Acting Captain of the Enterprise, Jamie Tabitha Kirk, sat in the Captain's chair as she looked around at the crew. They were the best crew she'd ever considered. Beyond anything she could have hoped for. Even if she ended up kicked out of the academy she could state she'd captained one of the best crews in the galaxy.
She was proud of them.
And she watched as the excitement buzzed around her. They were finally approaching Earth. Not long left until earth came into view. Then they would be home. Then they would be back at earth.
Two days before Christmas they would finally be back home. She would be with her children. Vera would be with Providence. Bones would be with Joanna. Though, it did make her nervous, knowing that her husband would be joining them. It was something she'd only ever dreamt about in the past; her children finally meeting Spock, meeting their father and finally having him in their life.
Smiling she looked at the people around her. Her crew, the best crew she could have asked for in the universe. If she ever had her own starship again that crew is what she wanted.
Glancing at her husband she saw him working and it was a sight she hoped to one day see regularly.
Her captain, husband as her second command, living and working on a generational ship with the twins and their friends on board.
That's when she heard the alarm and looked up.
On the screen was their big blue world. Earth. Smiling she let out a breath. They were home. Now to see the twins.
