Daiske sat back and sighed. "…It's not entirely a legend… It's an event from my childhood…" He sighed weakly. "When I was born the water in this land was calm and peaceful. We had contact with those on the different islands…. But one day, when I was 7… My brother and I were on a boat with my father. As we were traveling home there was a bright white light up in the sky.
As we looked up we watched a small object float down. It was a white feather with strange pink markings on it…. It drifted down and landed on the water. Instantly the water became stormy." He looked down sadly. "The boat was tossed… The next thing I knew I woke up on this island. My father and brother were gone…. Claimed by the river… or pulled to another island. I still don't know. Since that day the water has been in turmoil and never calms."
"How horrible." Sakura whispered.
Daiske sighed. "It's part of life."
Mokona popped up. "Why don't you just travel by boat over to the other islands?"
"Because the boats are instantly destroyed when you get to the middle of the river, there is no way across"
"Oh no! Syoaran what if they are on another island?!"
Syoaran frowned. "It doesn't matter. We'll find them, and the feather."
Daiske frowned. "Are you sure that is a good idea?... I've never known anyone to survive a trip."
"We'll be fine." Syoaran nodded. "The feather you saw is what we are after. We've been looking for them."
"Them?! There are more than the one!"
"Yes. But there is only the one here." Mokona said. "I can feel them."
Daiske sighed in relief. "If you plan to take that monstrous feather then I will do what I can to help you."
"Thank you." Syoaran nodded.
"So this feather…. Do you know where it is?" Kai asked Daiki.
"No… My brother… If he was here could help. I had been taking a nap when the feather arrived."
"Hmmm….." Kurogane frowned. "Kai tell him we need a boat!"
Kai sighed. "Umm…. Daiki… Can you get us a boat."
Kurogane grumbled at Kai's gentle tone.
"Why would you need a boat. It's stupid to try getting across that water. You can tell your friend that word for word." He glared at Kurogane.
Kai sighed. "I know it sounds stupid to you, but it is necessary for us."
Kurogane flinched as Daiki frowned. "I have no problem with the idiot going and getting himself killed. But I wont let you go with him. I cant watch a sweet girl like you be killed by his stupidity!" He stood up as if to grab Kai's arm.
Kurogane blocked any chance of that with his sword. "Kai let him know to keep his hands to himself!"
Daiki frowned. "Tell your friend to put his sword away!"
Kai moaned, but was rescued by Fye pulling her close. "Kai… Please translate for me…. We understand this will be dangerous. But we have our friends who are in danger and will try. We are stronger and will be fine. We have been in worse situations before."
Kai repeated and watched Daiki's frown turn to a scowl. "I don't like it. Can't they go without you?!"
"No." Kai answered for herself. "The two of them will need to be able to communicate while traveling. I'm the only one here who can do it. And don't worry about me. I'm strong and can handle myself." She smiled calmly. "A boat would be appreciated, but if you cant supply us with one then we'll figure something else."
Fye smiled standing up, after letting Kai up. "Thank them for their help and bid them farewell."
Kai nodded. "Fye says thank you and goodbye."
Daiki stepped forward. "Kai…." He sighed. "I'm coming with you."
The other men around froze. "DAIKI!"
"I would never be able to live with myself if I let them go alone." He smiled at Kai. "I'll go get a boat ready."
"Kai what's going on?! What's that jerk saying?!" Kurogane growled grabbing her arm protectively.
Kai sighed. "DAIKI is going to get us a boat. And he is coming with us." She glared at Kurogane daring him to say something mean about Daiki.
He grumbled under his breath. "Fine, lets go."
She smiled. "Okay. Come on Fye."
"Of course Princess."
Kai laughed as he kissed her hand. "You idiot."
He smiled following Daiki towards the exit.
