I groaned lightly, head throbbing. I hope I didn't fall asleep in class again….. I thought as I stirred and shifted the pillow that my head rested on. Pillow? I thought, opening my eyes. This isn't my room. Suddenly I remembered.
The portal.
The Rahkshi and the water.
Gali rescuing me from the Rahkshi.
Ignoring the buzz in my head, I looked around the room that I was in. It was pretty plain, grey walls and a full window on the otherside. I sat up from the warm bed, looking around still. It seemed pretty quiet, but the sounds from outside were muffled by the window. Getting out of bed and going to the window, I looked out in awe at it. Ga-Metru lay before me, and it was bordered by two other Metrus. I must be at the Coliseum. I thought to myself, rubbing my head, annoyed that there was the buzzing inside of my head, like a fly flying around rotten food. Something blue on my arm caught my attention. Looking curiously at it, I realised that markings were inked onto my arm. Rubbing at my arm to remove it, or at least smear it, hoping that it wasn't what I thought it was. Nothing happened. I frowned, wondering how I got a tattoo on my arm. I went over to the door and peeked out, the corridor was empty, and not the mention one of the doors was slightly ajar. Quickly and quietly, I closed the door to my 'room' and dashed over to the open door. Closing it, I took in the room. It was much like the one I woke up in, only someone that I knew was in the bed.
"Michael." I gasped, eyes widening. He was out cold, breathing deeply. He looked unharmed, but….. there was a dark presence in the room. I decided to stay, just in case if something did happen.
I blinked myself awake, slightly annoyed of the noise that was going on around me. Someone clearly had no self concern for the others, and the other was trying to get him the quiet down. I narrowed my eyes.
"Ugh," I muttered, sitting up, black tipped blond hair falling off from my shoulders. Suddenly, the voices stopped.
"I think she's awake." Came a muffled voice from behind the door.
"I would think that it would be your fault that she's awake right now." Came a muffled female voice., clearly sounding annoyed at the male. The door opened, revealing a red male robot and a blue female robot.
"Um…. Hello?" I said, sounding a little nervous and little hairs rising on the back of my neck.
"Hello, how are you feeling?" The female asked, looking a bit concerned.
"A minor headache and I'm a little sore, but nothing too serious." I replied, looking at the two of them.
"It's a good thing Tahu found you after you defeated that Rahkshi. From what he told me, you were burning up with a fever. My name is Gali." She said, and gestured to the red one, who was looking out of the window. "And this is Tahu."
Tahu nodded as his name was mentioned, then turned to face me.
"You have a powerful ability, I saw it myself." He said, looking a little bit grim. "Where did you learn it?" I blinked at him, confused at what he meant.
"Name's Jessica Sawyer, and whatever you mean by 'powerful ability' is beyond m-! Wait…... I remember I did feel something building up…. then I flung out my hands…. then the Rahkshi started to disintegrate… my god… It was just like in the vision I had…" I said, eyes widening in realization. Tahu and Gali looked at me, taking in what I said.
"It may be best if you saw our Turaga about this.." Gali said soothingly, offering her hand to help me up. I glared at it.
"Not till I find my friends, especially Sydney. She's got some explaining to do." I said hotly, glaring at the two robots.
"Try not to freak out on how you look." Tahu snapped back, and walked out of the room. Gali frowned at the retreating figure, then turned back to me.
"Try not to aggravate him. The news of the Kra-Toa has made him irritable." Gali said to me.
"Only if he aggravates me." I retorted hotly, getting out of bed.
I feel amazing! This was so cool! I thought as I bounced around the room. The green robot that I first met had introduced himself as Lewa, and having explained that he knew Sydney and where I was, I felt like a chain of firecrackers going off.
"Please calm down, sister." Lewa begged as I bounced on, then off of the bed.
"But I feel so exhilarated!" I squealed, throwing my arms in the air. Suddenly the door opened, revealing a white robot. I stopped to stare at him, knowing my eyes were bugging out of my head. "There's more of you guys?" I asked Lewa, looking at him.
The white robot chuckled as he watched the two of us. "I never thought we'd find a Toa more energetic than you, Lewa."
"Who's more energetic?" Came a familiar voice, and Emilee's head poked out from behind the white robot.
"Emilee! This place is awesome-cool!" I exclaimed as I ran over to her and gave her a big hug. Emilee's eyes widened, and returned the hug.
"Amanda, thank goodness you're OK. Kopaka told me that there were others here as well-"
"Fast-stop! 'Others' are here?" I asked her, eyes widening. Emilee nodded.
"Yeah, more 'Toa', and our friends are here as well." She said, tilting her head slightly.
"What are we still-waiting for? Let's go see them!" I said, excited to see more of this place. I dashed out of the room, only to come back a second later. "Umm….. Where do we go?" 'Kopaka' and Lewa chuckled.
"Hey, she's better than Sydney when she has a sugar rush." Emilee retorted. Lewa's eyes widened, and Kopaka shivered.
"Never," Kopaka started, "am I giving that girl, too much sugar, again." Lewa nodded, agreeing with his icy friend.
I was half awake when I heard the light sound of breathing. I shot upright, startled and on guard. I looked around as I started to realize that I wasn't in my usual 'safe' zone. Another light breath sounded at the foot of my bed. I looked and blinked in surprise at the sight of Sydney sound asleep in a chair by the door. Her usual clothes were changed to what looked like a shawl, a pair of brown shorts that almost reached her knees, and a simple dress that only covered the front. Blue and gold markings covered her arms, neck, and face. I soon realized that I also had tattoos on my arms, but they were black and grey. Sydney suddenly whimpered, twitching and mumbling; "No, leave my daddy alone…." I froze at that statement, unsure of what was wrong.
"Sydney." I whispered, trying to wake her. Something was definitely wrong, because she kept muttering.
"No, they… they didn't do anything to you…"
"Sydney, wake up." I said firmly, trying not to be too loud and getting out of the bed. She kept twitching and mumbling.
"No, please, leave them alone… N-no...nononononono! NO!" Sydney cried out, now thrashing against something that was happening in her head.
Now fully awake, I got out of the bed and began saying, "Sydney, you need to wake up!" Sydney's eyes flew open, and she gasped, falling from the chair and curling up in a small ball. I rushed over to her. "Sydney, no one's here, you're safe!" I told her, shaking her hard as she began to shake as though she was having a seizure. Sydney looked up at me, still shaking.
"He's here. He's come back to get me." She said, brown eyes wide with fear.
"Who, Sydney?", I asked her as she began looking around the room like it was a dungeon.
"Him…. the one who gave me the scars. Enemy of Toa Nuva." She said, clutching her right hand. I growled in anger as I realized who she was talking about.
Makuta… I thought as I remembered how he took over my body and manipulated me. As I thought about what had happened, I heard someone shout, "Hands off, Kra-Toa!", and then I felt a stone ball slam into my head and launch me back into the far wall. Sydney started to shriek at the top of her lungs. Slightly dazed, I saw that Sydney was now on her feet, screaming at Pohuta. I had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well for him.
I flinched at the sound of Sydney shrieking at Pohuta. So strange how a calm girl could go all out Saber-tooth tiger on someone. A couple of minutes later, Emilee and Amanda and two more robots turned at the corner. Emilee raised an eyebrow.
"Is that Sydney?" She asked, sounding a bit concerned. I nodded.
"Isn't it strange how she can be so calm, but go into a rage if you do something?" I asked my two friends. Emilee nodded, looking nervously at the door. Amanda stared wide eyed at the door as well.
"Will stone brother be sure-fine?" Asked the green robot. The white robot looked at the wall, as if to study it. Emilee looked at him odd.
"I still wanna know how these 'Kanohi' work!" Emilee muttered, rolling her eyes. Pohuta suddenly burst out of the room, running down the hall, with what looked like floating pillows attacking him. Sydney chased him, screaming what sounded spanish swears. Everyone, including me, oggled at the odd sight. Then Michael stuck his head out of the room, looking a bit stunned. His head was bleeding a little bit too.
"Michael! What did he do to you?!" I gasped, shocked at this. He grinned slightly, looking nervous.
"Sydney was having a nightmare of some sort…Think he thought I was going to harm her…" He said, rubbing the back of his head. I looked towards the direction that the two ran. Emilee started to laugh.
"That folks, is why you don't piss off Sydney." She said jokingly. Amanda did a nervous laugh, changing to giggles. I shook my head.
"Lets get you bandged up first, then we can chase those two down." I said, smiling at Sydney's friend.
I thought that I'd see such a funny sight. A teenage girl chasing the Toa of Stone with levitating pillows. Onua and Takanuva started laughing at the sight. I looked at them.
"This happen before?" I asked. Takanuva could only nod, for speaking seemed a little hard for him right then.
"Pohatu woke Sydney up once, only she managed to grab her pencils and start throwing them. Kopaka stopped her before she did any serious damage." Onua told me, still chuckling. I grinned sheepishly, a little concerned about that girls sanity.
"Don't worry, she maybe a little crazy, but she's a really sweet girl." Onua continued, seeing that I wasn't entirely convinced.
"Right, and pigs fly." I said, rolling my eyes and continuing down the hall with the two Toa. Takanuva looked at me funny.
"Sydney said something like that to Lewa once, we got a good laugh at his facial expression." Takanuva began, grinning. But the grin changed to a look of awe. I looked at him, taking note that he and I were now suddenly eye level. I blinked, and shrugged.
"Lets just find the others…" I muttered, rubbing the back of my head.
I didn't what was weirder, Sydney chasing the Stone Toa with floating pillows attacking him, or the fact that Michael didn't have a concussion.
"Seriously, I'm OK. It's just a headache." Michael said as he shook his head, then put his hand over the wound to help stem the bleeding. Kasey made a face.
"You'll be thankful once that's patched up, you won't pass out from that. And I want what really happened. I only know that Pohuta yelled at ya to get away from Syd…" Kasey said firmly.
"Yeah, and how did you end up here?" I asked him, crossing my arms. Michael looked down, as if he'd rather not tell. I looked at him crossly. "Dude, this isn't gonna help your case any. If you don't speak up and tell."
"I didn't have a choice. Is that good enough?" He growled, looking directly at me. I felt that same burning feeling from before.
"Listen, you may be able to explain what the hell happened in the 'Archives'. So I would spill." I hissed at him, his eyes narrowed.
"That may be what you would do, but last I checked, you're not me." He snapped at me. I lost it and leapt at him, knocking him to the floor, wrestling him.
"STOP!" I was suddenly pulled off of Michael and on my feet, along with Michael. Both of us looked confused at the doorway. A blue and gold Toa stood there and stormed over. "Emilee Burton, you have no right to provoke Michael like that!" She then turned to Michael. "I have no idea what the fudge happened down there in the Archives, but it may help you due to the fact Tahu wants to kick your butt right now…. And Emilee, why are you taller than me?" My jaw dropped. I knew no other person who said 'What the fudge'. I looked at Michael, who was just as confused…. Only, a black and dark grey Toa stood where he once stood.
Michael stopped staring as he realized that he had changed also, and looked at his new appearance for a second before sighing. "And this is why both the Toa Nuva and Emilee hates my guts to the point they'd most likely kill me if it didn't go against their Toa Code."
"Nobody hates your guts, Michael, especially not Emilee, she's just worried about you…. And why are you a Toa? Did I miss something?!" Sydney asked, blue eyes flickering around the room.
"Well, me and Emilee aren't the only two human-turned-Toa in the room." Michael quipped as he gestured at me, then looked down at his hand and began examining it. "As for why they hate me, well it's a bit obvious, don't you think? From what I can gather, whereas most Toa follow Mata Nui, most Kra-Toa, self not included, are the Toa of Makuta. Add the fact that I have the same powers as their most hated enemy, and of my… unintentional… actions in Onu-Metru, and I can see why they hate me." With that said, Michael looked out of the window and began staring into the distance.
"Just because Makuta took over your body doesn't mean you're evil…" Sydney muttered, then added. "I don't think it's your fault that it happened, so quit blaming yourself." Suddenly everyone in the room was looking at her. "...What?" Sydney asked, looking confused.
"Did…. Did you just read my mind?" Michael asked, eyes widening.
"I…. have no buggered clue… I've been picking up odd things ever since I woke up…." Sydney admitted, rubbing the back of her head. I looked at the two of them, then at myself, suddenly realizing what had happened.
"How did you guys do that?!" Amanda asked, her face looking very befuddled. Kasey had the same expression, only she didn't say anything.
"I… I don't know…. Michael, any idea why we look like this now?" I gulped, looking at him.
"Well, since me and you were most likely 'transformed' while we were fighting, and Sydney transformed from being angry enough at Pohatu, I'm guessing that the trigger is either stress or adrenaline." He said absentmindedly as he continued to stare out the window, then snorted. "Not that it's done me any good."
"I'll back you up, Mike. If Tahu gives you any crap, I'll tell him that your really a good guy, and Mukuta was just being a butt takin' over your body!" Sydney said at that statement. "And I think what mask Emilee is wearing is the mask of shielding….. Right?" She then said timidly, looking closer at my mask.
Michael turned to look at me for a few seconds, then went back to looking out of the window. "Well, it could be, but it could also be the fully inorganic version of the Telepathy Kanohi, or even the Kanohi of Valor. Of course, we can't be sure until we test it." Suddenly Amanda squealed, and Sydney made an "Oof!", which then followed with a bang.
"Lewa! You big meanie!" Amanda cried, looking hurtfully at the Toa of Air, who was now trying to suppress his giggles.
"Amanda…. please get off… and the mask you're wearing is definitely the mask of Regeneration." Sydney bleeped, looking unamused at Lewa, who was now laughing. Then….. Tahu came into the room.
Jessica followed Tahu and Gali for a good couple of minutes before they came across a brown robot, carrying two pillows. Both Gali and Tahu raised an 'eyebrow', while Jessica looked blankly at him.
"Brother? Why do you have two pillows?" Gali asked him, sounding a bit consured.
"Sydney happened. I kicked a Kohlii ball at the Kra-Toa because he had her by the shoulders… Took it as a threat… Then she jumps up and started to shriek at me. Then these flew off the bed in there and started to attack me!" He said, holding one of them up. Jessica stifled a laugh and muttered amazingly; "Attack of the floating pillows." Tahu suddenly growled, which stopped Jessie from her funny moment, and stormed off.
"Is that normal for him to do that?" Jessica asked, frowning at the retreating Toa of Fire. Gali and Pohatu nodded.
"Should we go after him? So he doesn't do anything stupid?" Pohuta asked, looking at Gali. She nodded.
"I'll go. I think I can take him." Jessica said, taking off after him before any of the two robots could say anything. Jessie was halfway down the down the hall when she heard yelling. Tahu was yelling at someone, and what sounded like her friends trying to stick up for that person. Jessica started to run, hoping that things weren't going to get ugly. Just as she reached the door, Tahu had risen his fist to punch a black and gray robot. She stormed over and grabbed it. "You were going to hurt him, weren't you, Tahu? What did he ever do to you? Hm?" Jessica asked, a hard look on her face. Tahu blinked, clearly befuddled.
"Oh Mata Nui! Jessie and Emilee are twin Toa!" Sydney squeaked, causing Jessica to turn and gape at her friend. "What? Its true!" She retorted, making a childish face of defiance.
"What sister-friend says is real-true. You two look-see alike." Said the green one, clearly showing that he had been laughing not to long ago.
"It seems everyone is awake." The white one said, looking at the humans-turned-Toa. Jessica sighed, and looked hotly at Tahu.
"Attack any of them, and I'll seriously make you regret it." She hissed before letting go of his arm. Tahu's eyes narrowed at the girl, and gave a single nod.
"Come on, all of you, time to see the Turaga. Sydney gasped, looking excited. Amanda, who was standing next to her(both of them were the same height, only difference was the different colors and "hair" lengths, also not to mention masks), leaned to the side and gave her an odd look.
"Why so happy-smile, Sydney?" She asked, eyebrows furrowing. Sydney didn't answer, only started to fidget, looking very happy. Michael(Jessica presumed that the black and grey toa was him), rolled his eyes and lead the fidgeting Sydney out of the room as the all of them filled out. Jessica smiled, knowing that her friends were still the same people and sane as well.
Onua perked up a little, hearing the babble of voices coming down the hall. Mark, as he had introduced himself, looked over as well. He didn't seem to notice that he was a full blown Toa of Iron. He seemed a little more curious on what was coming. The voices got closer, and Onua could make out Tahu's grumbling, Lewa joking with Gali, and Kopaka talking to someone.
"Hey guys, look!" One very familiar voice said. The chatter stopped, then a couple seconds later, laughter rang out.
"Sydney….. That's the best fail moonwalk, ever!" A female voice said, trying to stop giggling.
"Bet-guess I could do better-good." Lewa quipped, chuckling.
"I'd pay to see that." Pohatu commented. Mark, Onua, and Takanuva rounded the corner, only for Mark to be bumped into by a very small Toa walking backwards. Instantly, the Toa squealed and dashed behind the Kra-Toa. Tahu facepalmed while the female Toa behind him chuckled.
"Sydney, you're such a spazz." She giggled, shaking her head.
"Not my fault he pulled a ninja!" Sydney exclaimed, coming out from behind the Kra-Toa. Onua grinned.
"Hello Sydney… Nice to see you again." Onua said, his grin broadening at her bemused face. Onua then looked at the Kra-Toa, and noticing that he was looking down, trying not to met Mark's or Takanuva's eyes.
"Takanuva, what's the deal with the Kra-Toa? You know him or something?" Onua said as the Kra-Toa tried to be as small as possible. Takanuva looked at him, and frowned slightly.
"Are you ok? You were in pretty bad shape when I brought you back." Takanuva asked him, looking concerned at him. The Toa of Shadow rubbed the back of his head.
"Thanks for that." The Kra-Toa said as he fidgeted back and forth. "Also, I… want to apologize for what I did earlier to both of you."
"Hey, kid, it's ok. Kinda had a feeling that wasn't really you." Mark said, seeing that he looked downtrodden. "By the way, my name is-"
"Mark, you were born in England. I have an aunt there too!" Sydney said, grinning from 'ear to ear'. Mark's jaw dropped and six of the other Toa started to laugh. "What?" She asked, looking up to the Kra-Toa. "Was it something I said, Michael?"
"You read his 'thought stream'." Michael said as he chuckled at Mark's expression.
"I still have no idea how I'm doing it…." Sydney muttered "Sorry about that."
"It…. it's ok….. Bloody hell that's spooky…." Mark said, looking pretty surprised at the little Toa.
"I may have a solution to both how we can prevent you from hearing our 'real' thoughts and how for us to return to our human forms." Michael said, still chuckling.
"And that is?" Said the white and red toa, sounding a bit confused.
"Umm… shouldn't we introduce ourselves to Mark here?" Sydney quipped lightly, gesturing to the flabbergasted Toa. The bronze colored Toa stepped forward to Mark.
"My name is Kasey, it's nice to met you." She said, giving a small wave. "Jessica is the red and white Toa." Jessica nodded when her name was said. "Emilee is the opposite base colors of Jessie, white and red."
"'Sup." She said, smiling slightly.
"Amanda is the light blue and white one. Sydney is the dark blue and gold one." Kasey continued, gesturing to the smallest two of trio.
"Hello!" Amanda said cheerfully, waving.
"And I think you already know Michael." Kasey said, nodding her head towards Michael, who smiled meekly and waved. Mark nodded at Kasey's introductions, smile growing as he studied each of the six toa. Tahu snorted.
"We should be going now, the Turaga won't appreciate it if we are late." He growled, glaring directly at Michael, who returned the glare.
"Stop bickering, you two." Gali said firmly, eyes narrowing. And now leading the group, Gali led her Toa team, and the new Toa from Earth.
Teridax opened his eyes. Growling, he slammed his fist down onto his arm rest. Several attempts to reach the Toa of Shadow where fruitless. Something was blocking his connection to him. Frustrated, he attempted to reach out, persuade him. Nothing, only a mental wall. But earlier, he did discover that human that assisted the Toa Nuva was in Metru Nui, Teridax at opened her memory of his downfall to her world and twisted it, making it so it was the Toa Nuva and her family that fell, not him. Teridax again growled, the mental wall was still up.
"Father, is it necessary for that human Toa to join us? We have a more willing volunteer." Came a voice, trying to sound helpful. Teridax stood up and glared in the general direction of the voice.
"For the record, it would have been would have been better if he'd stayed, those Toa won't accept him into their ranks. And what I heard, he made quite the mess in the lower levels of the Archives." Teridax replied, patiently with the younger Makuta. "And this particular human is the only one with the ability of the shadows." The other being went quiet, unsure of what to say. "Ruunaja, I have a job for you."
"And what may that be…. Father?"
Toa-of-Spirit: Dun-dun-duuuuun! What does Makuta have in store for these new Toa? Will they be able to sort out what happened in the 'Deep Archives'? Or will Tahu get a smack down?... Unless the Turaga interferes… Anything you'd want to add Thanatos's?
Thanatos's Scribe: Well, besides the fact that it's definitely going to be interesting as for both how the new Toa handle meeting the Turaga and what their new accommodations will be, I've got nothing. So, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go hunt down a certain Ko-Toa.
Toa-of-Spirit: Oh Dear, did Kopaka do something to you? D: Or was it Nuju? Anywho, go visit my DA page listed in my profile and take a look at the new Bionicle drawings that I posted, and please check out KrytenMarkGen-0's DA profile to to check out his Bionicle drawings.. Please leave a review and follow/fav the story please… I should check to make sure that- WAAAAAA! *runs away screaming* WHHHY MMEEEE!
Tahu: That'll never get old XD *takes mask off*
Lewa: Fire-spitter, wasn't that harsh-cruel?! ):
Tahu: Naaa, needed a good laugh, she's the perfect one to pull a prank on. :D
Thanatos's Scribe: Oooh, Taaahhuuu… *Pulls out scythe*
Tahu: O.O; ohs*** *runs away*
Thanatos's Scribe: Get back here, you god***m anime-collection ruiner! *Chases after Tahu on a Gukko bird*
Lewa:... I thought that Nuju did it O_o
Kopaka: No…. All Tahu….
Lewa: Dang… 5 chapters and 2 of us gone O_O; who's next! D:
Michael: Well, with that calculation just targeting the Toa Nuva, it'll most likely be you, with Gali and Takanuva being the last or not even happening.
Lewa: DD: *flees*
Sydney: Oh fudge nuts…. Really Michael? I heard that Pohuta was coming back… Jessica forgave him, thankfully.
Michael: While, I know that, and you know that, but they don't know that.
Sydney: True… but they are bound to find out eventually… Right?
Michael: … D**nit, I think that Makuta influenced me a little on my pranks. If you'll excuse me for an hour or two, I've got to go remove our new 'chandelier'.
Sydney:... Again? Seriously? Am I gonna have to put a mental steel wall in your head?
Michael: Nah, the shield's fine, I think it's more of a 'post-hypnotic suggestion' kind of thing that gets out in my pranks.
Sydney:... Ok… I trust ya on this one. *pats Michael on the back* I'll help you take it down.
Michael: Thanks. And to be honest, though, it's more of a 'him' than a 'it'... and I think that Thanatos's needs some help 'making' a new coat hanger…. Gottagobye! *Uses Teleport Kanoka disk on self*
Pohatu: GET ME DOWN FROM HERE, MAKUTA-D****T!
Sydney: O_o *blinks* Oookkk then….. BYE PEOPLE! *dashes off to help Pohatu*
Amanda: *holds up sign that says* No more pranks plz!
Michael: *Pokes head out of portal and holds up sign that says* Same chance for that is for the chance of Makuta sincerely repenting and awakening Mata Nui willingly!
Amanda: *holds up another sign* True that, dude….
