To Guests 1 and 2- both of you were very close to the 1000th review, but Elmlea got there first :P But thank you all the same! :D

I know I keep saying this, but there are two reasons I haven't been updating and I do apologise but…

Young Justice is so cool! If you haven't watched it, WATCH IT.

Running out of ideas for the main stories, other than future ideas. I just need to link them up somehow without too many drabble chapters.

Alvie's story is going to end relatively soon, but I do have ideas for a sequel- if I'm feeling nice that is :D

Crystal was going to kill Alvie.

If she could find him, that was.

He had done the usual thing of waking up at six in the bloody morning, cooked her breakfast, left books all over the place and vanished. She hated cleaning and there were so many books and if she put them in the wrong order he'll get upset and confused and then World War flaming Three would happen.

Stupid idiot.

She left the books as they were, ate her breakfast and left to grill Melanie on where Alvie had wandered off to this time.

"I-I don't know…" Melanie mumbled.

"You don't know what?"

"I don't know where Alvie is, Miss Watson." Crystal nodded once in content.

"Which way is the library?" Melanie called over a passing acolyte and had him lead Crystal up two flights of massive staircases, along a never-ending corridor and through large oak doors.

Crystal mentally cursed- it would take all bloody week to search the library! She should have some sort of tracking device installed so she could find Alvie when he went on one of his stupid 'walks'.

"Alvie!" She called. Six Crystal's called back, sounding irate and tired. She made to ask the acolyte where else Alvie might have gone, but he had ditched too. Men were such prats.

Grumbling to herself, Crystal started stalking about the library, repeatedly calling for her boyfriend. "Alvie, if you've buried yourself under books, I'm going to strangle you!"

"Oh, it's you."

"You could sound more enthusiastic." Another acolyte had appeared, one Crystal new by face, not by name. "Have you seen Alvie?"

"He was here really early this morning, but he left again."

"Do you know where?" The acolyte nervously chewed her lip in thought. Crystal huffed. Acolytes were no use whatsoever. It was no wonder they wanted Alvie to teach them the basics, they wouldn't find their way out of a paper bag. (Reference).

"No, sorry. All I know is he left about four with some of the combat acolytes."

"Joy." Crystal muttered her thanks and left again. She really needed a map or a SatNav for this place. As nice as it was, it was also very confusing and big. Lots of places for someone like her to get lost.

About eight, she returned to their room. Any acolyte she had passed didn't know where Alvie was or seem to care. So much for idolising him, she thought bitterly, those idiots bring down the property value of this place.

The room was exactly as she had left, save one change.

One horrid change.

"Hello." Melanie smiled. She looked relaxed and not stammering or stuttering or avoiding Crystal's eyes. Crystal slammed the door shut for good measure, making the unwanted guest flinch.

"What are you doing here?"

"I didn't know where you went so I came here to wait." Melanie rose, smoothing down her Greek-style dress. "I wanted to offer to look for Alvie as well."

"Oh no you don't! I'm perfectly capable of tracking down my boyfriend without your help!"

"Then why haven't you found him yet?"

"What have you done?"

"Nothing." Melanie said quickly, defiantly holding Crystal's gaze. She was so calm and collected, this wasn't right. Crystal has half-tempted to smash her face in, but if she knew anything about Alvie's whereabouts, she would need Melanie in one piece. For now anyway.

"If I find out you're hiding something, you're going to wish you'd never crossed me." A flicker of fear laced through Melanie's eyes; brief, but enough to inform Crystal that she still had Melanie under her thumb.

Instead of replying, Melanie sauntered past, trying to act all nonchalant. Until Crystal stuck her foot out and tripped her up. Then she stomped around and left a three foot gap at all times between her and soon-to-be-murderer. How Crystal hated the blonde *insert swear word of your choice*.

The acolytes suddenly seemed more helpful with Melanie around. Some that Crystal had questioned earlier claimed now to have seen Alvie about the kitchens or the pool or the library or some other place Crystal had no idea how to get to. Crystal put all those on her hit-list too, making sure to prioritise Melanie's death.

Granddaughter of Hades, her mind reminded her, that doesn't necessarily mean you have to hate everyone.

I hated everyone before I found out I was Hades' granddaughter.

Fair enough.

"Ugh, this is ridiculous!" Crystal stormed forward and caught Melanie by the arm. "Do you even know where he is?"

"I'm sure he's fine." Melanie tried to pry her arm free, but Crystal was stubborn. "Look, you're not helping to find him and, besides, what if he doesn't want to be found?"

"He would at least let me know where he is so he wouldn't worry me."

"He has more to worry about than some petty girlfriend." Melanie replied curtly. Crystal reacted faster than usual, slapping Melanie and then kicking her to the ground.

"At least he has taste, you bitch." Crystal spat, stooping to haul Melanie up by her hair and throw her out a nearby window. She was all for doing that, but there was one teensy problem…

She was flickering.

Melanie stared up at her, looking smug all of a sudden. She got to her feet and moved back out of Crystal's reach, a bruise already starting to form where Crystal had struck her.

"Oh dear." She sighed dramatically. "No-one to help you stay here in this realm." She smirked. "Karma is such a cold-hearted bitch."

OK, maybe not this chapter, but possibly the next one will be the last one.
