Chapter 11: The Poem
"So what did you two find out so far," Merida asked.
"Nothing really," Hiccup responded as he looked through a stack of papers.
"Is that because you and Jack were too busy doing other things," Rapunzel giggled putting inferences on the word things.
Jack blushed and Hiccup couldn't help the smug grin that appeared on his face. When the girls had first arrived to the library they had caught the boy in an interesting position. Jack was straddling the dragon trainer's lap with his arms thrown over the other's shoulders and Hiccup's hands were clutching the winter spirit's waist. They were locked in a heavily passionate kiss.
"You guys aren't gonna let us live that down are you," Jack asked.
The two female spirits laughed as they spoke their heads no.
Hiccup rolled his eyes and cleared his throat gaining the others' attention. "Can we get back to work and try to sort through this mess," he said gesturing to the cluttered table before them. Over the very few hours they had been looking for clues and facts the small table had become a place for the books and articles they were able to find of the subject of the council, Seasonal Guardians, and the Omegas. As they got to work the disarray only grew. "I don't see anything wrong with the poem and Silver's journal isn't really helping us out much," Merida said still flipping throw the leather book.
Hiccup, who was reading articles on The Omegas, sighed. "These papers aren't much help either, there has to be something here that would explain this."
"Maybe if we write down the poem we could see something that might have missed," Rapunzel suggested.
Both the summer and the autumn spirit raised an eyebrow at the girl, but didn't question her. They all watched as Rapunzel quickly scribbled down the words and the color they were highlighted in.
"Some people just need to see things twice," she assured.
She looked at the sheet of paper for a minute before her eyes widen in realization. She looked at Jack and showed him the paper. "Have you seen these colors anywhere else," she asked.
The guardian of fun mirrored her expression.
Hiccup and Merida watched as the two had a silent exchange. Clearly wanting to know what was going on the fiery red head asked, "What the heck did you to find?"
Rapunzel opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off when the doors to the library slammed opened making those in the room jump. They looked over to see Aster at the door. "Mates its bad," he said, "The Omegas are in the Globe Room ready for a fight."
They didn't need any other reason to rush out of the room. They ran down the hallway with Aster falling close behind. Jack held Silver's journal tightly in one hand and his staff in the other. When they reached the Globe Room they joined Toothless, North, Sandy, and Tooth in fight stance. Before them stood Heat, Red, Feral, and Bone, the fire spirit wore a sinister smile, "Well you all ran off before we were able to finish our little fight."
"But now we're not playing any games," Bone laughed.
"We're gonna finish what we started," Red said.
"And chaos will spread around the world," Feral added.
Then they two groups of spirits charged.
