Chapter Twelve: Questions and Answers
1
"Guys, what's wrong?" Blair asked.
"Something is very wrong but I am not really sure. Something is happening to the Temple of Light," Sensei Wu answered.
"What is happening and how can you tell?" Blair asked.
"Didn't you two notice it getting darker than usual out?" Cole asked the girls.
Nya and Blair looked at each other and then Blair said, "No, we didn't notice, but we were inside. Plus, I did not really keep track of time so, even if it did get darker, I would have just thought it was later.
"Yeah, same here," said Nya.
"Should we go to the temple to see what's wrong?" Lloyd asked his uncle.
"No, you shouldn't go now; I have a feeling that tonight will be an extra dark night," Wu said.
"Hey, you all are forgetting that we have the ninja of light with us. Blair can make it bright, can't you?" said Jay to Blair.
"Umm, I don't know, if it's like that thick darkness, I don't think I will be able to, but I will try," Blair replied.
She started to form a ball of light much like Lloyd's green energy ball, but brighter. The light was nearly fully encompassing Blair when she stopped and fell over. "Blair!" some of the other ninja shouted as Zane reached over to catch her fall.
"What happened? Is she alright?" Nya asked Zane as he laid Blair gently onto the floor.
"She is fine, I believe that she is in a deep sleep but I do not know what happened."
Staff in hand, Sensei Wu looked in deep thought. "Hmm, you better lay her down in bed and wait until she awakes. We shall wait until dawn to leave to the temple."
Cole, being the strongest (although he quickly realized that the yellow ninja wasn't really that heavy), picked Blair up bridal style and carried her to Nya and her's room. He laid her down on the bed, shut the door, and left the room.
Everyone else seemed to have been gathered in the game room, so that's where he went. He was surprised to find his Sensei in there as well but took this as a golden opportunity to ask a few questions.
"What really did happen to Blair, Sensei? Does it have anything to do with that one day when we originally left for the temples when Lydia couldn't see and such?"
"Unlike the rest of you, Blair and Lydia are not descended from anyone with light and darkness as their elements; in fact, no one ever was with those elements. There are two beings, spirits you may call them, named Kurai (this literally means dark in Japanese according to Google translate) and Hikari (literally means light). Every three hundred years they choose two people to give their powers to, but the two must be twins. The last pair, a girl and a boy, would not admit that they needed help with their powers and, as a result, they were destroyed by them."
"How were they destroyed?" Lloyd asked his uncle.
"Hikari and Kurai give whoever they choose their powers before they are even born. Although the powers start out small and manageable, they eventually grow and become harder and harder to control. The person then must ask either Hikari or Kurai respectively for help. The person then merges with either Kurai or Hikari and their powers become easy to control and they become stronger; they might even get new ones as well. The spirit's (let's just call them that) job is to simply help and empower, they don't control the person. So, to answer your question, Lloyd, the previous two with the element, I believe their names were Vincent and Jillian, were destroyed by themselves. These two were very prideful and would not admit that they needed help. The spirits asked them time and time again, but they always refused and said they could do it on their own when they could not. As a result, the two lost control and died. That, my nephew, is how they were destroyed."
"Didn't they have friends or family, why didn't they tell them to ask for help?" Kai said.
In a complete serious tone, the ancient man said, "No one must ever influence the twins of light and darkness. You must promise me that you will not."
"Wait, what will happen if we tell?" Jay asked.
"Just promise me."
"Yes Sensei, we promise," the ninja said in unison.

It was dark and Blair was unable to tell where she was or what was happening. "Hello?" she called out but got no reply. Blair took a few cautious steps forward when she heard a noise. "Who is there?"
"Please, do not be afraid," said a soft voice.
In a shaky voice Blair said, "W..who are you? Where are you?"
Blair was then able to see a small floating ball of light; it was about seven feet away from her. As it spoke, it would alternate between growing and getting smaller.
"My name is Hikari, I am who has given you your powers."
"Oh..well..um, thank you?" Blair wasn't quite sure what to say. "Where are we?"
"I have taken you to the my world."
"Your world! Why did you take me here?
"This is the only way that I can speak with you unless you let me help you and your sister."
"My sister? Oh no, don't drag her into this; I don't need anyone's help thank you very much," Blair said very firmly.
Hikari sighed, "Yes, I know. I knew that you would be stubborn but your sister is already 'dragged into this'."
"Is Lydia alright? What did you do to her?"
"Please Blair, calm down. I personally have done nothing to her but Kurai has."
Even though Blair was angry at Lydia for storming off and such, she was still Blair's sister and she worried about Lydia. "Who is Kurai? Tell me everything."
"Once Lydia took the silver knife from the Temple of Darkness, Kurai was able to speak to her. Kurai was who gave Lydia her powers, like how I gave you your powers. Anyway, I am afraid that instead of helping Lydia, he is destroying her and taking control of your sister. Lydia destroyed the silver bow that was in the Temple of Light so I will not be able to speak with you outside of my world."
"Will Lydia be alright?"
"I am afraid I do not know, she is a strong girl, stronger than even you think, but is she strong enough to not let Kurai consume her? We will have to see."
Blair was becoming frustrated with the situation and was ready to cry. "I hate all of these questions and uncertainties. Why don't you just destroy Kurai?"
"I can't. If Kurai is destroyed, Lydia will be as well and there will be no more Master of Darkness, ever."
"Ok, so what should I do?"
"To save Ninjago, you must not let your sister harm a gem called the Taiyo no Doroppu; it is what spreads the light throughout all Ninjago. To save your sister, lead her onto the correct path that is not clouded in darkness. If you need me, I will be here to help when you ask." The light then disappeared leaving Blair alone.
"Wait, what does that mean? Don't go!" Blair shouted.

Blair woke up, sitting straight up and sweating a lot . She breathed heavily as she took in everything that had just happened. She wasn't sure if she could help but she knew what to do now. Hopping from her bed, she was a bit dizzy at first but it quickly passed. Blair ran into the dining room where everyone was eating.
"Blair! You're awake!" Lloyd said as he was the first to see her.
"Yes, yes, I'm awake. Now.."
Blair was cut off by Jay. "How are you? Are you alright?"
Blair wasn't sure why he'd ask that. "Yes, Jay, I'm perfectly fine. Why did you ask?"
Lloyd answered the girl, "Blair, you have been asleep for nearly two days."
"Two days?" Blair was in shock; she thought it had been only hours.
"Yep, two days. So, what happened?" Lloyd asked.
"I met Hikari and I know what we have to do now."
Wow, I must admit that that was challenging. I barely got it done on account on writers block and business, but here it is! If I failed to explain something or you were confused by anything, don't be shy to bring it up because I wouldn't be surprised if I forget to address something.
Thank you everybody who reads this and ZaneLoverFann88 for your review. I know this is super cheesy but I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for all of you.
My best friend out of the ninja would be Jay because: One: he's funny Two: he would be doing the talking because I'm not the biggest talker and Three: he's really sweet. New question is what type of story should I write next? Oh, and have a great Easter! God Bless!
