All I Want
When they got back, Crowley wasn't impressed and it showed. He had difficulties calming his rage and he could longer hold onto it. Clara sat down in a chair near their bed and placed a hand over her stomach as Ginger appeared and sat at her feet.
"I can't believe you burnt the transfer!" he snapped in a deep voice. It was probably the closest to a roar he could manage. However, Clara rubbed her stomach and watched him, not hurt or angry, just tired. Although, she found it odd how his temper tantrum was like a lullaby to their daughter.
Clara could say something, but she just felt like sitting there and watching him. If he wanted to waste his energy in a fit, then let him. The worst she could do to him is reply calmly and then climb into bed. She knew that would make him feel guilty.
"Do you have any idea how long I spent on that damned transfer?" he asked her and rage burned in his eyes as she remained silent, watching him with a blank expression. "And you go and resurrect Viviane Cromwell?" he snapped again and when he clenched his jaw, she could see he was ready to kill, but of course, not her. "We're lucky the demons didn't find out that Zephyr screwed them, but they'll hear you resurrected a soul out of the goodness of your heart and what will they do?" he added and his eyes were full of fury.
"You done?" she asked him as calmly as she had intended. When he remained silent, she stood up, her hand still on her stomach, and walked over to the bed, slipping out of her shoes. Ginger got up and then laid on the floor near the bed and watched her owner.
He shifted from one foot to another and didn't seem to know what to do with his hands as his Queen was undressing and getting ready for bed. When she was ready and fighting with the sheets, he appeared behind her and pulled them back for her. He helped her into bed and when she was comfortable, tucked her into bed and sat on the edge, looking down at her with a simmering rage in his eyes.
"Please tell me it was the hormones." He said more smoothly and she grinned up at him as she laid her head down on her pillow.
"And if I were to say that Anne had the mother I had wished for and I felt that someone so lucky should not be punished, what would you say?" she asked and after a couple of seconds, she smiled as the rage vanished from his eyes. He stroked her cheek and leaned over to kiss her head. When he pulled back, her eyes were closed and he could sense that his daughter was also falling asleep. How could he stay angry at his lovely Queen? He wasn't thrilled, but he couldn't stay enraged.
He quietly left the room and made his way to the office, where he was sure Nikolai and Nerilla were waiting. Once he opened the door to the office and stepped in, sure enough: they were standing there, looking at him with proud grins.
He closed the door and walked over to his desk, sitting in his chair and watching them intensely.
"So, not only were the Winchesters there, but Castiel and some angels." Nikolai said and Crowley narrowed his eyes. He had sensed it, but to hear it brought back his rage. "They picked it up on their Celestial Radar." He added and Crowley sat back in his chair and lowered his eyes to his desk, clenching his jaw.
"They don't have the power to do a single thing." Nerilla said, sounding more like herself and when Crowley looked up at her, she looked like herself too. "Two Cambions and the Mark of Cain are indestructible." She added and Crowley's lips twitched as if he was fighting a grin.
"But I won't take that risk." He replied and both demons watched him, as if waiting to hear what he had going on in his head. "My child is a great risk to them and if they ever have the chance to kill her, they will." He added and stared at the expression in Nikolai and Nerilla's eyes. He could tell that they would defend his daughter's life with their own.
"A plan to bring Heaven down, perhaps?" Nikolai asked and after a couple seconds of consideration, Crowley shook his head. "A genocide then?" he asked and Crowley shook his head with a slight grin.
"Just the usual, but far and beyond that: well placed lines of defense." He replied and both demons nodded their heads in agreement. "I want precautionary plans put in place so that Clara and our daughter are safe at all times, especially away from Home. I want the best and strongest demons put on the task, trustworthy demons, of course. You two are in full authority beneath me: I expect the utmost best." Crowley concluded, pointing a finger at them.
They nodded and Nikolai had a large grin on his lips.
"Your wish is my command." He said and both left the office, read to put in place those requested lines of defense for their Queen and soon to be Princess.
Crowley sat back in his chair and rubbed his face.
The angels had sensed that there was something brewing in Hell. Although they didn't know that Clara was pregnant, they were still onto them. If Clara made another appearance outside of Hell, the angels would waste no time in finding her and then they would know.
Then those lines of defense would have to stand strong. One Cambion long ago dependant on Lucifer's power was fine because he was eventually limited. Then, there was another Cambion far more powerful and, strangely, the angels didn't do anything. Then, Crowley takes her for his Queen and has a child with her. The angels will not stand back and do nothing twice in a row, especially now that she has embraced Hell.
Crowley got up and poured himself a glass of whiskey, feeling the need for that familiar amber liquid to burn his tongue and soothe his nerves.
