Five Years Later

Part 29

Considering the guys all visited Santana at work the previous evening, they thought it would be fun to go and see Rachel at work as well since they both worked in places were conversation was possible. "Did you guys try calling Blaine and Sebastian to see if they could join us this time around?" Nick asked as they all met outside of Morgan's apartment.

"I spoke with Blaine this morning and while Sebastian would be able to join us, Blaine can't." Wes replied before they began to walk. "Musical inspiration hit him this morning so he's nurturing it, plus he has sound check early this afternoon for the show tonight."

"Will Sebastian be joining us then?" Trent asked as he glanced over at Wes.

"He said he would come and join us as when Blaine's working he's in his own little world. Though, he couldn't say how long he'd stay."

"Let me guess, Blaine encouraged him to go?" Jeff said and Wes nodded. "So that's why he won't say how long he'll stay."

"Precisely as you can tell he'd rather be spending time with Blaine."

"As would the rest of us." David said. "At least Blaine promised us all sometime before his show tonight."

"Remember, he's got a lot going on right now." Thad told him. "And we all know Blaine loves spending time with all of us again. But certain priorities come first. Just think, we can all say we were there when Blaine had his first big break."

"True. I didn't mean for it to come out that I was upset as I really do understand. After hearing some of his original works, I'm not one to mess with the process. It's not as though he's not joining us because he doesn't want to see us."

"Exactly." Wes said. "That's why we all need to remember to get there early so we can have some time with him. Also, let's not forget we'll see him when we all come back to town before New Year's as well as after since this isn't a one day layover for any of us."

"Where are some of you staying as I already know Nick's crashing at Morgan's?" Jeff asked as they continued to walk as none of them really wanted to deal with the subway with as crazy as it had been on their way over.

"David and I are crashing at Blaine's place since he'll be at Sebastian's."

"And Trent and I are crashing at Thad's." Beat added after Wes. "As for the rest of the guys that are coming into town, I'd assume they're staying at a hotel."

The conversation continued until they reached the diner and found Sebastian standing out front waiting for them. "Keeping someone waiting in the snow is wrong." Sebastian told them as he looked at them all. "Why the hell were you walking anyhow?" He continued as they headed for the door.

"The subway was a zoo and only the locals were running." Jeff replied. "We decided it was easier to walk than deal with that mess today." Sebastian nodded before saying he understood as he commented on the subway during his trip over. "How is Blaine?"

"He is in his happy, creative bubble." Sebastian told them as they walked inside. "He wanted to join you all but was on a roll which he didn't want to lose."

"So he was still going when you left." Wes said as they waited to be seated and Sebastian nodded once again. "By chance, is Rachel on break?" He asked the hostess who was seating them.

"She's getting something from the back actually. Would you guys like to sit in her section?"

"We would." Sebastian replied since if they were there it would be nice to actually be able to talk with her without taking her away from other customers. They were just taking their seats when Rachel came walking through the door and froze the moment she saw them. One of the girls came up behind her and placed her hands on her shoulders to move her out of the way since a few of the guys were behind them.

"Aren't you the lucky one?" Rachel heard whispered into her ear. "So many attractive guys in one spot."

"They're Blaine's friends."

"Blaine, as in Kurt's ex-husband?"

"That would be him." Rachel replied as she watched the guys remove their coats.

"Please tell me they are single, especially the one with the perfectly styled brown hair."

"Sadly, he's taken as is the blond. And before you think there is a chance of getting him to give you a second look, he wouldn't be into you if you get my drift." When she looked at Rachel, all Rachel could do was nod.

"Why are all the gorgeous ones either taken or gay or both?"

"Don't know what to tell you, but the rest of the guys are single. And they are all really sweet."

"Really?"

"Yes, really. Now, if you don't mind I better get going as I don't want them to get unruly." For some reason the banter with her fellow waitress put Rachel at ease before she headed over. "Well, what do we have here today, aren't we missing a couple?"

"Hunter is out shopping with Kimberly, while Blaine is working on a new song." Sebastian replied. "Plus he has sound check later today."

"Got it!" Rachel then went about doing her job while also talking with the guys, starting off by taking their drink order as they figured out what they were going to eat. When she walked away, a couple of the guys were nudged in their sides by Jeff and Sebastian.

"What the hell was that for?" Thad asked as he looked at Sebastian who'd kicked him in the shin and was smirking much like Jeff was.

"You're all staring at Rachel's ass." Jeff said rather bluntly because of how obvious they all were being. "Not that I blame you though as that little skirt leaves little to the imagination."

"We'll be sure to tell Morgan."

"She won't care. I can look but not touch." Jeff told Thad with a smile just as Rachel was returning with their drinks. After setting them on the table, she was about to take their order when the music started so she set her pad on the table.

The way she instantly became a performer had all the guys smiling. Sebastian took his phone out to record it for Blaine so he didn't feel left out. While she sang and danced with the others they saw her get a bit self-conscious at times as she danced around them. But once she was lying on the back of the booth, that seemed to vanish and soon she was sliding down between Thad and Wes, placing her arms around them both. The flirtatious looks she gave them both caught even Sebastian off-guard as he'd never seen her like this before. So much so, he was going to talk to Blaine about it once he got home as from his point of view as she performed all her walls were finally down.

Just as the guys were finishing up, Sebastian's phone went off with a message from Blaine letting him know he was heading to sound check and that he was more than welcome to swing by. Judging from the smile on Sebastian's face, all of the guys knew the message was from Blaine as that was the only time they ever saw Sebastian this way. While he really hadn't changed, they were all seeing a different part of him now that he was with Blaine. Once he stood all eyes fell upon him. "Should we bother to ask where you are going?" Nick asked as he watched Sebastian put his coat on and drape his scarf around his neck.

"You can ask, though I'm sure you know the answer." Sebastian then pulled his hat out of his pocket. "Jeff, you coming?"

"I have an errand to run, but then I'll be by."

"Does Morgan know or would you like me to tell her?"

"She knows, but thank you."

"Got it! Later guys, I'll see you tonight." After Sebastian left, the guys all looked at one another and soon focus came to Jeff and Thad.

"You guys can give a guy a complex." Jeff said as he grabbed the bill off the table to see how much he owed as Sebastian had tossed his share and then some on the table.

"What's going on between them?" Trent asked causing Jeff to look at Thad.

"Why do you think we know?" Thad replied while taking the check from Jeff.

"You two spend the most time with them aside from Hunter." David said. "So, what are we missing here?"

"Honestly, we don't know as when it comes to the specifics of their relationship, they don't talk about it." Thad told them. "The one thing I'm pretty sure Jeff will agree with me here and that there is no doubt how much they mean to each other." The guys looked at Jeff after Thad spoke and he confirmed what Thad had said. "So if you want to know what's going on, you're going to have to ask them yourselves."

"Then you can tell us." Jeff said with a smile causing them all to laugh. The fact that the two that spent the most time around them aside from Hunter weren't quite sure what was going on, made the rest of them feel a bit better as strange as that may seem. Yet there was no doubt in any of their minds that the relationship with Blaine and Sebastian was changing.

When Sebastian finally arrived at the bar, Blaine and the others were midway through sound check before it opened later on. After he took off his coat, Brad came walking up to him and smiled. "This new stuff is pretty amazing, don't you think?"

"Even though I can only hear the one they are playing, I'd have to agree." Sebastian said as they sat down as to not disturb them. "Where is Stephen?"

"Out having a late lunch with some friends so, he entrusted me to keep an eye on things. You should know that the instant he announced they were playing New Year's Eve, tickets sold-out within the hour." Once he spoke, Sebastian smiled once more. "I told Blaine, but he dismissed that it was because of them."

"That's because B's too modest for his own good. Yet in the long run, that can be a good thing."

"True as we've dealt with quite a few divas that really had no right to act the way they did. I should honestly show you some of the riders Stephen has gotten, they're ridiculous. Little do they realize that behavior like that isn't appreciated, especially so early in one's career. Quite a few of those performers have never played here again. There really is only so much owners are willing to put up with and too often their managers and or agents are worse."

"Has Stephen mentioned what it's like dealing with Vincent as I know B and the band love him?"

"He likes him and thinks Blaine and his band chose wisely. You can tell Vincent is looking out for their best interests and not trying to push them too quickly. He's allowing them to get their feet under them while still expanding their appeal.

"Good, as that's the feel I get from him as well. With everything Blaine had been through up to this point, being pushed too hard could cause him to crash and that's the last thing I'd want to see happen."

"I wouldn't either, Blaine's way too talented and everyone should get to find that out. Hell, Stephen's own staff fights to work the nights Blaine's performing to guarantee they're here as his last few shows have put this place at capacity even with the upper level open." Hearing the way Brad was talking about Blaine, made Sebastian happy that others were appreciating how talented Blaine was. Much like Brad, he couldn't wait till the world could hear Blaine.

Before he could say anything to Brad, they began another song which brought Sebastian's full attention to the stage as it was one he'd heard Blaine dabbling with at home. Then once the lyrics began, Brad realized their conversation was one hold till they were done as it was another original.

I just wanna tell you I love you, but it's the hardest thing to say

I turn my head upside down, trying to find some kinda way

Just to tell you I need you, in a way that will be heard,

I try to be a poet, but since I met you, I've never been good with words

Whenever Blaine truly got into a song during rehearsal, it was one of the cutest things Sebastian could imagine. And much like Rachel had earlier, they were embracing the moment for what it was. Before the song ended, Stephen returned and had snagged his brother to talk while Sebastian finished listening. Once the song ended, Sebastian couldn't help himself but to walk towards the stage as they began to discuss what they'd just played.

"We've got company." Talia said with a smile before pointing between Blaine and Justin. "Why don't we all grab something to drink and give the two of them a minute? Plus you never know Morgan, Jeff might appear soon." Morgan couldn't help but smile as she loved the fact that Jeff was on break as it was allowing them to spend more time together.

While they all made their way off stage, Blaine sat down on the edge of the stage in front of Sebastian. Once he was settled, Sebastian stepped closer and between Blaine's legs. "Interesting choice." He told him as he wrapped his arms around Blaine's waist.

"I've been waiting for the right time to play it. What did you think?"

"I liked it, a lot. You should know, we were both pretty bad with words about how we felt up until we finally admitted how we truly felt. Now that we've said it, telling you that I love you Blaine, feels completely natural."

"I agree." Blaine replied as he wrapped his arms around Sebastian. "I love you Bas." Once he spoke, Blaine leaned in and they began to kiss. As they did so, Morgan and Talia turned to one another as they really didn't mean to eavesdrop, but the stage's acoustics made it hard to not hear. And they didn't venture too far away since Justin and Todd were each on the phone down the hall.

"I knew!" Morgan quietly squealed as they were each smiling. "I bet that's why Blaine was in such a good mood the other day."

"I'd say you're right as that smile crept to his face the instant he saw Sebastian. Our boy is in love."

Considering the way things were going once they got back to rehearsal, Blaine asked Sebastian during one of the breaks if he and Jeff could gather up the guys as he thought they could grab dinner together. While Sebastian questioned it at first knowing Blaine had agreed to spend time before the show with them, Blaine told him he realized it wouldn't be long enough. This way he'd get plenty of time to catch up with them since they'd all agreed to go out that evening since most were heading back to Ohio for Christmas.

Needless to say, the guys all jumped on the invitation since they wanted to spend as much time as they could with Blaine, without pushing him. With the things they'd all been told and had seen, they realized Blaine things needed to go at a pace he was comfortable with. They knew it wasn't that he didn't want to see them, as he stressed that fact each time they got together. It was just going to take him time to get comfortable around everyone again. And Wes reminded them all that part of it might have to do with him being afraid of them asking too many question about what happened during his marriage. Yet they all knew from the little they knew, that was a subject not to touch yet could understand Blaine's hesitation, especially after causally breaching the subject with Sebastian.

When they'd finally left the bar, Blaine glanced up at Sebastian before getting on the subway. The look must have spoken volumes as Sebastian gave his hand a squeeze before answering. "We're going back to my place B." The slight confusion on Blaine's face brought a smile to Sebastian's. "We, starting with Jeff and I. Thought it would be best to hang at my place as it would allow us all to talk about whatever we want. Plus, it wouldn't have you running off to get ready. Do you mind?"

"Not in the slightest. What about dinner though?"

"The guys are bringing it with them as I knew we wouldn't have time to relax as well as cook." With as short of a ride as it was to Sebastian's from the bar, Sebastian was a bit surprised by how tired Blaine looked all of a sudden. Once inside the elevator on the way up, he wrapped an arm around Blaine who immediately curled against him. "Why don't you take a nap once we get in?" Sebastian said a few floors before it opened.

"Maybe."

"B, you need your energy for tonight. The last thing the guys would want is to be responsible for you not having your usual energy on stage tonight." Blaine nodded as he knew Sebastian was right, pushing himself would do more harm than good. So once they were inside, he didn't flinch when after removing their coats, Sebastian walked them straight to the bedroom. "We've got a little more than an hour before the guys get here, so why don't you take a nap?"

"Will you join me?" Blaine asked as he looked up at Sebastian once they were beside the bed.

"If that's what you want, I will."

"I do." Blaine then stretched to give Sebastian a kiss before sitting down to remove his shoes and getting comfortable in the bed. As Blaine got comfortable, Sebastian set an alarm on his phone as the last thing he wanted was for them both to be asleep when the guys arrived. He was taking off his shoes when he saw Blaine's eyes begin to flutter as he watched him. It seemed as though the moment Blaine laid down, it hit him how tired he was. Before joining Blaine, Sebastian grabbed the throw blanket off the chair to toss over them as he knew Blaine loved being covered up when he napped. Once the blanket was over them and Sebastian's arm was around him, it wasn't long till Blaine fell asleep.

Even with as comfortable as Sebastian was curled up next to him, he wasn't even the slightest bit tired so he just watched as Blaine slept. It was in moments like this that he couldn't help but take in how long Blaine's lashes were and the way they fanned out when he closed his eyes. Or the cute little pout his lips would form. Never had Sebastian ever understand how people could say they enjoyed watching someone sleep, yet he now did. Considering the things he knew Blaine had been through in his life, he loved seeing how peaceful he looked when he slept. For the most part, Blaine had accepted everything that had happened to him, so much that most would have no clue. Yet there were always those moments you could tell he'd been through quite a lot in his young life.

When his alarm went off, Sebastian carefully made his way out of the bed but let Blaine sleep as he didn't plan on waking him till he had too. After walking out of the room, he took his phone from his pocket and sent a text to Thad to ask approximately when they were going to get there so he knew how much more time Blaine had to sleep even though they'd set time prior. Once that was done, Sebastian sat down on the couch and smiled as it was clear Blaine was still working when he left as the keyboard, laptop, and his notebook were all still in the same place.

In the time since they'd gotten together, it really didn't take them long to get comfortable in each other's homes. Something that was mentioned to both of them on numerous occasions as they both had things they left at each other's places. The first time Thad had come by after Blaine had spent a long weekend with Sebastian, he couldn't help but tease Sebastian as he was folding laundry and it was clear it wasn't all his. So when Sebastian opened a dresser drawer to put things away, Thad smiled when he realized the draw held quite a bit of clothing that belong to Blaine. Then he got Sebastian talking and he admitted they both had drawers of clothes at one another's home.

Sebastian was brought out of his daze by his phone going off with a message from Thad letting him know they'd be there in about a half-hour as they'd just placed the food order. Now that he knew how much time he had, Sebastian made his way back into his room where Blaine hadn't even moved from what he could tell. Yet once he wrapped his arm back around him, Blaine turned his head towards him. "You came back." Blaine said softly as he wrapped Sebastian's arm tighter around him.

"I only left to make sure the place was presentable before everyone arrived." Sebastian then pressed a kiss to Blaine's temple. "And it is, so I came back. By the way, you have about thirty minutes till the guys get here."

"But…my stuff is still set-up." Blaine's voice was still heavy with sleep as Sebastian interlaced his fingers with Blaine's. "I'll…"

"You're not going anywhere." Sebastian whispered into his ear. "It's set-up as you were working B, the guys won't mind."

"But…"

"You're staying put B." Even with as set on moving it as Blaine seemed, he didn't say another word, just stayed curled up in Sebastian's arms. They were still lying in bed when Sebastian's phone went off once more with a text from Jeff letting him know they were in the lobby. "Time to get up B." Sebastian then kissed Blaine on the cheek and was surprised when Blaine turned to look at him. "You were up?"

"I've been slowly waking since you returned. Are they here?"

"They should be up soon." With that response, they let go of one another and slowly got up. While Sebastian stretched, Blaine sat on the edge of the bed, slowly composing himself. "Do you feel better?"

"I do." Blaine said as he stood. "Do you know what they're bringing?"

"Not a clue, but we'll soon find out." The words had just left his mouth when the doorbell rang sending them both on their way. "By the way, don't even think of moving your stuff B." When Blaine looked up at him, Sebastian winked before heading down the hallway to get the door. There was no question once the door was opened, as Blaine could hear the guys immediately and they all seemed to be in a good mood.

The moment they reached the family room, it wasn't long till Blaine was surrounded and they were all hugging him. Seeing that Blaine was alright, Sebastian and Thad headed for the kitchen to get everything set as well as get plates and anything else they needed. "I think they missed him more than they'll admit." Thad said as he grabbed glasses out of the cabinet.

"Oh, I know they have as Wes mentioned it to me." Sebastian said. "It seems they feel a bit left out that a few of us get to spend so much time with him."

"The rest of us, I could understand, but not you considering you're Blaine's boyfriend." Thad then went into the bag and pulled out an envelope. "That's for you but I was supposed to tell you not to read it around Blaine." Sebastian immediately raised his eyebrow as he took it from Thad. "It's from Hunter. He said you need to read it."

"Did he say what it was about?"

"No just that the sooner you read it, the better. And he was rather adamant about it." While Thad spoke, Wes came walking into the kitchen followed by Jeff. "Are you getting impatient?" He asked upon noticing them.

"Not really. Trent is taking Blaine's ear off." Wes said with a smile. "It seems that one of his friends went to one of Blaine's shows and freaked upon learning Trent has known Blaine since he was a teenager." Sebastian and Thad smiled as they both knew how enthusiastic Trent could get when telling a story.

"Don't worry, Nick said he'd rein him in if it looked as though it was too much for Blaine." Jeff added. "Do you guys need any help?"

"We're good." Sebastian told them as he set the envelope on the counter. "I thought setting up in here was easier since B has his equipment set up in the living room." They both nodded as they saw Blaine's little set-up. "So, why don't you tell everyone to come and help themselves as I have something I need to put away?"

"Got it!" Jeff replied before leaving the kitchen leaving Wes with Thad and Sebastian.

"Is everything alright Sebastian?"

"Yea, I'll be right back." Once he walked out of the kitchen, Wes looked at Thad. Yet after a moment he realized Thad wouldn't say a word as he remembered the tone of Thad's voice prior to him and Jeff entering the kitchen.

So while everyone was preparing their plates and getting something to drink, Sebastian was standing in his office staring at the envelope. While he was told not to read it with Blaine around, he knew he had a few minutes as they were all fixing their plates. And that Blaine would at least give him a few minutes before coming to look for him. So he carefully opened the envelope and was surprised by to find not only a note from Hunter but quite a bit of paper work and photos.

It seemed that after their previous conversation after Blaine disclosed everything that happened during his marriage to Sebastian, Hunter decided to do a bit of research on Kurt. And it seemed that the private investigator Hunter hired was extremely good as he found some rather interesting information on Kurt from back when he was married to Blaine. Information that Sebastian was pretty certain if Blaine knew he'd be shocked. After seeing this, he quickly put everything back into the envelope and put it into the filing cabinet so he could read it later.
