Taking a witness statement I head of to see my wife. Entering the ward I can see that she is awake, so I call out to her
"Millie?"
"Yep. What do you want sarge?"
I walk over to her bed and get out the witness statement
"I need to take the witness statement" I told her then place a kiss on her forehead. I realise that she is looking at a empty left hand where her rings use to be. So I pull out a ring box with two new rings.
"sorry the hospital had to cut the others off and it was easier to replace them."
Slipping them on to her ring finger I tell her I have to run
"I'll be back tonight see you later" I place another kiss on her forehead and leave.
Just as I was getting in to the car my phone rang
"Gov?"
