The song here is "Mad Hatter" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Mad Hatter

Gabriel appeared in the Men of Letters bunker and at will, his appearances shimmered and he was now the infamous Anne Cromwell. He began walking down the corridors and stopped when he caught his reflection. This Anne Cromwell was quite gorgeous and he couldn't help but stare at himself.

He puckered his lips in a kiss and continued walking the corridors with a grin on his lips. He caught a glimpse of Sam and Dean, but when they looked at him, they just gave weak smiles and returned to their work. He would have loved to have teased them, say something that only he would say and laugh as he left them thinking it over.

Then again, if they knew he was alive, they'd come to him with all their drama. He was done. The last time he allowed them to unload their crap on him, it didn't work out so well. How the Hell did Castiel do it? In order to put up with their shit, he must really like… obsessively.

Eventually, Gabriel was getting annoyed by the endless corridors, but soon found his way and had arrived at Anne's bedroom, which seemed like miles away. When he opened the door, there was no one inside and that was just the way he liked it.

He stepped in and closed the door behind him. He didn't plan on confronting Anne and interviewing her. No, he knew all girls kept journals, especially hunters. Gabriel searched for her journal and quickly found it on a desk, as if waiting for him. Too easy, but there was no trap here. They were clueless.

He grinned and picked it up, reading through it quickly. He soon found the pages that spoke about her mother and he committed the information to his memory.

Anne suspected that her mother got ripped off somehow; that her mother's deal was invalid. She also suspected a particular group of demons that she had once encountered and if it wasn't for her mother's deal, she would have sworn they did this just to send her a message.

The key bit of information that Gabriel had found was that Anne was already alive when her mother made the deal. This is what Nerilla was after. Somewhere in Hell, was a demon who probably knew Anne was alive, but saw the opportunity to snatch a soul and demonize it.

If that was true, this demon probably did it before.

Gabriel snapped his fingers and got out before he was discovered. He stood in that motel room, back to his good old looks and when he met Nerilla's eyes, he grinned and brushed his sleeves, as if to say that was hard work.

She sighed and rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest.

"What do you know?" she asked him and he grinned, remaining silent. She growled and he let out a small laugh and he rolled his eyes.

"So impatient." He said and when he met her eyes, annoyance flickered darkly. He told her all that he had discovered, but withheld the most important fact just for a little fun. When she raised an eyebrow at him, unimpressed, she glared and growled.

"I'll rip your wings off if you don't tell me." she said, knowing he wasn't telling her everything just to piss her off. Oh, how she knew him so well.

"Anne was already alive." He said and Nerilla's expression went from shock to blank. Gabriel grinned and nodded his head.

"I have to tell C–" she said, cutting herself off before she said her Queen's name. She trusted Gabriel, but it didn't feel right to talk about her to him. And she certainly didn't want him to know that the Queen of Hell was pregnant. He might be her friend, but he might just let Heaven know ahead of schedule that Hell would soon have another Cambion.

She couldn't compromise the baby's safety.

"Tell Crowley?" Gabriel asked her, judgment cast aside.

"He has to know that Zephyr wasn't playing by the rules." Nerilla said and Gabriel let out a small laugh.

"I didn't think demons played by rules." He said, being somewhat sarcastic. She narrowed her eyes at him and smirked.

"We do, but we're just not nerds like the angels." She said and grinned as his smile faded.

He placed his hands in his pockets and looked at the floor for a few seconds. Then, when he lifted his eyes up to her, it was a stare she rarely saw, hardly received. He was getting serious and that wasn't pleasant.

"My brothers might have been strict with the rules, but it's only because of one that disregarded them that Hell was created." He said and she didn't dare say anything. He wasn't in a mood for her smartass replies. She'd rather have him mischief than pissed off.

After a couple of seconds passed, he took her silence as a sort of remorse and placed a small grin on his face.

"My guess is that this wasn't Zephyr's first time." he said and Nerilla knit her eyebrows and then seemed slightly furious. Then, she quickly brushed off her anger and smiled at him.

"How about triple or nothing?" she asked him and his lips broadened in a large grin.

"Go on." He said, listening attentively.

"I'll talk to Crowley first and if we have to investigate, you're helping." she said and once he agreed.

And by Crowley, Nerilla really meant Clara, the one who sent her on this treasure hunt.
