Five Years Later

Part 49

Between working on arrangements with Talia and their performances that weekend, Blaine was thankful that he and Sebastian were able to work so well around one another. For one another they were what helped ground the other even with everything that was happening around them. More than once when Blaine was working on arrangements or lyrics while they were together, he was reminded of how hard Sebastian studied. Even with as engrossed in his music as he became, Sebastian got the same look in his eyes while studying.

The more he'd see, he had no doubt that Sebastian was going to make one hell of a lawyer once he was done. Not only did Sebastian have the smarts, but he had a way with words that still often surprised him. And whichever form of law Sebastian choice to pursue in the long run, Blaine pitied anyone who would oppose him as Sebastian was going to be a force to be reckoned with.

"Penny for your thoughts." Blaine's head snapped towards the opposing end of the couch to Sebastian who had his glasses placed on top of his head and his book in his lap at the sound of Sebastian's voice. "B, what were you thinking about?"

"What makes you think that?" Blaine asked as he turned to face him fully. "Maybe I was zoning out like I usually do when I work."

"Your lips."

"Excuse me?"

"You get this one particular pout when you're thinking."

"No I don't."

"You most certainly do Killer. So, what were you thinking about?"

"You."

"What about me?" Sebastian asked as he set his book aside and then his glasses. "Were you having naughty thoughts as I'd be more than willing to take a break to indulge in your naughty side?" While he spoke, Sebastian scooted closer to Blaine till his legs were on either side of him.

"Tempting as that would be, I wasn't having naughty thoughts, at least in that moment." Blaine told him as he took his hands in his. "I was actually thinking about how focused you are on your studies and what an incredible lawyer you're going to be."

"Is that so?"

"It is. You can see it in your eyes Bas."

"That means a lot Blaine, thank you."

"It's true. I have as much belief in you, as you do in me Sebastian."

"Then we're next to unstoppable as I believe only the sky is the limit for you." Sebastian said before leaning in to kiss Blaine softly on the lips. Once he pulled away, he couldn't help but notice the smile on Blaine's face. "It's true Killer." While he spoke, Blaine felt Sebastian's hand caress his cheek. "Now, what about those naughty thoughts you were having?" When Blaine let out a soft laugh, Sebastian smiled. "So?"

"Don't you have more studying to do?"

"A bit, but as I said, I have no problems taking a break."

"Tempting as that might be, finish studying and then I'll tell you as this weekend is going to be crazy. And if we give into what I was thinking, you wouldn't get back to it." Between the words and the look on Blaine's face, Sebastian felt an immediate jolt shoot through his body. And try as he might to have hidden it, Blaine noticed. "Study?"

"Yes." Sebastian replied before leaning in for another kiss. "But one question." Blaine nodded while squeezing his hands. "This doesn't mean we're not having sex while the parents are in town, does it?"

"Absolutely not." Blaine said before leaning in for a kiss. "I'll be waiting in the bedroom for you. Just promise me you'll get your studying done."

"I will as your right, this weekend is going to be crazy as we won't have our usual downtime and the same goes for next weekend. It shouldn't be more than an hour."

"Then I will see you in an hour." Blaine then gave him one more kiss before getting up off the couch and moving his stuff of to the side before retreating to his bedroom to wait for Sebastian. Once he reached his room, it didn't take Blaine long to undress and get comfortable. Knowing he had at least an hour to wait, he thought about what he was going to do before. Just as he was about to reach for his tablet, his phone went off beside him. Considering the hour, Blaine was wondering who it could be yet one glance at the phone and he saw it was his Mom. "Hey Mom, what can I do for you?"

"I'm not calling at a bad time, am I?"

"Not in the slightest, why, is everything alright?"

"Everything is fine. I thought you'd want to know that your Dad and I are settled in our hotel and can't wait to see you and Sebastian tomorrow." Once she spoke, he looked at the clock again as he'd forgotten what time they were arriving. "Blaine?"

"Sorry Mom. How was your flight in?" Blaine responded as he sat up in bed a bit and putting another pillow behind him.

"Quiet which was appreciated as your Dad had a long day. A weekend away is just what he needed and seeing you, hearing you, as well as meeting that charming boyfriend of yours is exactly what we both need."

"Charming?" Blaine asked surprised at his Mom's choice of words.

"Yes, charming why did you sound so surprised, is he not like that all the time?"

"No, Bas is most certainly charming all the time. I just wasn't sure those charms affected anyone else."

"Well, I'm sure they affect you differently dear."

"Mom!" When he heard his Mom laugh at his response, Blaine could feel his cheeks getting redder. And during that time he heard her tell his Dad what made her laugh which got him laughing. "I walked right into that didn't I?"

"You did. Just be happy it was me and not Cooper or your Dad as they wouldn't let you forget it for quite some time."

"Yet you told Dad."

"He was curious what was so funny."

"And?"

"He thinks it's cute that I was able to fluster you in this way. Said it proves how happy Sebastian makes you. Speaking of you both, how are you?"

"We're doing really well. Right now he's studying."

"So, you're not together this evening?"

"No, we are. And before you ask, this conversation isn't disturbing him as he's in the living room finishing up before we call it a night." No sooner did the words leave his mouth, Blaine couldn't believe he'd said that to his Mom of all people. Yet she didn't react. "Now, what are yours and Dad's plans for tomorrow while I'm at school?"

"We're meeting friends for lunch and from there we'll play it by ear." While she spoke, Blaine could hear his Dad in the background and soon the phone was changing hands.

"Hey Blaine."

"Hi Dad. Enjoying your getaway?"

"So far. How are you?"

"Really good. Now what is it you wanted to ask me from what I heard you talking to Mom?"

"I was curious about how we needed to dress tomorrow night. While I know we're going to dinner and that's easy, I'm talking about for your show."

"While it's clearly going to be more laid back than dinner, it's up to you. But if you gave me your jacket from dinner, you'd be fine once you loosen your tie."

"Are you sure as we really don't want to stick out?"

"I'm positive, plus it's not as though Bas won't be dressed in a similar manner to you and Mom."

"And you?"

"I'm bringing a change of clothes with me to class tomorrow for Morgan to bring to the venue."

"Morgan is Jeff Sterling's girlfriend as well as your bass player, correct?"

"That would be correct. I should let you know and you can tell Mom, you're going to see a lot of people you know tomorrow night."

"Your friends from Dalton?"

"Yes, but also a few from McKinley." Once he spoke, Blaine heard what sounded like a sigh from his Dad. "They were my friends too Dad. Trust me, with what has happened if they weren't, they wouldn't still be around."

"If that ex of yours shows his head, I'll…"

"Relax Dad, as there are people making sure Kurt gets nowhere near me. I just wish the same could be said for keeping him away for everyone I care about." This time, it was his Dad hearing Blaine sigh once he spoke.

"How are you and Sebastian handling everything?"

"We're trying to just ignore him, but I still get frustrated. Meanwhile, Bas would love to verbal tear him to pieces for what he did to me. But, it's not affecting our relationship in a bad way. If anything, it's reinforcing how much we care for one another as we're both more concerned about how it's affecting one another."

"And that's something Kurt would never understand Blaine as he never put your feelings ahead of his own."

"Yet he calls Bas selfish." When his Dad laughed, Blaine couldn't stop the smile that crept to his face. Even though they'd only spoken during Skype calls, his Dad already had a fonder appreciation of Sebastian than he ever had of Kurt. "You really can't wait to meet him, can you Dad?"

"Not really." His Dad told him. "Blaine, your Mom and I were truly afraid we were never going to see you embracing life again. Then whatever happened that spurred you to go see Sebastian, as well as let your friends back into your life again, that changed." While his Dad spoke, Blaine thought back to that moment that spurred him to go to Sebastian and it was something no one was ever going to know about besides the two of them. "You're full of life again. Not to mention, you're embracing a dream you'd almost given up on."

"That's because of Bas, Dad. He got me to believe in myself again after everything."

"I guess that's just one more thing your Mom and I have to thank him for."

"And what else do you plan on thanking him for?"

"For the impression he made on Cooper." Once his Dad spoke Blaine's eyebrow raised as he wasn't quite sure where his Dad was going but he was certainly intrigued. "I know you can Cooper haven't always had the best relationship and that's partly our fault, but at no time did we ever doubt the two of you loved one another."

"That's true. Now, what did Bas do exactly as that whole moment is still a bit of a blur for me?" Blaine asked.

"He was himself honestly." His Dad told him. "Cooper loved the fact that Sebastian didn't put on a façade in front of him. Not to mention the way he spoke about you to Cooper."

"Oh, you mean the fact he didn't fall all over him like Kurt did."

"Precisely. Cooper told us that even in that short amount of time he spent with you two he could tell how much Sebastian cared for you. And then once we got to have that first brief talk with him, we could see it too." The smile that crept to his face was impossible to stop because the thought of Cooper talking up Sebastian that way to their parents meant the world to him.

"Could you and Mom do me a favor tomorrow night Dad?"

"Sure, what would you like for us to do?"

"Try not to embarrassment. I'm not saying that to be mean, it's just…"

"I know, your Mom tends to ramble when she gets happy and well, that's something she certainly is right now. And I tend to prod a bit too much with my questions. But after what happened, do you blame me?"

"I don't, just go with the flow of the night, that's all I'm asking as I don't know how Bas is going to be as he's pretty nervous about meeting you guys."

"Would it make you feel any better to know your Mom and I are nervous as well?"

"Why?"

"Considering how poor our relationship with Kurt was we know that added stress to your life that you didn't need. And we don't want that to be an issue again."

"Dad, that poor relationship was because neither of you liked one another it wasn't all on you and Mom. He didn't try. At least you and Mom tried to be cordial around him regardless of how you felt."

"The only thing we've ever wanted for you Blaine is to be happy."

"I know." Just as Blaine responded, he spotted Sebastian leaning against the doorframe of the bedroom. After motioning for him to come in, Sebastian tilted his head, as he was unsure as he didn't want to intrude yet Blaine motioned once again. "And that means the world to me considering everything that's happened." While Blaine spoke, Sebastian lied down in bed next to him, resting his head on Blaine's chest.

"What happened wasn't your fault Blaine. You were young and in love, and in that moment you can't even comprehend things can take the turn they did. Hell, your Mom and I never thought they'd turn the way they did." Once he spoke, Blaine mumbled softly yet not quietly enough for his Dad not to hear. "Blaine, what did you say?"

"Honestly, if you only knew how bad it was."

"I wish you'd tell me as not knowing is probably worse than knowing."

"Probably not."

"Blaine."

"Dad, can we not do this right now as Bas is done studying?"

"Of course. Just know that when you're ready to talk, I'm here for you."

"I know."

"Do you want to speak to your Mom again before we hang-up?"

"No, that's alright. I love you guys."

"I know, we love you too kiddo. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Night."

"Night Dad." After ending the call, Blaine set his phone back on the nightstand before wrapping his arms tightly around Sebastian. "You should know their as nervous to meet you as you are to meet them."

"I doubt that." Sebastian replied as he ran his hand up Blaine's side. "Even with all the times we've spoken, I'm afraid they're not going to like me."

"Well, if you're just yourself, you'll be fine as my Mom finds you rather charming."

"Really?"

"Yes, really. And you've made quite the impression on my Dad as well. So, just be yourself Bas. That's truly all they ask for. They want to know the real you not the person you think they want to meet."

"Even if the real me can be a bit rude and abrupt, especially when I'm uncomfortable?"

"Yes." Blaine told him reassuringly as he moved one of his hands over Sebastian's back. "Are you done studying as I asked before joining me?"

"I am. Time flew while you were talking with your Dad."

"I spoke with both of them actually. Now, how about I help you relax as we both need a good night's sleep as we've got a long day tomorrow?"

"What do you have in mind Killer?"

"Take off your shirt and move onto your back. From there, you'll just have to wait and see what's going to happen." While he spoke, Sebastian felt the same jolt shoot through his bad as the look on Blaine's face was similar to what it had been earlier. So, it didn't come as much of a surprise that it didn't take Sebastian long to remove his shirt and lie down beside him, game for whatever Blaine had in mind.

Considering they were at Blaine's the night before, Blaine got a view Sebastian usual got which was waking up to find the other dressing. Even though Sebastian's first class on Friday's wasn't too early, if he didn't catch the express into Manhattan his commute was going to take quite a bit longer. "Are you still coming to my place after classes?" Sebastian asked after they'd exchanged a morning kiss once Blaine had tugged on his pants.

"That's still the plan unless something comes up and if it does, I'll call or text." Blaine replied as he sat up on bed. "Are you leaving soon?"

"Afraid so Killer." Sebastian told him as he pulled his shirt over his head. "Trust me, I'd much rather spend the rest of the morning in bed with you." After giving himself a once over in the mirror, Sebastian sat down on the edge of the bed beside him. "And so you know, you continue to amaze me."

"In what regard?"

"Every regard, but I'm specifically referring to how we spent our night prior to going to sleep."

"You liked that?"

"I did." Sebastian said before leaning in for a kiss. "I need to go, but know I'll be thinking of you. I love you B."

"I love you too." Blaine then leaned in for a kiss. "Hopefully your fave professor doesn't drown on like usual." He told him.

"If he does, I'll just think of you to get me through. Later B!"

"Later Bas." Sebastian then gave him another quick peck before heading on his way. And once he left the bedroom, Blaine glanced at the clock and realized that unless it was a complete mess outside, Sebastian would catch the express as he wanted.

Tempting as it would be to stay in bed longer, Blaine made his way out as he could still smell the coffee which meant Sebastian had probably only started it before his shower. With this already done, Blaine knew he had time to enjoy it while packing his bag to bring with him that night before having to head off as well.

When Blaine was only about a block away from campus, he was surprised to hear his name being called out. And while others could assume it wasn't them, he didn't have the most common of names so he turned to see where it was coming from. He soon found it as he saw an arm waving through the crowd and following it down saw it belong to Rachel. "I was hoping you heard me." She told him before giving him a big hug. "How are you?"

"Well, yourself?"

"Good. Do you have time to talk?" Rachel asked as they continued towards campus.

"I do, as I'm actually a bit early today." Blaine told her. "But, you know you could've called me."

"I know, but this is something I wanted to talk to you about in person."

"Did Thad do something?" Blaine asked as he cocked his eyebrow much to Rachel's amusement. Yet the moment she giggled, Blaine smiled realizing he wasn't what she wanted to talk to him about. "Since it's not him, what is it?"

"You're friends with Jean-Baptiste still, right?" Rachel asked hesitantly causing Blaine to glance at her and it was clear her question had him thinking. "Do you?"

"I am, but why are you asking?" Blaine replied.

"I have a question that I believe he's most well equipped to answer."

"May I ask what sort of question this is, I mean, you could always get in touch with him?"

"It's Broadway related and well, he was always more your friend though he and I got along. We were more acquaintances through you."

"If it's Broadway related, why don't you ask Jesse as I know the two of you speak regularly or even Shelby?" Blaine response caused Rachel to let out a deep breath as she really didn't want to get into specifics at this time. "Rach, why Jean-Baptiste instead of the others?"

"Well, you know Jesse and he can be a bit over the top at times." Blaine couldn't help but laugh as her comment was very true. "As for Shelby, she and I have spoken and well, one of the guys would be better suited since they're both currently in shows if I remember correctly."

"That would be correct. Well, I can call and leave Jean-Baptiste a message and tell him that you'd like to speak with him. But, it would probably be best if I could tell him what it was about. I mean, his schedule is a bit crazy, especially during the weekends. Just don't be surprised if I don't hear back from him till Monday since that's when his show is dark."

"I appreciate that you'd be willing to do this and that's fine. I just need to speak with him before next Wednesday."

"Rachel, what aren't you telling me?"

"Depending on how things go, I'll fill you in Blaine. Just right now I need to keep this to me."

"Are you starting to audition again for more than ensemble parts?" Blaine asked as they stopped in front of NYADA. "Rachel?"

"Trust me that I'll tell you when the time is right Blaine. Now, are your parents coming into town today?"

"They arrived last night actually." Blaine told her. "They're spending the day visiting friends and doing whatever else they deem worthy till this evening when they have dinner with Bas and I before my show." When Rachel's expression changed, Blaine took ahold of her hand. "What's wrong?"

"I…I forgot they were coming to your show tonight." Once she spoke, Blaine looked at her more closely and could tell something was wrong.

"You're still going to come with Thad, aren't you?"

"I…"

"Are you afraid to be around my parents?"

"I…I don't think they like me."

"What makes you think that?"

"They've never really spoken to me when I've been around them, plus they always seemed to be agitated."

"Rachel, when have you ever been around my parents when Kurt hadn't been around?"

"Never."

"And that is why they acted as they did as my parents and Kurt never really got along."

"Still."

"Rach, talk to Thad about my parents okay and he'll tell you what they are like."

"I already have and well, all the guys sort of laughed at me with my description of them."

"Call it a hunch, but they'll be different when you meet them tonight. Just don't mention Kurt."

"I wouldn't. Are you sure as I don't need to come?"

"Yes, I want you to come. Trust me, don't worry about my parents." Blaine then leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I need to get going, but if you don't believe me truly talk with Thad about them as my parents love the guys." Rachel nodded before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek as well before watching him disappear inside NYADA.

After hearing Blaine's own reaction about her perception of his parents, Rachel realized that he truly did have a good point. Anytime she'd ever been around the Andersons, Kurt had been around. Whether that was coming over to their apartment after they married or seeing them out and about. Plus she knew well enough that Kurt wasn't a fan of Blaine's parents in the slightest as he believed they were rather snobbish. Yet to hear the way the guys' speak of them, it was clear she only ever saw one side of them.

Considering it was a Friday, most of them had pretty full schedules, but when Sebastian and Hunter finally got a chance to talk it was obvious Sebastian was distracted. While everything made sense that he wasn't really meeting Blaine's parents for the first time, he was still afraid he was going to screw up by saying something wrong. "With what you told me Sebastian, Blaine's parents are just as worried."

"Yet they're his parents Hunter, they aren't going anywhere." Hunter could only shake his head as he never envisioned seeing Sebastian in this state. "If I screw this up, I can just see them talking to him after the fact asking him what the fuck he's thinking dating me."

"Sebastian, even though they didn't care for Hummel they let Blaine make his own decision because they know it's his life to live." Hunter told him calmly. "And, did you ever think they're as worried as you are because they know how much you mean to Blaine. Think of it this way, while you and Sam were hesitant about one another your common care for Blaine got you through. This time around you're dealing with his parents who love him and only want him to be happy. And you my friend make him very happy and they know that.

"And he makes me really happy."

"Sebastian, relax. It's going to be fine."

"It's not as much the initial meeting Hunter, it's being the one responsible for keeping them entertained before B goes on tonight."

"But you won't have to do that alone as all the guys will be there, even Wes, so you won't be on your own. Now, what do Blaine's parents do for a living as I'm the only one out of the loop really?"

"His Dad is the CFO for one of biggest corporations in Columbus. But don't ask me exactly what the corporation does as it's one of those that diversify in multiple fields. And his Mom is a forensic accountant." When Hunter cocked an eyebrow, Sebastian laughed. "Don't, I did the same thing when B first told me. It must've been a shock to their systems to have one son become an actor while the other is a musician."

"Did they ever try to talk either of them out of it?"

"Yes, as they both knew neither was an easy path to follow. But they understood so, they're supporting their dreams."

"It must make it easier now that both are becoming more successful." Hunter said as they waited on their coffees. "I can't imagine how hard it had to be for them to see Blaine struggling to find himself after everything happened."

"From what he's told me, it broke their hearts. That reminds me, do not mention Hummel or anything B's been through. He hasn't filled them in on everything that happened."

"So they don't…"

"No."

"Got it." Hunter replied as they reached for their coffees. "Are you heading to the library next or home?"

"Home, I'm going to try and take a nap before B and I go to meet his parents for dinner while also getting some studying done. And if I went to the library, the nap wouldn't happen." Sebastian told him while adjusting his bag on his shoulder. "Before I go, are you going to be solo tonight or has Kimberly returned to town?"

"She returned last night and will be in town for the next week or so. Why do you ask?"

"I was just curious. I'll see you guys tonight." After Sebastian spoke, he turned on his heels and headed towards the subway stop that was only about a block away. Seeing Sebastian like this was a feeling Hunter understood all too well as he'd felt it recently when meeting Kimberly's parents as the last thing he wanted was to make a bad impression.

Happily Sebastian was not only was able to get his studying done, but also managed to get a nap in. Yet when he awoke, a smile slowly crept to his face when he spotted a mess of curls resting on his chest. He didn't know when Blaine had arrived, but he'd managed to curl up with him and join the nap without disturbing Sebastian. Once his eyes came into better focus, he laughed internally as one of his hands happened to be on Blaine's ass while the other was resting on the arm Blaine had around him.

While he would've been content lying their longer, all it took was one glance at the clock for him to give Blaine's ass a soft grab to try and stir him from sleep. At first, Blaine moved closer causing Sebastian to grab a bit firmer causing Blaine to glance up at him through his long lashes. "We need to get moving Killer so we're not late." Blaine mumbled softly in agreement before moving up enough to give Sebastian as soft kiss on the lips.

"You don't mind that I joined you, do you?" Blaine asked as he slowly pushed himself up so they could both get moving.

"Not in the slightest. Going to sleep alone and waking to you in my arms, it doesn't get much better."

"Oh, it could but I knew we needed to behave. Can't have that post sex glow prior to meeting my parents for dinner."

"Yea, probably a wise idea." Sebastian replied as they got up. "Do you need to shower or are you good?"

"I'm good; just remember I'll be taking one when we get home afterwards."

"That's a routine I'm more than familiar with."

By the time they were both done getting dressed, Blaine walked up behind Sebastian who was standing in front of the mirror and wrapped his arms around him. "Your look handsome as ever Bas."

"I need to keep up with my handsome boyfriend." Sebastian replied as he adjusted his tie.

"I believe that is the other way around." Blaine told him and shortly after Sebastian turned in his arms. All it took was one look at Sebastian to know he disagreed. "It's true."

"May I tell you something before we go?" Blaine nodded. "I've missed your bowties."

"Are you saying you don't like me new style?"

"No, as it's very you. I'm just saying, I've missed them since you were wearing one when we first met. They're always going to be a part of you B." Sebastian then leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. "Let's go do this."

Even though Blaine knew they were leaving early, he understood Sebastian's desire to do so as he hated being late. And when meeting your boyfriend's parents for the first time, it is best to be prompt and waiting for them to arrive. Throughout the cab ride to the restaurant, Blaine kept glancing down at his hand as Sebastian was rubbing his thumb over the top of it ever since he'd taken ahold of it. Seeing his normally calm and put together boyfriend so nervous, Blaine wondered what sort of state he'd be in the following Friday as he went through the same thing.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, they weren't too surprised to see Scott out front waiting for them. They spoke briefly as Scott told them he'd be out of sight, but close enough if they needed him. Blaine smiled, before giving Sebastian's hand a squeeze and heading into the restaurant. After giving his name to the host, they were told their table would be ready shortly and that they'd be seated once their entire party arrived. Sensing Sebastian was a bit tense, Blaine moved up on to his toes and kissed him on the lips hoping it would take the edge off slightly. As he was backing away and a smile was creeping to Sebastian's mouth they heard someone clear their throat. Sebastian was quick to turn his head, figuring it was going to be some uptight individual who'd been offended by what he'd witnessed. Yet, he quickly saw it was Blaine's parents who were both smiling which eased his nerves as he slid an arm around Blaine.

"I hope we haven't kept you waiting long." Mr. Anderson told them as he helped his wife off with her coat.

"Not at all, we only arrived a few minutes ago." Blaine replied before going to hug his parents, pleased that they arrived early as well. "Mom, Dad, I'd like to formally introduce you both to Sebastian."

"Mr. and Mrs. Anderson." Sebastian responded before being hugged by Blaine's Mom which Blaine had warned him about ahead of time.

"I thought we'd told you that you may call us Kate and Patrick." His Mom told him with a smile before Patrick and Sebastian hugged which caught Blaine by surprised, but it was certainly a pleasant one. "Mr. and Mrs. Anderson is too formal."

"It's a habit from how I was raised." Sebastian replied. "Did you have a nice time today?"

"We did." Patrick replied. "We had lunch with a college friend of mine and his wife, before this one decided to do a bit of shopping." He continued as he wrapped his arm around Kate who shook her head.

"I didn't do that much shopping, don't let him fool you."

"That depends on your perspective." Patrick said causing Blaine to stifle a laugh. "How did both of your days go?"

"Mine was rather quiet." Blaine told them. "But I luck out that way considering everything that's happening."

"What about you Sebastian?" Kate asked.

"Long." Sebastian replied. "I have one professor that loves nothing more than the sound of his own voice. And he tends to ramble quite a bit instead of sticking to the subject matter we're covering."

"I had a professor like that." Patrick said. "The man could talk for the entire hour plus and rarely move beyond the initial factoid that started the class."

"Where did you go, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Stanford." Patrick told him. "And it was during my time there that I met Kate."

"One of his fraternity brothers introduced them." Blaine chimed in with as the hostess had yet to return. "Yet that's not necessarily a story to be told in public." When his parents looked at him, Blaine smiled. "Come now, you both know it's not."

"He's got a point dear." Kate said and soon Patrick nodded as well. Yet before they could proceed further, the hostess called out Anderson and they were soon being led to their table. Once they were seated, Blaine could already tell that Sebastian was more relaxed as they all quickly fell into conversation after ordering their drinks. "Before I forget, Cooper sends his regards to you both and hopes to see you both soon."

"Hopefully he remembers to call ahead this time." Blaine replied before taking a sip. "He lucked out that I was actually home when he showed up last time."

"I actually mentioned that to him." Patrick said. "His response was that he knew that as now he knows you're seeing someone." When Sebastian laughed quietly Patrick looked at him. "What's so funny Sebastian?"

"From what I know of Cooper, that's all the more reason for him to show up unannounced." At Sebastian's comment, Kate laughed as Blaine and Patrick smiled.

"That is very true." Patrick replied. "Cooper does love pushing Blaine's buttons."

"You think?" Blaine said as he set his hand on Sebastian's thigh beneath the table. "He lives for embarrassing me."

"That's never going to change." Kate told him. "You know your Uncle still does that to me and your Dad does that to his siblings. It's an eldest sibling mindset. Sebastian, do you have any siblings?"

"I don't." Sebastian replied. "At one point I wanted one, but then I got to the point where it didn't really matter to me. And going to boarding school all my life I rarely would've ever seen them."

"Was there a specific reason for that?" Patrick asked as he glanced at Blaine wanting to make sure he wasn't pushing too much after asking.

"Both of my parents went to boarding school growing up and felt I'd get the best education that way. Plus, with the amount of travel they both had to do with work they knew I'd be well looked after."

"That couldn't have been easy for them." Kate said.

"It wasn't. But since I was at school, they tried to get most of their travel done while I was at school and were home when I was on break. I actually got to spend the most time with them when we moved to Paris for a few years because of a project my Mom was working on."

"Did you enjoy Paris?"

"I loved it. I've gone back numerous times since we've returned to the States. Have you ever been?"

"We actually went for our honeymoon." Patrick replied causing Blaine to look at him. "You knew that Blaine."

"Yea, I…I just forgot."

"Do you speak French?"

"He's fluent." Blaine replied quickly before apologizing to Sebastian for doing so. Yet, he couldn't have been happier as Sebastian told him not to worry about it, in French which was something Blaine loved hearing him speak. The smile that crept to each of their faces in that moment, didn't go unnoticed by Blaine's parents. And that was a look on Blaine's face neither could ever remember seeing during his time with Kurt.
