Okay, don't get excited, this is just a follow-up to the story, with a bit more info.

I've received some questions about some points in the story, and I figured I should do this, just to clear things up for anyone else who's wondering.
The questions were from the same person, who was anonymous, so I can't reply directly…

Wait…. How did they get to that planet so fast? Was it the Gem Homeworld?! Why didn't Greg and Connie get captured? How did Amethyst get captured? Sorry, I'm just a bit confused… Good story though.

Firstly, thanks. I'm happy people are enjoying this.

As for your questions, I did actually write about all this, but after deciding the story would have more impact if Steven was going to be remembering the earlier battle, it seemed ridiculous to include stuff he couldn't have witnessed due to being knocked out. So I deleted the now-unnecessary stuff. However, I managed to remember what I had written, for the most part anyway.

Note: There won't be much characterisation here, as I'm mainly going by what I remember writing a week ago…

As Steven dangled limply from the grinning blue Gems' hand, the two gems dropped from his slackened hands.
"Steven!" Connie yelled, raised Rose's sword and rushing forwards, Greg close behind her, his face pale.

Amethyst stared in shock at Chrysoprase as she calmly collected the pieces of Pearl's shattered gem. Numbly, she turned towards Steven, and saw him dangling helplessly, Ruby and Sapphire's gems now in the hand of his assailant. She saw Connie and Greg running for him, sword flashing in the light.

"Stop!" Amethyst yelled, her whip cracked through the air and hit the ground in front of Connie, throwing sand up into her face.
Connie stumbled to a halt, wheezing, and Greg paused to check on her.
"Amethyst, what are you doing?!" he yelled, turning towards her.
The purple Gem lifted her head slightly, and he saw a tear roll down from under her hair, her eyes unseen beneath it. "Go. Just… go. He'd be crushed if he lost you both as well… He just… wouldn't be Steven anymore. So go. Just… run."

Connie, eyes streaming, shook the sand from her face and shuffled forwards, towards Steven, hands blindly groping.
Amethyst felt a twinge of guilt for the girl's pain, but knew what she had to do and raised her whip again. "Do I have to force you?! GO!" she yelled, lifting her face to reveal her eyes filled with tears.
Greg grabbed Connie under his arm and ran.
As he paused to catch his breath and reassure the struggling and crying Connie as she attempted to kick him in the ribs, demanding to go back for Steven, he turned, and watched with horror as Amethyst dropped her whip to the sand, defeated in her misery. It flashed briefly, just once, before it disappeared.

Okay, that's all I can remember… Sorry.

So yeah. Amethyst basically realised that if she's the last one standing, and she'll admit she's usually the first to get poofed, then they are seriously janked. She figured that is they do somehow manage to escape and bring Steven home like last time, it'd be without Pearl. He'd already be devastated to learn that Pearl had been destroyed. If he also had to learn that his father and best friend/crush had been killed or seriously injured trying to save him, he'd never recover. He'd probably age himself to death with guilt. (Like he almost did in 'Too Many Birthdays' when he got depressed…) So, she forced them to leave for his sake, and allowed herself to be captured, so she could explain what happened to Ruby and Sapphire when they returned. Then they'd be able to help her with Steven.

As for the remaining questions, I'll answer them here.

How did they get to that planet so fast?

The ships the Homeworld Gems used can most likely go much faster than anything we or the Crystal Gems could manage. It couldn't have been more than a few months between Steven talking with Peridot in the Kindergarten, and her showing up with Jasper and Lapis.

Also, Ruby, Sapphire and Steven were all unconscious/recovering in their gems for much of the journey. Ruby and Sapphire recovered as the ship was landing/docking on the planet. Ruby, of course, put up a struggle, but stopped out of both concern for Sapphire's safety and confusion over the fact that Amethyst wasn't struggling, and was just walking along meekly. She managed to tell them Pearl was gone shortly before they reached the hallway and were thrown in the new holding cells.

Sapphire didn't consider that Pearl might be destroyed in the battle, as she failed to take into consideration several factors.

Mainly, that she and Ruby would fail and Steven would rush in so blindly to protect them, not considering that Chrysoprase was still standing close by, causing Pearl to then have to leap in to protect him, giving him a chance to run.

Sapphire also didn't consider that Chrysoprase would actually be willing to break them so easily, and thought she'd try to capture them all intact. She thought that if someone did get broken, it'd only because of bad timing/accident/or attempting to give Greg and Connie a chance to escape with Steven. Or on the Homeworld as punishment.

Her Future Vision can only see so far. If she doesn't have all the required details, she can't see all of the possible futures. This was one of the ones that she couldn't have predicted.

Was it the Gem Homeworld?!

Nope. It was merely the nearest Gem-controlled planet, likely the one Lapis flew to before warping back to Homeworld. After all, the Galaxy Warp was out of action, preventing them from taking the more direct route. So it makes sense that they'd have warped to the nearest Gem planet, and taken a ship the rest of the way.

Steven merely thought it was the Homeworld, because for the most part he's still unaware that the Gems (probably) control a vast network of planets they have found/taken over/conquered.

Sure, he's heard random stuff about 'Gem controlled world', 'Gem wars' and 'doing bad things to the planet', but he hasn't really put the pieces together enough to realise that his family really weren't always so nice… And they probably had a role in the fates of other Gem-controlled planets before their rebellion. Pearl's continued attempts to shelter him from the truth isn't helping much…

So really, as far as he's concerned, he most likely believes that the only planets with Gems on them are Earth and the Homeworld. So any world with more than the handful of Gems he knows personally could be the Gem Homeworld to him.

Okay, I hope that helped clear things up.
