The man with brown hair and green eyes named Kaliver was walking calmly through the dark tunnel. He felt spiritual energies around him and he started to follow one; but while he walked, he started to remember something about his past...
Flashback
- Kaliver Shadowheart, you will be the partner of the primordial experiment. - Says Magnus from his throne and his servant was before him, on his knees.
- As you wish, my lord. - He answers.
- Your mission is to teach her everything I thaught you, show her the truth hidden in the lies that she heard since she was born and prepare her to serve me.
- It will be done Magnus-sama.
Kaliver stands up and walks to a big white room, where a metal door was. He approaches it and puts his fingerprint on the panel. The door opens, but everything is dark, which was not a problem for him. His pupils dilate until his eyes are completely black and he starts to see everything clearly. He sees a child shrunken in the corner of the room and walks slowly towards her. She was crying and sobbing, but she becomes very silent when she hears footsteps.
- Kurosaki Hisana, I am Kaliver Shadowheart and from today on I will be you guard. Get up, the experiment number 2 is waiting for you.
- I will not say that again.
Hisana gets up and runs toward Kaliver. She slips from under his legs and runs to the exit.
- How stupid... - He took a device from his pocket and pressed one of the buttons.
Hisana is eletrocuted through a necklake. She screams and falls down.
- Girl, I am not in the mood. I have received orders to keep you alive, but only alive.
Kaliver grabs the girl and drags her to what he calls "experiment number two". Hisana could barely see the shadow of her new guard before she lost conscience.
End of Flashback
Kaliver realises the he arrived at his destination. The big metal gate in front of him starts to open slowly. The strong light that came from the other side of the gate made his pupils smaller, so he could see the two man who were waiting for him, with a smile but with eyes showing no expression.
- Get in, before they see you. - Urahara says, unpacient.
Kaliver gets in. The blond man leads him to a hidden room.
- The future? If this is a joke, it's not a funny one! - Ichigo says, irritated.
- It's not a joke. Of course I wasn't expecting you to believe me, but tell me something... - Hisana leans her body forward and says in a low tone - What did you think of those enemies that almost killed you a couple of hours ago?
The silence takes over the room. Urahara looks at his friends trying to understand why they are so quiet and Yoruichi starts to pay more attention to what they were saying. They look at each other and remember what happened hours before...
Urahara and Yoruichi are calmly talking somewhere in the store, when Ururu comes to them and says, so naturally, that it takes a moment for them to understand what she really was talking about.
- Kisuke-san, Yoruichi-san, we have unconscious guests at the door.
- Okay, Ururu, thank you. - Urahara answers.
Ururu leaves, walking towards the entrance again.
Yoruichi and Urahara look at each other, when they understood what she said.
- WHAT?! - They say, running over Ururu to get to the door.
- Kurosaki-kun! - Screams Urahara. Tessai comes running to see what was going on.
Yoruichi smells something different coming from behind the victims. She stretches her neck to see it.
- Don't worry, they just need to rest.- Says a voice from behind.
Hisana walks to the front of the door and looks at them.
Urahara and Yoruichi grab their weapons and prepare to defend themselves.
- Calm down, please! I am no one's enemy here! - She puts her hands up. - I just ask of you to let them rest here, they are very hurt.
- What happened to them? - Urahara asks worried. - And... Who are you?
- Urahara-san! - Tessai comes to them with Ururu and Jinta. - They were attacked by hollows. - Hisana says calmly.
- That's impossible. We did not feel them fighting hollows! - Uraha was very upset.
- And that's why you need to let me in, Urahara-san, because I have some things to explain to you. - She looks at her friends. - And them too.
- You think that we'll let you in without explanations? - insists Urahara.
- Yoruichi-san... - Says Hisana looking at the cat. - I know you have something to say, right?
- Cats don't speak, girl.
- But that's a especial cat, isn't she?
Yoruichi looks in Hisana's eyes and them looks at Ichigo, Rukia and the others lying on the ground, wounded.
- Let her in and help her carry them. - Yoruichi says, turning on her back and walking towards the living room.
Hisana was prepared to carry Sado.
- Don't touch him. - Says Yoruichi.
Hisana startles. - Follow me. -says the feline.
- Excuse me - Hisana greets everyone respectfully and follows Yoruichi inside the store.
Tessai, Ururu and Jinta take Ichigo, Rukia and the others to a room where they can rest. On the meanwhile, Yoruichi leads Hisana to the living room.
- Sit down and wait here. Don't try to make anything stupid, because, obviously, you know who we are, but you don't know what we're capable of. I hope you had nothing to do with those wounds in our friends, girl.
- I'm sorry, Yoruichi-san...
- I'll ask Tessai to bring you a cup of tea.
- Thank you.
As soon as Yoruichi leaves the room, Hisana looks around trying to recognize different details in that house and she laughs to herself when she sees a hidden camera.
- They can be more suspicious then me...
In the room where Ichigo and his friends were, Tessai, Ururu and Jinta were making everything necessary to make them comfortable and better.
- What do you think, Yoruichi-san? - Asks Urahara to Yoruichi, who sits next to him observing everyone's actions.
- I don't know what to say. She doesn't look like an enemy, because she saved them and brought them here, but what makes me uncomfortable about her is: how can she know who I am if I never saw her before, and also the story about hollows attacking our friends without our knowledge. No ordinary hollow could have done this to them, especially to Ichigo.
- You're right. - Urahara looks at a monitor screen beside him and watches what Hisana was doing. She drinks the tea Tessai brought for her and touched some objects of the room. - She said she has something to tell us, but we should wait until the others are awake, so we cannot misjudge her.
- Agreed.
Urahara and Yoruichi keeps watching Hisana through the monitor screen, waiting for the others to awake.
- So, what do you say? - Asks Hisana another time to the people in the living room, making Yoruichi and Urahara to come back to earth.
- Deep Hollows... - Remembers Ichigo. - They claimed themselves Deep Hollows.
- Exactly. - Answers Hisana.
- I remember that too, but what are Deep Hollows? - Asks Rukia.
- They're a new species of hollows. They come from where I come from. They are highly trained and powerful, and they will do anything to achieve their goals. - Answers Hisana, with a serious looks on her face.
- What? But, Hisa-san... What is our connection with them? Why did they want to kill us? Who sent them? - Inoue asks most of the questions that her friends wanted to ask.
- Because in the future you will be the biggest obstacle on their way to destroy the whole world. - Hisana explains.
- This is madness! I can't believe I'm hearing this! - Ichigo says, angry. He gets up.
- Calm down, Ichigo, sit and listen to what she has to say! - Says Rukia, holding his arm.
- But this is crap, Rukia! Future? That can't be possible! Do you really want to hear this?
- It's okay, Ichigo-san, I understand what you're feeling. - Says Hisana, taking a long break.
- Good, cause I'm out of here! Goodbye everyone! - Ichigo limps towards the door and when he is about to reach it, he hears Hisana's voice:
- It's too bad that you don't want to hear how you died... - She says, closing her eyes and lowering her head.
Everyone in the room looks at Hisana, startled.
Ichigo stops and turns to Hisana, in a cold sweat.
- Wha... What did you say?
In the hideout of the resistence of the worriers of the future, Kaiver and the young boy with yellow hair enter the room. Urahara comes right after them, and before anyone take a seat, he asks:
- It's been a long time Kaliver... What do you want this time?
- Of course, hollows were never welcomed here, and they will never be! - The boy says with energy.
Kaliver looks at him.
- What do you have against me, brat? Have you forgotten that if it wasn't for me, your stupid little girlfriend wouldn't be alive today?
- You mediocre, I will not let you say things like that about Hisana! - The boy says ready to attack Kaliver.
- That's enough, Shihouin Katsuya! The son of Urahara stops himself from cutting Kaliver's throat, who was staring the eyes of the child. He looks down at his own chest. Kaliver held two fingers, with black energy, pointed at his heart, ready to pierce it.
- Your father saved your life kid. Be thankful.
Katsuya puts his sword back in the sheath.
- He saved your life as well.
Kaliver ignores him and cleans the blood running in his neck.
- Katsuya, if you do anything like that again, you can leave. Kaliver, just say what you came here to say because you know you're not welcome here. - Urahara says, not in a good mood.
- I just came here to say that I was right when I told you that it would be stupid to send Hisana to the past to fix the present on her own. That made Magnus start to mobilize his best soldiers, and I have received an order which I cannot escape.
- What order? - Urahara asks worried.
- To kill Kurosaki Hisana.
Urahara and Katsuya almost scream in terror.
- My... Death...?- Ichigo looks at Hisana and she opens her eyes, with sadness. - I think that this is not a joke, right? - He says in a cold sweat.
- Unfortunately not... - Answers Hisana looking away.
- What happened to me? - Asks Ichigo, more interested in the conversation now.
- Sit down, Ichigo-san, I will not just tell you what happened to you, but what happened to all of you, and also, why I am here.
Ichigo sits back in his place, timid, but still suspicious.
- To kill Hisana! That's bullshit! - Kaliver says abruptally.
- Why would they give this order so suddenly to you? I thought you were just the guard who kept Hisana underarest, the chief of the elite guard of Magnus.
- Listen to yourself. We were the ones who most lived near her, we have more chances of tracking her down and finding her and we also know her techniques. Magnus already sent two of my servants to be exterminated by her. And... I believe he is already distrustful of my actions, so he ordered me to kill her now, and if I don't, he will find out our plan.
- ... You came here just to tell me this? - Asks Urahara.
- No. - Kaliver puts his hand on his pocket and grabs an envelope and gives it to him.
- What is this? - Urahara asks, very uncomfortable and intriged.
- A hope.
Hisana looks at her friends, anxious and attentive, waiting for the answers. She sighs and begins:
- "A long time ago, when Soul Society was starting to build their bases, laws and rules, the shinigamis were more then warriors, they were lords who promulgated the peace and order throughout the spiritual world. At that time, the "Shinoreijutsuin" or " Academy of spiritual arts" did not existed, because the first shinigamis were not born to aquire power, they were born to have the power. The Great King, lord of all spiritual creation, who is even above the Reio himself, chose his most precious guardians and to each one he gave the power to achieve their purposes.
Between those "Primordial Shinigamis", a particular one had received a power that should never be used before he received an order from the Great King. This power was so enormous that only the most special of his lords had the right to receive it, and this shinigami was called Magnus- the controller of time and space.
- I remember reading a story like that... Where was it... - Rukia takes a while thinking. - Oh! In the library of my house! - She remembers, snapping her fingers.
-Rukia... - Ichigo looks at her with a estrange looks on his face.
- What?
- Let Hisa tell the story...
- Huh? Oh, sorry...
Hisana smiles.
- It's okay Rukia-san, you are right, the library of the Kuchiki mansion have some reports of what I am telling you now, and I believe I had access to some of those reports some time ago.
- Hisa-san! Hisa-san! Continue! - Inoue says, exited.
- All right.
" The Soul Society always existed with the other worlds in harmony and peace. Every purified hollow was reborn in forty years, thus keeping the spiritual balance of earth. Magnus observed his shinigami colleagues working so hard to provide assistence to those little souls who died so early but lived so intense, what gave every lord great joy during their spiritual funerals (called 'konso') deep inside they knew that in forty years they could see those same creatures continuing the eternal cicle. For a shinigami, time was everything, but meant nothing.
Time passed as Magnus continued to watch that cicle, sometimes he passed months, years on earth, watching the evolution of the body happening right before his eyes and it was in one of those observations that he saw her for the first time...
The young shinigami was walking by the streets of an old city, busy observing the humans and their actions, when he bumped on a woman, or he would have bumped if she had not passed right through his body. He felt cold and warm at the same time. He looked at her.
- I'm sorry sir, I was walking without paying attention... - said the young lady, with almond shaped eyes and long black hair. She was wearing a simple dress.
Magnus was breathless and he did not know what to say or do.
The young lady smiled to him, bowed respectfully, and continued her way.
- Wait! - He screamed at her, since she was the only person capable of seeing him.
She looked back at him.
- Can you... see me? - Magnus said pointing a finger at himself and looking perplexed.
- Yes, my lord. - She nodded.
- But how is that possible? - He says, confused.
- Sir, unfortunately, I do not have the answer to that question.
- Well, with you reacting so naturally, I think I'm not the first one you see, right? - Yes, I've seen others like you, my lord, wearing black kimonos like the night or wearing armors, watching us under the moonlight, making sure that we keep existing, during our lives and after our death.
- Since when can you see us? - He asked.
- I always saw them, my lord, but the first time I saw what your mission is, was when one of your kind guided my mother to the other world. The woman who guided my mother had a magnificent sword and I remember that she touched my mother's forehead and a little shining sphere came out of her chest before her last breath. My mother and her guide floated towards the sky.
- Fascinating! - Magnus said, amazed. - What are you called, young human?
- Your servant is called Elena, my lord. - She answered and bowed politely.
- What you are capable of doing is beyond what's possible... - Magnus looked curious and intrigued. - If it won't bother you, I'd like to see you again, Elena.
- Your servant is at your disposal, my lord. - She bowed again.
- You don't have to be so formal. I understand that you humans usually act respectfully and with resignation towards something or someone you don't know well, but don't worry, I intend no harm, and I do intend to know you better, because what you can see... makes you special, Elena. - He said.
Elena was embarrassed with those words. She looked at the ground.
- Your servant do not deserve so much respect...
Magnus smiled.
- If you allow me, I have to go back to the place where I belong, but I give you my word that we will see each other again. Fate brought me here, and I'm sure fate will bring me back.
- Good travel to you, my lord. - She bowed again.
- You too, young Elena.
The primordial shinigami opened a portal in front of Elena's eyes. When he disappeared inside the portal she looked to her sides to make sure no one saw what she saw. Then, she smiled and picked up her basket of fruits and vegetables and continued her routine.
But that man would never leave her thoughts and dreams.
Everyone listening to the story notices an important detail and Ichigo is the first one to ask the question.
- Wait a minute! The konso was done when the humans were still alive?
- Yes. - Hisana answers.
- But why?
- At that time it was a safe way to avoid lost souls that could become hollows, but I'm not saying it's the only way, but the safest way, and because before there was no shinigami academy, they were very few; in another words, the control of the souls became harder as the population increased.
-Hm... Okay, I understand that part, but why nowadays nobody does it anymore?
- Because I think nowadays, Ichigo, the shinigamis are not just responsible for guiding souls or purifying hollows, they also have to do many things, including bureaucratic things. Maybe finding a hollow or a lost soul and purifying it with the sword is easier nowadays then just simply waiting the moment to realize the konso. - Answers Rukia.
- That's true. - Says Hisana.
- But what's the difference of making the konso in a spirit and in someone who's about to die, if it's the same result?
- Imagine the pain that a soul suffers when becoming a hollow... The desperation of wishing to be free from that prison... To watch yourself making atrocities and unable to stop yourself... - Inoue whispers to her friends. They all remain in silence.
- Inoue-san is right, that's why shinigamis can never stop working, they didn't want those souls to be lost and even when they couldn't avoid that, they purified the hollows quickly so that they wouldn't suffer so much and guided their souls personally.
- Continue, Hisa-san! I'm starting to like this story! - Inoue says exited, once again.
- I don't know how you can understand the story interrupting Hisa-san like that... - Ishida says, not exited at all.
Sado nods, agreeing.
- I'm sorry!... - Says Ichigo, Rukia and Inoue at the same time.
- Please continue, Hisa-san. - Ishida asks politely.
Hisana finds the scene funny and grins. She continues:
"A few hours later of meeting with the young lady, Magnus had a meeting with his friends.
- Are you really telling the truth, Magnus? - Asked the shinigami girl with yellow hair and with enthusiasm.
- Yes, and she even remembers the konso! - The young Magnus was full of enthusiasm, just like the blond shinigami.
- How extraordinary! I never thought humans could evolute so much so that they can see us...Unbelievable! How many of them can do it?
- I don't know yet, but I want to ask the Great King why he is allowing the humans to see us now.
- I don't think that's necessary, Magnus, if this is because of the Great King, we can accept it and take the opportunity to interact with them! - Says the girl.
- That's right Magnus, think of the many good things we could do with this! The learning, the evolution! - Said a happy man, full of ideas.
Magnus listened to his friends but he couldn't stop thinking about the young Elena, who treated the unknown with so much confidence that she enchanted him.
- I think it's time to look for others like her... How many of them could be out there? What can we learn now that we know it's possible that they can communicate with us without especial interventions? - Magnus thought out loud and got up to exit the place.
- You are right, my friend, I will do a research about those humans and if there is something especial on their spirits! - Said the man who walked by his side.
- Ah! But if you start chasing those humans I'll be jealous! You hear me? - Screamed a mud humored lady.
- Danielle, come quickly or we'll leave you behind! - Magnus laughed.
- You are not crazy enough o leave me here! - She shouted back and ran to them.
- Well, I know I'm not crazy but as for Solomon, I can't guarantee anything. - The young blond man said expecting his friend reaction.
- I prefer that you see me as a crazy man then to confuse me with Danielle because of the hair. - Solomon refutes.
A vein almost explodes in the forehead of Magnus and Danielle.
- What did you say?! - The two of them said.
Solomon looked at his friends and he got worried when he saw the expression on their face.
- Oh...! - He raised an eyebrow and disappeared quickly.
- How dare you to compare my beauty with the horrible man of Magnus?! - Danielle also disappeared.
- Horrible man? I am the the most admirable shinigami of the spirit palace! Danielle? Solomon?! Drats...! - Magnus disappeared.
The shinigamis who were walking through the palace could only hear the laughter of Solomon, while an angry Danielle and a revolted Magnus were trying to catch him.
_
A few hours later the young shinigami started looking for Elena. He looked everywhere, but couldn't find her. He walked into houses, walked through the streets and ran through the skies, but she was nowhere to be seen. When he was about to give up, he found a person lying under a tree close to the river. Wnting to know who that was he got closer and for his surprise, it was her. She was deeply asleep. Magnus got closer so that he could see better the serene face of the young woman.
- My lord, you don't need to wait for me to open my eyes if you want to talk to me.
Magnus almost had a heart attack.
Elena smiled and opened her eyes slowly. She stretched her legs.
- How did you know I was here? - he asked.
- I felt my lord getting closer to me while I slept, so I didn't worry. - She answered naturally.
- You felt my presence? - That was something new to him.
- Yes sir, but I can not explain how I'm capable of doing this.
- Why are you sleeping in a place like this?
- What's wrong with sleeping in a place like this? - She asked, as she arranged her hair.
- Well, you must have a home and a family, there's no need for you to sleep here, it's dangerous! - Elena laughed.
- My lord, why should I fear anything? - She took the dirt off her clothes.
- Huh? - Magnus raises one eyebrow, confused. Elena noticed he was confused, so she smiled.
- Isn't that why you are here, my lord? To protect me?
-... I didn't mean that. - Magnus got embarrassed.
- Then why were you after me all day long?
- How do you know I was after you? - He tried to look innocent.
- Becuase you look so peaceful now that you found me, my lord. - She answered, trying to hide her smile.
Magnus was graceless. That woman was very smart, ha was already feeling like an idiot.
Elena sat up and invited Magnus to sit by her side. Very shy, he walked closer, as he looked into her eyes.
- You can sit, I won't bite. - She giggles.
Magnus sat down.
- Why were you after me, my lord? - She asked.
- Because you were the first person that could see me, so I wanted to know you better to try to understand how that is possible.
- I see... - She smiled melancholic.
- Is there a problem? - He asked noticing her expression.
- My lord... Am I weird? - She stares the shinigami by her side.
- Weird? What do you mean? - It's just that... Since I was little I could see spirits, since the day my mother died. All the others in the village say I'm weird, because I talk to spirits, and that makes me sad because I never wanted to be like that... - She stared at the ground. - But I know that you are not a bad spirit and I saw others like you destroying monsters that tried to attack us. And they are lying about me, I am not weir... Or am I? - She whispered, doubting her identity.
Ma gnus looked at Elena with her head down and sad eyes. He sighed and then said:
- You are not weird, that is the word the people on your village use to define the envy they feel for not being like you.
- For not being like me? - Elena raised her head to stare him.
- Yes, you are special. - Magnus smiled naturally. - People fear what they do not know: that's the principle of fear and it's also the principle of faith and respect. You can see what they do not know, without fear and without being someone you are not. If I were one of them, I would also be jealous.
Elena felt happy for hearing those words.
- Thank you, my lord. Your words fill my heart with happiness.
- Magnus.
- Huh?
- My name is Magnus.
- Oh! It's a pleasure to meet you, my lord. - Elena said bowing to him.
- Please, stop calling me "my lord", it makes me uncomfortable. I am young and handsome, I don't look old enough to be a lord, do I? - Magnus made a funny face and Elena laughed.
Magnus looked young and slim, his long blond made him mysterious. Elena felt good with him. She felt like an explorer exploring an unknown cave.
- So, Magnus, right?
He nodded.
- If not that old to be a lord... How old are you?
- I will try to interpret your silence. - She said smiling and faking intelligence.
- Don't you dare! - Magnus felt embarrassed.
- Really? Then I think you are about "XXXX" years old, are you? - She made absent calculations in her head.
- I am not "XXXX" years old! - He got scared.
- What? You're older then this? - Elena was laughing.
- Of course not, not at all! Wait, why is this conversation making me nervous?! - Magnus asked to the wind when he understood that Elena was teasing him.
Elena's belly was aching because of her laughter.
- You are amazing, in less then 10 minutes you already made me laugh like I never laughed before. Thank you Magnus.
- Hey, I am not a clown, and I don't remember telling you any jokes! Is there something funny on my face? - Magnus got up and walked to the river, to see his reflection.
Elena was having the best time of her life.
- There is nothing funny on your face. I'm just happy that you're here with me.
Magnus looked at her. - You're happy to be with me?
- Yes. And thank you for making my day incredible, my lord.
Magnus blushed. He did not know what to say.
- Will... Will we see each other tomorrow? - Asked Elena.
- If you wish...
- What about you, my lord? Do you wish to see me again?
- Only if you stop calling me "my lord".
They both smiled.
Magnus had no idea of what he was getting himself into. Every day he met Elena and they shared experiences lived by them in their conditions, and that made every date especial.
As time passed, the wish to see that woman got bigger and he wished the time could pass faster when he wasn't with her, so that he could see her again the next day. Without his awareness, a different feeling grew inside their heart, something they never felt before and that would make him commit the biggest mistake of his life, a forbidden action that would change forever the dimensions of the world.
- Wait a minute, Hisa-san... - Interrupts Ishida raising his hand.
- Yes?
- You said you came here to tell us about what happens to us in the future, and you said Ichigo died and everybody here is waiting to hear how that happens, so why are you telling us a different story? - Because the man on the story is the one who killed Ichigo, right? - Guesses Yoruichi.
- Correct, Yoruichi-san. - Everyone looks at Hisana. - But not completely.
- What do you mean? - Asks Ishida.
- Magnus did not just kill Kurosaki Ichigo, he killed all of you.
- WHAT? - they scream at the same time.
- You've got to be kidding! Are you serious? - Screams Ichigo.
- Why would I waste my time lying to you? - Says Hisana looking at him.
- … Damn it! - Ichigo got nervous.
Rukia slaps him in the head.
- Will you shut up Ichigo? You think you are the only one worried here?!
- And will you stop hitting me as if I am your husband?! - Screams Ichigo at Rukia.
Everyone looks at Ichigo and Rukia.
Hisana laughs.
- What are you laughing at? - Scream Ichigo and Rukia together.
Hisana stops laughing.
- Is he that powerful? - Asks Ishida showing concern.
- Very powerful.
- Can you tell us how powerful he is?
- Well, I don't think there are words to describe how strong he is, but if there is, it can be only one...
- Which?
- Death.
Everyone is silent.
- There is something I do not understand, Hisa-san. You are saying that this man, Magnus, will kill us in the future, but why is he so happy and good in your story? - Inoue asks.
- Because not every monster is born like one. They go through a transformation that makes them something that many will fear or hate. Magnus was not exception.
- You said something about him committing a mistake that would change dimensions, right? - Asks Yoruichi.
- Exactly.
- And what did he do?
- He fell in love for a human. - Hisana surprises everyone.
- Kaliver, why would you do that? - Urahara is not convinced.
- I have my reason, it's up to you if you accept the facts.
- I don't understand... You are an enemy... - Katsuya could not believe him.
- And you are my enemy too. But, there is something that Hisana told me years ago that would apply perfect to this situation.
- And what did she say?
- "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
- Makes sense. - Urahara agrees.
- So what should we do? - Katsuya asks his father.
- What do you...?
Before Urahara finishes his sentnce, Kaliver goes towards Katsuya and pierces him with his bare hands. He looks Katsuya in the eyes, showing no mercy.
- You... Bast... ard... Traitor... - Katsuya falls dead.
- Katsuya! - Urahara screams. Confused, he holds his zanpakutou and runs t Kaliver to attack him.
Kaliver points his hand towards Urahara and an energy blow penetrates the scientist's chest.
Urahara falls, dead.
