And the sad truth is revealed - part 3

The night comes and in the store of Urahara the people hearing the story starts to believe it. To hear this story is a great privilege, in an extraordinary way, but they don't know that the story barely begun.

–So he fell in love with a human. What's the crime? - Asks Ichigo.

Urahara and Yoruichi look at each other, but don't say a word. Hisana takes the word:

–Ichigo-san, the spiritual world and the human world weren't created to interact with each other, because they are in different dimensions. You are an example: when you received Rukia-san's powers, you committed a serious crime, she almost died.

–Okay, but why is that a crime? - He asks again.

–Well... I was reading an ocidental book about the creation of this world, and on that book there were reports of spiritual beings that turned into material beings, so they could get together with humans, eventually having children with powers above average. The "super-humans", when realized they had such power, tried to bring chaos to the world. This book tells in a different way what I believe to be just like what happens in the Soul Society that we know. - Explains Hisana.

–But...- Ichigo tries to make another question. - If they knew this would happen, why didn't they stop it from happening?

–Ichigo. - Rukia draws his attention. - Do you remember when you fought against Ishida and while I explained what happened to the quincies you asked the reasons the same way you're doing now?

–Yes.

–I say what I said that time: "The laws and rules of Soul Society were made to keep the spiritual balance between the two worlds and mainly to protect the humans", but nothing stands in the way for someone who wants to disrespect them. And also, nobody can choose who to fall in love for, don't you think?

–I think I understood... - Ichigo thinks for a while.

–But at that time, Rukia-san, such laws were very vague, and maybe they didn't even exist. - Says Hisana.

–What do you mean, Hisa? - Rukia asks.

–That some laws that exist now, did not exist before. They were only created because terrible things happened.

–That obviously includes Magnus, right? - Says Ishida.

–Correct, the mistake Magnus made was the first one reported, but it may not be the only one.

–Hisa-san, please tell us what happened to Magnus and Elena-san. - Asks Inoue.

Everyone looks at Hisana, so she understands that they all wanted the same thing the redhead girl did.

–All right. - She continues:

"The feeling that the young Magnus felt was new to him and he was not created for that. He was confused, he had to find out what was going on, but he only knew one person that could help him understand and that person was Elena.

She was sitting next to a little river, singing, and, as always, she felt Magnus coming to her direction. When she felt that, she stopped singing and looked at him, smiling.

–Magnus, it's so good to see you today. - She stopped talking when she realized that Magnus was looking at his feet, apparently thoughtful and sad. She raised his chin so she could look into his eyes. - Magnus, what happened?

–Elena, I am confused. There is something not normal happening to me, and I can't find out what it is. I need your help. - He said with anxious eyes.

Elena got very concerned and held Magnus by the hand. They went to the borders of the river, where they sat down.

–Tell me what's bothering you.

–I feel something inside of me, it's like a disease. It makes my body sweat and shiver, my heart beats faster, sometimes I lose my concentration while I work and I'm easily distracted by mediocre things and when I try to concentrate back at work, your face comes to my mind. - The young shinigami looks confused to Elena. - Do you humans know what that is?

Elena smiled at Magnus and blushed. She felt like he was a child discovering a whole new world.

–Magnus, while you were wandering through the human world I'm sure you saw some man walking together with a woman. Well, when they decide to stay together forever, they get married and have children, making their own family.

–Yes, of course I've seen many couples on earth, it's called wedding, right? But what that has to do with my problem?

Elena smiled again, she was a little ashamed.

–You are right, but do you know why these people choose to stay together?

–No, I never knew why. - He raises an eyebrow, and for the first time starts to think about it.

–Because they "felt something inside of them, like a disease. Their body sweat and shivers, their hearts beat faster and sometimes they lost concentration while they worked to think about mediocre things, and when they tried to concentrate, the face of the other came to their minds. "And do you know what we call this? - Elena was avoiding looking into his eyes.

–No. - Magnus thought she was acting weird.

–We call it love.

–Oh... So this is what you call love? - Magnus was astonished. He looked at the sky as he grinned ear to ear.

Elena looked at the fascinated Magnus, and blinked nervously, blushing and looking away.

Magnus looked at her smiling, thankful for the answer, but he felt something strange when he saw the blush on Elena's face. He also blushed and got extremely timid, giving her a nervous smile.

–So... So this strange sensation that I've been having since the first time I saw you... That was... Is it?! - His temperature rose.

–That's called embarrassment. - She answered without looking at him.

–But why do I feel so weak when I look at you? Are you sure that this is not a disease?

Elena, even embarrassed as she was, couldn't hold her laugh.

–Why are you laughing? I... I'm here worried about my health and you... You're laughing at my condition? - Magnus stammered nervously.

–I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. Look, if you really think you're sick, I can cure you. - She whispered very low.

–Really? What do you need? I can help you find anything you need. - He answered with hope in his heart.

Elena smiled and blushed.

–You don't have to look for anything Magnus... What you need is here with me. - She said, touching her chest, right where her heart was.

–Huh?

Elena, who was already next to Magnus, brought her face closer to his, in such a natural way that when she kissed his lips, he instinctively responded to her lips, kissing her back. He could not describe what he felt. His body was warm as if all the heat coming from the woman's lips went right to his heart, making him feel an electric shock. He wanted to feel everything she was transmitting to him, so he closed his eyes. He couldn't feel anything but Elena, no worries and no doubts. In a way, he felt his heart purified.

Elena separated her lips from his and looked into his eyes. Magnus also looked at her. They said nothing for a while.

–How do you feel, Magnus? - She asked blushing.

Magnus seemed to awake from a sleep and he started to see Elena in a different way. Her thin curvy beautiful body, her pale skin, her almond shaped eyes that hypnotized him, and then he realized how little he felt when looking at them. Her ebony colored hair, like silk floating in the air when the wind came to it, her soft hands, her soft voice of angel...

He knew that that was what he wanted, that kiss showed the shinigami a new horizon and the responsible for changing his world looked at him as if he was the only man and that attracted him to be next to her. He really wanted to be next to her always.

- I...

Magnus gently touched her face as his body materialized in the human world and Elena could feel the warmth of his body, and she felt his hands that she could only feel before because he allowed it but now she could feel him because he wanted to feel her too.

–I think...

Magnus approached his face to hers.

–I think I'm still sick... - he whispered.

Elena allowed herself to smile whit passion as she looked at his lips next to hers.

They kissed passionately one more time, next to the river. For Magnus, that was a special moment, he never felt something so wonderful in all his existence, and he was happy he could use all the luck he had. In his heart, he thanked any person who made that moment possible.

Elena and Magnus met for the first time next to that river, with the sun above them and love around them, holding them together, a fearless love that they both shared, filling their hearts with joy. They wished that moment never ended...

Kaliver looks at the lifeless body of Urahara and throws Katsuya on the ground beside his father. He then stares at his hands full of blood, when suddenly something draws his attention.

–Show yourself, even if you can hide your presence, your smell is putrid and I can feel it from miles away.

Nothing happens.

Kaliver extends his hand towards a wall and trespasses it, grabbing from the other side a creature with human body but filled with stitches in his body and big eyes.

–Calm down, mister "Abissal" I'm just here as the messenger! - says the creature tossing like a cockroach in the hand of Kaliver. He throws the creature next to the bodies of Urahara and Katsuya.

–What do you want? I am following the orders of the great Magnus, and I don't have time to lose with a failed experiment like you.

The creature laughs with joy.

–Be careful who you call failed experiment Kaliver...

–Silence! I will not say this twice, what do you wa...

–Okay, I got it! The message is from my lord Solomon: "Bring me concrete samples of all the humans that you kill". That's what he wanted me to tell you.

–I will do it.

–If you want, I can grab something of these two and bring them to my master.

–If the orders were for a vermin like you to fulfill, I wouldn't mind, but as you already finished your mission, be gone and let me finish mine!

–I hope you obey your master, Kaliver, because you know how Solomon can be even crueler than Magnus himself. Furthermore, you know you own your life to him.

–I know.

–So you better do your job right. - Says the creature with a cynical smile. He goes towards the wall.

–You are just forgetting one detail, vermin. - Kaliver says to the creature, which turns his frightened eyes to him.

The abissal concentrates a cero with enough energy to destroy that creature.

–Solomon is no longer my master.

Kaliver releases the energy to the monster which evaporates as he screams with terror and pain.

–Stupid vermin.

He steps on the ashes of the monster, going to a little screen full of keys and monitors all over the room.

–It's almost time...

The days passed and Magnus was each day closer to Elena, so close that he spent days without returning to Soul Society and without fulfilling his duty. One day, he heard something horrifying and wonderful, result of his approaching to Elena.

They met again by the river. She looked at him with her eyes full of fear.

–Elena? What happened? Why are you so scared?

–Magnus... I... I'm pregnant!

Magnus first reaction was to freeze, but he soon felt so happy that he laughed and raised Elena with his arms.

–This is wonderful! Elena, we'll be parents!

Elena also smiled but she was still scared.

–Elena, why are you afraid? - Magnus asked putting her back on the ground.

–My love... This baby... Me and you... I don't know... If this is right... - She said showing how terrified she was.

–What do you mean?

–Magnus, I am human, mortal, and I will have a baby whose father is immortal... What will this child be? Why do I feel like I'm doing something wrong? My god... I am so scared! Scared to lose you, scared to lose this baby... I don't know why I feel this way... Forgive me! - Elena hid her face in her hand and started to cry.

Magnus realized that she was right, it has never been registered a human having shinigami children or the other way around, he did not know what would be the consequences or what kind of child it would be.

–I don't want to believe that you were a mistake, because the Great King would never have allowed us to meet if it were wrong, and I know I'm here... – He points a finger to Elena's forehead. - ...and here... - He points a finger to her heart - … and thanks to you I'm here too. - He gently puts his right hand on Elena's belly. - If you and this child is a mistake in my life, then they are the most wonderful mistakes I ever made. - He grinned, almost crying and hugged her.

Elena cries in Magnus's chest, but soon her sadness went away and she felt comfortable and safe to be with someone she loved.

–Elena, I promise I will never leave you two and I will never allow anyone to hurt you. I will protect you, doesn't matter what it costs.

They kissed with passion as they cried and exchanged vows once again.

Even if Magnus was determined to protect Elena, he needed to know the consequences of him having a baby with a human. So he called his closest friends and told them everything that happened, because he really needed their advice.

–Magnus... - The blond shinigami with blue eyes did not know what to say, but she feared for the life of his precious friend.

–So that's why you spent weeks without coming back... - Solomon nodded.

–And that's why you were acting so weird at work... - She and Solomon looked at each other.

–What you did is crazy, my friend, you escaped from the plans of the Great King. When he allowed us to live next to the humans, he didn't mean to allow us to live with them! - Solomon rebuked his friend.

–I know, but I love this human, Solomon, I cannot allow anything to happen to her or our baby because of something I did! - Magnus looked nervous.

–Magnus... In the laws of the spirits, I know one that prohibits us to get together because we are not the same...

–Not the same? How so, Danielle? - Magnus asked.

–This law means that it doesn't matter if the child will be a monster or not. Maybe it won't even be born since is the result of two completely different forms of life, in another words: an spiritual anomaly. - Interpreted Solomon.

–I don't want my baby to be called this way! And I don't want him to die because he's my son and the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me! Please, help me! - Magnus pleaded.

Danielle and Solomon looked surprised at Magnus, but afterwards they frowned, worried.

–Magnus, even if we help you, soon or later they will find out. - Said Solomon.

–But until then I can think of something. – His friend refuted.

–I … I know a place far away from any civilization that will be an excellent hideout for her and the baby. I used to go there to meditate and train my techniques. I think that she can at least go through pregnancy with peace, if she stays very quiet. - Danielle suggested.

–Tell me where it is, I don't care if I have to cross the globe! – Magnus said.

Danielle looked at Magnus and smiled.

–All right.

–I will look for something that might help us or maybe gives us a hope to escape any kind of punishment, but until then, this must be a secret, you cannot tell anyone else what's going on, human or not. - Solomon said wisely.

–Understood. - Answered Magnus. He looked at his friends with emotion. - Solomon... Dani... Thank you. If it wasn't for you, I'd be lost.

–Yes, you would. - Solomon crosses his arms and got punched by Danielle, who got angry but looked back at Magnus with a smile.

–We know you would do the same for us. - Said Danielle.

–And also because we are brothers. - Solomon smiled discretely.

The three hugged each other.

Magnus and Elena moved to a very distant place in the mountains, the trip was long and tiresome, but they finally got where Danielle told them to. They built a little house there where they started to live. Danielle sometimes came to tell them what was going on between the two worlds. Solomon came too, he checked how the baby and Elena were doing and he was the first to notice the signs.

–Did you notice, Magnus?

–Yes, but it was very weak.

–The tendency is to get stronger, be prepared, anything can happen from now on.

–Honey, what does Solomon mean? Is something wrong with the baby? - Elena asked, worried.

–No honey, he's fine. But do you remember how you always feel when I'm approaching you?

–Yes, but what's wrong?

–I found out that spiritual beings like us, or humans like you, send a constant flow of energy that goes by our body and expands in thousands of little particles that I call "reishi" or "spiritual particles", in another words for you to understand, young Elena, the presences that you feel is part of your intuition, sixth sense or spiritual sensibility and the capacity you have to feel the reishi we call "reiatsu" - Expained Solomon.

–And what does my baby has to do with this, Solomon? - She was starting to get worried.

–Our baby just started emanating the reishi, Elena, try to feel it. - Magnus suggested to his wife.

Elena closed her eyes and felt a different energy inside herself and she grinned with happiness.

–I can feel it! It's my baby! - She exclaimed.

Magnus and Solomon were not smiling.

–Honey?

–Elena, if our baby starts to emanate such energy, and if it gets stronger, it won't take long for them to find out where we are. - Magnus was really worried.

–Another problem is, because this child has an unknown reiatsu, we don't know what this child can attract. - Solomon said, thoughtful.

Elena started to cry with fear.

–But what can we do? I want this baby!

–I still don't know, but I'll keep searching until I find an answer for this. I promise you that. - Solomon said, determined.

–I said I was going to protect you, Elena, even if I can't sleep, I'll be here by your side, always. - Magnus comforted her with a strong hug, which Elena returned with a kiss.

–Magnus, I have to get back before they notice I'm missing. - Solomon interrupted the couple.

Magnus hugged his friend.

–Thank you, Solomon, if it wasn't for you and Danielle, I don't know how we would be.

Solomon grinned and looked at Elena.

–Elena, take care of this scatterbrain and thanks for the apple pie.

The woman smiled.

–Take care of yourself, Solomon, and thanks for taking care of my baby.

–Don't worry, as long as you're okay and the child is born with health and a little of your beauty, will be a great reward for me. - He said.

–Did you say anything, Solomon? - Magnus asked, crossing his arms.

–Me? - Solomon said, opening the door and leaving. - You must be hearing things. If you want, next time I'll bring you some medicine for hearing problems. - He closed the door.

Elena laughed.

–You're laughing? Did you understand what that cobra meant? He completely ignored the beauty of the most beautiful spiritual being! It's absurd. - He said, upset.

–You two are like children. - She laughed musically, pulling delicately his nose.

–I'm not a child! - He said inflating his cheeks and stomping his feet on the ground.

Elena giggled, but then she felt the baby moving and looked surprised at Magnus.

–Honey, the baby!

–What's wrong?

Elena didn't want to waste time explaining, so she held his hand and placed it on her belly.

Magnus felt the baby kicking and gapped.

–He moved! Elena, he moved! - His eyes sparkled.

Elena laughed along with Magnus as he knelt and placed his head over her belly to hear his baby.

–This miracle can't be a sin... - He whispered.

–Magnus... - Elena blushed and hugged her husband, kissing his hair.

Time passed and the difficulties appeared. The spiritual palace had not yet perceived the presence of Elena and her baby, but they were looking for Magnus for several days. Hollows appeared constantly in the mountains, attracted by the power of the baby, giving Magnus a lot to do and to worry about; he sometimes forgot to eat or sleep. His physiognomy changed little by little, making him look tired and thin. But even when he was badly hurt fighting hundreds of hollows at the same time, he remember why he had to stand up, and always continued, until there was no enemy left.

Elena's belly grew proportionally to the power of the child and danger became constant. With time, not just Magnus was haggard, but Elena also started to lose her strength. The spiritual power of the shinigami increased due to the routine they lived, but some time later, Elena got sick and Solomon came to them once again.

–That's impossible! Is it true what you are saying, Solomon?

–Unfortunately, yes, my friend. It seems that the baby is feeding himself with the spiritual energy of Elena and soon I am afraid that he will feed on her vital energy and then...

–I will bring this child to the world! - Elena said, determined, interrupting Solomon.

–Elena... - Solomon respected Elena's will but he was afraid that his theory could become a mortal true.

–Isn't there anything we can do? - Asked Magnus.

–Remember of the spiritual root they say is capable of recovering the reishi of a shinigami? If it can do that to us, imagine what it will do to your wife and your baby, since they both have spiritual energy above average.

–That's true! - Exclaimed Magnus. - But these trees are almost extinct, do you know where I can find one?

–I've never been there, Mangus, but I believe I know. - He answered.

–Where?

–Northeast from here, descending the mountains close to the cliff of the nomads, but that place is full of hollows.

–Damn! So how can I go there with my wife?

–She can't go, she won't make it... Unless... That one of us stays here.

–My brother, I know that you and Danielle have done a lot for us, but this time I ask you to stay here with Elena. I can't allow you to risk yourself once more for us. I've killed every hollow of this zone, I believe we have some days of peace until I get back.

–Honey... - Elena was worried.

Magnus got closer to her.

–I will not delay. Before you blink, I'll be back with the fruit that is going to cure you, and you will feel much better. I promise.

They hugged.

–Be careful, my brother. I can be away from Soul Society for two days without raising suspicion, so please, be quickly.

–I will. - Said Magnus, ready to leave. - Be careful.

Magnus ran for days, without food or water, every second was precious. Only when he was near the place he wanted to be, he ate something and rest for a while.

He continued his journey the next day. He saw a bunch of hollows ahead of him. When he got closer, he saw a little valley and behind it, a great abyss and a lot of silver trees with purple fruits. He descended carefully and went towards the valley, but he reached a point where he couldn't give one more step without drawing the attention of the hollows. He took the chance to go for the trees and take the fruit when two hollows were fighting for a carcass of another hollow.

When he got the fruit, he turned to get back, but he slipped on a rock that felt down and made a small noise, enough to aware the whole valley of his presence. Magnus tries to hide in the forest, but the hollows smelt him and chased him. He realized that he couldn't stop running, and he was very tired, so he ate a one of the fruits he was carrying, being able to run for a day, leaving the Hollows behind.

Magnus finally saw the mountain where his wife and son lived, but he felt confused and worried when he saw the smoke coming from it.

–What is that? It comes from my house!

Magnus feared for his family, the smoke was not a good sign. When he arrived at the house, he stopped breathing and remained motionless.

His house was filled with ashes and only a mournful came from the wreckage. The ground was covered with dead shinigami bodies. Magnus called for Elena as he moved the burning wreckage to look for her, but she was nowhere to be seen. When he lost hope and sat on the ground to cry, he heard something moving inside the house, through some wooden wreckage. He lifted the ruins and saw Solomon lying wounded, which brought him back hope.

–Solomon! My friend, you're alive!

Solomon had burns and dirt on his skin. His wounded body was a sign that he had a terrible fight.

–What happened here? Where's Elena? Who did this? - Magnus asked with despair.

–Magnus... They got her... The shinigamis got her and said... You... - Solomon was losing consciousness.

–Hey! Solomon, stay awake! - Magnus shook Solomon.

–Magnus... They will kill her... You have to do something. - Solomon could barely speak.

–Who was leading the mission?

Solomon didn't answer.

–Who, Solomon?

–Danielle... - He answered, feeling betrayed and holding a scarf that she used to hold her hair.

Magnus could not believe him, but as he held the scarf in his hand, a terrible rage grew inside of him and he forgot that Danielle was once his friend. Now she was a traitor, and that word echoed on his mind and poisoned his heart.

–Solomon, stay here, I will bring her back.

–No. You will not go on your own, I will not let you... - Solomon found strength to sit up. - I'm going with you.

Magnus saw the determination on his friend's eyes and smiled.

–Thank you Solomon, you are more than a friend, you are my brother. - Magnus gave one of the fruits he brought with him to Solomon. - And I will not allow them to take my family away from me, even if they are my colleagues!

Magnus tied his hair and looked at the scarf on his hand. He stiffened his muscles and his blue pupils turned golden. He stretched his right arm and opened his hand. The air distorted before his eyes.

–Open, Chronos!

The air distorted even more and little red sparks came out of it as a black portal appeared in front of them.

–Follow me, Solomon, and try not to get lost. - Magnus warned entering the portal.

–Where are we going, Magnus? - Solomon followed him.

Magnus didn't answer.

The portal led them to a room familiar to Solomon.

–This is Danielle's living room...

–Exactly.

Danielle felt their presence and came to them.

–Solomon, you came back and... With Magnus! - She exclaimed. - What are you doing here? It's dangerous!

Magnus remained silent.

–And why are you looking at me like that? What's going on?

–I ask you, what's going on Danielle? First you said you'd help us, but in the end, you betrayed us, you almost killed Solomon and even kidnapped Elena! Do you think we're stupid? Traitor!

–Traitor! I'm didn't betray you! Magnus, this is a misunderstanding...

–Quiet! Where is my wife?

–I don't know, Magnus, I told you I didn't do anything! Somebody else must have done it and made it look like it was me!

–Really? Then explain me, who owns this? - Magnus showed her the scarf.

–That's... - She touched her hair and realized she was without her scarf. - How did you get this? When did I lose it?

–You must have lost it when you ordered the shinigamis to burn my house, attack Solomon and kidnap Elena!

–What? Magnus, listen, there is something wrong... Just think for a while!

Magnus didn't think.

–Your hypocrisy never ends, does it? But that's enough, your voice disgusts me.

–Magnus, wait...!

All of a sudden, Danielle felt the blood coming out of her mouth. She looked down at her chest and held the blade of Magnus sword that went through her body.

–What have you done... - She spited blood. - I... I... - Danielle cried. - Magnus...

She fell, dead.

Magnus felt the hand of Solomon on his shoulder.

–Come on, we have to find Elena as quickly as we can. Let's go separate ways, it will be easier and faster this way.

Magnus looked at the blood on his hands and said:

–Nothing in this world will stop me from finding her and bringing her back. If anyone tries, even if it's you, Solomon, I will not hesitate on killing you, just like I didn't hesitate on killing Danielle. Do you understand?

–I... understand. Now let's go. - Solomon answered, hurrying his friend and not giving too much importance to his threats.

They started to look for Elena as a shinigami discovered Danielle's dead body and sounded the alarm. Looking at the shape of the blade that crossed her chest, they assumed that Magnus was the invader, so a frantic chase for Magnus begun, with him being accused of treason, murder and the suspect of his inappropriate relations with a human.

Magnus and Solomon searched all over the place and both of them killed a lot of ex-colleagues searching for the young human, but couldn't find her. But there was a place that they haven't searched yet: "the Great Gate of the Great King". Magnus went on his own and for his surprise, he was already expected.

The gate opened and a lot of primordial shinigamis were waiting for him.

–That's enough, Magnus. For how long do you intend to continue this madness? - Screamed a young shinigami with long black hair and with posture of a warrior.

–Give me back Elena! I will not stop until I see my wife!

–She's not here, Magnus. - Answered the shinigami who was ahead of the others.

–Liars! That's what you all are: traitors, governed by laws that were created to suppress your own instincts! You are easy to manipulate and lifeless, respecting the laws just to make yourselves miserable! Why couldn't you just take away our feeling, if you knew that our feeling would make us do wrong things? - Magnus was going insane.

–Magnus, stop it, look what you're doing, you killed a friend and she was innocent! Do you really want to kill all your colleagues because of a lie you lived?

–It was not a lie! You're the ones living a lie! Elena was everything for me and you took her away from me, you bastards! - Magnus's eyes were golden because of his rage and he held his sword, ready to attack.

–Magnus... Is this what you really want? - Asked the shinigami on the opening of the gate.

–I want my wife back, but if you will not give her back to me, I will get her, even if that means killing all of you.

The young shinigami signed to the others not to interfere. He stepped forward and held his sword.

–But I will not let you.

–You can't kill me, Yamamoto Genryuusai! - Magnus screamed with a large grin on his face and cynicism in his voice, as he ran to attack him.

They started to fight and no one dared to interfere. The battle was intense and Both Magnus and Yamamoto fought according to their stiles, each blow was elaborated and filled the palace with sparks of the collision of blades. The battle continued for a long time when Magnus retreated.

–That's enough of your games. I don't have time for you, old friend. - Magnus extended his hand, pointing at his enemy.

Yamamoto thought that he would use a millennial art to attack him, so he dodged instinctively. But as his feet touched the ground he felt the blood running from his head. He looked at Magnus and saw the evil smile on his face. Yamamoto felt a terrible pain and suddenly part of his head exploded, leaving him with an enormous wound that flowed blood constantly. He felt to the ground, screaming in pain and trying to figure out what happened.

–You know exactly what that is, don't you, my old friend?

Yamamoto was blind of one eye.

–I have the gift of manipulating the space and suppress time in my hand. That's why I am considered the guardian of immortality of the Great King. He gave me explicit orders of never using this power without his permission. As you can see, the Great King prohibited me, but he did not prevent me from using it. So, I ask you: If it is prohibited, but I still can do it, then why should it be a sin? Elena is his creation, and the fact that she loved me is a sin? Is that a punishment for something he created? Answer me, Yamamoto!

–I... I don't know, Magnus. But the rules always existed and it's not because you have a different opinion that this will change... But even if you are right, you became a criminal when you attacked us and killed Danielle! - Yamamoto held a hand upon his wound to try to avoid the blood from running into his good eye.

–One thing leads to another. If you had not taken her from me, I would have never returned here and you wouldn't be going through all this.

–She's not here, damn it! Wake up, Magnus!

–I will say to you the same thing I said to Danielle: "Your hypocrisy never ends". Die!

Magnus extended again his hand, but suddenly, something unexpected happened.

A big black portal opened before them and started to suck everything around it.

–What... What is going on?! - Magnus got confused.

–The Great King has judged you, Magnus.- Yamamoto said still fallen.

–How? - Magnus was scared as the black hole started to suck him.

–You are no longer worthy of your gift. - Genryuusai was weak and his voice was sad.

–That's impossible! If I die all the shinigamis will lose their immortality, I am the guardian of immortality, and I control the spiritual time! You are doomed if I die!

–Even if we lose our eternal life, we will still be spirits, and we will reborn when we're needed... But you lost that gift... I'm sorry. - Yamamoto lowered his head.

Magnus's arms were disintegrating. He started yelling.

–I am immortal and I won't die until I kill you all, traitors, I can't disappear until I destroy you! You ruined my life and I will ruin yours, I'll avenge my wife and my son, I'll kill the Great King, I'll bring chaos to this world! I swear!

Magnus cried of pain as his body was sucked by the hole and disappeared, but he said everything the shinigamis did not want to hear.

The black portal closed and the shinigamis had disappeared. The ones who witnessed the event started to cry.

The "immortal" no longer existed...

The silence took over everyone there, and only sadness hovered in the air. The ones who were standing up had to take care of the wounded and pick up the dead. Though a shinigami did not need to count his immortal age, they'd still seem like a human in case they died. That's why the tears dropped, for the ones who no longer moved and for a great friend that turned into something else.

What was left of him was only his name and memories. Perhaps, one day, his name wouldn't be remembered anymore. A lot of things changed after the event and the laws were revised; some were erased, some were changed and new ones were created. Yamamoto begun to teach the spirits that, instead of reincarnating, they could live in that spiritual society and become shinigamis.

The primordial shinigamis were now part of the Great King's palace and they no longer got involved with situations beyond the Great Gates, except for Yamamoto, who was an idealist, creator of the Soul Society. He defined new patterns, but mostly, he created new explicit laws about the contact between humans and shinigamis, and the most severe punishments would be defined.

The 46 central was created as the leadership of the wisest who would define such punishments and would keep order between any form of existence, being it spirit or flesh, and thus, the Soul Society prospered.

Many years had passed since then, centuries of the human development. Magnus was forgotten, but somebody was in charge to bring those memories back.

A man with deep mysterious eyes was tipping some things on his computer as various machines on the ground created a round projection on the wall. When finished tipping his estimates and calculations, he pressed the button that would define the beginning of his operation.

Inside the round projection on the wall, an explosion took place, and from inside it a man with yellow hair, almost golden, and could eyes came forward staring the man before him.

–Centuries have passed, eras were extinguished in front of my eyes, but there was not one day that I didn't try to bring the great Magnus back.

–You got older... My friend. - His voice was more powerful then Solomon could remember.

The scientist smiled.

–Immortality is not a blessing anymore, my dear friend.

–Immortality doesn't mean anything, only that my power is absolute. - He answered.

–Welcome back, my friend!

Magnus walked through the place trying to remember how to breathe the air. Elena's image came to his mind and it distorted until it became Danielle and then, Yamamoto.

–Solomon... The nightmare has just begun, and believe me, death will be pleasant for the ones I have mercy with.

The world had changed, the people had changed, but not for Magnus. Shinigamis were mediocre and humans were tools of the unknown.

–The payback time has come... - Said Magnus as he delighted himself with the thoughts of revenge that he planned for centuries.

To be continued...
