sven whispered sadly and reached for the abandoned locket. He clutched it gently and frowned. "We've got to find her."
"Don't worry Sven." Train frowned, putting his gun away. "We will."
Mika moaned as she slowly came to. Her head was hurting. One of the first things Mika noticed was that she was chained. The second was the fact that her senses were dull. It was dark and Mika couldn't see anything. Usually she could see to an extent, Train called it built in night vision. And her eyes weren't the only ones that she had come to rely on. All of her enhanced senses had become part of her, and now they weren't working. Mika tried to pull out her wings, but that wasn't working either. Fear ran through her as she tried again, but with the same results. She shifted her position and flinched as she heard the chains rattle around her ankle.
"They don't sound it, but they won't break." A woman's hoarse voice called from somewhere nearby.
"Who's there?" Mika tensed up.
"A fellow prisoner." The woman chuckled slightly but was interrupted by a cough.
"Are you okay?!" Mika wished for her hearing back so she could at least tell where the woman was.
"I'm fine." The woman sighed. "I've been here long enough to gesture to it…. I've actually lost count of the years that I have been trapped in here."
"I'm sorry." Mika called out and tried to break the chain again, hoping her strength would return. No luck.
"Why did they bring you here?"
"I don't know." Mika sighed sitting down. "I…I don't remember a lot of my past here… but they knew me from back then."
"Really?" The woman asked silently. "Then you were one of their experiment subjects."
Mika froze. "What do you mean?... What do you know?"
The woman was silent for a long time and Mika was scared something might have happened to her. "It was a long time ago." The woman finally sighed. "Long ago… I was a young scientist, hoping to change the world. I joined a team of scientist planning on changing the world by changing humans. We were hoping to make humans stronger, faster, and healthier. We began to design a pill to target each area of the human's development. I thought it would be years before we fully finished… My children would be so much older when it was completed…. But then I learned that the other members of my team were secretly experimenting on humans. I confronted them and tried to stop them… So I was thrown in here."
Mika listened to the woman's story and froze. "Um… Can… Can I ask you what your name is?!" Mika asked hopefully.
"Arina." The woman said calmly. "Arina Titaru. What about you, what's your name?"
Mika felt tears come to her eyes. "M….Mom…" She whispered weakly.
"What?" Arina asked.
"Mom." Mika whispered weakly. "You're alive…. You're here…." Mika strained against her chains more, wanting to get to her mom's side. "MOM!"
"M…Mika?" Arina whispered weakly. "Is… Is that you?"
Mika nodded as she strained against the chains. "Y-Yea! Mom!" She cried out happily. "I found you!"
"MIKA!" Arina called out, both happy and desperate. "MIKA! MY BABY!"
Mika smiled and tried to get her strength to work more, but none of it was working. "MOM!" Mika collapsed to the ground sadly. "I wish I could see you…"
"Oh Mika…" Arina whispered. "My baby girl…. I never thought I would get to see… to hear you talk again…. My baby girl."
Mika smiled. "Mom…" She smiled happily. "I'm so happy that I got to find you, finally."
"Oh Mika…"
A new feeling of happiness flooded Mika's heart. I found her… finally… I have found my families. She closed her eyes. I just wish I could see her
