A/N: Hi everyone, here's what happens after Ying is patched up by Yin...

OC Description:

Codename: Ying (which stands for the flower sakura in chinese)
Her real name is Sendo Erika. Her Messier Code is KS917. Also known as "Kuro no Tenshi" Her ability is to create black holes which suck everything that comes in contact with it to disappear. Her remuneration is to drink the blood of a man she likes (HINT). However, she normally just uses her own blood. Her mission out fit is a black hooded cloak, over her black top with black and white striped sleeve. Her pleated skirt is trimmed white at the bottom and she also wears black long socks with high heels.
Ying likes to keep her hair down.

Chapter 6: Solo, on his own

Hei held the still unconscious Ying in his hands. He had covered her in his black trench coat just so she wouldn't get cold. Yin had helped her out of the blood stained dress and fitted her with one of Hei's spare tank tops. Dawn was slowly approaching, the sun had peeped its head slowly out of the horizon. The morning dew was almost refreshing, although only him himself could enjoy it. Hei slowly moved towards Misuzu, almost daydreaming as if on a normal walk.

They arrived back at Misuzu at about 10 minutes. Hei gently placed Ying on her bed and made towards the kitchen, hoping that he wouldn't be alone when eating breakfast. Taking a backwards glance at the figure on the bed, Hei wondered whether she had completed her remuneration yet. She wouldn't just disappear would she? Another thought lingered in his mind. He thought about the mission Mao had given him. He didn't need a reason to do so. It was natural to protect your little sister.

Misaki looked up at the clock, 12 already, time to get some lunch. She stood up, and walked out of the department. Her excursion with BK201 always didn't end quickly enough. She had arrived at the department yawning, only to find that a bunch of undefined mysteries about last night's events were still nagging at her. The strangest one was that Kanami had told her that VB893, BK201 and, KS917 were active in the building. When she arrived, BK201 was present, while VB893 who was the host was dead on the floor, his star had fallen just minutes ago. Where was KS917? She couldn't see why a contractor would want to show up at a party like this if it wasn't for an assassination. Misaki's mind still lingered around the thought that the two were working together, but that caused another problem. Where was KS917 when BK201 murdered the host? Could it be, that she was somewhere else, trying to get everyone's attention off BK201? Or was it that KS917 was actually present in the room, but hidden from them? But the time that her star was active, BK201 was in the room with the host, so if she was indeed in the room, why had nothing disappeared? Her ability to create Black holes should have eliminated everything in its path. Another thought came to mind, KS917 and BK201 appearing in the same building could have just been a coincidence, that they had nothing to do with each other at all.

Then again, there was the girl. She wondered what would happen to her if BK201 man handled her badly injured state. Besides all that, how did both the contractors get inside the party in the first place? All the guests had to walk through the front door the police was guarding, how did they let that slip?

Misaki sighed, why was things revolving around BK201 and KS917 always so complicated?

xx Back at Misuzu (Ying's perspective)...xx

I tried to turn over, but stopped immediately as pain ran through me. Slowly, my eyes fluttered open, taking in my surroundings. I was back in my room, the sun shone through the open window onto the floor and glittered. There was a very reassuring aroma drifting about, I wondered whether it was just getting used to Misuzu. Summoning all the energy with me, I sat up, only to see that I was no longer wearing my dress, but a tank top. It looked almost too big for me, and was giving off a unique fragrance I was too familiar with.

Just then, the door opened.

"Ying, you're awake" Hei said as he hurried towards me. I tried to reply, but found that only a minor rasp left my lips. I felt the bandages around my neck, I may have damaged my larynx. "It's okay, I'll get you some water."Hei said hurriedly and left the room once again. He came back minutes later with a glass of water in his hands. "Hai" he said as he handed me the cup. I smiled as a gesture of thanks and eagerly gulped the refreshing liquid down my parched throat. At last I lowered my glass, and placed it on the table beside the bed.

"How are you feeling?" Hei asked. I smiled again and nodded, indicating that I was fine.

Then something unexpected happened. Hei perched himself on the bed and took my limp figure in his arms. I felt rigid, somewhat awkward to be in his embrace. Slowly, I moved my hands to his back while he said "Ying, I was so worried. I thought I might lose someone important again." His words struck me like lightning. Is he seeing me as Bai? Or does Hei care for me, Ying?

We let go of each other as my stomach rumbled, I looked away, trying to hide my embarrassment. But Hei only chuckled and pat me on the head. "Hungry are you? Should we get something to eat?" I nodded vigorously and twirled my finger in the air.

"Is that pasta?" Hei asked and I nodded again.

Hei laughed again and moved out the door. As soon as he was out the door, I tried to scramble up from the bed in attempt to grab the knife in the drawer, but the wound on my stomach burned again and I sat back down on the bed. Cursing, I materialized Kuro Sakura and cut my wrist with difficulty since it was so big. It was quite surprising really, I thought as I started my remuneration, that I hadn't disappeared yet after so long of not completing my contract.

I tried again, this time with the speed of a turtle, I managed to get on my feet and moved towards the door with equal difficulty. Step by step, I made it towards the kitchen where Hei was busy tinkering with lunch or dinner, I couldn't tell. I've completely lost track of the time. I propped myself down on the floor and waited. Minutes later, Hei joined me with two plates of pasta all neatly laid out. I took it from him eagerly and started shoving them in my mouth. Hei did the same, and we were like people who had been starving for at least a week.

A small scratch, and a little thump. I turned to see Mao approaching us from the open window. "So you seem to be recovering pretty well." Mao said as he sat himself down in front of Hei and me. I nodded and patted him on the head only to be greeted by a irritated "Meow".

Mao continued "The syndicate's not really happy with this, they expect you to be more carefully. If you leave blood at the scene, they could take if for DNA and check who you are."

I nodded, hanging my head slightly.

"Well, they are happy that the traitor is dead, thanks to Hei. For now, Hei you are to complete missions on your own until Ying is able to move. The next one is tomorrow night. You are to infiltrate a manor and take a pendant that the syndicate wants. Kill everyone if necessary."

xxx Deep into the night...xxxxxx

I lay in bed, staring at the moon hanging outside in the dark sky. Yin had come around to change my bandages, the wounds looked pretty much healed, at least I think I can almost talk. I sighed, it would be some time before I am able to move around without being fussed about. When can I rejoin the battlefield? What do I do when Hei's out on a mission?

I don't want to be alone. Darkness, be my friend.

Hei sat on his bed, lost in thought. This time it was too close, he couldn't afford to let it happen again. Hei knew that Ying had the power to protect herself but in situations like the last mission, he would need to fight for her by all means.

I don't want to be alone. Ying, don't leave me.
