Five Years Later

Part 32

It was only a couple days later when Rachel heard a knock on the loft door. Normally she was always happy whenever someone came by, but recently that had begun to change. Yet once she reached the door, she couldn't stop herself from smiling as Sam scooped her up in his arms and spun her around. "That better not be that pain in the…" Santana didn't finish speaking as she laid eyes on Sam just as he was setting Rachel back down so she could close the door. "Now this is the type of guest I like seeing." She said before wrapping her arms around him and much like he did to Rachel, Sam picked her up and spun her around. "It's good to see you."

"Good, as I'm here for a while." Sam replied before grabbing his bag so they could all get comfortable. "And how are some of my favorite girls doing?" He asked before setting his bag beside the couch prior to them all taking a seat.

"We're doing well." Rachel replied as she looked at him as he'd sat in the middle so the girls were on either side of him. "And keeping busy."

"Then what was with Santana's comment?"

"Kurt has this tendency to swing-by without calling and it annoys the hell out of me as no matter the initial reason for his visit, it turns to Blaine lately."

"Speaking of, how is he?"

"Deliriously happy." Rachel replied with a smile. "Right Santana?"

"She would be correct, he's in a good place Sam." Santana said as she tucked her feet beneath her. "It's really good to see."

"So that chipper voice isn't an act that I hear on the phone?" Sam asked and both girls shook their heads. "Now, is it because of Sebastian or because of his career beginning to take hold?"

"I'd say both, but you also have to include having the guys back in his life." Rachel told him. "It's everything, plus, he's in love." Those last words certainly caught Sam's attention as he wasn't sure if Blaine would ever allow himself to fall in love again after everything that's happened. "And it goes both ways as Sebastian loves him as well."

"Hell, Mr. Grab-ass is the one that said it first in front of everyone."

"But they wouldn't tell us who said it first." Rachel added. "Not that it really matters, but we still asked." Sam couldn't help but smile as that was certainly a Rachel thing to ask.

"How are the Warblers taking it?"

"To quote Thad, it's about time."

"She's right, you can tell they all knew." Santana said. "It was just a matter of time for them to say it to one another and for everyone else to know."

"Now for the buzz kill question, does Kurt know they're together yet?" Sam asked and both girls shook their heads. "It's probably better that way considering his feelings about Sebastian. Do you know if I'll be able to see Blaine before his show?"

"We're all actually going out to dinner with him and Sebastian tonight." Rachel replied. "We'd thought of doing lunch but Blaine's in rehearsals."

"Like usual." Santana said with a laugh. "He can usually be found either there, school, or with Sebastian at one of their places. It's crazy, even with everything that's going on in his life he's really relaxed and happy."

"That's all I ever wanted for him." Sam told them as he stretched, happy to hear that things were going well for Blaine.

"That's all any of us wanted." Rachel added. "As through the divorce, I wasn't sure it was ever going to happen."

"But it has. So, what's going on with you two, are you seeing anyone?"

"Santana's seeing someone." Rachel said with a smile causing Santana to look at her. "You are."

"Is this true?" Sam asked as he could see Santana squirm a bit.

"Yes, her name is Jordan."

"And how did you meet her?"

"At a party thrown by Thad and she's actually a good friend of Blaine's drummer, Todd."

"She hot?"

"What do you think Evans?"

"She's hot."

"Damn right she is and you'll actually be seeing her at Blaine's show."

"Not before then?"

"It depends on her work schedule."

"Cool. Rach?"

"I'm…I'm not seeing anyone." Rachel replied as Sam's attention was now on her.

"But she's interested in someone." Santana said with a smile.

"And who is this lucky guy?"

"It's not important."

"Come on Rach; tell him as I'm sure Sam will tell you the same thing I did in that you should let him know."

"He's not interested in me."

"How do you know?" Sam asked. "I mean, I take it you know the guy and he's not some random dude. So, you probably talk or spend time with him." Rachel then leaned over and looked at Santana who was smiling. "Just tell me or you know Santana will as soon as you leave the room."

"He's got a point as I believe you should go for it."

"Fine, it's Thad."

"Why does that name sound familiar aside from that fact that Santana said she met her girl at a party thrown by him?" Sam asked as he looked between the girls.

"It's Thad Harwood, one of Blaine's friends from Dalton, he was a Warbler." Santana said. "But Rachel doesn't think he'd give her a second look beyond being friends. Yet if you ever saw the two of them dance, you'd think otherwise." While Santana spoke, Sam kept an eye on Rachel who seemed to get rather quiet, yet a smile crept across her face. For all the times he'd come to New York after Blaine and Kurt had gotten married, he hadn't seen her behavior in this manner. It was pretty obvious to even him that her attraction to Thad was more than a passing interest. "So, now that you know he's one of Blaine's friends, do you think she should give it a shot?"

"I want to meet him first, but if he's one of Blaine's friends I can't see why she shouldn't. Does Blaine know?" Rachel shook her head. "You should tell him, if anyone can fill you in, it's him."

"Actually, Sebastian would be the better one to ask as Thad is one of his best friends." Santana said. "Remember, Blaine's been away from the guys for awhile though if you see them all together you wouldn't realize it."

"Okay, now I can see why you might be a bit hesitant even though you're relationship with him is better. Are the guys going to be at Blaine's show?"

"All of them actually." Rachel replied. "Even a few that are seeing him for the first time like you as they're coming into town specifically to see him perform." While Rachel spoke, there was a knock at the loft door causing them both to shake their heads. "You've got to be kidding me."

"Are you really surprised after the stunt he pulled on Christmas Eve if it is him?" Santana said.

"He called Blaine again?" Sam asked as he got up off the couch and the girls replied in the affirmative. "What did Blaine say to him?"

"Blaine didn't talk to him, Sebastian did yet Kurt doesn't know it was him." Sam couldn't help but laugh knowing that and wondered what Sebastian could've possibly said to him. Once he reached the door, he looked over his shoulder as the girls were watching him. "Time to have some fun as I have a feeling I'm the last person he'd expect to see." With that, Sam unlocked and pulled open the door.

"We need to talk." Kurt said not noticing that one of the girls didn't open it.

"Do we now?" Sam replied as he leaned against the wall, blocking the entrance to the loft. "As I can't think of anything you and I could possibly discuss."

"What are you doing here?" Kurt asked as he tried to look around Sam and into the loft. "Where's Rachel?"

"No love for Santana, that's rude considering she lives here too."

"What are you doing here Sam?" Sam couldn't help but smiled upon hearing the frustration in Kurt's voice as he spoke. While everyone else had remained neutral during the divorce, Sam made it clear he was on Blaine's side which somehow surprised Kurt even though Sam had been Blaine's best man. Even though he'd been expecting it, it was nice to know his instincts were correct.

"I'm here for a visit, but that should be obvious as it's too far to come just for coffee.

"Let me guess, you're in town to see Blaine."

"Does it matter why I'm in town?" Since Sam's attention was on Kurt he didn't hear the girls come walking up behind him. "Why are you here as I know you weren't invited?"

"I need to speak with Rachel."

"What about this time?" Rachel asked as Santana opened the door a bit further so the two of them could see Kurt. "And it better not be Blaine."

"It's not really, though it does concern him."

"You mean like the fact that you called him and ended up speaking to someone else." Santana said as she crossed her arms.

"How do you know about that?"

"Blaine told us you tried calling him again, much as you did last year." Rachel replied. "Why can't you leave him alone during the holidays?"

"I…I missed him and only wanted to wish him a Merry Christmas, but instead I got to speak to who I can presume was his boyfriend. And let me tell you, he was beyond rude."

"It was." Santana told him while trying to refrain from smiling since she could only imagine what Sebastian had said to him. Yet, she knew it couldn't have been too bad since Blaine was right next to him the entire time. "But the fact that Blaine was spending the holidays with him shouldn't be too surprising. It's what people do when they are in a relationship and Blaine's certainly in one. Leave him the hell alone Kurt as he wants nothing to do with you. I'm sure that's what his boyfriend told you as well."

"She's right Kurt, he doesn't." Sam said. "Blaine's moved on and is finally happy with his life once again."

"Kurt, I think it's best if you leave." Rachel told him as she made her way in front of Sam. "And I really think you need to start calling before you come by."

"Alright." Kurt replied before glaring at Santana. "Happy now?"

"Only if you follow through." Santana told him before reaching for the door handle. "Bye!" Before another word was uttered, she closed the door. But once it was shut they could all hear how frustrated Kurt was on the other side. "I'd say that went well." Santana then hooked her arms through Sam and Rachel's. "Now let's go get you set so we can go have some fun before meeting up with Blaine and his boy!" When they both looked at her, Santana smiled. "I didn't want to risk him still being outside the door and hearing." Sam and Rachel both nodded as it wouldn't surprise them if Kurt had hung around hoping to hear what they said after she closed the door.

While they were dealing with Kurt, Sebastian and Jeff were coming back with lunch for everyone else as they really didn't want to take a break from rehearsing as they were on a roll. The earlier part of the day was spent with everyone talking about their holidays, but once that was done they all got to work. Though, there was a brief pause when Blaine took out his newest toy and the color combination didn't go unnoticed by Jeff. "Do you know when the rest of the guys are coming into town?" Sebastian asked as they headed up the stairs. "I mean, aside from Wes and David since I know when they are coming as they're staying at B's place."

"Nick gets into town tonight and the rest of them are coming in tomorrow." Jeff replied. "Hopefully, Blaine's schedule isn't too crazy as they'd like to actually get to spend time with him aside from after his performance."

"That shouldn't be a problem as I know he wants to spend time with them as well." Sebastian told him. "Just know, don't expect us to join you guys tonight for dinner as Sam got into town and we're going to dinner with him and girls."

"You seem to be happy about it."

"I am. Things are so different from last time. We're not worrying about whether or not they approve or if they're going to give us a hard time about being together. The girls are happy for us, as is Sam." Sebastian was still speaking when they came walking into the room and was surprised to see them all surrounding Blaine's laptop. "And here we were worried about trying to get you to stop to eat."

"We figured you'd be back soon so we stopped after the last number." Talia replied as Blaine was speaking with Justin about something on the screen. With the two of them talking, the others went to help Jeff and Sebastian set everything out as they were all starving. "By the way Sebastian, excellent gift for Blaine as it sounds incredible."

"Thank you, but I only bought it; he had his eye on it."

"Still, good call." Morgan said before giving Jeff a kiss. "I'm sure you knew you were taking a chance buying him something so expensive."

"That's something I was fully aware of." Sebastian told her. "Are you almost done Killer as the food is going to get cold?"

"One sec." When Sebastian shook his head, Todd looked at him.

"What?"

"Are you really surprised that he won't drop what they're talking about because food arrived?" Todd said as they all began fixing their plates.

"No, but I just wanted him to know it's getting cold. Light a little fire under that perfect ass of his."

"I heard that." Blaine replied as he and Justin came walking over. Once they grabbed their food, Blaine kissed Sebastian on the cheek before sitting down beside him. "We were going over the changes in the next number. Also while you two were out, Vincent came by and let us know we need to head over to the office tomorrow morning so we've pushed rehearsal back."

"Got it." Sebastian replied. "Now, do you guys get to choose the songs you're going to do in the studio or is Vincent choosing them?" Jeff looked at Sebastian and smiled as he was rather curious of that fact as well.

"There are a few he's told us we're doing but after that, it's all our choice." Blaine replied. "But the songs he picked are ones we would've probably chosen so it's not a big deal."

"And if you're curious, we're doing two covers and the rest are originals including one of your favorites Sebastian." Morgan added. "But you'll love the two covers as they are Warbler related." Sebastian immediately looked at Jeff who proceeded to look at Blaine who only smiled as he was chewing.

"Are they the two I'm thinking of B?" Blaine nodded which made Sebastian smile.

"I thought you'd like that." Blaine finally said once he swallowed. "Now, are the two of you going to hang around here for the rest of rehearsal or are you going to head out?"

"All depends on when you think you'll be done." Sebastian told him. "But the two of us actually enjoy listening to you guys so we're in no rush to leave."

"That is, unless you want us too." Jeff added. "We don't want to overstay our welcome."

"You guys are fine." Todd told them knowing they'd think Morgan or Blaine were only being polite. "We like having you around as it gives us someone outside the five of us to bounce ideas off of. You're more help than you might realize."

"Not to mention, who knows where we'd be if Sebastian didn't start going through Blaine's stash of songs." Justin told them. "It's certainly kept us busy as not all of them had arrangements, while some only had either piano or guitar which we had to expand from."

"You still need to thank B as he's the one that allowed me to go through them."

"Yet, you took the interest in them Bas which is why I did. You weren't doing it just to do it, you did it because you were interested and wanted too." Blaine told him before giving him a kiss. "That meant more to me that you probably realize." In that moment, Sebastian's expression changed to something Blaine didn't quite recognize. Yet if he had to guess, his rather confident boyfriend was having a moment of modesty. No matter what had happened with Blaine's music since they'd been together, he'd always been reluctant to accept any credit for anything that had happened. In Sebastian's mind, it was all Blaine and the only thing he did was believe in him and get him to believe in himself again.

Throughout lunch, Jeff could only smile as it was nice seeing a different part of Sebastian and that part was essentially only for Blaine. Not that Jeff would blame him, as he was pretty sure he was different when Morgan was around as well. Heck, he was certain of it as Nick as well as Thad had called him out on it numerous times. And while Sebastian hadn't changed, it was nice seeing a softer side to him a bit more often.

By the time they finished with rehearsal that day Blaine was in a rather good mood as the new numbers they'd begun to work on were certainly coming along nicely. And the last number was certainly one he was most pleased with as Talia had put the arrangement together from one of the songs Blaine had written back in high school. Little did they all realize, but the inspiration for it was actually sitting there the entire time. While Blaine had written a song specifically about Sebastian after they got together, the last one they played was certainly inspired by him and how he felt the first time he saw him.

During their trip to Blaine's as he wanted to make sure his apartment was ready for Wes, and David, Sebastian noticed that something seemed to be on Blaine's mind. "You know, if you want to talk, I'm here." Sebastian said softly as he took ahold of Blaine's hand. "You don't have to take on the world alone anymore." When Blaine still didn't respond, Sebastian stopped in his steps causing Blaine to look up at him. "What's going on B?"

"Is it okay if we wait to talk inside?" Blaine asked as they were around the corner from his building. "And before you worry, it's nothing to do with us, its music related." Whether he thought he needed to hear it or not, Sebastian let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding upon hearing Blaine's words.

"Of course." Sebastian said with a squeeze of Blaine's hand as they started to walk once again. Knowing that rehearsal went well since he was there, Sebastian quickly presumed it had to do with either their meeting the next day or their upcoming studio sessions. In his mind it was reasonable as everything was beginning to happen rather quickly for them. Once they were inside the building, it wasn't much longer till they were upstairs and inside of Blaine's apartment. Sebastian didn't say a word, just followed Blaine down the hall towards his bedroom.

They barely crossed the threshold when Blaine pulled Sebastian towards him and they went tumbling onto the bed. "You don't mind, do you?" Blaine said playfully as he looked at Sebastian who was bracing himself above him.

"You know I never mind getting into bed with you. But I thought we were going to talk."

"Are you saying I can't distract you with sex?" Blaine stated as he ran his hands down Sebastian's back till he could get a firm hold of his ass.

"Not in this case." Sebastian told him before leaning down to give him a kiss. "But you can certainly distract me once we're done." While he spoke, Sebastian managed to roll them over causing Blaine to move his hands as Sebastian held him close against him. "Now, what was going through that head of yours on the way here B?"

"Remember how I said it was music related?" Sebastian nodded. "Well, it is but it isn't if that makes sense. You see, one of the things we have to do coming up is a photo shoot and…I'm really uncomfortable in front of a camera. I always seem to have the most ridiculous expressions on my face when someone tells me to smile. It tends to look forced and never natural." Sebastian listened as Blaine spoke, and soon an idea came to mind as it was clear Blaine was worried. "And I end up looking like an idiot."

"Let me shoot you."

"Excuse me?"

"Let me shoot you B. Maybe with me behind the camera, you'll get more comfortable." While he spoke, Sebastian released his hold a bit and moved his one hand to Blaine's cheek to caress it. "I believe you told me I have a great eye and well, I've wanted to take pictures of you for quite some time. And you can't tell me that the pictures we've taken of the two of us together haven't been good."

"That's us Bas, it's different."

"You said you're not comfortable in front of a camera, yet those pictures prove different."

"You were with me."

"And I'd still be there Killer; I'd just be taking them of you."

"It's still different as you won't be shooting them that day."

"True, but I can help you relax." Sebastian told him. "Become more comfortable. Then you never know." Before saying anything else, Blaine saw the mischievous look on Sebastian's face.

"No."

"All I said was you never know, you have no idea what I was referring to Killer. Yours is the mind that went straight to the gutter."

"That's because the look on your face sent it there."

"Fine, that was what I was thinking but can you blame me as I think you're gorgeous."

"Bas."

"It's true and I wouldn't mind having something to look at when you're not around." When Blaine began to blush rather obviously, Sebastian leaned down and kissed him. No matter how many times Sebastian had complimented him, it was still hard for him to accept the compliments as Sebastian saw him in a way he didn't see himself. "What is it B?"

"I love you."

"I love you too." Sebastian replied before leaning down for a quick peck. "But I thought we'd established that already." The smile that graced Sebastian's face managed to put Blaine more at ease of that was possible. "Yet, I'll never object to hearing it."

"Me either." Blaine told him as he ran his hands over Sebastian's back. "So why'd you say what you did?"

"The look on your face led me to believe something else was going through that head of yours as well."

"It's just…sometimes I can't believe the way you look at me and I'm not talking about when you're horny."

"Nice to know you notice how I look at you all the other times as well." Sebastian replied. "But believe it Blaine as you're perfect to me. You're sweet, talented, smart, and gorgeous. You're the complete package. And while I know no one is perfect, you're pretty darn close in my eyes." When Blaine began to blush again, Sebastian smiled. "I forgot one thing; you're whole bashful school boy thing, super-hot."

"You're incredible Bas."

"Why thank you."

"So modest."

"Would you expect anything else Killer?"

"No, and I wouldn't want you any other way than you are as you're perfect to me too." When Sebastian cocked an eyebrow, Blaine smiled. "It's true. Now how about we have some fun?"

"Gladly."
