Author's note: Ahhh, okay! I managed to get this done before I go! I'm going to be camping with my friends for a while actually, so I won't be able to write… I know. It sucks. Anyways, the next chapter will finally be the end of the Ring Battle! Oh, by the way, can anyone guess who the "Snake" is or was that too vague? Bonus points for anyone who can get it?

I was timid as a child. I never spoke a word to anyone except Onii-chan, who was allowed to stay with me even back when we were still being tested on. But, I smiled at the kind of scary looking older man. He only looked scary though. In reality, he was a really kind and nice person. Onii-chan stood next to me and held the bread basket. The older man smiled and patted both of our heads affectionately. "Good job you two."

Onii-chan smiled and I tugged gently at the older man's sleeve. "Can we play now? Please?" I asked as I looked up at him innocently.

The man laughed. "Sure, I don't see why not."

I beamed at him. "Yay!" I smiled as the boss came over to check up on us.

Onii-chan walked over and talked to the boss for a bit and then the boss came over to me. "How are you doing?" he asked me.

"I'm good!" I replied happily. "Lancia-tan takes care of us well!" Lancia smiled a little.

The boss laughed heartily. "I'm glad." He patted me on the head. "You'll grow to be a very pretty young girl one day, Hisoka." I smiled at him innocently. I think that they were the first people other than Onii-chan who cared for me. But, they all disappeared eventually.

I smiled as people came into the bakery. It's only been a little over two years since that Family disappeared one day. I moved away with Onii-chan and started to help out at a bakery so we could eat something. "Welcome!" I greeted happily. They looked a bit surprised to see a nine-year-old working at a bakery, but eventually they smiled back at me.

The slightly chubby brunette woman with warm brown eyes came out from the kitchen. "How is everything out here Hiso-chan?" she asked kindly.

I smiled. "Fine!" I replied with a smile.

She laughed heartily. I liked it when she laughed, it was really wholehearted and warm somehow. It always seemed to make the room seem brighter. "That's my Hiso-chan," she praised.

When time came to move again, I pleaded to Onii-chan to spare her. I didn't want her to disappear too. He agreed a bit reluctantly, but he promised to leave her unharmed and he did just that.

A few years after that when we moved in the middle of the school-year and I was a first year in middle school, I went to middle school in Japan. I learned how to easily charm my way into and out of most things by then, but at that time, I didn't want to stick out more than I had to. I looked up innocently at the upperclassman that approached me. He looked pretty normal. There wasn't really anything particularly different about his appearance. Typical, I guess. "Are you the one that I'm supposed to tutor?" he asked.

"I guess so," I replied. "I'm sorry about this. It seems like I'm not doing too well with literature right now since I wasn't born here."

"You moved here from a different country?" he asked.

I nodded. "From Italy." He had a surprised expression. Somehow, it didn't seem to suit him though so I started to giggle. "Is it unobvious?" I asked.

"Something like that," he replied.

We became something like friends eventually, and I guess that he was my first friend because Ken and Chikusa were already like my family back then. He told me that he wanted to become a fashion designer one day. He was actually really good at it. So even when he didn't have to tutor me anymore, we continued to meet up so I could help him with his goal. I agreed to be the model for the portfolio that he was going to submit so he could get an internship. He got the internship in the end, and even though I moved again, we continued to stay in touch. Even now, he still sends me the clothes that he designs.

I didn't let him disappear either.

I wake up and I stare out the window as the morning sun streams through. I don't remember the last time I really thought back to my past, but I guess that I did this time because I was thinking about getting my message to the Snake for most of yesterday. I smile a little and get out of bed. I'm sure that everything will work out somehow. I pull my hair up into pigtails and change into the clothes that were sent to me last time. I write out a note to Hibari and put it next to the breakfast I make fore him before I leave the house to visit the hospital.

I smile a little as I listen to Gokudera explain everything that happened up until now to Lambo. "That was nice of you," I say when he finishes.

"Gahh!" he exclaims in surprise. I laugh a little. "What are you doing here?!"

"Kyoko and Haru heard that Lambo woke up, but they couldn't miss out on school, so I came in their place," I explain. I can bend the rules a little since Hibari will probably let me get away. Probably. I hope. I smile at Gokudera. "It's nice of you though; Checking on him."

Gokudera crosses his arms. "Tch." He looks angry at me.

"You still don't like Onii-chan and I, do you?" I ask.

"Of course not!" he exclaims. "Just be glad the Tenth trusts you," he grumbles.

I reply, "I am glad." His eyes widen in surprise. "I'm glad that I met all of you. I was glad that you guys accepted me when you first met me. There aren't too many people that I've met that are like that. The same must be for you too."

"H-How do you know that?" he asks.

"Tsuna-san was the first person to accept you, wasn't he?" I ask. "Tsuna-san wasn't the first person to accept me as I am, but it's rare for someone to do that for me. That's something precious to me," I say sincerely.

Suddenly Reborn's voice says, "You two do have a good side after all." The pot holding a flower turns around to reveal Reborn's face.

"Reborn-san! How long have you been there?" Gokudera shouts.

"Since the beginning," replies Reborn.

"F-From the start…" he mutters. He looks around and asks, "I-Is the Tenth here too?"
"Tsuna went to school today," Reborn explains. Gokudera lets out a relived sigh. "So, the story thus far has been of the Guardian's battles. The decisive battle to become Vongola the Tenth is a direct fight between Tsuna and Xanxus. It's going to become even fiercer in tonight's Sky Match." Suddenly, Reborn has a glint in his eye. "So… For the moment, I'm going to…"

"A-Are you going to do something?" asks Gokudera. He looks a little scared. Reborn starts to snore.

"He fell asleep?! You're just conserving energy!" shouts Gokudera.

I laugh. "I'm heading back home. There are some things I have to take care of," I say. "Take care." That's right. Everyone's fighting so hard because we all have our own precious things to protect.
