Uh... Hello? I'm really not sure if anyone is still wanting to see this story. Its been a long while for me. Life has been... different. Anyway, I had a nice talk with Killa7 that brought some of the passion for this story back. AppleDash really isn't my OTP anymore, but I still have feelings for this story. I'm relearning everything about it and my writing style, but I'm going to take a stab at finishing it. Bare with me.

Here we go.

Rainbow was awoken to the sharp stream of sunlight fluttering in through the slanted blinds. Her head was pounding severely and her body was aching, but it did not keep from her attempting to turn away from the light. She rolled over and pushed her body against that of another, smiling faintly at the feel of naked skin.

Even the smog clouding her mind from a night of drinking too much could not keep Rainbow's eyes from snapping open, and she was greeted with the sight of her worst nightmare. Spitfire was lying next to her, back to her, and missing clothing from every inch of her skin that the blanket around her waist wasn't covering. This realization had Rainbow flying into a seated position, an action that she later regretted. Her head was throbbing.

Furthermore, as she glanced down to examine her own body she suddenly started to feel a wave of nausea hit her. Not only could she assume that Spitfire was naked, but she noticed that her own body was bare except for her panties. And to top everything off, she could not remember anything past trying to out drink Soarin from the night before.

There was a rustle of sheets and Spitfire moved. Rainbow could tell that she had turned over to face her from the corner of her eye, but she had to force herself to suck in a deep breath before looking at her newly found lover. As expected, golden eyes were staring at her through a haze of sleep. "Hey, what are you doing up?"

"I just couldn't sleep," she lied, clenching the blanket to her naked figure. Normally she was not shy about showing off her body, but she suddenly felt self-conscious being in bed with someone she did not even remember going home with. Rapidly drinking as much as she did was looking like a very stupid idea.

Spitfire smiled and propped herself up on one elbow, allowing her chin to rest in the palm of her hand. "Do you remember anything from last night?"

"Not really, no. I remember drinking with Soarin and then everything gets a little messed up. I remember breaking something, but I can't think of what it was."

"You didn't break anything, I did. I threw everything off the table by the door to shove you on it. I must say, you're a hot little thing, y'know."

Rainbow had to force the bile to stay in her stomach because the confirmation of sleeping together was making her stomach do flips. She was never against sleeping with multiple partners, but taking Spitfire up on the chance so soon was making her look a little cheap. Applejack was still on her mind half of the time, and yet she so easy climbed into bed with another. "So then we slept together?"

"Yes, we did," Spitfire replied, letting a smirk tug on the corner of her lips. "And you were very good at it too."

All Rainbow could do was nod. There were not words to explain how she felt. Even though she was not with Applejack anymore, it still felt like she was cheating. The realizations that the other girl was clearly hurting from her words made Spitfire continue, "When I say we slept together, I really mean just that."

Frowning, Rainbow gave a slight glare and responded, "I know what sleeping together means Spit."

"For some reason I think you are assuming we had sex, but we didn't."

"We didn't?"

"No, we didn't. Trust me, I had every intention too, but you had other plans," Spitfire smirked and sat up, placing a kiss on Rainbow's cheek. Then she stood up, stretching her arms far above her head and revealing that she was not completely naked either.

"Alright, so if we didn't have sex, what did we do? Why am I naked?" Rainbow questioned, feeling the relief wash over her. She finally allowed herself to take a deep, calming breath.

Spitfire laughed as she grabbed a shirt from her closet, holding it up to notice that it was Soarin's. With a mere shrug to her shoulders, she pulled the shirt on with ease. It was slightly too big for her frame, but the fact went unnoticed as she turned back toward the bed and placed her hands on her hips. "Never in my life have I allowed a girl to do what you did to me last night, alright? If you were anyone else I would have pushed you out on the street."

Curious as ever, Rainbow asked, "And what was that exactly?"

"Dash, you threw up all over me. And the carpet. And yourself."

Rainbow had never looked so mortified in her entire life and she could feel her face heat up. "Are you kidding me right now? This would not be a funny joke."

Spitfire laughed, "Sweetheart I wish I was, honestly. It was pretty disgusting, but nothing compared to some of the things I've seen from Soarin."

"Oh my god," Rainbow trailed off, shoving her face into her hands. She knew that she was over drinking the night before and could feel the buzz early on, but Applejack had made her so mad that she decided to ignore her better judgment. And on top of it all, she threw up all over her new girlfriend and her condo. Their relationship was already starting out great. "I'm so sorry Spit. I don't remember anything at all."

Flipping her hand aimlessly, Spitfire began wondering the bedroom for clothes. "Don't worry about it. You'll just have to make it up to me. Preferably when you're a little less drunk," She paused to dig through the dresser, found what she needed, and turned around. "We have about an hour and a half before we need to leave for class. You might want to shower after such a crazy night. Bathroom's through there, towels are under the sink."

Still embarrassed, Rainbow nodded. She did not raise her gaze to meet Spitfire. Finding it utterly adorable, Spitfire made the first move by approaching her and lifting her head to force her to look into her eyes. "Dash, it's really not a big deal. Get your ass up and get ready." She placed a kiss on the girl's cheek and released her. "I'm going to wake up Soarin, that is, if he even came home."

Although she was still humiliated, Rainbow did not miss the intention drowning in Spitfire's words. Soarin had been with Applejack for most of the night, and if he never returned home, it was more than likely that he was still with her. Even worse, he could have brought her home with him. The mere thought made Rainbow glad her stomach was empty because she suddenly felt the need to throw up again.

Spitfire paid no attention and left the room, crossing the hallway to find Soarin's bedroom door closed. She knocked out of courtesy for another woman being in his bed, but threw the door open seconds later. It was probably the first time she had ever considered knocking to begin with. To her surprise, Soarin was alone and half dressed, lying sprawled across the bed with his head toward the foot-board. She assumed he had trouble coming in the night before.

"Soarin, get up," Spitfire called, walking over to the large window and opening the curtains wide. There was a mumbled and the shifting of fabric, and when she had turned back around, Soarin was trying to crawl his way back into sleep. "Soarin! Get up!"

The second yell was enough to awake, allowing the man to peek open an eye at his best friend. "Jesus Spitfire, what the hell are you being so loud about? I'm trying to sleep."

"Obviously I am quite aware of that. You need to get up. You miss first period again and you can kiss the championships goodbye," she explained, tapping the man on the head lightly. "Come on, get up. You're teacher seriously informed me she will put a hold on your athletic status if you miss again."

"Ugh, god dammit," Soarin moaned, but pushed himself up and off of the bed, "I fucking hate that woman!"

Spitfire smiled and shrugged, starting back to her own bedroom. "Oh and please try to be a little respectful today, I have company over."

"Oh, Spitty," Soarin whispered, suddenly looking curious. He hurried over to his bedroom door just in time for Spitfire to stop outside of it, glancing around her to look into her room. The shower started and Soarin gasped, "Is that Dash? You got her to come home with you? You guys wrecked the living room last night, didn't you? Shit!"

"Yes, yes, and yes. Things got a little crazy last night. You saw how drunk she was. I was surprised that she didn't face plant it at the party."

"I know she was trashed. I thought that was the plan? So, what happened? Tell me!"

Spitfire rolled her eyes, "You sound like a girl, y'know. Are you sure we didn't trade bodies or something?"

Scoffing, Soarin threw the insult out the window. "Did you sleep with her or not?"

"Yes, technically," Spitfire said, but the minute she saw Soarin raise an eye brow she continued, "Alright so no. I got to like second base and then things got a little messy."

"Got a little messy…?" Soarin drawled out.

Grimacing, she explained, "She threw up everywhere. We got her a little too drunk."

"Oh," Soarin said, his face scrunching in a look of displeasure. "That's disgusting."

Shaking the displeasing thought from her head, Spitfire shrugged. "Yeah, but it happened. We'll talk about it more later. Just go get dressed." She waved him off and reentered her own room, leaving the door open. It didn't surprise her when Soarin followed right behind her.

"No, she's in the shower and can't hear us anyway. I need to talk to you about Applejack," Soarin informed, watching his every move to make sure he didn't end up in invisible vomit from the night before. Spitfire merely glared at him, earning a simple shrug of his shoulders and a sheepish side grin, "Can't be too careful."

"Hm, I'm sure. I already took care of the cleanup alright? What the hell do you want to talk about?"

She turned her back on the other, taking a seat at her wide vanity that took up almost half of one wall. Make-up was pulled from the drawers and she began the task of perfecting her features, choosing to use brown and black shades to create a smoky eye. Soarin strolled up behind her, leaning over to pick through the colors he thought were best. They always had a strange co-dependent relationship, although they were no longer romantically involved.

"After you left last night, Applejack sort of pushed her way on me. And don't get me wrong or anything because she is defiantly the kind of girl I'd like to bring home and all, but I couldn't do it Spit. Are you sure we should be doing this?"

In the middle of applying eye liner to her top lash line, Spitfire paused to look at Soarin through the mirror. Their eyes met, and Soarin knew the answer to his question before the words even left her mouth. He should have never brought it up to begin with.

"I've been the one to sit on the side lines. I trained her, I told her she could be great, and I made sure she had a spot on the team when that time came. Why don't I deserve to have her? Applejack has done nothing but regret being with her since day one. Why should she deserve to have her at all?" The emotions were enough to make her glance away, dropping her eye liner pencil on the table. She shoved some of the make-up away in frustration and sat back to stare at herself in the mirror.

Soarin regretted his words and added, "You're right Spit. You do deserve her and I'll always have your back. Nothing will ever change that." He leaned down and kissed her cheek, catching her gaze in the mirror again.

With unspoken words being said, Soarin smiled and left to his own room. It was conveniently around the same moment the shower cut off. Spitfire sighed and started to finish her make-up before Dash came walking out and found her in such a messy state. The bathroom door opened just as she was finishing the last touches, and Rainbow calmly walked out with only a towel wrapped around her.

"Hey," she drawled, suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable as Spitfire turned toward her, crossing her legs delicately and giving her best sly smile.

"Hello," Spitfire replied, finding the entire situation utterly amusing. "I suppose you need something to wear, don't you?"

Although slightly intimated, Rainbow tried to not let it show and added, "It obviously looks like that, doesn't it?"

"Feisty. I always enjoyed that about you," Spitfire commented offhandedly, and stood from her seat. She wandered over to the closet and disappeared inside. There was quite a bit of shuffling and minutes ticked by before Spitfire reappeared, clad in khaki colored capris and a yellow V-neck that was tucked in and complete with a small, blue belt around the waist. There was a brown over shirt and a scarf tucked under her left arm as she hooked a matching blue watch around her wrist. "The closet is all yours sweetheart. I took the liberty of taking something out and hanging it on the door."

Grinning, Spitfire pulled on the over-shirt and started for the door, "Remember, the championships are coming up so you should probably show you school pride." She left without looking back, leaving Rainbow completely alone.

Finding the prospect of some clothing better than nothing, Rainbow entered the walk-in closet and was immediately amazed at how long it was. Spitfire owned enough clothing and accessories to open a store. However, what really caught her attention was the outfit hanging on the door. It was obviously a joke because there was no way in hell that she was leaving the house clad in some skimpy cheer-leading outfit. Immediately she wondered which girl Spitfire brought home left it here.

Deciding that she would pick out her own clothing, Rainbow wandered the closet in search of something that was suitable to her tastes, but also in support of their team. It was difficult to find anything she liked with Spitfire's eccentric taste written all over the apparel, but she managed to find a pair of gray capris and a light yellow tank top. She completed the outfit with a brown, short sleeved athletic jacket that she zipped up half way. Upon glancing in the mirror though, she realized that the clothing was slightly to big on her and meant to fit Spitfire's taller height.

Rainbow merely rolled her eyes and exited the closet, searching for a mirror to fix her hair. While at the vanity she also borrowed some of Spitfire's make-up products, noticing the need to fix a few imperfections. Although not completely satisfied with her appearance or her new outfit, Rainbow started downstairs. As expected, Spitfire was standing in the kitchen making a high-protein smoothie. Rainbow approached the center island and leaned up against the fine marble to wait for the blender to stop.

"Hey..."

Spitfire glanced in the direction of the voice and smiled, "Hey, you alright?"

"Yeah... just... sorry," Rainbow said, dropping her eyes to the counter.

"It's fine Dash, really," Spitfire reassured, pouring the smoothie she had been blending into three different cups. She picked up two of them and turned toward Rainbow, sliding one her way. "Here, this is just what you need. And don't think you're getting out of practice today."

Accepting the drink and the challenge, Rainbow smiled, "I wouldn't have dreamed off it. Just because I'm your girlfriend, doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you. You're still going down."

"Whoa, hopefully no one plans on going down right now, because I should not be here for that," Soarin spoke up as he entered the kitchen, obviously walking in during the wrong part of the sentence. He grinned, giving Rainbow a wink as he rounded the counter to retrieve his own smoothie cup. He downed a large drink and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Nice jacket Dash, looks oddly familiar," he paused and turned his gaze to Spitfire, "You feeling the need to claim property already?"

"I had nothing to do with it. She picked it out," Spitfire smirked, trying to hide it behind her glass.

Rainbow, however, just looked confused. Soarin laughed loudly, and motioned to his own back. "All of Spitfire's team clothing has her name and number custom stitched into the back. That just happens to be last year's fall jacket."

Realization dawned on Rainbow's face and she glanced over her left shoulder, tugging the material enough to catch a glimpse of the letter 'S' stitched into the fabric. She sighed, letting her arms drop to the counter again. She had already assumed that the day could not get any worse. "So basically I'm a walking billboard for Spitfire, right? Fine, I'll deal with that."

Spitfire polished off the rest of her drink and placed the cup in the sink. She calmly walked around the counter and snagged Rainbow's hand, for which she used to pull the other woman toward her and kissed her gently on the lips. Finding the situation too much for him, Soarin finished his own drink, made a sound of disgust, and exited the kitchen.

However, his departure went unnoticed. Rainbow figured that after the night she had given Spitfire, she could at least do some making up. Her hands tangled in fire colored hair and tugged the other closer, initiating a deeper kiss. She hadn't expected a 'no' for an answer and was not surprised when Spitfire shoved her spine against the island, nor was she surprised when a body was pressed up close. Their tongues tangled, and Spitfire slipped a hand up the back of Rainbow's shirt, only to dig her nails into flesh and drag them back down. Rainbow moaned, breaking the kiss. This only allowed Spitfire to nip at the delicate skin of her neck, leaving a few little marks behind.

The familiar action caused the afterthought of one blonde, tanned country girl to run through Rainbow's head. Her heart clenched painful, causing her arms to push Spitfire away from her. Their eyes met, one set filled with question and the other with guilt. Spitfire merely nodded in return and released any contact she had on the other.

"We should probably be going now anyway," she stated and turned to exit the kitchen. She wondered through the living room to grab her belongs, calling out to Soarin in the process. By the time she was done, Soarin came bolting down the stairs with his own bag. Rainbow merely slipped on her own shoes and waited by the door. All of her stuff was still in the back seat of Spitfire's vehicle.

They exited the house together and Soarin made a beeline for his truck. "I've got to run over to the parent's house today after practice. You wanna ride with me?"

Spitfire finished locking the front door and shrugged. "Sure, your moms been begging me to come over anyway. She wants me to go through her closet and figure out what isn't in fashion anymore."

Soarin rolled his eyes, "The woman goes to Paris almost once a month. You think she would be able to figure it out by now."

"Don't talk bad about your mother. She's a wonderful lady," Spitfire said, unlocking her own car so that her girlfriend could gather her belongings.

Soarin rolled his eyes and ducked into the cab, making sure to add his final thoughts, "You're only saying that because she loves you more than your own mother."

Once Rainbow had grabbed everything and Spitfire had relocked the door, they both walked over to Soarin's truck. Spitfire climbed in the passenger seat and Rainbow got in the back seat, sliding into the middle seat. Once everyone was situated, Soarin pulled out of the drive way.

"Do you not get along with your mother?" Rainbow asked out of the blue. She had known Spitfire for quite a while, but as she thought about their conversations, they had never really discussed parents. Rainbow had always assumed that Spitfire had a good relationship with her family, considering all the financial support she received.

"Ha, that bitch can take my father and fall off the side of the earth," Spitfire replied, turning her gaze to outside of the vehicle.

Soarin laughed, "Spitty and her parent's never really see eye-to-eye on things. It's better that they agree to disagree and leave it at that."

Rainbow nodded, and turned the conversation in a different direction. They discussed plans for the championships the rest of the way to the school, only making one pit stop at Starbucks for morning coffee. They exited the vehicle laughing, gathering everything they needed to start the day. Spitfire threw her arm over Rainbow's shoulders as they started to make their way to class. However, they were forced to stop when Soarin called out for them to wait up. Upon glancing, Rainbow realized that Applejack was walking behind them and Soarin was waiting for her. She slid her arm around Spitfire's waist for show.

"Mornin' everyone," Applejack greeted, earning a kiss from her boyfriend. He also placed his arm around her shoulders, drawing her near. The country girl blushed faintly, and Rainbow clenched her fist.

"Morning Applejack," Spitfire replied, giving her best fake smile. "I love that shirt. It's such a great color on you."

"Oh, this old thing? Gee, thanks Spitfire, but it's nothin' compared to yer clothin'," Applejack confessed, letting her eyes travel to meet her ex-girlfriend. Something seemed a bit off, and she had to give Rainbow a once over with her eyes. Immediately she recognized Spitfire's style and frowned.

Rainbow let a sly grin graze her lips, and thought of the prefect situation to handle her jealous anger. "Spitfire does have good taste, doesn't she?" she said, and then tug Spitfire to continue walking toward class. She finished the last glance at Applejack with a wink. Of course, she was quite aware of Spitfire's name and team number sprawled across her back, but at the moment she was set on making Applejack feel some of her pain.

Soarin could feel the girl next to his side tense and had to sigh. These girls were going to be the death of him. He simply plastered on a happy smile and tugged Applejack closer. "I think you look just as great, AJ. Come on, let's get to class."

Applejack swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded, allowing Soarin to lead the way. She felt sick to her stomach and her head was swimming with thought. If Rainbow was dressed in Spitfire's clothing then she had to have went home and spent the night as well. And if she spent the night after drinking as much as she did, Applejack was sure that they had done more than just sleep.

She took a deep breath. Rainbow was no longer her concern, but she still felt the lingering pain that something was wrong. Why couldn't she just make a decision and be one-hundred percent sure it was the right choice?

She had never felt so lost in her entire life before.

Classes had passed by uneventful, with only a small pause of awkward tension throughout English. Luckily the teacher had assigned individual work, and Applejack did not even have to glance in Rainbow's direction the entire class period. When the bell sounded, Rainbow was out of her seat and out the door before anyone even noticed.

Rarity walked with Applejack to the lunch area, talking about the color of the prom dress she made for Applejack and how Soarin would have to work around the idea. Applejack merely nodded and politely responded, but she was actually thinking about what had happened earlier that morning. Although she had been confused at first, as the day progressed she started to feel betrayed. She had broken up with Rainbow, yes, but she had not intended for her to suddenly jump into bed with another. Applejack frowned. She had tried the same thing with Soarin the night before, but at least he had the decency to turn her away. She tossed the thought from her mind. It wasn't something she should be concerned about anymore.

As they approached the lunch table, Applejack was surprised to see Rainbow sitting with their group. She had assumed the other would have ran off with Spitfire, something she would have been more comfortable with at the moment. Unfortunately, she took a seat on the opposite side of the table next to Rarity.

It was not long before Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie pie wondered to the table as well, each taking an open seat. Conveniently Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie stole the seats on either side of Rainbow, trying to show their moral support for a friend in need.

"Well now, why is everyone being so quiet today?" Rarity asked, pulling out her compact mirror and began to fix her already perfect make-up.

No one responded, and Rarity was forced to glance around the table at each of her friends. Twilight had her face pushed into a book and was blocking her sight from everyone, Applejack was staring at her hands on the table, and Pinkie Pie was twirling a single strand of her bright pink hair. The only person talking in a hushed voice was Fluttershy, who was whispering in Rainbow's ear. Rainbow did not seem to respond at all to her words.

Rarity frowned and opened her mouth to speak again, but was cut off as a Starbucks to-go cup was placed in her line of vision. She reached up and grasped the cup, and then glanced above her to see Soarin staring down.

"Still enjoy a non-fat vanilla latte, right?" he asked, smiling.

Surprise melted into a warm smile, and Rarity accepted the drink. "I am, thank you. It's been awhile darling, How's your mother doing?"

Soarin rounded the table and took a seat next to his girlfriend, giving her a warm smile as well. "She's been alright, but she won't shut up about you. Will you please come over and see her? She's leaving for Paris in a week."

The entire table looked confused at this time. Even Twilight had peeked over the top of her book to listen to the conversation. Applejack was the only one to voice her concerns, and asked "y'all know each other?"

Rarity waved her off, taking a sip from the cup given to her. She smiled, "Of course darling. Soarin's mother is one of my best customers. I would be delighted to come visit her. I will have to give her a call."

Catching part of the conversation, Spitfire decided to join the table as well, placing her warm hands on Rainbow's shoulders. "Why don't you just come over after school? Soarin and I are heading that way anyway," she stated, giving Soarin a knowing look. Although he was unaware of her plan at this point, he merely shrugged in response and gave her the okay to continue, "Actually, why don't you all come? Soarin's parents have an amazing pool. We could all… get to know each other."

"OH! Pool party!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, realizing too late that she was not supposed to be supporting Spitfire. She clamped a hand over her mouth, eyes wide. Fluttershy gave her a knowing smile, and nodded, allow the other girl to relax slightly.

"Actually I would love to work on my tan before prom, but would you mother really be okay with this?" Rarity questioned, turning her attention to Soarin. He merely shrugged, looking back to Spitfire. Spending the day by the pool did not sound like torture.

"I doubt she will care. Whatever Spitty wants, she gets."

Pleased with her best friend's choice of words, Spitfire nudged Rainbow Dash enough to get her to look up, placing a light kiss to her lips. She pulled back smiling, "You wanna come?"

Before she could answer, a slamming of a book caught everyone's attention. Twilight was rushing to grab her belongings and shove them into her bag. Her face was twisted in disgust. Out of all the things Rainbow was ready to handle, this was not one of them.

"Hunny, what are you doing?" Rarity asked, placing a gentle hand on Twilights shoulder. The girl stilled for a moment before shrugging it off and continuing her packing. She grabbed her bag and stood, turning to face Rainbow directly.

"I know you have heard what I think about this situation, and I am not okay with it. What you are going is disgusting and unnatural, and honestly, I'm having a hard time wondering why I was your friend in the first place. You were probably just trying to hook up with us all".

The table was completely silent for a moment, most of the people looking around for support. Twilight thought this to be a victory on her part and turned to walk off, but Pinkie Pie was the first to jump up in a challenge. She called to Twilight, who turned back around, ready for her defense, but she was stopped by an unusual sound. She glanced in the direction of Rainbow to find the girl hunched over the table laughing. Even Twilight looked surprised.

Spitfire began rubbing gentle circles along her girlfriend's spine, realizing that his conversation was not going to well. She glanced at Applejack, noticing the girls wide eye stare at her ex-girlfriend.

"Uh… Rainbow?" Someone called from the table, seriously worried that their friend was having a mental breakdown. The voice seemed to jolt Rainbow into looking up, immediately locking her stare with Twilight. She stood, pushing Spitfire lightly to get out of her seat and round the table. She stopped in front of Twilight; the entire table watching her questioningly.

"You can say all the mean and hurtful things you want to say Twilight, but we both know the truth. I have someone who loves me no matter what. Your words mean nothing to me. We both know how good of friends we were, and if you want to through that out, fine. But don't think for a second that because I'm a lesbian suddenly makes me want you. There is only one person I want," she declared, turning on her heel. She grabbed her bag from the table, and locked her fingers with Spitfire, making sure to give Fluttershy a quick glance in reassurance. "And frankly Twilight? Get over yourself. It's pathetic."

Locked with Spitfire, Rainbow tugged her in the direction of the art building, leaving Twilight behind like a fish out of water. The purple-haired girl composed herself eventually, and without a sound, turned to stalk in the other direction, her assistant in tow.

The rest of the table sat in awkward silence until Soarin cleared his throat, laughing meekly, "I guess that would be a no to the pool party then?"
