Five Years Later
Part 50
By the time they left dinner, any apprehensions they might have had prior were distant memories as dinner went off without a hitch. Blaine's parents got to know Sebastian better without pushing, and Sebastian got a better insight into who made Blaine who he is. While Blaine had told him he and his Dad had a bit of a rough patch when he first came out, they managed to get through it. Part of it stemmed from his Dad being surprised and Blaine having his defenses on high which wasn't a good combination.
Once they walked out of the restaurant, they were surprised to see Scott standing beside an awaiting car. After he greeted Blaine and Sebastian, Blaine went about making proper introductions which caught his parents' off-guard. Yet soon enough, they were getting in and heading on their way. "Were you going to tell us about this?" Patrick asked once they pulled out into traffic.
"Which part, that there was an awaiting car or that I technically have a bodyguard?"
"Either, though I'm more concerned about the fact that you have a bodyguard than a car waiting to take us to the venue." Patrick replied and Kate agreed. Blaine took a deep breath before glancing up at Sebastian who took ahold of his hand. "Blaine."
"Fine, Kurt showed up on New Year's Eve and created a bit of a scene." The words were barely out his mouth and Patrick was running his fingers through his hair. "Then he happened to catch me when Morgan and I were out shopping, as well as showing up at the show on Valentine's Day."
"That…" Before he could say anything else, Kate took ahold of her husband's hand to try and calm him down. Yet in that moment, Sebastian saw firsthand how much Blaine's Dad disliked Kurt. It also made him realize why Blaine hadn't opened up to his parents about everything. With his parents already disliking him, it could've easily made matters worse which Blaine didn't need at that time.
"Were you both alright as I'm assuming you were with him Sebastian when two of these moments happened?"
"We're fine." Blaine replied. "New Year's Eve a lot of words were exchanged as Kurt was clearly unhappy to find out I'm with Bas and he acted a bit irrational."
"Who you date is none of his business." Kate said as her husband continued composing himself.
"I know that, but there is a lot of bad blood between him and Bas from back in high school." Blaine told them. "But honestly, we both expected it once he found out we were together. Then when he saw Morgan and I, he tried to tell me what a mistake I was making along with a few other comments. And he did the same on Valentine's Day yet he didn't get to say much as our car was waiting and Scott kept him from us."
"Was Scott working for you on New Year's Eve?" Patrick asked calmly.
"No." Blaine replied. "That situation is what prompted Vincent to bring someone in. And after Valentine's Day, there is actually a team looking out for all of us before, during, and after performances. That way should he show up again, Scott can come with us while everyone else is still looked after. Though, he did need the help as some of the fans have gotten a bit…"
"Enthusiastic." Sebastian finished for him when Blaine was having problems finding the right word. "One girl actually tried to grab Justin during a previous performance but Scott got her before she could. Needless to say since that incident, B, Justin, and Morgan don't get as close to the edge of the stage anymore."
"One would hope." Kate replied as she looked at Blaine. "So, Kurt's really only been an annoyance."
"Essentially." Blaine told her as he subconsciously relaxed against Sebastian who soon released his hand and wrapped his arm around him. While his response was brief, his facial expression let his parents know there was more to the story yet it wasn't something Blaine wanted to get into at that moment. Considering he was going to be performing, they let the topic drop knowing Blaine knew them well enough to know it would get brought up again later.
When they finally arrived at the venue, Scott led them straight towards the VIP entrance as this venue didn't have a back door. Once they were inside, Blaine gave Sebastian a quick kiss before heading backstage with Scott. After Blaine headed off, Sebastian guided the Andersons towards a table that had been reserved for them near the stage. Yet before Blaine went to change, he watched as Sebastian and his parents got settled. Seeing them all at ease with one another meant more to him than he could possible put into words at that moment. As now he could concentrate solely on his performance and not whether or not they were all getting along.
While Blaine was changing, both Sebastian and Patrick loosened their ties before ordering a round of drinks. To start, the conversation was pretty basic as the Anderson really weren't sure what they were in store for. So Sebastian essentially told them they had a bit of time till Blaine would be taking the stage, so to sit back and relax the best they could. Yet he was quick to also remind them that they would soon be having quite a bit of company as his and Blaine's friends would be joining them.
Slowly but surely the others began to arrive as Sebastian had said, and the Andersons were certainly happy to see so many familiar faces once again. Wes was in the process of introducing his girlfriend to them when Thad and Rachel spotted them. "Hey, Blaine's parents are already here." Thad said with a big smile as he helped Rachel with her coat. "Are you going to be okay?"
"I should be as you've all told me the same thing."
"Blaine's parents are cool, trust me." Thad then leaned over and gave her a kiss before taking her hand. "Come on, I'll show you." During their walk over to the others, Rachel took a deep breath as she wanted to put all her worries behind her after everything Blaine and the guys had told her. "Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, it's good to see you!" Thad said the moment they were next to the table.
"It's good to see you as well Thad." Kate replied soon to be followed by her husband. "Rachel."
"Good evening Mrs. Anderson. Mr. Anderson." While she spoke, Rachel was firmly aware that both of Blaine's parents noticed Thad holding her hand.
"Are the two of you, together?" Patrick asked as Sebastian looked for their server as more drinks were going to be needed.
"Yes, sir." Thad replied with a smile that had both the Andersons smile as they each took a seat at a table beside them joining Hunter and Kimberly. "We actually formally met at Blaine's fall concert that Sebastian and I went to, but only began dating recently." While Thad spoke, he noticed Sebastian leaning over to whisper into Kate's ear and whatever he said brought a smile to her face.
"From what Sebastian just told me, we owe you a bit of gratitude Rachel." Kate said as Sebastian leaned back in his chair before winking at Thad. "Not letting Kurt know that Blaine and Sebastian were together must've been hard. But we appreciate you respecting Blaine's right to privacy."
"You have nothing to thank me for ma'am. Who Blaine chooses to date is none of Kurt's business." Rachel replied. "The fact that it is Sebastian was an even better reason not to say anything."
"Still, thank you." Patrick told her. "That couldn't have been easy to have been put in that situation between the two as we know Kurt is a close friend to you."
Yet before Rachel had a chance to respond, Jeff came walking up from backstage and dropped three badges onto Sebastian's table before sitting down on the other side of Mr. Anderson. Once he said hello to Blaine's parents who'd been wondering where he was as the others were all there, he explained what was going on. Considering the size of the venue, they were going to need those badges to get backstage after the performance as security was pretty tight.
With the venue filling up, the conversations soon became more table oriented so that everyone didn't need to yell. "Are you alright?" Hunter asked as Rachel didn't look as relaxed as usual. "I'm asking because Sebastian mentioned you were leery about being around Blaine's parents."
"I am. I'm actually a bit surprised as I've never seen them like this." Rachel replied before taking a sip of her drink.
"Like what?" Kimberly asked as she leaned against Hunter who had his arm around her shoulders.
"Relaxed and happy, as strange as that might sound." Rachel told her. "They were always so tense and uptight anytime I saw them."
"That would be because they weren't fond of Kurt." Thad said. "What you are seeing is who we always saw. Now you know why we all reacted the way we did when you spoke of them the way you did."
"They seem to really like Sebastian." Kimberly added as she looked around Hunter at Sebastian who actually had his arm on the back of Kate's chair.
"I noticed that too." Hunter said. "That must be a relief to Blaine."
"Much as you felt when I met your parents and you met mine."
"Exactly. It's never easy introducing the one you love to your family, especially if you know they'd be wary of anyone you brought to them. And in Blaine's case, it's understandable after everything."
"And as for you thinking they don't like you, just give them time to actually get to know you." Thad told her before kissing her on the cheek. "No denying what Sebastian told them made them both happy."
While the others were all talking, Blaine and his band were getting ready to take the stage. "Are you nervous about your parents being here?" Justin asked as they patiently waited to be announced.
"Slightly, but that's more about them seeing everything." Blaine told him. "Seeing me like this is certainly going to be different for them."
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Morgan asked.
"It's a good thing considering all the crap I've been through." Then just as Blaine finished they heard the crowd begin to cheer so they assumed their entrance would be shortly. While the manager spoke, it wasn't too surprising to see the guys all check their shoes considering Blaine almost lost one in a previous performance as it had come undone.
Once the introduction had been made, they made their way onto the stage and began to get settled. While they did, Blaine couldn't help but look out into the crowd to find Sebastian and his parents. After finding him, he did his token point and wink which brought a rather big smile to Sebastian's face that didn't go unnoticed by the Andersons. "Does he always do that?" Kate asked as she leaned closer to Sebastian who'd turned his chair to have a better angle of the stage.
"Yea." Sebastian replied with an almost shy sound to his voice before Blaine began his first number. Considering those in attendance, it wasn't too surprising that they started off with Dark Side as that always seemed to get the crowd going. Seeing the way the crowd was reacting couldn't have pleased the Andersons more. The longer they played it became clear why they were signed so quickly as it was clear they had quite the fan following already. More than once during the early parts of their set, people were calling out for each of them individually. And during calls for Blaine and Morgan, Patrick looked at both Sebastian and Jeff who were rolling their eyes at some of the comments. He couldn't imagine how awkward it must be for both of them to hear those sorts of things said about or towards those they loved.
When Blaine set his guitar in a stand, they all assumed they were starting the acoustic part of their set, but neither Justin nor Morgan were changing out their guitars. Then as Blaine moved towards the piano that was on stage, Sebastian and Jeff were both exchanging looks as the others were all looking at them as this was something they'd never seen. While Blaine got settled, Wes leaned over to Sebastian who was shaking his head at whatever Wes had asked before focusing back on the stage.
"I bet we have some of you that have seen us before a bit confused." Blaine said as he adjusted the microphone by the piano. And the response from the crowd was that of agreement. "You see, we were all talking and realized our love of music developed rather early on in our lives. I mean, in my home there was always something playing and well, my parents had a vast taste in music." At those words, Sebastian glanced at Blaine's parents who were sharing a look between the two. "So, we've decided we'd try mixing things up a bit more than we usually do if that's alright with everyone." With the response they got from the crowd, smiles crept across all of their faces.
Then without another word said, Blaine began to play and both of his parents' eyes went wide.
You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song, and you'll never feel
Left all alone
While the guys had all heard this song more than a few times over the years, it seemed they were all listening to the lyrics more and realized there was more to it. That the lyrics spoke quite a bit about Blaine and why he stayed away from them all even after leaving Kurt. About halfway through, Blaine moved back to center stage while Talia took to the piano. For someone that tended to stick to pop songs, Blaine was doing a classic power ballad justice. Not to mention, it certainly showed off Justin's skills to a whole new level.
They only played a few songs more before moving on to their acoustic set. Since his parents had seen the video of the song that turned everything around for him, Blaine started the set with More since it seemed rather fitting, not to mention it was one of Sebastian's favorites. No matter how many times Sebastian heard it; he got mesmerized every time he heard it. This time around though, he glanced over at Blaine's parents, who looked so proud as they relaxed against one another. For it not necessarily being their sort of setting, they were clearly enjoying themselves and the moment.
By the time they finished, it wasn't too surprising that they got a standing ovation once again which prompted them to come back out for a brief encore. When they disappeared afterward, Patrick and Kate saw Sebastian and Jeff placing the badges around their necks. "Are we leaving?" Patrick asked as Sebastian slid the other two across the table towards them.
"In a few minutes." Sebastian replied. "After they finish they usually have a brief sit down with Vincent to talk about things. And since you're both here, we're going to wait a bit long as they all usually end up changing afterwards."
"May we ask what you thought?" Nick asked as he leaned over and poked his head between Sebastian and Mrs. Anderson while Sophie and Chloe spoke with Wes about the performance. "And don't worry; we won't take you saying it was wonderful as you being bias." The smile that Nick had on his face as he spoke, brought an even brighter one to her.
"You haven't changed at all." Kate replied as she looked at him. "As for your question, he was incredible, right dear?" She continued as she looked at Patrick who was practically beaming with pride. "Patrick?"
"He was astounding, they all were." Patrick said. "Now, I have one question that I'm sure any one of you could answer. But, am I not current with music or were a lot of original songs played tonight?" Once the question came, all of their friends looked at Sebastian and smiled.
"You can take this." Jeff told him as he sat back.
"Yes, most of the songs were originals."
"Written by Blaine." Jeff added with a smile. After he spoke, it was interesting to watch the change of expression on the Andersons' faces.
"Did you know he wrote, as it came as a shock to most of us?" Wes asked and both of Blaine's parents nodded.
"We just didn't realize he'd written so much." Kate replied. "Sebastian, do you happen to know how many he has written?"
"Too many to count." Sebastian told her. "Know those decorative boxes on the bookshelves of his apartment?" Both parents nodded. "They're all filled with them. From what B told me, he's been collecting them since high school. They all don't have arrangements though."
"So you've read them?" Patrick asked.
"I've read quite a few of them, but I've yet to make my way through all of them because there are so many." Sebastian replied.
"Any song you heard tonight, he picked out of those boxes." Jeff added causing Sebastian to look at him. "It's true man, as Blaine told everyone in the band you're the one that's picked them out. That is except for the newer tunes that surprised even you the first time they'd played them as Blaine had only recently written them." When Sebastian began to blush the rest of the guys refrained from picking on him as they normally would've done since Blaine's parents were around. Considering Sebastian tended to react in one of two ways in those moments, and one was certainly not something to provoke in front of Blaine's parents.
Yet the others didn't have to keep quiet for much longer as Sebastian's phone went off and he was soon standing. Shortly after he was, Jeff did the same as the Andersons looked at them. "B would like the both of you to come with as well. He'd like to introduce you to everyone." The Andersons nodded before getting to their feet.
"Should we wait or should we meet you guys outside?" Hunter asked as he looked at Sebastian.
"I'm not quite sure, let me talk with B and I'll text you with what's going on." After Hunter replied, the four of them headed towards the hallway that led backstage.
During their walk down the hall, both boys told the Andersons that Blaine as well as the others would be in one of two probable states. They would either be running on an adrenaline high or they'd be exhausted but there was no rhyme or reason for which response they'd walk in on. When they reached the doorway, Sebastian smiled as Scott greeted them all before opening the door. Once they walked inside, they found the five of them stretched out and the exhaustion was more evident. After giving Sebastian a kiss, Blaine proceeded to introduce everyone to his parents, including Vincent who was standing off to the side.
"You have a very talented son, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson." Vincent said while they shook hands. While Vincent and his parents spoke, Blaine and the others all got comfortable, much as they did after most shows.
"What did they think?" Blaine asked once he leaned his head back on Sebastian's shoulder.
"They were in awe Killer." Sebastian told him before kissing his temple. "By the way, talk about throwing us all off early on." Once he spoke, the rest of the band smiled.
"So we even surprised you guys?" Justin asked and Sebastian as well as Jeff nodded. "That's good to know, it was fun since it's a bit different."
"And here we thought the big smile on your face was forced." Jeff told him through a laugh. "Seriously though, that was incredible. There was no denying how much you all enjoyed playing it."
"As I said, it's fun to change things up once in a while." Blaine said. "Did everyone make it as it's often hard to see everything from the stage?"
"Everyone, but Santana and Jordan." Jeff replied. "But, that is the norm for a Friday night. You should also know, quite a few people were wondering when you guys were going to start releasing some music." Once he finished, they all noticed the conversation between the Andersons and Vincent stopped and Vincent was looking directly at Jeff.
"Is that true Jeff?" Vincent asked.
"Yes." Jeff told him and Sebastian backed up his statement. "It's been happening more and more at every show. Hell, I'd love to have the stuff they've been playing on my IPod." Once Jeff finished, Blaine glanced back at Sebastian who had quite the smirk on his face.
"Something you'd like to share with us Sebastian?"
"I might have a few songs on my IPod of Blaine singing."
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Vincent said with a smile. "Well, I can tell you all it won't be much longer till a glimpse of what you're all capable of will be available."
"Really?" Blaine asked as he sat up straight.
"Yes. The studio has been talking about it considering the amount of buzz there has been after each of your shows. But I will make sure you all know well in advance of it happening so you can get word of mouth going."
"Oh, that won't be a problem as we've got friends all over." Jeff told him rather enthusiastically. "So, if you need buzz going about a song being released, we can do that."
"Jeff's right, all it would take is some word of mouth even at shows for it to get going." Sebastian added. "Think, with not a lot of publicity they're playing all over before summer even starts."
"They'd be the perfect ones to start it." Talia said as she looked at Vincent. "More than a few people have noticed that Jeff and Sebastian seemed to be at all of our shows with prime seating. So if anyone was to know, it would be them."
"While Jeff spoke, would you be game Sebastian?"
"Of course."
"Well then, it's one more thing to mention to those handling the PR."
While Vincent spoke, Blaine noticed his Mom yawn which didn't surprise him considering what time it was. "Mom, Dad, if you guys want to head back to the hotel I won't be offended." Blaine told them. "As we tend to go out and grab something to eat afterwards. But if you want, you're more than welcome to join us."
"We wouldn't want to intrude." Patrick replied.
"You wouldn't be." Todd told him. "Our motto from the very start has always been the more the merrier."
"Yet, we're Blaine's parents." Kate said.
"Do you really think I would've asked if I didn't want you to join us?" Blaine said. "Or, that I didn't run the idea passed everyone beforehand."
"What better way to get to know the people your son spends most of his time with?" Morgan told them with a smile. "Aside from Sebastian of course."
"Of course." Patrick said getting him a look of surprise from Blaine who'd settled back in against Sebastian. "Kate, what do you think?"
"Morgan has a point, it's only fitting we get to know everyone. Will the others be joining us?"
"Yes." Sebastian replied. "That's what Hunter and I were talking about before we left since we do all go out together afterwards. Plus, this will give the girls more time to fawn over B here."
"Excuse me?" Blaine asked as he looked back at him.
"Chloe and Sophie each have tons to ask you that neither Wes nor Nick felt capable of fully answering."
"Alright then, let's get this show on the road."
"Blaine."
"Yes?"
"You're not going alone anymore." Vincent told him.
"I figured as much now that there is a full detail." Blaine replied as they all began to get up. "Only question I have is are they all coming or only Scott?"
"Why don't we let Scott answer that as I'm sure it'll depend on where you are all going?"
"Fair enough." Blaine's response certainly got an unexpected look from Vincent. "Bas and I talked about it and once more of a team was created I realized the chances of going out afterwards without at least Scott, wasn't going to happen. So, you have one less thing to worry about trying to convince me of."
"Convince you of?" Kate asked as she looked at Blaine.
"We'll talk about it later Mom along with everything else that we didn't speak about in the car. I promise."
"Usual spot everyone?" Sebastian asked wanting the light feeling back into the room. When everyone nodded, he slid his arm around Blaine. "Killer?" Blaine nodded but didn't take his eyes off his parents. It was in that moment, that Blaine was starting to realize that sooner or later he was going to have to completely open up to his parents about everything that had happen.
Once that was decided, Sebastian and Jeff each sent texts out to the others so the band could get their things together. With things slowly changing, it didn't surprise any of them to hear that their friends were going to be meeting them at the diner. Since them going out into the bar after a show had essentially stopped, they all knew it was for the best to meet somewhere so there was less chance of them being followed.
On their ride over, Blaine asked his parents if they'd like to come over for brunch the next morning because if they were going to talk, he'd prefer they do it someplace private and not at a restaurant. That was something his parents had no problems with as it was what they preferred as well. Plus it was going to allow them more quality time together.
When they got to the diner, it didn't take them long to fall into their usual routine. And Blaine's parents got a good laugh watching the amount of food the five were putting away. While they were eating, the others made a point of including the Andersons in the conversation. Yet the moment Sebastian turned to speak with Sophie in French, all eyes fell to them. "Quoi?" Sebastian replied as Sophie looked at Nick.
"We're just not used to you speaking French." Thad told him rather bluntly.
"You rarely ever heard me because none of you are fluent enough for me to have a real conversation with." Sebastian told them. "So, if any of you are curious what we're talking about, brush up your language skills."
"Hey, I got part of it."
"Only because you're truly fluent in Spanish, but no doubt that you didn't catch everything."
"True."
"Bas, leave them alone." Blaine said after swallowing his bite. "I'm sure you're making them all self-conscious that you guys are talking about them when you're actually talking about me."
"You can understand them?" Wes asked as he tilted his head.
"Yes." Blaine replied much to the delight of his parents. "All those years of taking French in school wasn't for not. But, over the last couple of months I've been brushing up on it."
"May we ask why?" Kate asked.
"Because it's so important to Bas." Blaine replied. "And we're hoping to take a trip there at some point. The main reason anything I learned faltered is I never had anyone to talk with, yet now, I do."
"I just want to get this out there, but this is all his idea, I didn't pressure him." Sebastian told them. "I was honestly touched when he told me he was brushing up." When Hunter put his hand over his mouth, Sebastian shook his head. "Really Clarington."
"I didn't say a word."
"Actions speak louder." Thad said with a laugh.
"Does anyone remember B's parents are here?"
"Oh Sebastian, they wouldn't like us to sensor ourselves." Nick said. "Mr. A always encouraged us to be ourselves up to a point around them."
"He's right Sebastian, I did." Patrick told them. "Most of the Dads and I agreed that it was the best way for them to learn how to have appropriate conversations around others."
"Yet it never stopped us from coming very close to the line." Jeff added.
"B?"
"It's true Bas. So, with this group you know that can be dangerous. But it's definitely come in hand more than once in situations much like this one. Just imagine if Hunter didn't keep his comment to himself."
"And why is it everyone is so certain my comment was not appropriate?" Hunter responded.
"You covered your mouth dear and smirked." Kimberly told him. "That doesn't speak of innocent thoughts." When Sebastian laughed, Kimberly smiled before kissing Hunter on the cheek. "Don't deny it as it seems the Andersons understand."
"We do." Kate replied. "Trust me when I tell you we've heard more and a few things we wished we hadn't over the years when Cooper and his friends were around."
"I'm going to tell him you said that Mom."
"Go ahead, but he knows he put his foot in his mouth more than once over the years. And if he even tries to deny it, call me as I'll be more than happy to share little bits of that information." Once she spoke, Patrick looked at her. "Come now dear, anything I tell Blaine won't be shocking considering we're talking about Cooper here." When the rest of the guys laughed, including Blaine it had all the girlfriends looking at one another.
"So, is it safe to presume Cooper is as much of a free spirit in real life as he appeared to be in his latest movie?" Talia asked.
"I'd say that's probably pretty darn close." Patrick replied and Blaine nodded in response. "But over the last few years he's certainly matured." When Kate stifled a giggle, Blaine turned towards her.
"Mom."
"We'll talk over brunch." Her mere words caused Blaine to lean his head back before Sebastian kissed him on the forehead.
"It'll be okay B."
"Sebastian is right dear, it's not that bad but it's better to be shared with just the two of you first. Then it's up to you to share it with the others if you want."
By the time they all started to head home, Blaine made his way over towards Rachel and Thad. "So, how are you feeling considering how you felt prior to tonight?" Blaine asked her as he put his arm around her shoulders causing Thad to smile.
"I'm in shock to be honest." Rachel told him before glancing down at his parents who were speaking with Wes, Chloe, and Sebastian. "When I get home tonight, I honestly don't think Santana is going to believe me when I tell her how different your parents were tonight."
"It's as I told you, there is so much more to them than you ever saw previously."
"In a matter of hours, that point was driven home. It proves that your parents just didn't like being around Kurt. And well, he didn't like being around them either. I can't imagine how hard that must've been."
"I tried to deal with it the best I could." Blaine replied. "But now, I don't have those same worries."
"So I can tell as your parents seem to really like Sebastian." Blaine could only smile as he knew for a fact that his parents adored him already. "Um, do you mind if I ask you if you made that call?"
"I did and you should hear back on Monday probably."
"Hear back about what?" Thad asked as he looked between them.
"I asked Blaine to do me a favor."
"About?"
"We'll talk about it later." When Thad just looked at her, Rachel moved to kiss him on the cheek. "It's in regards to my audition last week."
"Alright." Thad replied before looking at Blaine. "How long are you parents in town?"
"Till Sunday evening, so the chances of seeing Bas and I this weekend are slim. Just as they will be for next weekend."
"What's going on next weekend?" Rachel replied.
"Sebastian's parents are coming to town." Thad told her. "While this weekend is about spending time with the Andersons, next is about the Smythes."
"Have you guys met Sebastian's parents?" Rachel asked.
"We have." Thad told her. "And just a heads up, while they are a lot like Blaine's, they are a bit more formal."
"Are you excited Blaine?"
"I feel like Bas did in regards to my parents, both excited and nervous which is to be expected." Blaine then turned when he heard his name and saw his Dad looking at them. "Well, it looks like we're going to get going as I told them we'd drop them at their hotel since they came out with us."
"Understandable." Thad told him. "I'll talk to you later man and you guys enjoy your weekend."
"Thanks, we plan on it. Talk to you later!" Blaine then leaned in to give Rachel a kiss on the cheek before heading going off to leave with Sebastian and his parents.
"Are you good?" Thad asked as he helped Rachel on with her coat.
"I am. Tonight was certainly an eye opening experience to all the stress Blaine was under while he was married. I can't even imagine how hard that was for him."
"Well, you no longer have to worry about it as it's clear Sebastian and the Andersons get a long really well. Now, let's head out as well." The moment Rachel felt Thad's hand slip into her, she couldn't stop the smile that crept to her face considering how worried she'd been and how the night actually turned out.
