FORGIVE ME. THE CHANGES ARE LATER IN THE CHAPTER... THIS IS WHAT YOU DESERVE FOR YOUR KIND PATRONAGE - NOT SOME SHORT LITTLE TEASE.
The fire died hours ago, the ritual ended... and they were still making love as if their lives were dependant upon it.
She held him with both her body, and her soul, feeling him within her in every sense of the word, and he in turn was moving not only within her body but into the very recesses of her mind.
She wouldn't let him leave her as they filled the hours with the sensation of one another breathing, being, living.
The horn sounded as the dawn entreated into their room, and the two remained till they heard the knock on their chamber door.
She stared into his eyes, and held them with her own... "No one else," she sighed, "no one else... ever, my love."
He motioned to speak. She stilled his tongue with her kiss.
"I will NEVER pollute this, your temple," she whispered as she stroked her own abdomen, "with any other man's seed."
"Morrigan...," he tried to protest, "don't deny yourself..."
She smiled, and kissed him again, "You are my only love... and you just proved it again. I know I will NEVER love another like I love you Aeden. You are my heart, the source of my every dream, and the cause for which I breath. Besides, you know me my love... I never settle for second best."
"Aeden?" Reordon called through the door, "We ride for Denerim in the hour. Be ready."
So now, the Arch demon - the old one - and the end of this wonderous journey he had led her on, through the depths of her every emotion, and into the light of her own truth. Love was not simply a wonderful journey taken by two, and experienced only in the depths of their private hearts, it was a world moving, life saving, history shaping thing that had no end, no beginning. It could enslave, or set the very world free. She would not want to experience the loss of it again, anymore than she would trade the birth of it inside her... fathered by this man, this noble, her Aeden.
"About what you said last night," he sighed.
She didn't want to be reminded of her own tears, her last night with him, "Aeden..." she started, the irritation all too evident in her voice.
"Damn it Morrigan! For once, please listen... my love."
She sat up, staring at him, caught off guard by his sudden demand for her submission. He still surprised her with his passion; and in that instant, an odd saying sprang to her mind; one he had said to her countless times: 'Maker - How I love you my Aeden.'
"I will not break my word... EVER, least of all to you. So hear me. I love you... and as such, do you think you can say any of that to me, and not be heard by me? You said that you love me, care for me, yet never want me to follow... and only wanted me to join with you one last time... or you would leave that moment; and YOU expected ME to say no?"
She blushed, "Aeden..." she insisted, almost pleading.
He went on, undeterred, "YOU tell ME that if I care anything for you, I will accept that this is how it must be; and you think I would deny you?"
She rose to standing.
He kissed her lips closed before she could repeat his name, then went on, even as her eyes were red with threatening tears, "YOU say, we go our separate ways!" he screamed, his own eyes red with his own threatening passion, finally given free voice.
She was spellbound.
"YOU say, we go.. our separate paths, never to see one another again EVER... and expect that for one moment I would forget any of what we have shared, and been, and what you ment to me? - could ever forget you? Well, I listened. Now you hear me - MY LOVE..." He gently, desperately, took her face in his hands and stared, unwavering, into her crying eyes.
"Only you," she whispered again through her tears.
He kissed her and held her - once more - as if for life, and whispered into her ear, "In the end I didn't even hate Howe a tenth as intensely as I love you; and I crawled, willingly, through all this hell, not so much to end the blight, not at all to avenge men I hardly knew... but to kill him." then he kissed her tears and his from her full, trembling lips one last time before turning to his armor; then breathed deep to compose himself.
She sat down, on the bed and just stared at him in open adoration and wonder - this slave being set free from the bondage of doubt that he was ever less than he seemed to her worshipful eyes, and adoring heart.
"I," he finally continued, once he had put on his blood stained breastplate, and lifted his gauntlets, "...YOUR AEDEN, can unwaveringly promise you this... I will let you walk away... but I cannot, will not, and refuse to ever stop loving you. I know you? Ha. YOU KNOW ME. No matter what happens, I WILL - FOREVER - FOLLOW my heart, that I, without hesitation... gave to you. If I survive this day, and my debt of honor to the Warden's for taking me to you is ever fully paid... as if it ever could be; then THAT is the cause I now serve, the thing I will die defending, the path I will take; and THAT is the promise I make to you, 'girl from the wilds'. Make of THAT what you will."
She smiled, then looked at him as he left the chamber, dressed in his armor... "Foolish man...," she whispered., "how will this ever work, if you never do what I say?"
