Your Star
When Crowley walked into the apartment with silent Nerilla behind him, Nikolai was sitting in a chair by the bed, one leg crossed over the other while reading one of Clara's books. He looked up and grinned mischievously.
"How is she?" Crowley asked and approached briskly, sitting on the edge of the bed and tenderly stroking her cheek, ignoring any reason why Nikolai would be grinning like a complete fool. Ginger lifted up her head and let out a soft growl at Crowley. He grinned and scratched her head. As if satisfied, she laid her head back down.
"Exhausted, but resting after a bedtime story." Nikolai replied and Crowley lifted his eyes up to him as if he didn't quite like the sound of that. "How did it go?" he asked, losing any mischief he had, while Crowley remained silent for a few seconds.
"We'll transfer Viviane Cromwell's soul to Heaven in exchanged for one of Anne's spells." He said and kept his eyes on Clara as she slept. "We finalize the deal soon." He added and fixed Nikolai's jacket on Clara, then stroked her hair. Nikolai tried not to smirk, but he had never seen this side of Crowley and it didn't seem natural. It was quite amusing.
"The Winchesters?" he asked and then his King glanced at him.
"They're not invited." Crowley replied and glanced over his shoulder. Nerilla approached and stood by. Nikolai raised an eyebrow, but she ignored him. He had never seen her so silent and compliant. "If they do manage to show their faces, you can take care of them." he added and she nodded. Then she continued to remain silent. Very unlike Nerilla.
Only after did she notice how Nikolai was staring at her. Then she frowned which made him grin. He understood: she got chewed out from their King. Ouch.
Crowley placed a hand on Clara's stomach and felt his daughter stirring inside, beginning to wake up after sensing her father. Then, Clara began to stir and when Crowley removed his hand, her eyes fluttered open.
"Darling," Crowley said, in a tone of voice neither Nikolai nor Nerilla ever heard before. "I didn't mean to wake you." He whispered, as if hoping the demons in the room didn't hear him apologizing.
When Clara tried to sit up, he tried to encourage her to lie back down. Then, her eyes snapped open with anger brewing and she smacked his hand away. However, Crowley didn't react. Her Hellhound watched while remaining completely still.
"I rested." She said with a sharp tone.
"Not enough." Crowley said softly and she shot him a cold glare. "I woke you." He said, virtually sounding guilty. When she was in a sitting position, she rubbed her stomach and softened her eyes.
"Our daughter woke me. And I can't sleep much anyway." She replied and glanced at Nerilla and Nikolai. "So, someone update me." she added and before either demon could answer, Crowley gave a quick grunt and beat them to it, as if put off that they would dare answer when it was his place to do so.
"I've spoken with Anne and we are prepared to transfer her mother's soul to Heaven once she performs a spell for you." He said and remained silent watching her as if to see if that pleased her.
"A spell for my pain?" she asked and his lips twitched as if he was about to grin. He could see that she didn't quite have all the details required to understand just how incredible was this plan, but as always, she didn't focus on the missing details. "You realize that it might not help." She added, then Crowley grinned.
"Quite a pessimistic thought, Darling." He said and it was her turn to grin.
"Have you figured out something about my mother?" she asked and lowered her eyes to her stomach as she continued to rub.
"Other than she's a miserable hag?" Crowley asked, making her chuckle softly. "Something more important occurred." He added and she lifted up her eyes to him. "The only thing I got from my previous visit was the confirmation that she suffered while pregnant with you." He concluded and then, after a few seconds, she locked gazes with him, a thought brewing in her mind. "Think she might have something more to share?" he asked her, curious as to what she was thinking.
"There might be a lot she never told me." she replied and then gave a soft grin.
"I can't imagine as to what that can be." Crowley said and Clara grinned darkly at him, her eyes shimmering with amusement. At that moment, she closed the gap and kissed him passionately. When she pulled away, there was mischief in her eyes.
"If she can't offer me information, then I'll torture her the best way I know how." She said and Crowley grinned in approval.
