The song here is "Come Undone" by My Darkest Days
Come Undone
Crowley told her exactly what Gabriel told him, especially about there being a way in only known to him, which evidently bothered him just as much as it did her. They sent the Hellhounds to trace back his trail to that back door and it seemed every now and then that Juliet and Ginger lost his scent, but they soon found it again.
Eventually, they ended up in an undeveloped part of Hell, far away from the souls, the cells and the Hellhounds. Clara looked at Crowley with a frown and he looked at her blankly.
"I was saving this for our own tavern. I was going to call it 'Crowley's: Fine whiskey, great deals.'" He said and when she raised an eyebrow he placed his hands in his pockets. "The slogan was going to be 'One Hell'uva place to stay'." He added and she rolled her eyes and sighed, staring at the dead end that was apparently the back door. However, she failed to see how an angel could get in though such stone.
"Fix this, Crowley." she said coldly and she stepped back, watching him step up and stare at the wall of stone. Just as she was about to snap at him, staring at a stupid wall, he placed his hand on the rock and pressed down hard, cutting his palm. He grunted and with his other hand, began drawing a sigil with his own blood.
She tilted her head and wondered what sigil it was. She didn't know much about sigils, except for those she used to protect herself against angels and demons.
When he was done, he placed his bloody hand in the center of the sigil and it glowed dark red, and then it vanished as if it was never there. Crowley took out a handkerchief and wiped his hands clean as he turned towards Clara. He lifted his eyes up to her and gave her a dark grin.
"Fixed." He said and she crossed her arms over her chest, just staring at him. However he knew she was trying not to grin in return, but he said nothing. He looked up at Nikolai who was standing behind Clara and gave a slight frown. "About that line of defense…" he said and Nikolai nodded hesitantly.
"Yeah, wasn't very effective, was it?" he asked, but Crowley disregarded his question.
"Apparently, my demons are useless morons. So have the Hellhounds guard Hell instead." Crowley said and glanced down at Juliet and Ginger who looked up at him and growled softly as he scratched their heads.
"Ouch." Nikolai mumbled, knowing no demon was going to appreciate being replaced by a Hellhound. When Crowley looked up at him, he nodded, accepting the task. "Although, it's not going to be easy to gather some Hellhounds and train them into being guard dogs." He added.
"Nerilla will help, wherever she is." He said and there was a spark of annoyance in his eyes. Clara sighed and tapped her thigh, getting Ginger to turn her attention towards her.
"The Hellhounds must protect Hell, see to it that they do." she said and Ginger growled and tore off. Clara looked at Juliet and the large Hellhound simply trotted after Ginger. She looked at Crowley and had this sort of triumphant expression on her face, which made him grin.
Nikolai turned and followed the Hellhounds out, calling Nerilla out, telling her it was safe and that Crowley wasn't going to eat her. Crowley frowned, but placed his attention on his Queen.
"As for you and I, my dear," he said and he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him, until her stomach met his, forcing some distance between them. "We are going to the apartment and we're going to relax." He said and she let out a sharp laugh as if to say like Hell they were. He narrowed his eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled darkly.
"We can't relax. The angels –" she began, but he cut her off with a soft kiss that momentarily distracted her. When she pulled away, she glared playfully at him.
"When was the last time you rested?" he asked her and she sighed, knowing she couldn't win this time. He smiled and together they left the undeveloped part of Hell that Crowley claimed he was saving for his own tavern.
On their way back to the apartment, Crowley felt uneasy as there was something that was not yet settled. She no longer wanted to deliver Keara in a hospital. What had happened on her trip? So, he felt this was a good time to talk about it, that's if she was up for it.
"Why the change of mind on the hospital?" he asked her and she sighed, remaining silent for a couple of seconds. "You said something about an old flame." He added and she sighed again.
"A douche I dated years ago." she said and she sensed him stiffen slightly.
"You never mentioned that beforehand." He said and she glanced at him sharply, not appreciating his jealousy. "However, I'm sure he's a douche." He added and she rolled her eyes and looked away from him.
"We broke up because an angel took possession of him and wanted to kill me. He cast the bastard out and the next day, I broke his heart in hopes of getting rid of him." she said and she felt Crowley's eyes upon her, but he remained silent. "He was the doctor at the hospital in Switzerland and whatever. It doesn't matter." She said and Crowley continued being silent, only for a moment.
"There are other hospitals." He said and now it was her turn to remain silent. "However, I sense that is not the only thing troubling you." He added and she looked up at him, not understanding what he meant. He stared into her eyes so intensely and then she looked away, knowing he was right. There was something else.
"Most of my life, I've been more demon than human. Our daughter will probably be the same, but we're both half human and as you know, we have moments where we both experience that human side together.
"I can't control it like I used to because I can't control our daughter's human side. So, lately, like with Viviane Cromwell and my old boyfriend , I've been feeling more human and I feel like that's because Keara's feeling human; it's forcing me to feel the same whether I want to or not." She said and titled her head, then looked at Crowley with confusion on her face. "Does that make sense?"she asked him and he smiled softly, stroking her cheek.
"Of course." He said and she half grinned, thinking to herself he was probably lying.
"Well, I think I can understand how my mother felt." She said and he frowned at her, as if it was his turn to be confused. "She was pregnant with a Cambion. If my demonic side was taking over, maybe it had an effect on her.
"Maybe that's why she hated me, because I forced her to feel such darkness; darkness that humans don't and can't feel until their soul has been stripped and tortured." She said and Crowley's frown slowly receded as if he understood and believed her theory to be correct.
When his eyes met hers, he smiled softly and a bit of darkness rose into his eyes.
"I probably shouldn't say this out loud, but Darling, being human is nothing to be ashamed of." He said and she arched an eyebrow at him. Was he referring to his human blood addiction that took place a while ago? "We were all human once." He added and he kissed her forehead as she thought his word of wisdom over.
Unlike him, she can't shake off her human half.
