We Can Work It Out, 2:15
"We can work it out!"
"I don't think so, Derek."
"Casey!"
She sighs. "You know why."
"Try to see it my way."
Her eyes are on fire. "Why is it always your way? Huh? It's not high school any more, Derek. No more 'what Derek wants, Derek gets.' Not here; not with me."
Derek snorts. "You think I don't know that? Come on, Casey. I've put up with you, all this crazy planning stuff… Casey it's been nearly a year."
"I'm your stepsister. You know that!"
"And, you're my girlfriend."
"Not any more; get it through your head!"
He stands up. "What if I don't want to?"
"You must. We must."
"This is because we're going home, right? If you don't want to tell Dad or Nora, I'm okay with that. I'm crazy for you, Casey!"
"No," she sighs, "we're just plain crazy."
"Crazy in love. Come on, Case. You know that I'm not kidding. We can work this thing out."
"We don't even have a thing."
He runs a hand through his hair, messing it up. "Is this because I haven't said I love you?"
"You…" Casey stops pacing, turning to him. "You." She inhales, eyes bugging out. "You…what?"
He steps toward her. One step. Two. Three. His arms surround her. "I love you."
