This is my version of how the great love story of James and Lily came to be. From the summer before their seventh year until their last breaths, their ups and down. This is their Love Story. 7. Chapter 7: Private Enemy 1

Chapter 7: Private Enemy #1

Severus Snape was pacing anxiously in his room. It had been four days and the Dark Lord had yet to summon him.

Four nights ago, Bellatrix and Rudolph Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy and Regulus Black had come to collect him.

"Snape, it's time. Let's go. We have a small window of opportunity and if you fail the Dark Lord will not show you mercy." Rudolph stated while holding out his arm to Severus.

As they were apparating, Severus thought to himself. "How is it that Black is already serving the Dark Lord. He is three years younger than me."

When they reappeared, Snape felt nauseous. He recognized this house. He knew who lived here. He now understood the look in Bellatrix's eyes the other night. She knew that this would really test him. Even though Bellatrix had been a few years ahead of him at Hogwarts, it was common knowledge that Snape had been infatuated with Lily Evans. Now he stood in front of her house preparing to kill her and her family. He only asked Merlin that she wasn't home. He didn't know if he would be able to do that. If he didn't do it, he would have to pay with his life, and he wasn't prepared to do that either.

They moved forward loudly into the house, alerting the Evans that someone was indeed there. Charles tried to fight as best as he could. Rose had been stunned and forced to watch as her husband was hit with curse after curse, until his mind couldn't take it anymore. Snape turned to face Rose, he could see it in her eyes that she had recognized him. Those eyes that were the same as Lily's. They did not plead with him. She had the same strength that ran through her daughter. He tortured her until she joined her husband. Once he forgot the fact that it was Lily's family, he did not regret much.

A sudden burn upon his Dark Mark brought Severus back from his memories.

"Finally" he thought. His master called him.

He apparated out and went to meet his Lord.
