(Requested by TheAngelOnYourRight, where Harry sneaks into Hermione's dorm. Longish one, and I'm labeling it a spoiler just in case.
I'm sorry this is so late! I can't wait for this school year to finally end. More possibly coming today! )
"Everyone ready to go downstairs, then?" Lavender trilled, glancing around a the rest of the Gryffindor girls finished straightening their hair and smoothing the wrinkles out of their skirts and robes. yawning and stretching in the early morning light streaming in through the glass panes of the dormitory.
"Everyone except Hermione," Cecily Pritchett huffed, pointing a manicured nail at the only unopened canopy curtain in the room. "She hasn't stirred."
"That's odd," Parvati mumbled, "she's usually the first one up."
"Yeah." Lavender flounced over to the bed and tried to yank them open, but found her efforts repelled by a strong sticking charm. "What the- Hermione? Are you in there?"
There was a sharp twitch in the curtains and a hard thump, but no other sound, and the girls stared at each other strangely. "Hermione, are you alright?"
"My ears are buzzing!" Cecily wailed, plugging a finger in the offending organ and wiggling it around.
"Mine too!"
Lavender reached for the curtain again, but then Hermione's voice mumbled something that sounded like a spell, and there was a short yelp.
"It stopped," Cecily sighed, rubbing her ears.
Hermione's head poked out of the curtains suddenly, startling every girl. "Hello? Yes, er, morning!" she said, grinning tightly. Her hair was a rat's nest, and a sheen of sweat coated her face.
"Hermione, are you-"
"Oh yes, yes I'm- eep!" Everyone jumped as Hermione made a startled squeak, almost like someone had pinched her hard on the behind. Her shoulder darted behind herself and there was a sharp smack.
"One minute, please!" She disappeared once more, and there was rustling and scrambling before the canopy flew open again, and all their hair blew backwards as something like a gust of wind darted past.
"What the-?"
"Where were we?" Hermione gasped, reappearing for a second time, flushed and panting but dressed. "Are we all ready then?"
"We've been ready! Hermione, what is on with y-"
"SNAAAAKE!" Cecily shrieked suddenly, leaping onto a bed and aiming her wand at the floor. A streak of dark green raced away from her feet, and the other girls yelled and screamed.
"I don't see it!"
"Where, where?!"
"It looks like...!"
"There's no snake, you're all hallucinating!" Hermione laughed frantically, gathering her bag and making a beeline for the stairs before Lavender could finish her statement. "Shall we go down?"
The other girls stared after her in amazement.
"Do you think Hermione's acting... Odd?"
"No doubt," Lavender snapped, "she's been hanging around that Harry Potter a lot lately... I think his oddness is rubbing off on her."
(In case anyone is confused, Harry used his invisibility cloak to escape, but Morgana the snake got left behind, and Lavender almost recognized her LOLZ. The buzzing in the girl's ears was caused by Muffliato.)
