After dinner, Claire and Shane made their way back up to the room, Claire took her shower, then Shane and they crawled into the big, comfy bed together. She could hear Shane's soft snoring as he drifted off, but she stayed wide awake.
Claire slipped out of bed and out of the room, down into the lobby to grab a coffee. When she re-entered the room, she sat at the counter and sucked herself into her thoughts. This had to be carefully thought out and planned. If she went into it on a whim, things could go very wrong, and she was in it to fix it.
Shane would be mad enough if she made it out unharmed, let alone if he had to come visit her in the hospital again.
She knew she would have to get Alucard in on it. Claire suddenly got the idea to just go over and discuss it with him. Before she left, she made sure Shane was still sound asleep, and snuck out the door again. Across the hall, the door opened to reveal a curious Alucard, one eyebrow raised, "You've not been in your room much tonight, Ms. Danvers. Is everything alright?"
Claire nodded, "Let's talk."
Alucard sat opposite Claire at the kitchen counter in the magnificent hotel suite that very much mirrored her own. He nodded in agreement as they worked out how to prosecute their plan and decided they had to leave as soon as possible.
Claire nodded solemnly at the statement and quietly made her way back to her suite. Shane was still dead asleep as she silently packed her things, found a paper and pencil, and began writing:
Shane,
I am so sorry, you don't know how much, but I couldn't sit and let this happen. If you choose to forgive me after this, I promise I will make it up to you in any way I can. Stay in the hotel, this plan was carefully calculated and you MUST stay here for it to work.
I love you so much. I have to do this. For us. For Eve and Michael.
Please don't hate me.

With one last look at Shane's peaceful face, she picked up her suitcase, and left.
I warned you it would be short! So there you have it. Claire is totally going to sabotage Amelie's plan with one of her own guards! Wonder how that's going to go down. You think Shane will stay? Look forward to next week!
