I finally got to see my big brother Romano once again.
…I didn't want to tell him about what happened with Holy Roman so I tried my best to force that smile...
I guess it didn't work that well since the whole day he's been looking at me with concern even though he tried to act like he didn't know what was happening.
We went back to our country despite me having my green maid dress on and Romano actually wearing a maid outfit but for boys. We saw a a lot of pretty ladies along the way. Looks like big brother Spain's hard work off teaching him spanish paid off since Romano kept going towards every pretty lady and kept saying, "Besame! Besame!" They all would just react the same way. Laugh and blush lightly then they would pick him up and kiss him on the cheek then carried on with their day. Romano sure was a ladies man that day. While I was with him I tried to hard not to let my emotions show for the Roman Empire so I went along with him, but again it didn't work as well as I expected it to go.
Later that day, we went to the Leaning Tower Of Pisa. We ate a bunch of Pizza and all kinds of pasta. It actually cheered me up for a moment until we headed outside for a walk in the fields.
...Thats when I could've sworn I saw the Roman Empire...
"No…That can't be him…I must be hallucinating…" I thought to myself. Up ahead I saw a young boy who looked a lot like The Roman Empire. The only difference was his appearance. He was wearing a black suspenders shorts with a white button up shirt along with his sleeves rolled up to his wrists. He was also wearing some long white socks with black shoes. Like The Roman Empire, he had a serious face on but his was much colder and filled with hatred. When Romano was with another girl I ran towards him and hugged him and started tearing up a little.
"Oh, Roman Empire! I thought you were gone! I thought I'd never see you again!" I looked up and saw a man, who was walking with him, his red eyes just looked at me in shock for some reason but then brushed it off and laughed as he was rubbing the back of his silver hair.
"Kesesesese! You must be mistaken little girl." I looked at him in confusion then broke the hug and looked at the little boy staring at me with as if he recognized me or knew who I was but wasn't sure. The man went down on his knees and placed a hand over the little boys shoulders. "This man right here is West. Not that little name you just mentioned. Kesesese." He laughed again as the little boy touched his head in pain. "Are you okay West?"
"Y-yeah, I'm alright. It's just…looking at her dress is making my head hurt a lot." The little boy responded.
"O-oh! I-I'm sorry!" I quickly responded panicking a little.
"Alright Alright. Let's get you home, thats enough visiting for today." The man picked up the little boy and carried him away. As I saw them go the little boy turned back and started blushing. At that moment he looked exactly like The Roman Empire that I just started to shake and tears were coming down my cheeks.
"Hey Fratello!" Romano called out to me. I quickly wiped away my tears as he came this way. "Hey are you okay?" I turned around and smiled assuring him everything was alright.
"Whats wrong Fratello?" Romano finally asked. I looked up at him and smiled big and cheerful.
"What do you mean big brother?" I asked as I thought it would work.
"Look Fratello. I know somethings wrong. You can't fool me even if you try." He got up and walked over to me and looked at me straight in the eyes. "I might pick on you a lot, call you names, and you may be useless most of the time but I do that…" Romano looked away and looked back at me with his face embarrassed to say this. "Perché Ti Amo, Bambino!" He sighed and looked at me again. "Now, what ever it might be I'm here to help you with it. You're my Fratello meaning if you're in trouble, I'll always be there for you." He looked away and thought for a second. "Unless England is trying to take over our country then you're on your own." He then shook his head focusing back on his point. "What I'm trying to say is…."
"...If you need a shoulder to cry on…I'll be here for you on that..".
...Hearing those words just made my heart click and without realizing it…I was crying...
Romano looked at me in confusion. Before I could let him speak I jumped into his arms crying my heart out. "Oh, Fratello!" I cried. "It's the Roman Empire…! He's…he's…he's gone!" Romano was in shock. He hugged me back and rubbed my back.
"There there…just let it all out…" He responded in a calm voice.
"H-he promised me he'd come back!" I continued. "A-after we k-kissed he said he l-loved me a-and that after the war…I-I would be the first person he'd look for!"
"You did wha-" Romano was about to snap into his overly protective big brother mode until he realized now wasn't the time for it. He then sighed and mumbled to himself.
"I swear, I promise I won't let anybody else hurt you like that bastard did to you. Even if I'm far away from you, I will not allow for someone to hurt you this deeply ever again."
He looked back at me and stood still for a second to see and hear if by a chance I heard him but I was too busy crying I didn't hear what he said.
Since that day, Romano never took off the Roman Empire out of his head and what he did to Italy. He swore he'd never let that happen again, and he will keep it.
