Chapter 24: The Backfired Plan
"YOU WANT US TO DO WHAT?!" Hody Jr. yelled in pure anger. Ivy scowled up at him as she had her arms folded over her chest.
"If you let me finish you might actually understand." Ivy said flatly.
"Fine, then explain it better because what I'm hearing is something that I will never approve." Hody Jr. said as he sat back in his seat.
"We can still go with the plan of how we are gonna get in but just to be sure that we will get in and out without any problems we will need someone to map out the area and the building. That person will, of course, be me." Ivy said without any hesitation as they all eyed her with dumbfounded expressions.
"Stop looking at me like that!" Ivy said as she glared at them.
"We're not about to send you back with the same people who hurt you without someone with you." One Fishman said as he frowned.
"I'll be fine; you're not the only ones who were improving your skills throughout the time we were getting the first plan ready." Ivy said in a nonchalant attitude.
"How can you act like this isn't a big deal?" Hody Jr. asked while giving her an ugly mug.
"It's not as much of a big deal as you're making it out to be." Ivy said as she wasn't fazed by him at all. Hody chuckled as he watched his step-daughter with a proud look on his face.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SO PROUD OF OLD MAN?!" Hody Jr. exclaimed in irritation.
"Lighten up Jr; I'm sure Ivy has a great plan that will ensure her own safety and ours. Stop being rude and hear her out first." Honey said with a playful smile.
"I really don't get you two." Hody Jr. mumbled as he did as his mother asked of him.
"They all are pretty reckless in their own right." The others thought as they all gave blank faces.
"What do you guys say, do you want to test it out and see what cons and pros we can pick out from it?" Ivy asked everyone as she gave a soft smile.
"We'll try it out just to see." Another Fishman said as he stood up with the rest and to the field.
~A Few Hours Later~
They all stood in front of her with their arms folded tightly over their chests, many with frowns and other with looks of amusement. Compared to Ivy they all towered over her as they tried to intimidate her as she waited for their thoughts on her plan. She felt beads of sweat slowly slid down her face as she searched for any approving faces in the crowd to see that they all looked as if she had said the dumbest thing in the world. She finally admitted defeat when she heard some of them chuckle at her and then they all burst into a fit of laughter.
"You could at least tell me it's stupid instead of laughing at me." Ivy said as gloomy aura casted over her.
"It's a great plan, and we'll use it. However, the problem is that you're gonna be put through some harsh training for such a critical role in this plan, which we know you won't want to do." Hody said with a smirk.
"Especially with us." Another Fishman one said with a menacing smirk.
"Oh shit." Ivy said as she was surrounded by sadist grins and menacing appearances.
"What in the hell have I done this time?" Ivy asked herself as Honey and Hody laughed at her from a distance with all of the Merfolk and Fishman children.
"You two knew they'd do that didn't you?" Ivy asked in irritation when she came up to them.
"Yep." They both said in a blunt manner with smiles on their faces.
"I hate you guys!" Ivy growled as she stomped off and walked away from them as they all laughed their heads off.
"Just who the hell do they think they are making fun of me like that? I'll show them what the hell I can do; I'm not that weak dammit." Ivy mumbled to herself as she stormed off until she say a big and bulky shadow looming over her more smaller and frail one.
"Stop your whining, midget." Hody said as he lightly ruffled her hair.
"Midget? I'll kick that bad leg of yours, you know?" Ivy asked with an incredulous facial expression.
"Let's see you try, part of your training is to take us down anyway." Hody said as he smiled down at her.
"HUH?!" Ivy asked in shock as she looked back to Hody Jr. and Honey for any sign of disapproval. "Save me dammit!" Ivy yelled at Hody Jr.
"For what? You always say that I'm too protective so I'm pretty sure you can save yourself just as well as any of us could. It's not as hard as you think especially if my mom can do it." Hody Jr. said without any sign of disapproval.
Ivy felt a vein on her temple throb as she rattled her brain for a way to get out of the mess she had caused. In one swift move she took off into a sprint and left them all behind as she ran for her life. Just as soon as she turned her head around to see of anyone was chasing after her she saw that they all were just standing there until she ran into someone's arms. Standing, well floating in front of her was Den wearing a soft smile on his face.
"Don't tell me, you're in this too?" Ivy asked hesitantly.
"Yep." Den said flatly. Ivy felt like her world had been crushed.
"You guys suck." Ivy said as she became depressed once again and gave up on escaping.
Hope you guys liked it and please tell me if you see any errors. I didn't have much time to check it thoroughly because I wanted to get it to you guys as quickly as I could.
