CHAPTER 11

Chad and Troy looked at each other and then back at Martha. "This is her house?"

Martha nodded, "Yes. I went to her when I needed to get away from him and she told me she had a place far away and she would hide me out. She was there with me when I gave birth as well."

Gabriella looked at the boys. "What are you guys thinking?"

Troy stopped for a moment. Lynn Matthews, Martha Montgomery and Gabriella…they were all Chelsea Barnes' patients. Dr. Barnes…

Troy went wide eyed and looked at Chad. "Chelsea Barnes knows Marshall."

Chad looked at him puzzled. "How would they know each other?"

"Barnes was all three of the girls' doctors. Lynn got pregnant and disappeared." At this point Troy was up and pacing. "She's the key to Marshall!"

"I'm confused." Gabriella confessed.

Chad dialed a number from his cell and a voice picked up. "Go for Kelsie." Chad smiled. Kelsie was their technical analyst.

"Kels, I need you to look into Chelsea Barnes and give me every single bit of information you can get on her." He heard her typing right away.

"Does Caine know you're doing this?" she asked referring to the Chief as she continued typing pulling up Chelsea Barnes' information.

Chad sighed, "No."

"I am not going down for your mess." She stated.

"Noted smart alec."

Kelsie laughed and pulled up files. "Okay, Chelsea Barnes is 37 years old, OB-GYN for the woman's medical center of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She owns a house in Edgewood, New Mexico and also owns one in Phoenix, Arizona. She has a condo in New York and in Orlando, Florida."

Chad rolled his eyes. "Alright she's a rich bitch, continue." Troy looked at Chad and Chad put Kelsie on speaker. "Kels you are on speaker. Troy is here and so are two friends."

"Hello my fellow friends." Kelsi spoke and continued her search. "Ms. Barnes's medical files are pretty bad. She was in a bad car accident in her late teens and it left her pretty scared."

"How bad?" Troy asked.

"She had to have a hysterectomy at age 19. The car that hit her, hit her side really bad and when they pulled her out of the car she was bleeding massively internally…"

Gabriella sighed. "Why would she become an OB-GYN if she knew she could never have kids? That would destroy my state of mind."

Troy nodded, "Kelsi see if there is a link to Chelsea Barnes and Henry Marshall."

Kelsi nodded; "Okay…" she trailed and continued typing. She wasn't coming up with anything until her last search came up. "Here we go…Chelsea Barnes was married at the age of 18 to a Henry Edwards Marshall…Oh shit. She was pregnant when that car accident occurred and it killed her baby. That's why she was bleeding so badly. It killed her baby and they told her she would never be able to give birth because of the scar tissue."

Chad had wide eyes. "What happened after the accident?"

Kelsi looked, "Chelsea ended up divorcing Henry a year later after the accident. She caught Marshall cheating on her and it messed her mentality up. She was in a rehab for awhile but then got out, got her life together and went back to school."

"What caused the car accident?"

"Marshall was the one driving the car."

"Thanks girl." Chad hung up the phone and smirked at Troy. "That's it. Chelsea wants revenge on Marshall. She feels like he owes her a child."

Martha sat there. "Chelsea has brought a little boy with her a few times…she told me he was hers…but I don't remember her ever being pregnant.."

"That's because it's Lynn Matthews baby."

Gabriella went wide eye. "They've been working together for awhile. Henry has a pattern! He gets in a relationship, ruffs them up, gets them pregnant and then let's Chelsea deal with them."

Martha was confused. "Why didn't she take my daughter?"

Troy sighed, "I don't know."

"We need to tell chief."

Troy nodded and looked at Gabriella. "Nothing will happen to you."

Gabriella was quiet. "I was pregnant by Henry, Troy."

The room was quiet. Chad and Martha sat there quietly while Troy stared at her. "When?"

"A couple weeks ago…but I had a miscarriage…Chelsea was angry when it happened…"

Troy looked around and then at Martha. "Pack a bag for you and your daughter. You're not safe here anymore…"

Chad looked at Troy. "Where are we going dude?"

"To the problem." He muttered and looked at Gabriella. "We're going to put Marshall and Barnes in their places once and for all."

Rose sat down in the living room and looked at all the photos in the room. Mostly of Gabriella…

It's been a day since anything had happened. Henry was sitting in jail cell waiting to get a court date and the hospital wasn't much help with missing body issue.

She knew Jo had left and went back home. He honestly didn't expect them to stay much due to the distance of Jo and Gabriella's relationship.

The school had told Rose to take as long as she needed and that Sharpay would be able to hand her class's just fine.

"Rosie?" she looked up at Keith as he walked in. It was five days before Christmas and she smiled at Keith's Christmas sweater.

"Hi Keith," she said to him.

He came and sat down next to her and saw her staring at the photos of Gabriella. He smiled and picked one up next him. It was a photo of him, Gabriella and Drew when she'd turned 15. They'd flown her out to Washington and they'd go sightseeing and she was so happy.

"I remember this day," he mumbled.

Rose smiled. "She came back from Spring Break happier than ever. She told me she had two awesome dads."

Keith's heart swelled. Two awesome dads. "She enjoyed herself…but she was texting Troy the entire time updating him on everything."

Rose laughed, "That sounds like Gabriella."

"Yeah it sure does…have you heard from Troy?" Keith asked. Now that he thought of his daughter's ex boyfriend, it angered him. "Where the hell is he? Doesn't he have the courteously to come out here and be with his family?"

Rose sighed and looked at her ex son in law. "Honey," she spoke and put her hand on his arm. Keith looked at her and his eyes were red and tears were about to spill out. "I bet you Troy is trying to gather information for this case and put that bastard away for life for what he has done to Gabriella."

Keith nodded, "Maybe you're right."

She sighed. She didn't know if she was right or wrong. She just hoped and prayed that Troy would call with information soon.

Chad stormed out of the house after Troy with Gabriella and Martha hot on his trails. "Troy! We can't go back right now."

Troy turned around. He rolled his long sleeve up and put his hands on his hips. "Yes we can." He looked at Gabriella. "I just want you to know I will get you free from any charges that may come upon you."

Gabriella sighed. She knew that she might get jail time for what she did. She committed an illegal crime and she had to face her responsibility.

Martha was stressing out. "I can't go back! I can't let him know about Ollie!"

Troy looked at her. "He already knows. Chelsea and him are working together. She gets what she needs from him and he does whatever he wants from you. Chelsea wants kids because Henry took that from her in the car wreck. I don't know why she didn't take your daughter…but we will find out."

Martha sighed. "Let me go pack us a bag." She spoke and ran off inside her home.

Gabriella looked at Troy. "I need to call my nana."

Chad shook his head. "I don't think that is a good idea."

"I have to call her. They need to know what Henry is up too."

Troy shook his head. "No, Chad is right. We have to stay low. I'm going to call the Chief and ask him what I should do."

Troy walked off and left Chad and Gabriella alone to talk while he called his boss. "This better be fucking good, Bolton. I have a lot of shit on my hands from you and Danforth taking off like a bat outta of hell."

Troy sighed, "There's a connection."

Sawyer Caine gruffled. "What is it? I've got a lot of shit. That Montez girl is going to be in a lot of trouble and I can smell the press getting a hold of this and turning it on you."

"Chief, Marshall has a partner. Lynn Matthews is alive somewhere."

"Who?"

Troy sighed and told Chief everything from the beginning again. After a few minutes Sawyer sighed. "Alright. You and Danforth head to New Mexico. Don't draw attention to Marshall. Let me handle that." And he hung up.

Troy walked over to Chad and Gabriella. "We're going to New Mexico."

There was a loud a banging coming from downstairs. Rose Darbus was lying in bed trying to get some kind of sleep…any sleep for that matter.

She noticed the clock read 3:23AM. Who could be knocking at her front door at this time of night? She slowly got out of bed and put her dark blue robe on and her white slippers. She opened her bedroom door and saw that her spare bedroom door was opening.

Drew and Keith poked their heads out. "It's alright, I'll get it." She whispered.

Keith looked at Rose with a worried brow, "You sure?"

She nodded, "Go back to bed." She walked past them and down the stairs to the foyer. The knocking continued and loudly at that.

"Hold your horses, I'm coming." She grunted.

She unlocked the first two locks and then turned the knob to the front door. She pulled the door open and she felt like all the air in her lungs was gone. "Gabi?"

"Hi nana."

And the world was black.
